1st thought walking in...what a dive, but that's what I grew up on in the old 1st ward....food absolutely delicious. Shepherd's pie is one of the best I've had from Boston to Galway, Buffalo to AZ, Dublin to Chicago to Edinburgh. I thought I seen a post that stated "similar to ulrich's". Well I know that place, so I thought I'd give this place a whurl. I been very disappointed on my journey from bflo to my former home of many years. This place did not disappoint. If your missing the friendly"mind your own business", unless I talk to you bar patrons and food. Then this is definitely the place. I will come back time and time again...

What's left to say after over 1,000 reviews. Not a lot of people in the place afrer 8 PM on a Wednesday. I did notice if you are in a wheel chair, this is a most welcoming place for you! After a very difficult day the frint of the menu and fish & chips with slaw will lift you up.

I came for the Irish coffee, which was amazing! The staff was super helpful and nice, the Shepards pie was exactly what I needed on a cool day. Over all homey and happy atmosphere that will surely bring me back time and time again!

Been to the Harp a few times...food and service are either phenomenal, or terrible, doesn't seem to be middle ground. They seem to be having a really hard time with staffing (as so many places are), but man is it frustrating to wait five (or more) minutes for the bartender to come back every time you need another beer. Wgile i understand the reason, Ive never seen such absent bartenders. Four stars for the hope that they can hire some staff and get back to serving customers (maybe even with a smile?).

Fantastic food. Amazing waitstaff. Could not have asked for a better dining experience. All the food was fresh and hot. We all got a wide array from chicken, sandwiches, fish, and beef and everything was tender and delicious!! Highly recommend. We will be coming back!

Enjoyed our visit! Went during trivia night around 6:50pm and the place was packed but we were able to find a table without much effort. Ordered the Reuben, fish and chips, wings and onion rings. Took a bit to get our food but it wasn’t an issue because the trivia host kept us entertained. When the food came out our onion rings were missing, we let our server know and started in on the meal. Everything tasted great! When the onion rings finally arrived they were fried to heck and not very enjoyable. One very minor negative of the whole evening especially considering the full house. Our server, Heather, said she was just going to go ahead and take them off the bill which I thought was really considerate. Over all we enjoyed our first visit here and would definitely go again. I’ve heard from friends their brunch is to die for.

My sons and I took my husband here for Father's Day and it was awesome. The spinach artichoke dip and the fried mushrooms were delish. The Bangers and Mash was to die for, the Irish chicken curry was awesome, the steak in the Steak and Chips was cooked perfectly, and the Fish and Chips were crispy and delicious. No complaints. And the service is always friendly like you expect in an Irish pub.

Came in for dinner on Sunday night. I had the Blackened Chicken Salad which was absolutely delicious! My waitress Kimberly was pleasant, prompt, and made me feel welcome as a guest. When she found out I was new to Wilmington, she warmly welcomed me and even gave me pointers on fun activities to do within the Wilmington area. The atmosphere was very chill and laid back. Never felt like I was being rushed unlike establishments up North where I am from. I will definitely be back in the near future.

Gotta say I was very impressed. I had a Guinness and the shepherds pie. If for nothing else, go there for the shepherds pie; it was very homely and well worth it. I will be back no doubt!

Great food, friendly staff. Been twice on a Thursday for the quiz, which is very good. I've had the pot pie, and the potato skins. Both very satisfying. Will definitely be going again 👍👍

I'm so excited about David Scott as the new chef. He's so very talented and worth giving the food another try. I did and was very happy. I usually get the Ruben, but will now venture out and try new dishes.

If you're down in the dumps or needing some comfort food on a cold rainy day, the Harp has got you covered. Delicious and savory Irish food, very authentic with many ingredients imported from overseas. Very dense, generous helpings, super filling, will warm your soul! Great selection of imports on tap for beer, friendly local atmosphere and down to earth service. Always a favorite spot for a pick-me-up feel-good meal 🤗

First time here. Came by for Sunday brunch based on other reviews. HUGE disappointment! Dirty plates at buffet, poor selection of foods, too much processed food, danish from Lion Foods (?). Poor quality all around. A waiter who, although attentive, did not want to be there. Will never go back Complete waste of $20 (with coffee and tip)

Irish pub atmosphere. The food was quite good and prices were not at all painful. (Recommend the Guinness pot roast - wow!) They were short-staffed the night we visited, so the wait was longer than normal. The staff were very pleasant though very busy due to staffing issues that evening.

A friend was visiting from out of town to assist with some home renovations. We had worked all day and were deadbeat tired but hungry. I suggested this place since my friend is a beer drinker and I was in the mood for some. We were not disappointed. We both cleaned our plates clean. The corned beef was seasoned just right with the cabbage not too cooked. My friend had the Shepard’s pie and after visiting Ireland, said the dish was surprisingly very good. As our bellies got full and the beer kept flowing, me: 1; them: 4 we felt satisfied! While the food and drink were excellent, the staff were amazing! They were upbeat as they serviced our patronage and our waitress engaged us as we debated on whether or not Ed Sheeran is Irish. He’s not but his father is. When I first walked in I knew it was going to be a good night as the ambiance was demure with old world charm. The lights were dimmed just enough to offer cozy and not dark. I plan to visit again as it checked all the boxes of being my favorite “Cheers” bar! Cheers as in the sitcom that used to come on tv. The Harp has my heart. Will visit again soon!

Saturday breakfast at the harp is a pleasant experience, quiet, reasonably priced, and very good. It was slow,so I was tended to quite well, the food was perfectly cooked, my eggs Benedict was good, even if they used American bacon as opposed to Canadian or ham. All in all a very enjoyable experience sort of off the beaten path, for breakfast at least. Also, menu breakfast Saturday, small buffet on Sunday...only 2 breakfast days.

Assuming five stars is an "A" rating and one star is an "F", I give "The Harp" a "C". The food was okay. The draft beer could've been colder. The atmosphere is rather dark and gloomy, being more of a local "dive" than a neighborhood bar.

It was a pretty good lunch. They did not cook the hamburger the way we requested. But this cake Sandwich was excellent. And they do have great French fries.

The Harp is one of our favorite places to eat. The food is very tasty and comforting and the atmosphere very enjoyable. It’s a fantastic place to have a meal and a brew. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean, and the food is fantastic.

Great place atmosphere is great. Food was good service was good. Can be crowded and loud. Have an outside dining area...great place overall. To get parking it is best to turn at the light and go to the back (side) entrance to the parking lot. That way you are out of traffic at the main entrance...if no traffic its ok.

stopped by for lunch and sat at the bar, was quickly greeted by the bartender & had a cold guinness in hand within a couple minutes. the atmosphere is that of an old irish pub, quaint and welcoming. i was craving shepherd’s pie and had seen previous reviews saying they had a good one — and boy, were they right! it came out piping hot, with melty cheese on the potatoes. the flavors were delicious, and the portion generous. i had enough to bring half home for dinner, will definitely be back!

Awesome Reuben sandwich! Not shy with the 'kraut like too many places tend to be. The Fish & chips was very good as well. Tried the "Backwoods Cajun" wings... Not for the faint of heart! But definitely a delicious flavor bomb! And of course, a properly pulled Guinness, on tap! Thoroughly enjoyed it!

This place could use a little facelift but the food is great and the prices are very reasonable. Our party of four had dinner and a few beers for a hundred bucks. The shepherd's pie was to die for and the Ruebens were also great. All-in-all I definitely recommend the Harp.

I've never had irish cuisine before and boy, was I missing out. The service is great and the food was fantastic! I had the shepherd's pie and my husband had the irish breakfast. Both meals are highly recommended.

Very good food and super friendly staff. Biggest improvement they need is to replace a few ceiling tiles and some simple cleaning up. If they were to just put a little time and money into the building, they would definitely get 5*. My daughter and I really enjoyed lunch here.

It was a small, but delicious brunch buffet with the best grits I have had at any restaurant. They were the perfect texture and consistency and very tasty. Our server was Sean and he offered great service, always came across as friendly and sincere, and I would definitely recommend asking for him if you dine there. I went there on a first date and Sunday brunch, sitting in a corner booth, is the perfect atmosphere. *** Went there again a second time, got Sean as our waiter, and it was even better than the first visit. He was consistent with his great service and the food, ESPECIALLY THE GRITS, were delicious. I've never had a "favorite" spot before. I do now. ***

Great mushroom appetizer, fish fry, but the french fries were undercooked. Coleslaw needs help. Atmosphere good. Shots and drinks were a bit high cost wise. Wait staff courteous, attentive and apologetic when error made in kitchen which delayed our meal.
