Today was my first time eating at Skip's, we came in on lunch break and this hot dog shop was a pleasant surprise! Lived in Atlanta for about 10 years and I never heard of this place. And that is quite regrettable. Ordered two bratwursts fries and a soda, and they were quite delicious. Despite having hot and fresh food, the service was a remarkably short wait. Fair pricing for the experience. I am definitely coming back. That's

Great place for you to enjoy some Chicago favorites in a Chicago styled fast food establishment. Great staff and food. I has a Chicago dog combo, and will be back for another of my favorites, the Italian beef. Many other items from wings and burgers to cheese stakes and polish sausage. Indoor and outdoor dining. I stopped by mid afternoon for a quick bite. Interestingly bathrooms are accessed from outside.

I’m from Chicago. I had an excellent Chicago style hotdog, tamale, and pizza puff! Looking forward to returning and having an Italian beef sausage combo with giardiniera. Awesome place!

Skips Chicago Dogs makes the most incredible savory Beef Italian Sandwich! Spices inside this meat-lover's delight emit flavor perfection. Sliced top Sirloin enfolds this seismic marvel with a textured earthiness. Sweet Tea - absolutely delicious! Your taste palate will rejoice in this hemisphere and throughout the Milky Way Galaxy. Staff delightfully welcomed with friendliness and genuine hospitality. After such a terrific first visit, I could not help but to entice full-out taste indulgence into Skips.

The hot dog was spot on for a Chicago dog. Real vienna beef dog, bun could be a tad softer and streamed better. Fries were average- standard steak fries. I would suggest switching to a crinkle cut fry- like the place in Chicago that starts with a P. Crinkle fries cook quicker and are crispy. Tamale was a tom tom and good per my wife. I had a banana shake made with real bananas and soft serve. The staff was friendly and food came up quick. A must try when in the area.

Fantastic Chicago style dogs and Italian beef sandwiches. Skips is always good. From a Chi town boy born and raised, this is one of the closest options us Illinoisians have to getting homemade cooking.

A solid Chicago dog. No complaints. The taste was on point. Seasoned tomatoes, peppers, pickle, and pepper-onion relish on top of a beef weiner. Hugged by a poppy seed bun. Service was welcoming!

Great chili cheese dogs. Some might say they were even better than The Varsity's! The coke had great flavor and the fries were good too!

Fun, local hot dog/burger stand with Chicago-style dogs. Prices have gone up recently, while the building hasn't changed in years. Recommend the Maxwell Street sausage (grilled onions and spicy mustard)

A coworker and I went to Skips, which was recommended to us by another coworker. We both ended up getting the Jumbo dog combo with onion rings. On thier menu some of the dogs have (m,k,r,o) which stands for mustard, ketchup, relish, and onions. Which I thought came with the dog but it doesn't you still have to tell them that you want them on the dog. I got chilli on my hot dog. However, since I didn't know I still had to tell them about the mkro I didn't get it. When I got my order the bag was pretty light so I had to check to make sure I had everything. It was given kid's meal to me cuz I'm thinking the bag was gonna be pretty hefty since I got the Jumbo dog. Next comes to eating it, when I opened the hot dog I was disappointed cuz it was not Jumbo, I'm not a hot dog expert but I know for a fact that thing was not Jumbo. The onion rings were ok they didn't seem fresh to me. My three stars was really for the chilli it was good but I wish it would've had onions on it. Sadly to say imma have to do like the name and Skip it.

Great food. Great service. The employees are a well-oiled machine. You see the same employees stay for long periods of time, so you know they take good care of them which is huge. This is a great, locally-owned place. I can't recommend it more highly.

The customer service was great from the cashier to the cooks. I haven’t had an Italian Beef in years and they got me together (tho I wish they had nacho cheese 😉) . The meat was juicy and the bread with the dip was just right! Thanks again for a wonderful experience and a few laughs. Keep up the great job!

This is BETTER than your grandma's hot dog stand. What a nice selection of lunchtime choices from a Chicago dog to bratwurst. And be sure to dine-in in their spotless cafe style facility. Very nice. Very cozy. And very friendly.

As a native from Illinois, this place fills that void in my soul. It's almost exactly like our favorite place up north. I go here often for our dept lunch pickup and even at their busiest, they're nice and efficient. Only warning: the parking lot is tiny and one-way, parallel to the drive thru, so it can get cramped during lunch rush

I’m truly dissatisfied with the service I received today from Skips. As a Chicago native, I was excited to find a restaurant that offered Italian beefs. In fact, Skips quotes that their Italian beefs are imported from Chicago. I ordered my Italian beef with hot peppers, dipped well, cheddar cheese at the bottom as a to go order. No more than 5 minutes later my food came as a dine in order. I requested that my food be packaged as a to go order. The beef was placed as a to go order but something said check your food. I unwrapped my beef to discover shredded mixed cheese on top that was not melted, it wasn’t dipped, and it was cold. I was frustrated. One of the kind employees noticed my frustrations and asked if she could help. Before I could even speak, the owner rudely interjected and reprimanded her for inquiring to see what my problem was. The owner without even hearing what I was about to say, yelled out “I’ll give you a refund but never come back.” I was completely shocked. The owner further stated he knew I was going to be a problem based off how I looked. Not only was the owner rude, but he racially profiled me. I really would like to give this place a half of a star based on the one worker who was kind to me and the Chicago decor. I’m a true Chicagoan and I’ve never seen an Italian beef with shredded cheese on top served cold. Skips at best is a sad imitation of Chicago food. I do not recommend this place.
