My review is from 2016 which my family still talks about mainly because we wished we had said something back then. I come from a family of nurses and the nurses there at the time were the least compassionate group I had encountered in a facility. My dad passed away a few weeks after his hospitalization and my sister and I recalled the nurse saying when we asked for a private room because his roommate was coughing constantly that “if we were in a war he would be in a room with other people.” Well, uh we weren’t in a war. What kind of response is that? She also mentioned about how we should be grateful because everything is free. Very non therapeutic especially at a critical point of my father’s life and my family’s wellbeing. My father gave 20 years of his life to the Navy and to be told that while my father was in his last weeks is one of the things we remembered the most. I hope that if anyone reading this who works in the medical surgical floor to please remember that you should provide an environment of loving care and kindness. I think the staff needs to look at Jean Watson’s theory of human caring and subscribe to the 10 Caritas process. If you don’t know what they are look it up. I hope your staff learns from my experience....no one should ever feel like how we did. It hurt my family so much that we continue talking about it til this day.

I came in to get a Covid test but was told the Covid testing site was not open due to the long weekend (mind you it is Friday before labor day) which makes the term chairforce true because the Navy actually works today, I asked if I could see my pcp and was told they ALSO have today off. Went to the Emergency Room to get a Covid test and was turned away because they said they would not provide me with one unless I’m admitted. I have symptoms ranging from a 102.7 fever the night before, dry cough, and difficulty breathing. Is this the care we provide to our active duty military members nowadays? Absolutely ridiculous.

I have received nothing but the highest level of care and professionalism. I was diagnosed with acute non alcoholic cirrhosis liver disease which in 2018 had become cancerous. I literally owe my life to Dr. JD Hoskins and the whole staff at the Interventional Radiology Clinic. These people are nothing short of genius and they have taken me on as what seems to be a personal vendetta against cancer. I have a disease that will require life long monitoring and a team such as this to quickly take action should more tumors appear. I consider these very special people a direct blessing as God has placed me within the care of devoted Christians. I have come to love and respect these people and I thank God for all of them.

the worst hospital I have ever experienced. I was informed that I had HepC SEVEN MONTHS after they had a diagnosis. It has been a year and a half & I still haven’t started treatment. No one at the GI clinic has any idea what they’re doing and overall, have no regard to for the safety of their patients. This is not the first time this hospital has failed me. I was also turned away from having a COVID test done, because I “didn’t have any symptoms.” VERY FRUSTRATING.

Went there for the first time. Had shoulder surgery, done by Dr. Scortus who I believe is the very best. I feel blessed to have had him as my Doctor. The hospital is spotless, and all of the staff were awesome. I rate every aspect higher than any private hospital I have been to, and I never do reviews.

Oral Surgery Clinic - Long waits to get appointments in the first place and multiple cancelations now. No policy/procedure in place to make positive contact in order to cancel an appointment, "we tried calling once a few days ago and didn't have your cell number" (which was called to make the appointment in the first place and cancel the last appointment, evidenced by voice-mail). As if AD military members aren't reachable at least via email. Disappointed in the clinic and their cancelation practice. Things happen, communication is important. Main Hosptial Patient Advocacy was polite and respectful, and listened to a very frustrated person...although never got the call back from the clinic's "Advocate".

I showed up for my appt today,12-5-22 at 2pm to my surprised it didn't show as an scheduled appt so I was upset. This went away after Ssgt Bongon and the other Ssgt (Sorry didn't remember the last name) helped me out. They along with Capt Brennan was able to squeezed me. This helped me a lot because of my pending travel that will be based from my Biotroniks review/reading. All is well on the result and now i can plan accordingly. THANKS A LOT!!!!

no longer has covid testing, wait times are as expecting so no real complaints there. That being said covid is a serious health risk and it feels negligent to no longer have a testing site considering the longer an individual with covid is in at the hospital the more individuals they run the risk of infecting. That's if they even are masking up properly or distancing.

(Labor & Delivery) This hospital requires significant improvement and training to handle the delivery of newborns, or at least they need to hire senior nurses and doctors with experience. Their team of doctors doesn't seem to encourage natural birth at all, providing an environment of panic/tension during delivery. Improvements; On 30 JUNE 2021, the delivery of my baby girl was induced three weeks in advance due to a miscalculation of the baby's size by their ultrasound team. It was disappointing hearing the doctors discouraging the mother during delivering process to say, "I think you may have to go C-Section" instead of natural delivery. Further, the doctors kept encouraging epidural while the mother is trying to push for a natural delivery. On the positive note, my daughter was born with no c-section nor epidural. Sustain; 1) Hospital is clean and well equipped. 2) Their team of nurses and techs shows dedication to the well-being of their patients 24/7. 3) It is still an honorable experience to have a baby delivered at a military hospital.

I delivered my baby here in December 2020. The entire staff was amazing. My delivering Dr was so nice and the nurses were so helpful and sweet. I felt comfortable with everyone I interacted with especially my primary Dr. Cofield.

We had an incredible experience here. I highly recommend everyone from the doctors, to the nurses, to the anesthesiologists. They all made you feel comfortable and were so kind to my family and me. They took great care of us.

I came here for a few reasons. One being counseling with my now ex husband. After he was diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder, he shortly after was reported for strangulation and domestic violence. They immediately took action when I pulled my collar down. I appreciate all they have done for me. They connected the damages to my vagus nerve.

Dr. Streiff is the best radiologist at this hospital. I am so glad that he was there to read my scans. Ask for him!

The base doesn’t know how to time stop lights, if you want to get through them, you have to go 50 mph. Then they kind of line up for you. It’s an easy problem to fix, but it’s the federal government, so expect it to get worse before it gets better.

This review is only for the regular clerks at the registration/appointment desk in Family Medicine. They are always extremely rude, to the extent of eye rolling and being unprofessional, just not helpful and seem to be more caught up and worried about their own personal conversations rather than helping patients.

I'm part of the EFMP for GI issues. David Grant has really done more in this last year to find out what is causing my gi issues more than any past specialist I was sent to. They have worked with me on every step of the way and are really considerate. Mind you, they are always beyond packed at the GI clinic and have a huge work load, but they still try to fit you in rather quickly. (Compared to army bases where a GI scope within 4 months was considered quick to them). Just try to be realistic on wait times because this is a EFMP base and also a huge amount of retirees come to this hospital too.

Very thorough. Depends upon the policies of the hospital. If patient oriented, he may not last long. If saving money important he will last way too long. Overall, they keep me alive.
