Fountain Practice

Doctor

😐 1 star… Changed my Dr as they were rubbish but I’ve not been able to book an appointment at all since joining this one. No correspondence since joining, they don’t answer the phone for ages. You have to race at 8.30am on the internet to book an appointment and a day has passed and still no response... People often mention appointment, weeks, time, practice,

1 star… Changed my Dr as they were rubbish but I’ve not been able to book an appointment at all since joining this one. No correspondence since joining, they don’t answer the phone for ages. You have to race at 8.30am on the internet to book an appointment and a day has passed and still no response as to when I should even expect to hear back from anyone. Terrible service. As usual these days it’s not a service about people communicating, nobody cares about actual people, just automated messages, hold music, a long queue and constantly being referred back to a website. I’m now looking again for a different GP. I only need an inhaler. No idea who my GP is, or if I will ever speak to someone. 3 stars… Updated review June 2023: I went into the surgery and they were friendly and helpful. The Doctors were very kind. The place is a nightmare to find but seeing how it goes because the actual staff seem very good.

They need to train the reception staff. No matter how nice I am they are constantly rude and short. It can be quite distressing when you are unwell. Dread calling them to be honest Update: I spoke to a lovely receptionist on another day and don't want to label them all as bad. Just a shame about the rude ones.

Had shoulder complaint and was referred to a physio called Khalif . Barely examined me didn't prescribe any pain killers and didn't ask me to come back. I did return and saw him but to tell you the truth I would never want to see him again I felt like I was wasting his time. Did try and contact the practice manager but they really don't care at all.

For as long as I remember this practice is always fully booked. They urgently need to replace the receptionist staff members, very short tempered and quick to end the conversations by speeding me when she picks up bearing that the waiting time for my call to be connected is at least 20mins. The doctors within the practice are okay but it takes a hell of days if not weeks to get an appointment or if u manage to book a consultation online (on their website) I have always waited at least a week or 2 weeks to hear back from the doctor. Strange how in person if u visit the practice it’s not even busy. It’s like a marathon, you’d have to compete against the each other each morning to get an appointment when the waiting time is over 15mins.

I never thought a surgery could ignore ambulance calls for which they have special number and consequently put people's life at risk. The ambulance staff caring for me had no choice but to go to the Fountain practice to speak to a receptionist as they would not pick up their call. Meanwhile the ambulance could no attend people who really needed help! One receptionist is beyond rude, waiting list for an appointment is currently 3 weeks, no communication possible with them even if they send you an e-mail you can't respond, the place is old and dirty, nurse has no empathy ... Stay away from this place!

Pre covid this practice was reasonable however now it is absolutely impossible to get an appointment. You submit an econsult and get a telephone call 3- 4 weeks later. You then wait even longer to see a doctor face to face, if only they think it's appropriate. Patient care is not the priority and I am extremely disappointed.

Terrible. I have a persistent aliment for which I seem unable to receive treatment for at this surgery. I fill out an online appointment booking form and receive a phone appointment for almost four weeks later. During the phone appointment , I'm told I need a blood test and that I will need to go online and complete another eform to request the appointment, I do this and receive a text message two days later to inform me I’ve been booked in for the blood test in almost two weeks time. After having the blood test, I get a text message saying I need to make another appointment to talk about the blood test results and I have to do this by completing the eform again. Complete the form. I receive a text two days later saying I have a phone appointment in over three weeks time. I will therefore need to wait three weeks just to discuss the results of my blood tests and in between all this I’m still suffering terribly with no answers. It has taken me two months to go through this entire process, and still no diagnosis or treatment plan. Moreover, no doctor has ever asked to see me in person, and every time I've tried to schedule an in-person appointment via the eform, it has been denied. A lot can be inferred from a patient's appearance alone so I don’t understand why the GPs at this surgery are so scared of seeing patients face to face?
