I have used Postnet (not this branch) many times in the past to mail cards overseas. My request to do so was met with irritation and a quote of R450 courier per card. I stated that I just wanted regular airmail, but was told in an extremely rude manner that airmail does not exist! I was however told, in a tone of utter contempt, that I could send each letter via unregistered normal post, only to be dispatched a week later, for R65 per card! In the past the cost for each card was about R8 so I just left and sent it from a similar company in the mall, via airmail! for R8.50 per card. Unbelievable!

I have gone to PostNet Paarl over the last few years for printing. I can’t complain about the quality they provide - hence three stars. However, I have noticed a decline in the service quality. The funny thing is that I know who the friendly ones are at PostNet and I try to wait until they’re done, because they’re always a pleasure to work with. But with my last visit, I had specific paper I was looking for to print on and an older lady was not very helpful. No smiles or friendly greeting, even though it was quiet in the store. I can understand if someone is having a bad day, but it’s not the first time I’ve interacted with her. Instead of politely saying that they didn’t have that paper or asking me what I was referring to, she instead rudely passed me on to another assistant. Fortunately this other assistant was one I found helpful and polite. She explained everything to me kindly and even provided solutions. Not a biggie, just something for PostNet to be aware of. Perhaps one-on-one training is necessary to correct any unfavourable demeanors. And not necessarily for the general staff, but more for the managers it seems.
