Well preserved piece of history. I'm glad the Homestead and mill are still there with it.

It’s a beautiful covered bridge built by the son of a freed slave in 1886. It’s amazing to go visit during Christmas with the decorations and light display around it. We went on a quick visit and saw multiple people with photographers. Obviously a family photo shoot hot spot. Which makes it a little more difficult for people just visiting to enjoy but super fun to check out all the same! There’s a playground nearby that we went to while visiting the covered bridge ☺️ really nice kept up area!

Enjoyed the fall festival and historical covered bridge. Parking was easy and organized. Festival was a short walk in an area with trees and nice shade. People were friendly, prices good, variety of vendors, and good food. Small crowds with social distancing.

One of the few covered bridges within an hour trip from ATL. Good facilities for picnics, kayaking, rafting and family fun on hot days

Just a quick stop today but plan on going back to read the history involved with the bridge and the home/land connected with it ~ it dates back to the late 1800's and it's quite beautifuL πŸ™‚

Great historical location for the entire family to come and visit. Also good access for those using strollers, walkers, canes and wheelchairs. May not be able to get into all of the buildings but to the bridge and down to the water below. There are several different buildings to enter and great places to take photos. I've done three big shoots here, now. Two in the summer when everything was great colors and lush woods all around. And one shoot, for a family, for Christmas. The place was decorated very nice and simply done. Also great time to do photo shoots. The drive out there was very pretty too. Set back into the country side outside of Cartersville. I was extremely shocked to see the nuclear power plant in the backdrop of such a beautiful place, such as the bridge though. Well worth the short drive out.

A cool piece of history. Especially love the winter Christmas tree festival that happens right near it every year

Cool 100 year old covered bridge in the woods. There is some really nice history signs to read around this site as well as a pretty river to sit next and look at. Easy to get too and perfect for a quick stop during your drive to Atlanta.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ It is an amazing spot to spend time with family and friends. I learned a lot about the park and it historical background. It is a great place to learn how to kayak. It also has a book stand for anyone who would like to unwind their minds while listening to nature. I will definitely come back.
