The BEST place that I had dinner at in Chattanooga, TN! Upscale, elegant, and casual at the same time. The cuisine is extraordinary and taste so good! I love in Mexico in Morelia, Michoican and Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco Mexico. This restaurant reminds me of being in Mexico. There's also things on Saturday like Jazz music night. I don't have a favorite because everything is great! Great for dates, family, and friends to share a meal. They also have a HAPPY hour! This place is outstanding!! Went back to the Mayan Kitchen today and had the BEST POZOLE Roja soup since I lived in Mexico or my Mexicano wife made! The bowl 🍜 was huge and came with all the traditional toppings/tostadas! A lot of Nice large pieces of pork, perfect amount of hominy, and salsa is amazing! Had more of the Brisket Nachos and you can choose the size. Tacos Al Pastor are delicious. If you love traditional Mexican or Latin Soups the Caldo Res soup 🍲 is also amazing! The Tequila selection is the best I have seen in Tennessee. Don Julio 1942!!!! Beer 🍻, wine🍷, and 🥂 margaritas are top notch! My favorite appetizers are Pupusas and Fried Plantains. The Guatamalan White Sausage and Guatamalan Steak 🥩 are authentic! The location, atmosphere, and staff make this my favorite restaurant in Chattanooga, TN! If they advertised on EPB they would have to open another!

Separate vegetarian menu and great service We ate here recently. We were pleasantly surprised. They had a separate vegetarian/vegan menu. We ordered a Mayan curry and rice dish and a vegetarian chimichanga. Both were pretty good. The service was excellent and very attentive. The restaurant is lively and beautiful.

This restaurant is really nice inside. Love the atmosphere and the decor. We got the house margaritas, one frozen and one on the rocks, and they were really good. We'll have to come back and try their other tequilas. Food was okay. Definitely not bad, but nothing special. We ordered the shrimp tacos and the chimichanga. Portions are smaller. I would recommend ordering an appetizer or an additional side to accompany your entree.

I really enjoyed this place. The server was courteous and offered great suggestions for our group. I had the shrimp dish. He suggested me to mix both the sauces if i liked my dish spicy. It was great. Their chips was fresh n hot. The salsa was great too. They kept refilling the chips once it is done

We enjoyed a great dinner at Mayan Kitchen. The fajitas and the NY strip steak were highlights. Our waiter, Edwardo, did an excellent job. The food came put quickly and all together. It is also a good value!

Tasty food served in a nice and cozy atmosphere. Had the Arrachera, skirt steak served with a nice and spicy cheese sauce, tortilla and rice which was really good and cooked as per my asking. Portion sizes were quite good as well. They have plenty have veg and kid friendly options as well! As I went towards closing time, felt the server was a bit unenthusiastic at the start.

Upon entering, I just knew that this was an upper price range restaurant. The atmosphere is excellent, the service is mid. And the food is wonderful with a large severing. My check total was $25, and my tip was over 25%

Our server was very friendly and nice!! He recommended a great drink for us and was attentive the entire time we were there. Unfortunately they charged $4 for the initial chips and salsa (unlimited, though we didn’t need a second basket by the time our food arrived). The food was okay, good for the price but not out of this world. Would recommend the pupusas! Nice place to go if you’re in the area and want some casual food.

This was our first time here and we really enjoyed ourselves. We got there around 4 pm on a Sunday and it soon became quit full. We saw that the employees were setting up for two large groups of people. So they accommodated quickly to the incoming guests. Our server was great and really informative. The chips and salsa was so good and unique. The salsa was delicious and the chips were very good. We choose a fajita plate. We were satisfied with the portions except the meat. We choose the trio, chicken, shrimp, and steak. It was pretty light on the meat portions. Overall, we did enjoy our meal along with the service. We will go again and try other dishes!

Today my family and I enjoyed a truly satisfying dining experience. First off, I love the decor! We walk in and were greeted by very friendly staff. Then, we were catered to by Hunter -the manager- & he was so personable. He was hilarious. We each wanted to try various foods and he was very knowledgeable about the menu & able to make accurate recommendations for us. He even got the kitchen to blend the Camarones En Crema de Ajo with the Camarones a La Diabla so I could have a little spice with my garlic. There was little to no wait time for the food. Their food was definitely worth the trip to Chattanooga. We will definitely be returning 🥰😁🥳

Authentic Latin food in a nice atmosphere. High ceiling seating space was well laid out, and the bar presented the specialty liquors beautifully. Extremely long wait for appetizers and main courses followed too quickly. Benedict eggs were over done but still tasty. Perfect crepes! Family friendly.

I was enjoying a lovely meal with my family. The food was so good but unfortunately I was instantly disgusted and sick when I saw a roach crawling around. I let it slide because I didn’t want to cause a scene but I felt enraged as a noticed roaches crawling all over me and on my seat. You can’t see well but they were everywhere never been more disgusted at a restaurant

Was a good experience and enjoyed the food! Overall would recommend especially if within waking distance from where you’re staying. One of the better restaurants we visited while in Chattanooga.

This restaurant always catches me by surprise every time we go. Wonderful service, delicious food, unique flavors, and so many varieties of tequila! I highly recommend getting a recommendation from the staff as they know all about the food and the family recipes. Delicious! I also appreciate the premium tequilas are not overpriced:-) great option for tequila flights and they have a large vegetarian menu that you can ask for in addition to the regular menu.

We had the Garnachas appetizer and it was delicious! My bf had the Churrasco al Carbon, which was really good and filling. I had the Deluxe Nachos and they were yummy. We also got a Piña Colada and Margarita which were tasty!

We came here by recommendation of a friend. Oh it was perfect! We got the meal for 2 that comes with all the meats and fixings. It was perfect. They really know how to make frijoles charros . Props to their chorizo , made on site!

Visited here on a girl's trip. It was 8:45 pm on a Monday night so I wasn't expecting much. What a pleasant surprise. The waiter was very nice, food was good, great seat at a large open window, & the drinks were good. Mayan's also has take out, great bar, & atmosphere is trendy and inviting! If you want it spicy you'll have to tell them. I had the grilled jalapeños & they were great! Thank you for adding to our enjoyable trip to Chattanooga. There's a parking garage very close to the restaurant. Not sure if there is free parking anywhere close. Our parking was $8. Our meals averaged $20 ea. (Entree + drink).

Pina colada was refreshing and good. I had yuca fries for the first time and I like potato/ sweet potatoes fries better. The papusas were ok, I wish they stuffed some veggies in them along with cheese. The main course, pollo en pepain was too earthy for my liking. If I visit this restaurant again, I’ll probably try something else from the menu.

We came here with a group of 8. We got sat very quick even without a reservation. Our server was very attentive to the groups needs. Drinks were great, worth the price. Food came put fast and the taste was great. Even had fresh hand made tortillas. No complaints from any one. We will return. 06/15/23.

This was my first time going to Mayan Kitchen and it was very good. I came a little later to join my party and my friend got the Pollo Adobado which looked really good so I got the same. The food was flavorful and delicious. I think there was also pickled red cabbage on the bottom, I forgot to ask what it was, but it was so great. It gave the dish a little acidity/tanginess which I liked. We also got Platanos Fritos. Service was timely. Walking in, I was surprised at how large of a space this restaurant had. Overall we had a good time and enjoyed the food. Portion size was huge! So I left full and happy I had more for later :)

Ordered the steak and cheese dip and chips. Had to add some hot sauce for added flavor. Our waiter was awesome, and there was a band playing, so the atmosphere was great.

The wait was reasonable for a Saturday evening. The staff were friendly and helpful, without feeling like they were hovering. The food was, like always, amazing. This was an absolutely fantastic visit. We got a number of items to go and while we waited we had a couple of their custom drinks and a house margarita at the bar. The bartender was as knowledgeable as anyone I've ever met regarding tequila. There was not a dish or drink that he steered us wrong. We got quesadillas is for the kids both chicken and cheese. We also had a couple of sets of fajitas along with additional sides of both beans and rice. The amount of food you receive is extraordinary, and as for taste goes, they were as good as any fajitas I've ever had. I wish we lived locally so that I could become a regular. I will certainly be back at this restaurant next time I am in Chattanooga!

We liked the environment, and the food was noticeably fresh although greatly lacking in flavor - and the fajitas were 80% bell peppers and onions. But the weird thing was the service. The waitstaff acted annoyed that we were there without a reservation, and we had to ask for the complimentary chips and salsa after 5 minutes of waiting, while watching other customers be served immediately. Overall, if the waitstaff was more friendly and attentive, and the food had just a bit more flavor, this place would be awesome.

My bf and I went last Friday for our pre Valentine's date. We were planning to go somewhere else but they were booked and Mayan was right next to our hotel. Our wait was about 10 minutes. We loved the atmosphere and being from out of town. The staff and our waitress were especially welcoming. We had the fajitas and a chicken dish. Our food was delightful and the pitcher of margarita was worth it.

My wife and I went to Mayan for the first time today. We were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and cleanliness. Our waiter was Christian. He was friendly and very helpful with suggestions for our dinner. He was very attentive and saw that we had a great experience. The wait time for the food was very reasonable! And the appetizer and main course was great! We had dinners that were from the founders recipes and were very tasty. I might add that the food was served warm and looked great. We’ll definitely be returning!

Delicious food and fast service for a large party! Molly was attentive and our orders were accurate. Best taco salad I have ever had, and it's my usual go-to anywhere. They have a wide variety on the menu and I will definitely branch out from the usual next time!
