It was my first time at Primo, and I truly think it needs more attention. We came in on a Friday, and were immediately impressed with their menu. Tons of options, but we started off with their Birch cocktails. Cocktails were fun, somewhat exotic, and creative. We did a variety of seafood, steak, and pasta. All were amazing, and the prices are fair for what you get. We were stuffed, but their dessert was too good to pass up. On Friday’s, they have live music at their Parlor which is so pleasant and a nice touch. In addition, it was too hot but we did check out their outdoor patio which has some really good photo opportunities. Overall, a splendid evening, and very convenient right next to Six Flags.

Went there for a dinner with my wife and son. Server's were polite and attentive. Had the Alfredo with pork shank. Very good meal. It was my wife's birthday and they brought her dessert with terrific candle. Several other patrons also had birthdays and were given the same. Will definitely go back.

Went for a congratulatory dinner for our engagement. The service was wonderful. We at some point probably ordered more food that could fit on the table! We swiched up our usual orders and ordered a ton of apps and 3 entrées that we dont usually get. We also got almost every desert! We will be back! Cheers!

Late post - Highly recommend for dinner or your next party or event. I had an End of summer “Pink Party Celebration” and everything we had on the menu was delicious. The cost of the space and the food was reasonable. The service was A+. I loved that they were flexible and accommodating when I requested a signature drink and few other special requests. Dinner for 53 people isn’t easy but went smoothly. I would like to recognize the staff - Zach who handled all the details of the event. He is professional patient & courteous. Karen and Van who were our servers and I would have them serve at all my future events. The food was hot and very tasty. The party favorites were the meatballs, calamari and lasagna. Only recommendation would be to make it a little more aesthetically pleasing specifically the flooring to aesthetics to match the ambience of the main dining room.

Atmosphere was nice. I was there for a birthday celebration, there was 12 in our party. Appetizers and drinks were delivered promptly. The crab cakes were awesome, although they were tiny they were full of lump crab with a wonderful mango salsa. The rest of the food was slow cold and bland. I ordered the steamed seafood tower. I was excited when it was delivered but it was very disappointing. The shrimp were seasoned very well and was the only reason I didn't send it back.

Went here for dinner and sat outside on their patio! Great service, the food was excellent! My husband got an Eastwood drink and inspired the table next to us to order one! We had chicken Parmesan, and spicy vodka chicken ravioli for dinner, and then finished with flourless chocolate torte with raspberry drizzle and vanilla gelato! Highly recommend!

If I could give 10 stars I would. I do not have one area of opportunity to list here. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere of Primos was fantastic. Our family had an absolute blast and our waiter was wonderful. Everything we had was delicious but absolutely try the bruschetta and the chocolate cake was to-die-for. HIGHLY recommend this restaurant and we absolutely will be back!! Thank you for a fantastic experience, Primos.

This was my 2nd visit, but I left with the same impression, "disappointed". Primo is just "okay" food at exorbitant prices in a very "cool" chic venue. They definitely draw a good size evening crowd so it has a buzz but also that means the service is spread thin, and was just okay. I enjoyed the lobster bisque and complimentary garlic bread sticks that they brought out. My NY strip steak was advertised and priced as prime, but the texture was more like choice. I opted for the extra add on mushroom topping, I got a saucecup of warmed small whole mushrooms that were absolutely hideous! When I told my server, she wisked them away without comment, but left them on the bill anyway. The 4 onion rings on top of the steak were just packaged onion rings. The $20 pasta ravioli is definitely not house made, I asked for a carbonara sauce but what arrived looked like liquidy half and half of alfredo packet sauce with peas added. Did I mention they have a nice bar tho?!?

What a shame! So very unprofessional service during the holidays. Let a customer hanging on a New Year’s Eve order. The owner did not take accountability for inconsistent communication in their website and order system. I placed an order for New Year’s Eve dinner. The restaurant said they disclaimed orders where for Christmas. Their confirmation email came to me 2 weeks before Christmas when I placed the order with pick up information for dec 31st. I did not notice the dec 24th date below the ordered dishes in much smaller font. The owner said they called me in Dec 24th to pick up the food. My phone history shows no calls except for 2 numbers from friends. No voice mail. No text message. No email to say ‘we are sorry we cooked your order but it was not picked up’. But what shocked me was the owner main concern was to make sure to say it was my mistake. ‘You made a mistake’ she said. I was the only problem she had. And she ‘could make the order but would have to charge me again because they already cooked the food the week before. In her words ‘it’s about checks and balances’. Yes, it was. I am sure restaurant owners are under tremendous stress and hardship. But that is a sure way to lose more business. Make your customer feel bad about a shared mistake. In my ‘balance’ of Primo: I paid for a New Year’s Eve and had to scramble to find an alternative because I was misinformed and made feel terrible for ruining my family’s plans. She called me to send my husband back to pick up the dinner. Too late. My night was ruined even more as she again took the opportunity to say I made a mistake. Don’t I realize that?! But the mistake of ordering at Primo I’ll make no more.

Took my wife here for our anniversary. Absolutely loved it!! The food was great and the service couldn't have been better!! Would definitely recommend going here with your loved ones!

Went here a few years ago and loved it. Went in October for my anniversary and we were sat at a table with crusty pasta sauce and a dirty table cloth. Asked for a new table. They never cleaned the dirty table and sat another couple there. The steak was over cooked and the pasta was watery. I’m not sure if it is new owners, but I was very disappointed.

NO LONGER SERVED BRUNCH! Below is a good review, but things have gone south, I am very sorry to say. Attended the Sunday brunch with 19 other people and everyone enjoyed the food. There is a wide variety from seafood to prime rib, from fruit to vegetables and don't forget the deserts. Primo is an elegant restaurant on the upscale side, especially for this area. It is between Waukegan and Gurnee on Grand ave. This place was badly needed and it is appreciated. Weddings, showers, birthdays, anniversaries or any special event would be well served here. The Lake Michigan Sailing Club has used Primo restaurant many times and its always been good.

Rude manager which would not care about the customer experience and only wanted to make sure she was right and the customer was wrong. Even when trying to fix the situation all she cared about was to make sure everyone knew she was right. Not a restaurant I care being a patron to ever again.

First time here. We went for a date night. The place is very nice, staff was friendly. The food was delicious. I tried a few drinks and the chocolate martini was my favorite. I had two of those. The star of the night was that delicious lobster mac and cheese. I think I might have that as my main dish next time I go. Soo good. After dinner we sat the the bar area and had another drink to end the night. We will be back!

I’m giving this review based on the atmosphere and the other waiters that seemed super friendly. When our waiter came to the table, we asked what type of mixed drinks they had, he said “there are some listed in the menu, this is an Italian restaurant, our clients generally come in for wine.” I was a little blown away by his response, granted I was in relaxed clothing and he probably didn’t think we dined at fine establishments. Next our food was served and it was not good. I couldn’t even eat two of my three scallops. Our bread was served burnt ave my husbands food was just ok. We’ll not be going back.

The food was excellent. Our server was Luis. He recommended their special which was beef encrusted with something and mushroom something over mashed potatoes... whatever it was, it was basically a breaded steak, cooked to perfection. I’ve attached a photo. My husband ordered Lamb Chops and absolutely loved them. He always orders lamb chops and said these were hands down the best lamb chops he’s had, mostly because of the sauce. For dessert to go, I ordered the banana Nutella tiramisu. That was just OK. I probably wouldn’t order that again. My husband ordered the chocolate cake and fortunately it was large enough to share because we shared it. I highly recommend the chocolate cake.

Primo is by far my favorite fine dining in Lake County! The food and Birch cocktails are phenomenal, the service is outstanding, and the atmosphere is moody and fun. Highly recommend the Parlor Speakeasy on Friday nights for great drinks and live music! Would give more stars if I could!

Took my family here for the first time. Nice restaurant and service was very good. Some of the food took awhile but on a busy night that’s ok. Kids loved their food. Wife had some delicious risotto. The low rating is because her risotto was supposed to have shrimp and it didn’t. My lobster linguine was absolutely flavorless. And the lobster tails that came with our meals were dry and rubbery. We did enjoy our desserts and the waiter got my linguine removed from my bill so it wasn’t the worst restaurant experience. Just disappointed to get geared up for a couple of signature lobster dishes and be that disappointed. The tables around us seemed very pleased with their food so that’s encouraging. Would maybe consider giving them another try.

Where to start…from the experience of talking on the phone placing my reservation to being seated immediately and drinks on the table within 3 min of ordering. To the outstanding appetizers, entree’s, dessert and coffee, this place deserves 7 out of 5 stars. While it might be pricy, it’s totally worth it. My wife and I had an amazing experience and that’s what matters when you go out to eat. Thank you to the incredible staff and cooks for making a Thursday night dinner celebration what felt like we were royalty.

Service was really just ok. took an hour to get seated (should have made reservations before hand…) someone seated another couple at our table by accident so we had to wait longer to get seated. food was great and definitely made up for the wait! great wine, steak was cooked perfectly and was insanely tender, and they brought out a beautiful slice of cake for my moms birthday with a cool candle that SHOT flames into the air. would definitely come back for the food alone!!! thanks!

I eat here a lot since I work nearby. I have to say their service is always good and they keep the place neat consistently. Prices are fair and they serve large portions.

We had the Easter brunch. It was really nice. I was quite surprised. They had several courses, including desert. Family style. We asked for more bacon and they brought out a whole plate. Very nice brunch. I hope they do this for Mothers Day

I just had a bridal shower for my daughter in the boardroom. We had 15 guests and had plenty of room. The food was excellent, Stephanie was very helpful and responsive to any of our questions. They took care of special requests for dietary needs. Working with Cassandra was a pleasure. I highly recommend.

A very nice restaurant, fine dining the least. The ambience is very calming. The staff are very friendly. Our server is very hospitable and even gave a free dessert with a firecracker candle as a congratulations for my daughter. The food are awesome (at least what we ordered). The interior is magnificent and clean. We didn’t even regret why we randomly chose to go there, though we’re not locals — we would definitely go there again if we would fly there again. But it’s a restaurant where everyone can be more than satisfied.

We celebrated our anniversary in May and this was the best place to celebrate. The food, service and experience was excellent. The staff helped my boyfriend plan our engagement! I was so surprised, my ring was at the bottom of my champagne glass ☺️ It was a great night! Special thanks to our server Lauren and the manager for being so attentive and making it a special day for us ❤️ I cannot wait to celebrate another anniversary there.

Well a fellow coworker recommended trying this place compared to Stevens Restaurant nearby with high hopes but it was disappointing. It wasn't really bad but there was no "Wow" to the main entrees I ordered as well as a friend I brought. Only 2 items the scallops was good but not satisfying for starters. The Wagyu meatballs is so so Ok. For it to be made out Wagyu beef grounded I was expecting it to be very delicious. Again it was Ok but nothing uniquely delicious. I could have had a traditional meatball with marinara on cast iron and I would be good. The service was a bit slow when ask to have bread and water. The prime new York was a disappointing despite being cooked medium rare. It was still kinda dry and the horseradish the server suggested was too dry next to garlic bulb as a garnish. The sweet potato was actually delicious and they a generous portion that I took home for my family to have as leftover. The lamb rack which was really not a lamb rack was like a leg of lamb according to the the staff that delivered was over season with pistachio seasoning. It was my friends order and he didn't like it as much. I was Ok with it since he gave me a sample and I have him a sample of my new York strip. The beverage of mix drink with lemon was decently delicious and wine my friend ordered. We ended our dessert with this Nutella banana tiramisu which tasted like a traditional tiramisu but was good but not unique. All I know it was good but it wasn't extraordinary. I would rather go to Stevens nearby first before I come here. Maybe for the Italian dishes to give a 2nd chance but I really cut back in my Seattle Suttons diet.

The service and food are both equally exceptional. We always love our experiences here. The servers take great care to go the extra length time and time again. Their steaks are phenomenal, the filet is one of the best I’ve ever had! Even the mashed potatoes were to die for! I highly recommend this restaurant for a special night, reservations encouraged.

Coconut crusted halibut was delicious. The food and drinks were all excellent. We loved the appetizers like the artichoke dip and the calamari so much. Really beautiful when you can sit outside.

It was our first time here and it was an amazing experience! My mom had the Eggplant Parmesan and I had the 4 Cheese Ravioli which was great (I ate it all!). My mom drank the watermelon cucumber margarita which she said was refreshing. I had the raspberry iced tea which was delicious. Then for dessert we had tiramisu and IT WAS THE BEST TIRAMISU I HAVE EVER HAD!! Highly recommend this place!

We started off at the bar for a cocktail. Jay made delicious and beautiful cocktails. She was so friendly. I highly recommend her blueberry lemon drop martini. She topped all our martinis with fresh and edible flowers straight from her garden. We then sat for dinner and Marco was our server. He was amazing! He went above and beyond in taking care of our table. For an appetizer, we had the flaming saganaki. What an impressive presentation. His dinner suggestions were amazing. I had the skirt steak topped with a chimmichuri sauce on top of garlic mashed potatoes. For dinner, Marco paired all of our meals with the perfect wine. We ended the night with the strawberry tres leches. We will definitely be back. Thank you again for your great service.

I used the Khyat app to order from the catering menu. Easy to use and I could take my time deciding what I wanted before placing my order. The food was delivered exactly on time at the right temperature. My guests were Wow’d by the pinwheel sandwich tray and gushed over the spanakopita as the best they had ever had. I highly recommend Khyat Catering for parties, get-togethers or events.

My wife and I have been huge fans of Primo since they opened. The quality of the food ,the ambiance and the excellent attention to details have always been first class! The owners Nicole and Elliot as well as Marco the wine sommelier take great pride to assure that you are having the best dinning experience . A lot of restaurants have their ups and downs but Primo’s offers a consistently upscale experience!

Everything we got was perfectly delicious. We ordered calamari and saganaki for appetizers and I got the Beef Wellington in my fiance got the rack on lamb and they were both perfectly made.

I go with my wife to this place quite often! This is my favorite place to pass a nice evening. I visit this spot routinely. The meals are of high quality, the staff is friendly and the rates are reasonable. I like being in this restaurant for a good dinner.
