The facility is nice and parking is great...however, when I enrolled my child in swimming lessons, I was met with instructors that came late or not at all, and poorly led instructional lessons. My child attended for 8 weeks and all she did was walk across the pool. Literally. Walk. Across. The. Pool. I recommend mapping out lesson plans and strategies that meet the needs of your child with the Director and instructor prior to committing to lessons...or you may end up with a master pool walker.

The Good: Free Parking for 3 hours pay after. Has a pool, sauna, steam, maintained cleanliness. The Bad: Pool regularly shuts down and turns green or constantly rented out to local teams so that big pool now only has two lanes so good luck using it. Also be prepared to be yelled at by overbearing and unfriendly pool management "Jamall" that constantly threatens to cancel your membership, Shirtless trainers on the gym floor recording themselves and others or in the mirror loving themselves expeditiously. I really wanted to like this place but after 1 year I'll be canceling.

This sports/fitness facility is located behind Starrett City, notable as an event venue as well. Most staff was very helpful and accommodating during the annual hat show/pageant. The building is well lit with natural lighting and equipped for accessibility.

A Comprehensive Review of Brooklyn Sports Club: Your Ultimate Fitness Destination As someone who actively seeks out exceptional health and fitness facilities, I was thrilled to explore the Brooklyn Sports Club. Having now experienced its many features firsthand, I can confidently state that it lives up to its promise of helping its members "live better". From the moment you step into the 100,000 square foot facility, you're met with an air of excitement and energy that's infectious. The Brooklyn Sports Club provides a comprehensive range of facilities that cater to diverse fitness needs and preferences. The fitness floor, spanning over 10,000 square feet, is equipped with state-of-the-art gear from renowned brands like Keiser, Precor, and Gym Rax. This expansive area with top-notch equipment makes it stand out from many other exercise facilities, providing ample space and tools to get a well-rounded workout. The swimming facilities are a particular highlight. The 25-yard indoor lap pool, boasting six lanes, is one of the largest in NYC. It's ideal for both serious swimmers and those who wish to unwind after a strenuous workout. There's also a dedicated training pool for aqua aerobics, perfect for those who prefer a low-impact, yet effective workout. I was particularly impressed by the kiddie pool area – a safe, fun space for young ones to splash around and enjoy their first swimming lessons. Speaking of lessons, Brooklyn Sports Club offers a host of instructional classes. I was fortunate to work with Jordan, one of their swimming instructors, who was patient, dedicated, and highly effective in helping me improve my swimming skills. His expertise and commitment to his students are commendable. The club also boasts indoor and outdoor basketball courts, catering to sports enthusiasts who enjoy a friendly game or a competitive match. The outdoor sun deck with a partial awning is an excellent space to relax and catch some sun during the summer. Martial arts and boxing classes for both youth and adults add a unique and dynamic touch to the club's offerings. The boxing studio was a personal favorite of mine, providing an excellent opportunity to learn new skills and blow off some steam. The five group exercise studios offer a variety of classes – from strength and cardio to mind and body workouts. The personal training and small group training options ensure that everyone can find a workout routine that suits their individual needs and goals. The locker rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with steam rooms and saunas for post-workout relaxation. The additional facilities like the children's party space and meeting room rentals add a community-friendly touch to the club. Convenience is also a significant factor in the club's favor. With free on-site parking and a location just off the Belt Parkway, it's easily accessible and hassle-free to visit. In summary, the Brooklyn Sports Club offers an exceptional fitness experience. It's more than just a gym – it's a comprehensive health hub that caters to the whole family. The combination of top-tier facilities, a wide range of classes, expert trainers, and a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere makes it a standout choice for anyone looking to exceed their fitness goals. I wholeheartedly recommend swinging by and booking a tour – seeing is believing, and I am sure you'll be as impressed as I was. The Brooklyn Sports Club is not just a fitness facility; it's a community, a lifestyle, and much more.

On July 9th I went to the BSC location to join. Not only was I verbal harassed by one of the BSC employees named Daniel ( he inquired about my sexual orientation, made misogynistic comments, and even asked if I walk around in the nude). He violated my privacy by giving out my phone number to a gym member. When I reported this information to EVERYONE in management NOTHING was done. One of the managers even down played the verbal harassment. Please I urge you DO NOT join this gym. I am highly disappointed to say the least. All the other reviews states management is not existent and this is true. The facility is poorly kept, the ceiling is falling in the women’s locker room and the saunas are broken. Brooklyn Sports Club do better!

The number one product any business offers - first - is excellence in customer service. Under this new management, the swim teacher who taught for more than 40 years quit, the light skin west indian black woman who seems more concerned with entertaining young men and disrespecting paying members is a manager, and the list goes on! People come to a gym to heal. Most day staff are cordial. What needs to change in leadership! Period!

Poor, Management and Maintenance doesnt follow up regularly, something is always broken. Broken machines all around. My wife literally couldnt go into the sauna due to broken areas. With all of the money they receive from members they should update the facilities. Reached out to manager and never received response. Do Better- Be Better.

First day here and everything went well. The sign up process was smooth, the facility was clean and not too crowded. There's tons of amenities like a swimming pool, basketball court and sauna! The fitness area had all of the equipment necessary for a great workout, from strength training to cardio. As a plus there's also a free parking lot for members! I highly recommend this gym, no complaints at all.

This place is clean and the staff is very courteous. The facilities are up to date and the pool is beautiful. The only drawback is that during peak hours the pool is only available after 8pm. *(Update)* I have noticed that once things break they do take a long time to be repaired. The sauna has been down for quite some time. The other members have bets on when it will be back up again. 3 months seems to be the running number.

Go to another gym. It’s $69 a month and the gym is average at best. You can barely get a discount if you’re not living in the area or if you’re not a city employee. It’s old as hell inside and nothing is updated, the pics used are old. Please don’t be fooled! It’s far from transportation, only buses available are the B83 and B82/82-SBS. The pool is almost always used by kids apart of the swim club, so there’s only a lane or two for the gym goers. The sauna and steam rooms rarely work. The bathroom needs to be renovated, the ceiling is caving in and has the brown residue from water pooling. The showers are old. With all of the money they get, the infrastructure of the gym should have been remodeled. When I first joined two years ago, I thought the gym was okay but there are better gyms around. Go somewhere else, like Equinox where I will be going since I canceled my membership. Management is non existent. I also got tired of some of the men who treat the place like a hangout. Not worth the price at all. Also, some of the members have terrible attitudes. Wasn’t worth it to me and I won’t miss it.

My daughter started taking swim lessons there a week ago. With her first swimming instructor I was very disappointed. I then began to regret ever having put her in swim at the Brooklyn Sports Club. And then…something wonderful happened! When she went to her swim lesson today, she had a different instructor, and he was AWESOME. My daughter did so well! I no longer regret putting her in swim at the Brooklyn Sports Club. Thanks Instructor Dylan.👌

MY ONLY ISSUE IS THE BASKETBALL COURTS BEING SLIPPERY with dust, rubbish, gum, and bottles. This makes it impossible to enjoy the flow of a pick up game. The constant wiping back and fourth - fourth and back of the bottom of your sneaker rigorously to prevent a bad fall or injury. This is unsettling as a an athlete or a person who wanted to engage in the play of basketball. The courts aren’t always dusty because they wax it once a year. This wax usually lasts about 3 months give or take but that isn’t enough with there being 9 remaining months to make a year. The staff is friendly and ecstatic. The weight room is modern with the quality of machines. There is a turf provided to workout in a alternative setting. The pool is state of art with affluent temperatures and it is cleaned regularly. They have a sauna and steam room that are petite but works immensely for the size. Drawing back to the pool, it is the most maintained in the gym besides every other department. I believe this because it generates a-lot of income unlike the basketball court. Which brings me to the conclusion of why us members who use the basketball courts are ministered iniquitously.

Nice friendly staff, however the maintenance crew needs to be mindful of the customer's comfort and SAFETY. Offense #1. They leave the doors open on the pool deck while people are swimming and getting ready to swim, letting cold air in. When I bring it to their attention, one of the guys states that we're bringing in tables from outside. No problem I let that one slide. Offense #2 and the FINAL MOST SERIOUS OFFENSE. They decide to add COLD WATER into the pool while people are swimming. As I am swimming into the DEEP end of the pool, the water suddenly gets cold. Naturally I panic while trying to get out of there asap, thus causing me to choke on water while trying to get to the warmer side of the pool. The life guard then has the nerve to walk over and ask if I can swim and when I explained that I wasnt expecting cold water, he nonchalantly states, "well they are filling up the pool." Just cancelled my membership and have no intentions on ever returning.

NYSC Membership doesn’t work here! Was charged $20 for daily pass. Nice, clean, fully equipped Sports Club. Huge swimming pool with sunbathing area. Steam and dry sauna rooms. Affordable monthly payment. Strongly recommend for people who leave close by. 👍👍👍

Love it, friendly, big pool, my son has learn to swim 🏊‍♀️ in this gym. He also does martial arts here! This a God sent facility for the community. A bit pricey but that keeps the bad weeds out if you know what I mean.

The management of this facility has deteriorated. Group swim classes are difficult to get into, due to a limit of 4 students per class and there are only 4 sessions available over the weekend. When you do get your child into a class, quite frankly 30 minutes isnt enough time to learn anything when some time is also spent "playing". Now, on to private lessons - Ive been trying to schedule private lessons for MONTHS - NO ONE RETURNS A PHONE CALL. IVE EVEN FILLED OUT PAPERWORK AND SIGNED ON THE DOTTED LINE...NO ONE HAS CALLED TO SCHEDULE A SESSION. Group excercise - not enough mid morning courses for people who are still working from home. Limited spin courses. There are no open swim sessions. I can go on. This gym is STILL offering basic services so there is no value in paying the money for membership.

The gym is pretty clean and they use safety protocols In regards to protocols. Everyone wears a mask during visit and you have to wipe down using the sanitizing wipes after use.

I honestly love this gym. As someone who was worried about starting the gym at a certain weight & while a pandemic is still going on I really easily felt comfortable here.

Do NOT rent out the rooms for a party. The room was messy when I arrived (literally found a sock) and after we left it cleaner than we found it, they are keeping our deposit because we “scuffed the walls” this comes after a lady said the room looked great after we left. Staff was also very rude on the phone and is saying it is $200 for a scuff even though they refuse to show us photos!!

Probably one of the best deals when it comes to fitness in Brooklyn. Olympic size swimming pool, with detached kiddie pool. Great state of the art fitness equipment and of course, separate men and women steam and sauna rooms. Also plenty of secured parking spaces.
