Upon entering, we were cheerfully greeted by Emily who took our order; a Lavender Latte and Cinnamon-Honey Latte. We sat in the beautiful garden area behind Fathom and enjoyed the glorious beach weather, sipping our coffee.

I personally have never experienced going to a coffee shop where the service of the employees make the coffee itself taste 10x better! I was visiting a friend from out of town and found this spot on Google. Was surprised by how many reviews couldn’t stop talking about the staff. But it’s absolutely true!! They were not only beyond friendly, but very informative on their craft! I asked them a question and they gave me a such a genuine response and after walking away to wait on my order, they continued to engage with me as they explained their passion for their products. (Ended up getting a whole jar of beans!) Overall wonderful experience! The ambience outside was amazing and was even better with my iced shaken espresso with oat milk & honey :) PS. They gave me a free sample of their drip coffee. Absolutely fabulous cup of coffee and was in the cutest little cup! Must try for yourself!!

Are you kidding me? How come I didn’t know about this place? What a gem of a coffee shop and meeting place. The pour over coffees (personal drip 😀) and all the other fancy drinks were delicious…and the people are super friendly. Don’t get me started on the outdoor are with the beautiful patio and the raised garden beds. 🥰

If you’re looking for THE BEST coffee look no further. Fathom is fantastic. They are total coffee nerds. Not only do you get a fantastic experience with staff and coffee . They also roast beans. They are the best place to get those exotic beans you have always wanted

Fresh, delicious coffee. Period. Roasted, packaged and brewed on site for the best coffee around. Owner and staff are super friendly. Pick up a latte and jar of fresh roasted beans.

GREAT pour over coffee and super friendly staff! The people working there were very helpful in helping me decide what kind of coffee I would like, as I’m very indecisive. Also it’s some of the best just straight up coffee I’ve had. If you’re looking for lattes or some specialty espresso drinks, don’t go here.

Visiting "third wave" coffee shops all atound the nation is a little hobby of mine and I would definitely visit Fathom coffee again. This one is in my top 10. Super friendly staff, great coffee and great vibes!

Well worth the walk from Atlantic Ave for this great coffee. Was in town for the weekend and made the trip twice. Great coffee drinks. If you are looking for a true local coffee house this is your place.

I understand all the five star reviews. This place has some outstanding coffee/tea. We're actually probably making one more stop in the afternoon to grab a couple drinks to put in the hotel fridge for tomorrow morning since we won't be in the area. Yep, it's that good. Inside area is very tiny and limited, but there's plenty of outside seating In a courtyard adjacent to a nicely maintained garden. Oh, and the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended.

Fathom is the best coffee in town, hands down. I always get a flavored iced latte and the syrups are never overbearing or overly sweet, like they can be elsewhere. bonus points that there’s no upcharge for non dairy milk. they truly never miss!

A hidden gem in the Vibe District! I found the coffee to be a bit acidic for my taste, but I fell in love with their large outdoor patio and will definitely be back, especially as other coffee shops nearby don’t have nearly enough outdoor seating.

Fathom coffee brings a wonderful community together to share the best coffee around. If you catch them at the right time your welcomed by the delightful aroma of coffee roasting in there in house small batch roasters. Above all the service is fantastic and the drinks always taste perfect. Truly a vibe in the vibe district. It’s definitely my go to spot in the area.

I purchased a Honey Latte iced, decent flavor, they have a fair amount of flavors which most are Monin brand. Few natural flavors though. Customer service was perfect! Very friendly! Environment is small, they do share the patio seating outside, but no indoor seating. They have no natural pastries, so few options for a snack. I disappointingly will not be returning. But it was an experience! Thanks!

Fathom has become my absolute favorite coffee spot in Virginia Beach. The beans are specifically roasted to perfection and all beverages are crafted to allow for the best taste. I have been coming to Fathom regularly for the past 9 months and I can't enjoy coffee elsewhere anymore. I have gained so much trust in the baristas that my favorite thing to do now is have them surprise me with my coffee fix for the day. I appreciate them all so much. Their seasonal flavors are far better than any others I have had because they don't have that horrible artificial flavor like others do. They taste real and authentic. My current favorites are Brown Butter Toffee, Macadamia Nut, Lavender, Caramel and White Chocolate. They also make a cold foam and can add flavors to the cold foam as well! I now celebrate "Fathom Fridays" and it is the best day of the week! If you have time, head out back and enjoy your coffee out back in the gardens where you can sit at a table and crank out a little work or enjoy the scene!

They're a few different coffee shops within the Vibe District this is definitely one of the best. Knowledgeable staff, pour overs, cold brew, coffees from all over the world including my beloved Peru 🇵🇪, great patio outback, the Cyclops machine, and a very neat and organized establishment . Food options are not really available but then again the coffee speaks for itself

Strongest and best tasting coffee in VB. You can tell how fresh their beans are in every cup. Don’t need the frills or fancy food. Just a cup of coffee and they deliver everytime. (pictured is an iced shaken espresso w oatmilk).

Unfortunately, we didn't discover Fathom on our 1st day of vacation. This was a must for every remaining day of our trip once we did! I can't wait to get a cup once I'm back!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this coffee shop and was delighted by the experience. The selection of fresh roasts was impressive, and I ultimately settled on the Indonesian blue roast, which did not disappoint. My fiancé opted for an iced espresso with oat milk, which had a delightful hint of cinnamon. What really made the experience exceptional was the service we received from the baristas. They were friendly and knowledgeable, and helped us navigate the various options available to us. Overall, I would highly recommend this coffee shop to anyone looking for a great cup of coffee and excellent service.

Love the coffee at Fathom! It's the only place around here that I know of that uses organic milk in their lattes. They also have really good pour overs and nitro cold brew! They also sell lots of great whole bean coffees and offer a discount on the refill if you bring the jar back. All the girls that work there are super nice and helpful(:

Best coffee. A coffee connoisseur must stop if down near 17th street at the oceanfront. The only thing better than the selection of roasted beans is the friendly and knowledgeable employees. Fathom is right behind Esoteric and has outside seating in the back

The staff at Fathom has a passion for great coffee with none of the pretension you often find in third wave type shops. This small but mighty spot is tucked away right off of 17th Street in the ViBe District, behind Commune. Their beans are sold in Mason jars (you can return for a refund) & they even have a coffee educational display you can look over while you wait for your order!

Tried the shaken espresso. It had a really good flavor! Ladies working were very nice.
