Today was my first visit to this park and I loved it. Took my dog and we walked all over the trails and made our way to the water and sat and just enjoyed the view. After a while we headed back and laid out on a blanket in the grass and enjoyed the day. The dog parks are huge and there is tons of room for the dogs to play. They even had an agility course for the dogs. It was my first trip but it won't be my last.

Good for peaceful walking. It has a playground and a dog run. Free parking. Restrooms are closed very early

Great place to visit with your dog. They have 3 separate dog runs (large, small, and agility). You have to walk a sandy trail to the waterfront. Wear solid walking sneakers that you don't mind getting dirty and muddy, especially while traversing through the sandy beach area which was covered with muck and seaweed, but was perfect for my pooch! Also, take some bug spray as the mosquitos are ferocious. My dog and family loved visiting and will definitely be back.

One of the nicest dog-friendly park in LI. Plenty of free parking space, playground for kids, covered picnic tables, dog run, hiking trails, unisex restroom. Adequately clean and maintained. Highly recommended!

Absolutely love this park. I come here as often as I can. I love this hiking on all the trails they offer. He only thing I don’t like is there’s a certain part of the year where is just absolutely full of mosquitoes. And they’re just so bad you can’t walk it like it they’re literally biting you so hard it’s painful and I just have to leave. but other than that I absolutely love this park a great place to bring your dog for a walk and a little dog section it’s beautiful. Had a great little picnic area and they also had Greek seating that’s around the park too. Highly recommend if you’re looking to get into hiking it’s a great starter location. Also after at the end of a very long trail there’s a little beach hood and you can see the water and the bridge it’s absolutely gorgeous

What a great place with something for everyone! Our dog is dog friendly but not into the dog park scene. So instead we walked the tails to the beach and laid on a blanket which is way more her scene!

Who knew?! What looks like a nice small park actually has a wonderful walk to the Great South Bay. Very peaceful and open space to enjoy the fall season. And...the dog Park is a great open space to run, toss the ball and meet other dogs!

Nice flat County Park WITH WALKS AND TRAILS down to the Bay. Dog friendly. Prepare to get bitten by bugs. Small isolated Beach WITH views of Fire Island.

Love that they have two different enclosures for dogs, one for big dogs and one for little ones. My jack russell loves it and I don't have to worry about a bigger dog hurting him.

Amazing place to visit during the warmer season. Beautiful nature walk leading to a dog friendly beach area. Don't recommend after or before a storm. The water and tide get harsh, and the beach gets very dirty quickly.

This park offers not one, but two areas where our furry friends can play and have fun to their heart's content! one for small puppies and the other for a little bigger digs. If your dog likes to play with other dogs, this is a good park for them to get all the energy they have.

This is one of our favorite parks… we love the trail down to the water, and also the three dog parks for them to run free. Beautiful scenario everywhere you go… nice playground if you come with Kids. Careful with ticks tho!

It's not my favorite park, but dogs are welcome here (on leash) or off leash in one of two roomy dog runs. The ground is consistently marshy, so bring a rag to wipe off your dog's paws in the parking lot before getting back in the car. The geography is a mix of scrub Forrest and Marsh, but the main trail will have the Fire Island lighthouse blinking at you every 7 seconds, and ends at the Great South Bay. There you get a sweeping view of the water that will clear your head.

Great dog friendly park. A lot of trails and leads down to the water. There's a separate dog park and playground as well.

It probably the best ever dog park on long Island. They have I believe two large fenced in areas to right upon entering. People walk to water w there dogs. It's not really a beach area park cause the terrain and layout at the water is muddyy at times w low tide. Great trails to walk very nature friendly like a central park of the south shore

Great location to bring your dog and let them have a bit of an adventure through the trails. Everyone we have encountered at the park have been friendly. If your dog is inclined to take a swim there is east access to the bay for them to do so.

Place has changed a lot over the time. Really nice place to walk along the trails either w a friend/alone or w your best friend dog :) just be careful on rainy days bc your pup will be covered in mud 😭

  • 1/5 Sim L. 1 year ago on Google
It’s a swamp, not a beach. The water swallowed the sand and the swamp got bigger and smelly. Probably a good walk in winter but in August was bad. The dog run is small for the big dogs and big for the small ones. Dirty too. There was a water fountain but not drained so the lake around was growing, making the water source useless. Lots of potential but badly administrated, thus free. Who would pay for it?

Real nice to walk on flat trails, see some wildlife. Good with kids and dog friendly! Tip: great photo op at the south end of the main trail of the Fire Island lighthouse. Sunrise is best

A wonderful park for all to get exercise or sit and take in beautiful scenery lots of green blue skies, on my favorite sunshine days . Bring your favorite chair to sit in dog park ,or under cover to enjoy a meal share a recipe with family or friends. Parking close to dog park, outdoor tables and grills, to set up for a afternoon stay. Come and take a pause!
