We have been coming here for years and they've always had delicious surf and turf. Our waiter was so kind and attentive, the food was perfect, we will be back.

Excellent place, went on a recommendation. Cauliflower for app - delicious!, enough for two. Cowboy burger cooked perfectly. Service was top notch just missing introduction/name. Hard to give a shout out. Will definitely return! Outside dining too!

Food was delicious, menu had a good selection of standard pub fair and traditional Irish favorites. Beers were fantastic. Live music was a treat after a couple years of covid. I definitely go back.

Would recommend this place to hangout with. Food is delicious taste like i was home. My husband bring me here just to have there surf and turf fish to satisfy my craving since mother in-law don’t like 🐠. And the cake 🍰 is 😋 😋 😋 .

I had the baked stuffed haddock. It was cooked perfectly. The stuffing was deicious with chunks of seafood and not too much butter. It came wirh a side of mashed and squash. I would definitely order this again. Cudos to the chef for not overcooking the fish!

My waitress Kelly H was the utmost professional. Friendly, accommodating, and she had a great personality. I had the clam bellies and I couldn't wait to dive in! They were so crisp, light, and not at all greasy. Great environment and plenty of parking. You won't regret stopping by.

Everything about this restaurant is amazing from the service to the outdoor patio. The fish and chips is off the charts. Fried calamari is perfect, although I would prefer banana peppers as at least roasted as opposed to raw jalapeños. Fast and friendly efficient service. They were moderately busy and food came out hot and in a timely manner.

I got Shepard's pie, and it was really just ok. It wasn't all that great. The bangers and mash are good. I haven't tried the Guinness stew yet. The soda bread is amazing though!

One of the first places we went after moving to town and the staff was so welcoming. Authentic and damn good food, solid drink options but could use a wider Irish selection imo. The live music here is exceptional, takes a great experience right over the top.

This local watering hole was a nice place to go to unwind. The menu options were pretty good and the service was exceptional overall.

Love the Chieftain! Had lunch there today. Clam Chowder and a side salad. The Chowder was thick and hot. Perfect! The greens on the salad were fresh with homemade croutons. I really enjoy the Irish music playing in the background. Great local place! A+

Stopped here for a quick drink. Great service and loved the atmosphere. Didn't order food but what we saw looked delicious. Definitely going back, close as you get to a true Irish pub.

Came here last Saturday after leaving the casino where the only sit down restaurant was an oyster bar and the prices were outrageous. Much better atmosphere, prices and the waitstaff was on top of everything from drinks, food and they were setting up a band by the time we left. Been here before, but don't usually travel that stretch of Rte 1 so it's forgotten about. Will definitely be back. I got the shepherds pie and she had the rueben sandwich but I forgot to take pictures.

Hard to find a place that serves Irish beers. They’re always friendly. Love corn beef and cabbage wish they had broth for it.

Interesting pub selection, and it seems homemade, not trucked in. Lots of Irish fair, but other choices too. Music was too loud for those trying to talk. Wonderful Irish soda bread! Accommodating for food restrictions.

Food was really not seasoned well at all. It was very bland for the most part The service however was phenomenal and the atmosphere was confusing. There was a lot of everything everywhere. Very eclectic just not to my taste. The calamari was chewy and the breading kept coming off it. Very expensive. Not worth it to me.

This place is beyond amazing. Skip the big chain restaurants and go here. Amazing food fantastic drinks and the service is unrivaled. Oh and don’t forget to have Lynn one of the owner make you an Irish coffee. This was by far the best Irish coffee I have ever had !! If I could give more than 5 stars I certainly would.

I like this place. Cozy little Irish pub feeling with friendly staff . The food is what you would expect from a pub, got its burgers,fries, and they also have specials everyday to choose from. On weekends they have live music to go and listen to, have some beers with your family and friends and just relax. Fun place to go if you get the opportunity.

Very happy with the atmosphere, very traditional Irish pub feeling. Great menu, reasonable prices, and the food was excellent. We ate at the bar and never felt rushed nor neglected. Food was piping hot. My SO had a special of the day mexican chicken dish and i had a traditional Shepherd's Pie. Both were outstsanding. Note that they do not use cheese on top of the pie, which is how i like it. They do offer gravy as a topping. Great selection of beers. We've been here several times before and will definitely return.

Best Steamers anywhere consistently.

Tried the Chieftain in Plainville MA tonight. This Irish pub style restaurant was very homey with warm wood tones throughout. They did a great job with keeping up with all the rules and regulations in these changing times. They give complimentary Irish soda bread to start which was delicious. There was a limited menu (see pictures). We ordered New England clam chowder, callan steak (with mashed potatoes and carrots), and Dublin chicken pasta. Everything was delicious, the sole complaint was the steak was ordered medium but came out closer to well done and it had a bit of gristle and fat. 12 oz steak had about 6 oz of edible meat which was actually the perfect amount. Definitely a 9 out of 10. Really enjoyed our meals tonight.

I arrive at this marvelous restaurant every couple of days as I enjoy the ambiance that is exist in this place. The team is very cordial and qualified. The service is absolutely efficient. Also, the food they prepare is magnificent. I visited more than once and I was never disappointed. The payment is fair. I suggest this restaurant to to everybody.

I ordered the Scallop and Spinach pie. Barely any spinach only a few scallops. I had to cut my mash potatoes with a knife since they were not properly mashed huge hard chunks. Food was cold. Overpriced and undelivered. Will not be returning.

My wife had the fish tacos, I had fish and tips, my kids had grilled ChZ and everything tasted good. The service was ok, not bad but not great either.

We have visited this establishment many times over the last year. Most of the time is a good experience, however yesterday was not. We ordered our usual bucket of steamers. It took a long time to come out, and when it did they gave us vegetable oil instead of butter for dipping. When I brought it to the waitresses attention she said it was burnt butter. You can tell by look and smell it was oil. Then she took about 15 mi s to bring us butter and it was very little. She said "I know you will need more when more is melted I will bring to you" . Did not see her again. I had to track down our server to get our bill. The server said sorry we are short staffed. SORRY TO HEAR THAT, BUT CUSTOMERS SHOULDNT HAVE TO BE MADE AWARE. WE ARE STILL PAYING FULL PRICE FOR FULL SERVICE.

I have been here numerous times over the years. Generally the experiences were really good. Tonight I had the baked stuffed haddock. The fish was bad, strong ammonia smell. The mashed were cold. I was on a time constraint and I just ate it knowing that I should have said something. Our waiter was very friendly and was definitely concerned when I let him know. I know better and should have sent it back. I'm just praying that tonight isn't like that scene out of Bridesmaids where they were trying dresses on. I normally wouldn't leave a bad review, but the cook should have known better. It was pretty obvious. Disappointed to say the least.

Went in the day after St Patrick’s Day. Just to preface, it was super busy. Atmosphere os awesome. Really enjoy the music and vibe of this place. Had to wait about 30 min for a table for 4. The wait time was accurate.. Food is average. Everything we got was ok. Nothing really amazed us. It was good. We were charged for food that was never delivered to the table. The waitress fixed that. Be sure to check your tab. Also was charged per soda. No free refills I guess.

The BEST muscles I have ever eaten, and the clam bucket is to die for too! Fantastic food, interesting decor, a very homestyle establishment where everyone is treated like family and fun is always had. You need to get their seafood! Whoever is in that kitchen is one talented chef for sure, and the staff here? They're all amazing, friendly, and accommodating. You won't regret coming here whether it's for food or just drinks.

Great little pub with ok food. Awesome Guinness pour. Nice decorations and ambiance. Very nice and attentive waitress. Just not a huge fan of the food - but realistically I don't care for Irish fare so it could be awesome, just not for me.

Had reservations for 9. Very hot inside, not to great a/c. Service was super great, good team work. Not to impressed with the Bangers and Mashed, they were breakfast Sausages. Otherwise ok. Burger was large, Fish and Chips very good. Roast was also good.

Food was great did good job during these tough times.

My husband and I threw a rehearsal dinner for 30 people on the porch this weekend. The staff was so accommodating, the food and drinks were great and timed well, no easy feat on a Friday night of a holiday, weekend! We had the best time and are very impressed with the Chieftan and it's staff!

When I want to celebrate something, date night, hang with good friends... there is no place I would rather go!!! Love the atmosphere! If you can get a seat on the bar side (sweet), if not it is still awesome. The Guinness flows cold and creamy. You can't go wrong with what you order either. From steamers to bangers & mash or Guinness stew to fish & chips...Duffer's Delights (steak tips), everything is cooked to perfection. Specials every night. Friday's and Saturday's there is live music. They never disappoint. Sláinte!

Wasnt to impressed with the place. Have driven by it for years and have wanted to try it, people gave me mixed reviews about it but I wanted to try it for myself. When we went they didnt have a lot of there menu available because they didnt have the ingredients for it. The waiter told us their boneless chicken is pre-made before coming there and honestly you could taste it. I got the chicken parm, the noodles were extremely hard, the sauce was like a soup and the chicken was like a rubber chicken. Definitely wont be coming back here

There was a party that was going on, it was busy and me and my boyfriend and my 4 month old baby where waiting 20 min and was not asked to be seated because the waitress claims she thought we where with the party. But we where clearly waiting with no food or drink in hand and customers even asked how long the wait was to us in front of the waitresses that ignored us. I used to come here all the time with my dad whom died the week of Thanksgiving this year. Was here today to give it another chance The service. And the waitress was unfriendly and I asked for a box for the streamers and she had told me they don't do streamers to go. But last time I went they did. So now I won't be back, sorry to the owner, used to be my dad's favorite place but the service just isn't good anymore.

Overall my experiences here have been great. Delicious food that always hits the spot and great atmosphere and interior design. I’ve almost always had wonderful service; the one time I’ve had a complaint is that one night me and my girlfriend came in. The sign read “wait to be seated” and we waited there 20 minutes with multiple staff members passing us by, and yes I’m sure some of them were hosts or hostesses that could’ve let us know what was going on. We eventually were seated and told that someone would be with us soon. We waited another 10-15 minutes until we just got up and left. I haven’t been back since that time unfortunately, but I’m sure the food is still high quality.
