WORST hotel stay I’ve ever experienced. When we arrived to the door of our room, there was a pot with bacon grease sitting directly in front of our door. The hallway leading up to our room was also filled with various trash as if housekeeping hadn’t been up there in days and smelled. The room was not cleaned, feel pretty confident in saying they switched out the towels and sheets and then just left without actually cleaning anything. There was food on the wall, stains on the chairs, the bath tub was gross and definitely not sanitized, dusty surfaces, and huge tear in the bed comforter. We went to the front desk to ask if the pot of bacon grease could at least be picked up and the woman at the front desk scoffed and was extremely rude and then saying “I guess I’ll just get to it if I can” - she mentioned being under staffed, which I understand is frustrating, but not an excuse to be rude to a guest. I was a front desk agent at a hotel myself, and this woman had 0 customer service skills and was not apologetic in the slightest. We went out to dinner, came back and the bacon grease was still sitting outside of our door, while I didn’t have high expectations that it would be taken care of right away based on the interaction with the employee at the front desk, but what was frustrating to see was that when we arrived back from dinner the staff of the hotel was just sitting in the main lobby common area just chatting and laughing together and remained there for awhile that night, don’t understand how an understaffed hotel has so much “free time” on their hands, the extreme lack of cleanliness of the hotel was just unacceptable and the amount of time they spent socializing you could have easily cleaned up the trash in the hall multiple times. The trash throughout the hall, including the pot of bacon grease was never picked up during our stay so our one request was ignored. While the hotel is a convenient location, definitely pass on this place and go somewhere cleaner that actually takes care of the property.

I recently stayed here just for a one night getaway. Despite using a third party site to book the staff was amazing and there were no hitches with checking in. I guess I didn’t pay attention or know what a “suite” was and was amazed that was I essentially staying in a studio apartment. Great bathroom, bed (nice mattress,) living area and kitchenette with stove and dishwasher!!! It was amazing. The only thing that was a little bit of a bummer was I noticed a sign about renovations which I think was related to pool area. The hot tub didn’t work, it was usable but pool warm, not hot. Not the end of the world but a bit of a letdown because it was part of the reason I booked. I will definitely be back.

This hotel although a nice location is very outdated. The room has a very old carpet with stains. The furniture seems very worn .. Overall saddened by booking here.. A few other area hotels that are 5*. At check in told the rules as well as a fine of 250$ if you set smoke alarm off in mini kitchen. Immediately getting off elevator a loud alarm going off. 30 plus minutes later still ringing. Met another guest in hallway with a very frightend dog. We were told alarm on even prior to our arrival. I find it concerning , no timely Investigation and shut off. Would I recommend again Absolutely not..

Great location, and when we stayed here in years past, it was great. This time, it was indescribable. If it had not been for the proximity and the fact it was only a couple of nights, we would have left. The halls smelled, the wallpaper was peeling off of the walls, and who knows what the stain is on the floor in front of the sink is. I could go on but check out the pictures.

I had initially booked this hotel based on the overall rating and positive reviews. I have to say that it was definitely not a 4 or 5 star worthy hotel. Pros: The staff were pretty decent, the exterior of the hotel was really nice, the towels and sheets looked clean, the price was pretty fair, and the breakfast that was provided wasn’t horrible Cons: The room is outdated, wallpaper was slightly peeling, the carpets had quite a few stains, the couch was in terrible condition that I didn’t even bother to sit or put anything on it, the room had a weird smell to it, and there was hair on the bathroom floor Overall the stay wasn’t the greatest, but the location was fairly decent, however I would not recommend this place for all the reasons listed above.

August 2023: Queen Suite- This hotel was an utter disappointment! The pool is closed and has been closed for some time. (They never updated their website to reflect the closure). My children had nothing to do but play basketball ( we brought our own ball) I booked this place for the pool and free breakfast! The breakfast is the only good thing about this unkept establishment! The kitchen staff provided a great service!!! The luggage carts are all nasty ( filled with pet hair and stains). The queen bed is more like a full size bed and very uncomfortable. The sofa bed cushion is flat as a pancake. The entire establishment needs a deep cleaning from the carpet to the sofa bed. Nobody dumped the trash out front the entire weekend (trash was overflowing). A manager was unavailable until my 3rd day and I couldn’t get any real assistance. She only provided me with the GM’s email address. Don’t waist your time or money! They only get two stars because of the kitchen staff!

We had a lovely stay at the Hawthorne Suites. The staff were friendly and answered all of our questions. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good and had many options. The location to stores and restaurants was good. Also, we travelled with our dog and there was plenty of space to walk him. I will definitely be back!

This was our second stay. I'm not sure if there're under new management, but this place isn't what it used to be. The pool wasn't open our entire stay. We were told that a pipe burst, but no one was working on repairing it. Both phones in our room didn't work. The front desk (who are all young adults) were told about the phones but did nothing. Our room was filthy (see photos). I wrote to the GM, but they never responded. So they obviously don't care about their guests. They also have a van that sits out front, but they don't offer shuttle rides to the airport. Was told that no one had the keys. Safe to say that we will NEVER stay there again. And I hope that you won't either.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Believe the negative reviews. This place is horrible. The only saving grace is that the staff is friendly. The room keys don't work, so the lobby attendants bring you to the room each time. The extremely patient attenant was running to the rooms to let us all in. The room was not vacuumed or cleaned properly. The furniture is lumpy, old, worn, and actually broken. This room 240 smells horrible.

The outside of the location was kept up very well. The rooms are in dire need of upgrading. The personnel are professional and pleasant. I do not believe Wyndham was presented well at this area. Furniture had mismatched cushions and the rug was unraveling where it meets the linoleum. The fridge had deep scratches. Over all shabby.

The low prices aren’t actually available, and for what I ended up paying, this place was a straight up dump. The first room I was in was on the ground floor, had no curtains, and was constantly lit up with the headlights of people parking. They were kind enough to let me change rooms, but both were stunningly dirty. The carpets were stained, the wallpaper was peeling, surfaces weren’t wiped well, and the shower was stained in a pretty uncomfortable way. When I checked out, the woman (not behind the desk, I waited for 10 mins before I even found anyone to ask) acted like I’d kicked her puppy. Everyone has bad days, but being downright rude is a bold choice. I’m fact, I would have skipped reviewing this rat trap if the “customer service” hadn’t left me feeling like I’d done something horrible by existing in that woman’s general vicinity.

They came in in a pinch! We ended up coming here after leaving the hotel we had originally booked because that previous hotel was absolutely disgusting. This place had a room right away and not only that, but with spacious beds, a clean shower and a cozy living area. Start here if staying in Williamsville on your way to Niagra Falls!

Sunday Aug 6th, 2023 A very comfortable stay made more affordable by offering 2 bedroom suites. We travel a lot to Buffalo to see shows at Shea's and we often bring Mom. Getting 2 rooms at a local hotel used to be affordable but lately, with the prices of everything skyrocketing, it's getting harder to stay in hotels. We checked out this hotel and found one 2bdrm suite was much cheaper than 2 rooms at the cheapest hotels in Buffalo. One room had two double beds, and the other had a queen. And each had their own bathroom & shower. The suite was very large, with a family area, and a full kitchen. The beds were very comfortable, with lovely linens. There were plenty of pillows on each bed. The bathrooms were very spacious, and the shower was nice and high for tall people. there were plenty of towels and toiletries as well. There is a full buffet breakfast in the morning with coffee tea, eggs, bacon, yogurt, toast etc. The hotel has a nice gym with plenty of equipment, as well as a pool. This hotel is in need of some updates and renos, but this hotel is still very comfortable and clean. There was duct tape holding wallpaper and carpeting down in our room. Our room was adjacent to the boiler room, so there was a lot of noise. The room was pretty dark. The ice machine didn't work on our floor we had to go to a different floor. Overall, for a hotel of a certain age, the Hawthorne could use some updates, but for now, it is still a good night's stay. Other perks. Free onsite parking Pet-friendly hotel.

Krystal is the kindest front desk clerk I have ever seen. She was an advocate for me after I was charged incorrectly. She listened and during my wait for the manager, she offered me breakfast. She is such a good human being! Also thank you to Valerie, the manager. She helped me to see what the issue was, and immediately refunded my card. Thank you so much to you both. (Valerie is in the attached picture ♥️)

Michael got us a great room on the first floor. Husband is a disabled vet. One of the best hotels we have stayed at. They have grills outside for clients. Meeting rooms. Office area for any business. Guest laundry facility. Basketball quart. Kids stay free up to age 17. Our suite has a kitchenette. Thank you.

This place is absolutely disgusting. I've stayed here so many times in the past I was glad to book it at the highest rate ever experienced to get away for the one har anniversary or watching my mom die tragically, to try to forget, enjoy some time with my kids for my 40th birthday weekend. It's been about 18 months since I've been here. It is disgusting! Wallpaper is peeling, the carpets are damp. The halls look like an apartment block in 80s soviet Russia, the dishes were caked in filth and food, the clickers for the TV doesn't work, the stove burner is broken- they tried to argue that it just needed reinstalled but couldn't even do it after all. No manager exists, the customer service number doesn't handle complaints, third party booking insists I can only deal with management on location.... Who isn't in or contactable after 5. Which means I either stay or give up the whole reservation plus the cost. I just want to cry. 500 dollars for filth and frustration. I hate this place and it's looking like I'm stuck here another night or forfeit the money. They tried putting me in a smaller room where the baseboard and wall were literally failing, the fridge was knocking nonstop, and it smelled off- to "fix it" for us. I refused. The worst is, laying in bed there's knife marks in the ceiling and a bright strobe light nonstop on the smoke detector that lights the room all night. This is so frustrating.

While the property is a bit worn, the staff is amazing and accommodating, it's very clean and I would stay here again in a New York minute. I got here late at night and even though their website says they have shuttle service from the airport till midnight, when I called, they said they didn't have a driver. I understand staffing issues since Covid but suggested the should take off of their website till they can properly staff the shuttle. Even though I'm sure it wasn't in his job description, Robert picked me up anyway and I was very grateful. The room was very nice complete with a seating area, a small kitchen and they have a tub and full size coffee pot (all of which I love). I was on CA time so spent some time around the fire pit to wind down. Overall, I really like this property!

An absolute surprise - too bad we were only passing through staying just one night. The suite was perfect with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, sitting area and kitchnette. Aside from the indoor pool which most locations have, there was an outdoor basketball half court, putting green, fire pit and two grills; there was a cinema room inside as well as a fully functional gym with ample equipment. Staff were courteous and outgoing throughout our short stay.

Don't book at this ghetto hotel. The carpet was dirty with stains. There was wallpaper peeling from the walls. You can hear every single noise from the surrounding rooms. I needed sheets, blankets, and pillows for my daughter for the pullout sofa, and I had to go to the front desk since they weren't answering the phone. They told me they didn't have anything to give, and the manager would not be in until the morning. End of story I left the hotel and booked a room at a better, cleaner hotel the same night.

The sleeper couch was worn, hard, lumpy, and uneven. The breakfast was slim and cheap, and they stopped searving around 9. The smallish pool only goes to 4 feet deep, and while they have a "hot tube," it was barely above body temp. So kid safe, not adult friendly.

Price was low for what you get and the employees worked very hard. The property just needs some refresh. Doors inside rooms are clunky and door locks key cards were intermittent. Clean and service quick, but if you are a "Karen" I don't recommend.

The neighbors were noisy, thin walls, heard people upstairs running at like 7am until 10 or 1030pn. Not enough plates for a family of 4. Didnt have pans, it had skillet. It worked. Most of the staff was nice. Breakfast i wish there was more selection. One morning they were running behind and waited on Breakfast, which is fine but it like 30 minutes behind. Ran of food quickly. We did appreciate the free laundry.

Staff is great, breakfast is great, room needs a bit more cleaning. Stayed in room 320 and my 1 yr old took out a shelf of the fridge as I put juices in and our fingers were so sticky from old juice and there’s was a lot of sticky and old spill in the drawers. The floors need a good carpet clean other than a vacuum. Many dry old food spots. Our bed was very uncomfortable you could feel the springs on your back when you laid on your side. And it was uneven. You can tell it needs a new one. So we didn’t sleep very well but the sheets smelled of Clorox so that’s a plus. other than that it was okay.

Staff was friendly, rooms could use a little more time with cleaning (microwave had food left inside). Kids enjoyed the warm pool, unhappy the hot tub was caution taped off with light hanging out. Bed wasn't the most comfortable and the pull out did not have a usable mattress. Nothing great but not a horrible stay.

Checking in, customer services were great, the lady in the front explained everything in detail where the pool is, the gym outside basketball fire pit etc. We get into our rooms, we noticed walls had holes, door had holes, wall paper ripped, and crayons all over the walls. The blinds had batter of some sort and sticky. We took pictures and notified the front desk that damages are in this room. They were not aware the extent of the damage and didn't send anyone in to record it. Day 2 - Morning breakfast a huge line was brewing in the dining area 20 mins to get some stuff put out for the guests roughly about 20 of us waiting in line. Get back into our room, the toilet breaks they didn't send anyone in to fix it. Later that evening took the kids to the pool, the place was dark, towels everywhere looked like a daycare center, light socket was hanging in the pool with exposed wires went to the front desk lady said it was safe and rude, refused to fix the issues says "It's been like that for 5 years". Go back to the room irritated, 2 hrs later 10PM she sends another guest to our room and said that the front desk had multiple complaints of noise, mind you my kids are sleeping when the gentleman came in showed them the kids sleeping and he said I was just sent up to let you know, if the noise continues she will have the cops escort you out. Morning comes we asked the morning shift why we got threaten to get kicked out of noise and she was not aware of an issue. Overall some of the employees were amazing, the rest could use some customer service help.

Few minor cosmetic things but overall our room was clean, staff friendly, pool and hot tub were great. Loved the outdoor patio with grill and fire pit. A few bees outside. Breakfast was more variety than expected. Will definitely stay again.

Fast customer service 😃.Very nice front desk receptionists. Awesome as always to be there if there's anything that is needed and to just give them a call or ask. Very appreciative for a clean dining room and great tasting food. I slept good and i love the down pillows. Every day in the warm heated pool helped with the arthritis and leg cramps. I had a very good experience. I recommend Hawthorn Suites to family and friends. Thank you so very much for a very satisfying hospitality.

Key entry didn’t work had to wait for staff come to let us in. One person was sitting at the desk was on her phone and told us she would send someone to let us in. Found 2 pair if socks in one bedroom on the floor, one under the desk other side of the bed. Room cleaned , you have to wonder!! Lamp in one bedroom didn’t work, oh “maintenance will fix it tomorrow”. So no light in the room? Contacted manager she said she would ensure housekeeping would clean the room again. Next day once returned from shopping still no light and socks still on the floor. Hot tub was like a warm pool, fire pit out service Would I recommend this hotel NO!!
