Before
Quarantine
I
think
FuXingMei
Sushi
House
will
always
have
a
special
place
in
my
heart
because
it
was
the
last
restaurant
we
were
able
to
dine
at,
BQ.
My
fiancé
and
I
were
running
errands
on
a
Friday
night
(aka
going
to
BJ's
and
Walmart
because
this
was
when
the
pandemic
was
starting
to
get
bad,
and
we
figured
it
would
be
less
crowded
on
a
Friday
night
than
on
the
weekend)
so
we
decided
to
go
somewhere
for
AYCE
sushi
afterwards.
I
found
FXM
via
Yelp
while
searching.
It
was
relatively
new,
had
good
reviews,
$23
for
AYCE,
and
had
sashimi
-
we
were
sold.
We
finished
late
so
we
didn't
get
to
the
restaurant
until
9:30
and
there
was
still
a
good
amount
of
people
dining
there
at
the
time.
Service
was
attentive.
They
immediately
gave
us
a
menu
and
food
items
came
out
pretty
quickly.
Although,
we
found
some
items
were
missing
from
time
to
time,
maybe
they
were
really
doing
us
a
favor.
We
started
with
some
kani
salad,
seaweed
salad,
and
miso
salad.
No
complaints
there.
Then
we
ordered
a
bunch
of
rolls.
We
had
a
game
plan
prior
to
going
in.
Usually,
when
we
go
to
these
AYCE
places,
we're
starving
and
tend
to
order
a
lot
of
rolls
without
even
thinking
about
it.
But
this
time,
we
looked
at
the
menu
the
night
before
and
picked
the
rolls
we
wanted.
I
can't
remember
all
of
the
ones
we
ordered
but
there
was
definitely
the
Spider-Man
(soft-shell
crab
tempura,
avocado,
crab
meat,
topped
with
spicy
tuna
in
miso
sauce
&
eel
sauce),
American
Flag
(spicy
yellowtail
japaleno
inside,
topped
with
shrimp
and
salmon,
avocado,
and
spicy
mayo),
Edgewater
(tuna,
avocado,
cucumber,
topped
with
yellowtail
scallion,
seared
salmon
and
jalapeño
sauce),
and
Crazy
Tuna
(tuna
&
avocado
on
top
with
spicy
tuna,
seared
tuna,
served
with
creamy
onion
sauce).
To
be
honest,
they
all
tasted
pretty
similar.
Maybe
it
was
the
sauces
and
avocado
that
covered
everything
up.
But
we
ordered
a
load
of
sashimi,
and
honestly,
that
was
my
favorite
-
especially
the
white
fish.
Maybe
we'll
make
this
the
first
place
we
dine
at,
AQ.
Tip
-
I
usually
make
it
a
point
to
skip
the
cooked
foods
at
these
types
of
places
but
against
my
better
judgement,
I
ordered
the
fried
oyster.
Don't
make
the
same
mistake
I
did.
