This place is amazing. They have a ton of banjos of all types and eras, and even if it isn't your musical style, the history and how it relates to jazz is really interesting.

Do not sleep on this place. Even if you don’t like banjo music this place is worth the visit. The artistry carved into and designs on the banjos are crazy beautiful and stunning. It is two levels of banjos too interesting to miss. The history of the banjo is also interesting. I have been here twice and I discovered new artistry I did not notice the first time. “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” ‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This banjo museum was really fun to see. I highly recommend walking through it if you have time. With two floors of banjo history this place is the best thing to do if you have a few hours to kill. Once you are done you can go get some food at abuelas. You can also learn to play the banjo and buy one while at the museum.

What a great museum! Each display is a stunning work of art. I lost count of how many times I said, "Wow!" If you are into music, art, banjo picking, or just looking for something out of the ordinary, I can't recommend the American Banjo Museum enough. Also, the woman working the front counter is a peach! Thanks for a great visit!

Very very cool place. I may have overlooked Minne Pearl there and I know she played the banjo. My 13 year old son is begging to own one.

Beautiful place. Friendly staff. Admission, reasonably priced. Met the curator, very nice man. Beautiful displays! Felt very welcome. Had so much fun in the room where we could try playing a banjo. Took some cute pictures. I was amazed at how heavy the banjos were. Great variety and so well made and displayed.

Awesome experience! So much history and so many banjos. They had instruments from all eras and styles, including some extraordinarily rare banjos. They cover the history of many famous players and instruments, from the banjo’s beginnings to contemporary musicians.

I had been wanting to visit this place for some time. We finally went and it was awesome, kind of tells you the history of the banjo and the music and you can see the evolution of the instrument. There are also a lot of banjo there and some of them are some are beautiful works of art. You can also even try your hand at playing and there are tutorials available to help.

I went for marti gras at the museum. It was my first visit to the museum and I enjoyed my visit so much! Banjos everywhere, old and new with stories and backgrounds taking me through the history of banjo music and the people who played it. On marti gras night the museum hosted a local band that played dixieland and jazz. They had local artisan beer, some food and a whole lot of music and fun. I will go again this fall for the banjo fest downtown Bricktown OKC. What a wonderful night!

One of the best museums I have ever visited. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by a friendly staff who make you feel very welcome. The collection of banjos is amazing, there are costumes and other concert related items on display as well. They have a cute little gift shop with a variety of items at reasonable prices. A hidden gem right in bricktown. I highly recommend visiting here

Worth the visit even if you've never heard banjo music before. They have put together an easy to follow history of the banjo and the numerous collection of beautifully crafted banjos is superb. Catch them on the weekend and you may catch a live show with price of admission. They have many talented people on staff. It's worth your time if you like learn about history.

Love, love, love the American Banjo Museum! I have been there many times & enjoy treating friends. The displays are beautiful and special displays rotate in/out occasionally. Banjo Festival is tons of fun & other events as well. Sign up for emails so you will be informed of the many fun events at this museum. Pay parking available on the street, to the west of the bldg & behind the bldg. Close enough for handicap parking. Ramp on the west side of the building.

Absolutely amazing educational museum. I just thought a banjo was a stupid little instrument, but it has a history that dates back well into the early 1800s. It's a great museum to visit because the banjos are beautiful from the 1820s to now.

I recommend this hidden gem to anyone who loves music and appreciates hand made beauty. I was amazed at how detailed and beautiful the banjos on display were. I had no idea the history behind the banjo, but I do now! They have extensive info and visuals on hand! Even if you have never played a banjo, you will come away with an intense appreciation for the instrument. The staff were wonderful, and one even gave us a live story and performance right infrount of his office. Don't miss out on this place if you are in Oklahoma City!

Very nice museum, it’s well kept and with a nice staff. Myself and my girlfriend enjoyed even though neither of us are banjo players. It’s a trip through American history through different eyes.

Wonderful collection of ornate and rare banjos. I’ve always enjoyed the sound of the banjo, with bands like Freelance Whales and Mumford & Sons. Visiting this museum gave me a deeper understanding and appreciation of its ties to American history.

Friendly, warm, knowledgeable people on staff this rainy Tuesday. My toddler and I went in on a whim. Impressive collection and exhibits. The banjos are incredible! The intricacies on instruments over 100 years old beyond impressive… we learned a lot and had fun. I want to learn to play now. I recommend you check it out for yourself.

A great place to spend 30 minutes to an hour. The selection of artistic banjos is truly incredible to have all in one place. Wish I could’ve spent more time there. Nice staff, too! Only $7 for standard adult entry. Less for others

As a music teacher I "geeked out." Beautifully kept, well put together, historical, not overwhelming, engaging staff. Thank you for putting this piece of America music history together in one place and keeping it current and as accurate as possible. If you're in OKC visit this fun piece of Americana music.
