SCAM OR NOT (SECURITY DEPOSIT NOT RETURNED) Below I will be sharing my horrible experience. I hope this keeps the present members aware of what lies ahead and cautions the new members. Let me start by saying what many of the reviews have already said. " I have not received my SECURITY DEPOSIT even after numerous correspondence, messages and service requests." I was made aware of this scam wherein they do no return the security deposit after you vacate your property. I stayed in Colive Golden Square, Velachery, Chennai. I accordingly took all precautions, namely giving the notice one month before vacating, ensuring there was no dues from my side. BTW I vacated on the 14th but had to pay the full month rent. There after i contacted the sales manager Mr. Sarangapani. He assured me that I will receive the security deposit within 15 days which I did not. Apparently the money was reflecting in the colive app passbook. Again, they deducted Rs 5500 from my security deposit of Rs 25000 as separation charges which is about 22 per cent. I applied for redemption and got a message that the money will credited to my account within 1 month. After one month i tried contacting them again, they said 2 more days, thereafter they said 3rd September. Still did not receive my security deposit back. Now the sales manager has stopped picking up my calls and not responding to my messages, Colive cannot be contacted either over the phone nor over email. The escalation team replies after 2 to 3 days and says to cooperate. I also messaged the CEO of Colive Mr. Suresh Rangarajan, received no response. They keep sending messages about weekend parties taking place in their various properties to show how cool an organization they are. But they will stop responding to you once you vacate their property and demand your security deposit. So please tell me is this a SCAM OR NOT?? EDIT 1: @colive I have raised more than 6 service requests for returning back my security deposit. Kindly stop writing these standard company messages and start showing some commitment.

My father in law had stayed there for 30 days. They have collected a security deposit of Rs 24000 and have not refunded it till date after vacating. It's been more than 1.5 years now. Contacted them several times and not yet refunded. We have sent them a legal notice now. If not getting a response for that as well, going to file a consumer case as well. I will make sure that this kind of cheating business will be punished. Please don't fall into their trap.

An excellent concept and setup. Safe for ladies. A fully functional place to stay with all amenities and excellent service. Except for utensils you don't need to carry anything else. If you don't want to, you can opt for the meal plans they provide. Abhishek the relationship manager was very helpful and accommodating and housekeeping staff Rana was very helpful too.

Home for couples. 3 boys can share a room or a couple can have one room. Rooms for couple is at separate floor. Less restrictions and more fun. Rooms are not much spacious but there is a private hall and balcony. Excellent space in upstairs with plants maintained well. One minus is less security level.

This place is nothing but a scam. They will never answer the calls. Won't return the deposit. Will try to loot you as much as possible. Stay away from this. PS: They forcefully make you post a 5 star review when you join. Don't get fooled by that

Don’t expect your advance back, I tried everything and these scammers would not return my money. If you are planning to leave the place you must plan to not pay rent for the notice period or face the loss. This is not just my story but everyone’s who leaves the place.

They never provide any resolution. Just lies. Because of them I lost my entire advance ₹14000. They charged me electricity ₹5000+ for 4 months whereas my roommates were charged less than <₹2000. I raised ticket in September but I got reply in November end. As per TNEB bill I should received 2100 as EB charges but they never solved it. Due to this I was not able to raise checkout tickets and I was evicted losing my rent and advance money. Please stay away from Colive. Complete hopless place.

I have lived in pg's and flats at multiple places like bangalore, Delhi and Chennai. This apartment is the worst place anyone can ever move into. Just after one week of moving in me and my flatmates were told that the floor in which you are living is sold to someone else and we have to move to 9th floor and just after 10 days of moving to 9 th floor we were given notice to vacate within 10 days as the entire A block is sold to someone. The Manager Ashwin , Sabri, the sales managers all of them are biggest fraudsters and liars I have ever met in life. They basically try to trap the outsiders by promising them false things. They are the local goons of chennai whom you can't mess up with and they play with innocent people and their hard earned money. Before moving in they falsely promised me that they provide food. After I moved in there was 0 facilities they provided, I lost my 10000 rupees while I was in office. Upon raising complain they took no action at all and I am 100 percent sure that these theive managers and their cleaning persons were behind the stealing. In short you can never expect any place that is worst than this property to live in. And I promise to everyone that if you are planning to move in here, just after 10 days you will agree to all the points I have said . These goons deserve to be behind bars but I don't belong to this place that's why didn't do any police complaint.

These people openly steal your security deposit. I ran behind them and emailed/called/raised tickets for over 5 months with no luck. Stay was good, but I can remember an incident where the electrician had the audacity to put in the code and walk right into the apartment of us 5 girls and was just generally very intrusive and creepy. You’re not equipped to put your own lock and hence are always at the risk of the keepers entering your apartment while you’re not there. It didn’t seem as bad when I lived there, but in retrospect, it was a terrible deal having our safety at risk and our money gone to trash.

Don't join in any of the Colive properties. When I approached for booking they were so nice and asked me to pay the security deposit amount of Rs.3000 for 2 people and said that it was refundable, but when I asked to see the location and then pay, they asked me to do it soon because the offer was only for an hour. So I paid and when I went to the location no such property existed. I'm now asking for a refund and they are not answering my calls for more than a month.

The place is very good. I've been staying here for months and i would frankly say half of these negative reviews are fake. The current bill reviews of all are the fakest. I do agree that it is pricey compared to outskirts but generally in PG's like these, if you take a 3 sharing room for example, they all run the AC pretty much 10-12+hrs x 7 days. Plus each of them do their laundry in different times. I first thought the bill was a little exaggerated but I had to stay in one apartment alone coz the neighbor vacated and noone had checked in. I remember that my current bill was very less as i do not prefer to use AC like these people do generally. This is one scenario but there are a lot where colive velachery outperforms other ones. We did have floods during the month of dec 2023 but Ashwin was very cooperative and did his best even during these times. He had also made my stay comfortable throughout, to mention. If you are planning to stay here, please go for it as I found this to be a lot better than the other ones. PS: I'm not sure of the security deposit situation that has/ had been going on here as i did not check out yet. Other aspects are really good

Don't go for Colive. When I requested for stay, they shared me the property and asked to pay security deposit of 3000rs. After I paid and reached location, there is no such location and didn't respond my calls and msgs. They didn't refund also. It's been more than a month. These people will cheat you.

I was contacted by a colive person from banglore and they said they will book the room and amount of 1000 should be paid and then after contacting the property manager he said there is no vacancy, I tried contacting but they are not refunding such a fraud this is . Property manager GOUTHAM he never answer's my calls but he texts in whatsapp that he will check the update .. it's been more than a month ! Don't ever book or stay in this place ppl .

Worst pg and management, opposite room people were doing drugs and daily playing loud music in night, but no action was taken against them after several complaints and management (Harish and Ashwin) threatened us to leave . Please don't waste your money.

Good place to stay felt like staying at home, Rooms are really neat and clean.... velachery location..

The place is huge with all amenities like Car parking, security, Lift, cooking kitchen with vessels, HK staff etc. The rent is higher compared to others. Sharing the room in 7k with Advance is very costly without food. Rating : Hospitality. : 3/5 Service. : 3/5 Rates. : 3/5

Poor management. But great place to stay....should only blame the management of colive to have screwed such a good place.

Its located in main area few meters near by velachery railway station...good one sharing rooms very neat and clean bed...all r nice..price are differ from room choosing

So, the colive Golden Square PG was good as advertised except it has no food. Also, a colive sales manager named "Rinku" scammed us by asking 3k as advance and sending wrong address. Infact Colive customer service was mediocre as we tried contacting them resulting in zero response. Email or contact me for more info

This place is horrible to live, it's flooded upto neck two weeks back and it's not restored fully yet. After getting excess rent with some extra charges every month they don't even gave proper updates about the restoration work. It's even hard for us to get in to take our own things back coz they don't want to let others know the situation of the apartment and they mainly focused on that. Even a lot of things were stolen amidst all these strict restrictions for entry. If questioned about the lost property the answer they gave is 'This is what we can do". That's it. No compassion, no value for money paid. Only looting.

Worst PG I have ever stayed. These people do not have any system. Took an extra amount and they're making Monthly bills on their own, No clarification on bills, or settlement bills. I have raised multiple tickets regarding billing but they're not responding. I have cleared all my bills and dues and they keep me sending legal notices. Please don't ever plan to visit or book any slot. Worst experience.
