The hotel is amazingly beautiful! It has a warm feeling and I feel like I'm in a castle! Chandeliers In my room. Very clean, very affordable and amazingly warm and friendly service! I cut my finger and the lady at the front desk was so helpful and helped me out! Breakfast was pretty good and the pool /hot tub were nice! Will definitely come back!

I have to say when we pulled up I thought, “oh no.” There were construction vehicle everywhere. It turns out they were redoing the roof. The lobby was definitely kitschy, but not in a bad way. It’s called Chateau. It has old time hunting murals painted on everything, gold chandeliers, etc. It’s exactly the look they are going for. The rooms were clean. The beds were comfortable and the in room TV was excellent. I had a problem with the A/C. It was working, just not well. It was also really loud. I went down to the front desk and the guy was extremely understanding and got me a new room down the hall. Top notch customer service. I will definitely be sending an email about him. The new room was great. It’s not the nicest, nor my favorite hotel, but for the price it’s a good stay. It also seemed like they are looking to make upgrades. As I said, the roof is being redone and I could see evidence of internal improvements being done as well.

We stayed here for a wedding reception and wedding brunch. The food is good. The place is doing a remodel so the rooms are in transition. We had a quiet and comfortable suite. It is more basic side than luxurious so that is the reason for a three star rating. Our room looked out at a small lake which was nice. Parking is more than adequate. The suite was clean and tidy.

Stayed a month ago. Far from our first stay - as my husband said, "Why would you book this place again?" It's never been a great stay, but this time... our room was on the 4th floor, in what looked a construction site within the hotel. Next issue - paper thin blankets, sandwiched in between two top sheets. Then, another fun feature - the room has an automatic light switch that brightly illuminates the whole room when you're trying to sneak quietly to the bathroom at 4am. No way to disable it. Oh wait - there's more - we were woken up at 8am (on our vacation) by the construction workers in our wing - hammering and **whistling**. Okay. Fine. It's eight - the guy who booked our room probably should have mentioned it, but we'll get over it. We decide to pack up and leave early - just to find that there was no hot water. Skip it. Pay a few more for literally any other hotel.

For the price this place is fun and unique! It is cheap because they are under renovation so don’t be surprised by things not working perfectly. Staff is kind, helpful and understanding. My daughter says it is like staying in the “ Beast Castle!”. FYI pool is being renovated so not available.

The Chateau is a wonderful hotel with exceptionally kind, supportive, and responsive staff. The rooms are clean and you can see the care they put into keeping them spotless. Also, as mentioned by others, the breakfast and abundance of options is far above many other hospitality stays in today’s world. The one thing to keep in mind is that it is in transition, which means some rooms have minor imperfections, but do not take away from the experience and service they provide. I look forward to seeing them finishing their renovations and watch as the ratings continue to consistently climb to 5 stars.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this enchanting hotel, where charm meets comfort. The pool was inviting for a refreshing dip, while the spa and sauna provided blissful relaxation as late at 11 pm. The common area with a library and a frieplace offered a cozy sitting spot. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast in the morning, starting as early as 7 am. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The big-screen TV was a nice amenity. The updated and immaculate bathroom adds a touch of luxury to the experience, making it a truly delightful stay. We loved the unique decor and overall atmosphere of this place!

The hotel has beautiful French antiques which add to the charm. The bathroom in the premium queen appeared to be freshly renovated; it was chic with a lighted, wide mirror and a beautiful walk-in shower with a marble tiled floor. The large towels were plush and luxurious. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. I was pleasantly surprised with the breakfast buffet. The eggs, sausage links, and pancakes tasted like fresh homemade food. The only thing I didn't care for during my stay was hearing the doors slammed by other guests.

The Chateau Bloomington isn’t your normal commercial hotel where you stay a night, shower, have breakfast and leave. I overheard a sweet couple saying 25 years ago they celebrated their honeymoon at the Chateau. They came back after all those years— maybe their stay was a good omen for the happy couples future. It may look like a castle upon entry, but feels like home thanks to the wonderful staff. I was helped by Julie, Britney and Yaw; each of them made my stay extra special. I felt like the king of the castle... or Chateau. They are currently under renovations— I can only imagine how the improvements will enhance the Chateau Castle. Thanks again to the staff! See you in 25 years!

An honest review: Old and big hotel! We stayed for the night on our road trip. Its pretty cool for the interior but also outdated. Except the bathroom seemed more new which was great. We had a room with a door leading to another room and could hear the other people coughing and snoring so loud all night, walls were paper thing. Beds are fine. We had to wait awhile at the front desk and service was eh. Good selection for breakfast. Great for the price though

This hotel has undergone changes over the years and I understand that it’s under new management. It had been down by the Jumer family and I went to school with one of the family members. It’s not the hotel of old days it’s still has a lot of the antiques that were brought back from Europe. It has some of the old world feel it used to be a very elegant hotel but the elevators need work and since they’re modernizing it, they need to make the front doors automatic opening. The front doors are gorgeous with leaded glass. The staff is friendly, and they have a breakfast buffet bar like you’d find at a chain hotel. They have an indoor pool and a large conference area. I recommend this hotel and I stay there when I’m in town.

Great customer service! I made the mistake of booking the best priced room online without looking at the date. When I got to The Chateau, the front desk notified me that my stay wasn't for a few days yet but she called her boss and they ended up matching the online deal for the night we arrived. So grateful! They also told me to make sure to tell the online customer service about the incident and not to get pushed around when calling to get my online booking cancelled and refunded (ultimately the hotel has control over whether or not you can get a refund and they said they would definitely grant that). Thank you very much! The hotel is having renovations done to it but it is even just nice to know that they are reinvesting into the building and I think they are giving some great deals on rooms for that reason. Definitely a steal of a deal! The breakfast was also very good!

The room we stayed in was very basic but clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. My kids loved the pool facility and the breakfast was very good. My oldest daughter lost one of her small stud earrings that was star shaped. It has great sentimental value. We looked and looked but with no success. We did inform the from desk and they were kind enough to say they will watch for it. We left our information with the front desk staff. We hope that if the earring does turn up that they will inform us. Thanks so much.

Great price. Clean rooms. Great location. Close to everything. Recent renovations have refreshed this beautiful hotel back to its glory days. But the thing that makes this such a good place to stay are the staff. All of the people are incredibly helpful and generous with their time. The manager Yaw resolved my wifi issue instantly. I was super impressed. Cindy at the front desk gave me great advice and sent out cheerful vibes. Wendy and manager Jeremy were hospitable above and beyond. This place is setting the standard for customer service. I stayed here two weeks with my kids and this was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. Thank you Chateau Hotel for a stellar experience!

This was one of the worst experiences I have had. First they put me in a room on the floor that was completely under renovation. Saws and nailing guns going off drywall all over the hallway floor. At all hours of the day. They were nice and moved me. However the next night the Heater in my new room quit and the so-called overnight manager informed me that it was my problem. Maintenance wouldn’t be there till Monday. so I asked for some blankets and she gave me some thin polyester nasty blankets from the back room. What’s more she tried to pick a fight with me at 5 o’clock in the morning. Horrid. I had stayed four days on business. She was one of the most vile customer service representatives I have ever encountered. If she doesn’t want to work nights, she shouldn’t. She was in some sort of spanks/sweatpants and looked like she was sleeping in the back room. These people are the most unprofessional people. I checked out a day early. Thank goodness. This was a nice hotel at one time. It is no longer. Stay as far away from it as possible. The rooms are cheap because it’s a dump. I will never come back. Then they were laughing at me on the way out because I was carrying a doll for my grand mother. What a bunch of unprofessional hateful staff. I hope they have a day that they deserve.

Came to town for a concert and when our flight landed early the front desk gal, Cindy, was absolutely exceptional and managed to check us in early so we could get some sleep before our event. Great location and they are in the process of updating all the rooms to a great modern feel. Wonderful value, fantastic staff and the breakfast was tasty too. Highly recommend if you find yourself in Bloomington-Normal

This place looks nice as long as you don't look too close. Only one handicap parking spot near door. Carpet in room was loose and I tripped going in. No hot water in shower(was lukewarm at best) While waiting for husband to come down, a cleaning cart was parked right by where I was sitting and it reeked and turned my stomach and I was not able to enjoy breakfast!! (Almost barfed)! Room was clean and nice size but that's about the best I can say.

At the time of this review the hotel is undergoing renovations and is pretty rough. However, you can see hints if its former glory everywhere you look. We have travelled extensively in the US and some international and the two gentlemen at the front desk (check in and check out….sorry didn’t catch their names) provided customer service up there with the best of any hotel at any price point. I hope it can regain its former glory but until then at least you can expect service in line with its reputation from back in the day.

Stayed at the chateau hotel over the weekend and I loved it! The pool seems to be recently renovated. (Will post pictures) The pool and spa was super clean and nice. Went early in the morning and had a very relaxing time in the spa. It also had many towels stocked so no issue when it came time to leave. Hotel is in a convenient area with many restaurants near by. Most of them even willing to deliver which was very convenient as well! As for the staff all of them were very polite and helped me get settled in comfortably! Breakfast was delicious and there were many options for my picky eaters to choose from! Will definitely be coming back!

Chateau Hotel is a great place to relax with the family! The employee's here are polite and seemed to know what they are doing which makes me feel much more at ease each time I come here. The rooms are also good, very tidy and cozy which is a good combination that other hotels I've been to struggle on that. I went to the pool area multiple times throughout my stay and it looks just as good as the pictures(there is a bug problem, I would only assume because of the doors that lead to outside) and the jaccuzi is also relaxing(there needs to be a limit to the amount of people in the jaccuzi because it is quite small and the a big amount of people in there would lead to issues to ensure.)

I stayed at this hotel with a group of lady tennis players...we were in town for a USTA conference. Everything about our stay was wonderful. The newly renovated rooms were lovely with a walk-in shower that had a hand-held shower head--YES! The people at the front desk were very helpful and friendly, and we used the beautiful lounge area for group meetings without any problems. But staff truly went out of their way to return to me 5 items of clothing that I had forgotten in the room. They took these things to a UPS store and I had my stuff back in 4 days!

Overall the location was great; the staff were attentive and friendly, the rooms were clean, and the prices were very reasonable for the service provided. While checking in, Roxanne, was incredible. She was very knowledgeable about the location as well as very friendly. I definitely recommend the Chateau to anyone looking for a hotel in the Bloomington-Normal area!

Cool vintage hotel with a 1700-1800’s vibe. Loved the memorabilia everywhere throughout. The rooms have great features to warm up food with a nice kitchen sink. Sauna wouldn’t work in the Woman’s bathroom in pool area, and an elevator nearest my room was down that would’ve been convenient, but overall I had a comfortable stay.

We had a very lovely stay. We have wanted to stay here for quite some time ever since my daughter attended Illinois State University. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable with nice linens. They had the best complimentary breakfast that we have had at any hotel. It was set up very nice. Everything was hot and tasty. The staff we’re all very friendly and make sure we have everything we need it. We will definitely book again. Great place to stay.

Le Chateau is great! While it looks a bit dated on the outside, the rooms and bathrooms are being renovated, and everything is spotless. The service is excellent. Jeremy at the front desk got us an early check in which was great after hours of travel. Great as a business hotel. It is a block away from many restaurants, FedEx, Target, etc We will come back!

This hotel was by far the most unique I've ever stayed at. They had hot breakfast every day from 8am to 10am. Had a Shining and American Horror Story vive to it which I loved. Staff was friendly and the location is awesome. You have everything you need up or down the street from there. Only downside was they had no swimming pool otherwise it would have 5 stars from me. Other than that I would recommend staying.

My girlfriends and I do a yearly girls weekend. We are not the crazy kind of guests as some might surmise from a girls weekend. The hotel we originally booked wanted an additional $100 cash for being residents of the town, unbeknownst at the time of booking. We were not ok with this policy thrown at us at check in. After an hour making phone calls to find another hotel and cancel the one we were at, we found the Chateau. They were very accommodating, had a room for us, and welcoming. We were already tired from daily life and now tired entering our room! The Chateau helped redeem our weekend as we relaxed and stayed up beyond our typical bedtimes. Bonus! Hot breakfast! And it was good!! Thank you!

Loved my stay at this hotel. Cool lobby decorations, room had a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Beds were super comfy, and each bed had three pillows that varied in softness. Desk was super nice and helpful every time. Lovely, budget hotel, surprised it was as cheap as it was.

I highly recommend The Chateau. It was perfect for our nieces’ baby shower last weekend. Everything was taken care of. The food was delicious, the service was great, and all we had to do was come in and add our shower decor. The room was set up exactly as I requested, and I couldn’t be happier. Thank you to Britney for making this day go smoothly. I have received nothing but compliments since and owe a great deal of that to her. I made all of the arrangements by phone from out of state and Britney was incredibly responsive. She sent me pictures of available rooms and catering choices, and always responded to questions and requests very quickly. I might add, she accommodated every request that I made. I hope the owners at The Chateau appreciate what a wonderful representative they have in you. Very well done!
