I went here for the NCT 127 concert and the venue was pretty nice! I anticipated not being able to see the stage well (I'm 4ft 11in and was in the second row in the second section back from the stage), but I saw everything perfectly! The only "issue" that there may have been is that the venue is relatively small once everyone is going in or coming out of the main lobby, but that's to be expected at almost any concert. For parking there are a ton of garages in the area just a short walk away! I can't speak for all of them, but I only had to pay $5 for parking! I would DEFINITELY come back to this venue again for any event!

Came here for Gareth's laser city. The venue itself is pretty great, basically a mini bill graham but more accessible for people who don't want to go into the city. Lots of seating on both the first floor as well as a second balcony floor. The only downside was the crowd that night but that's a more event specific thing rather than venue

Beautiful building, great acoustics, nice staff. I enjoyed seeing The Monkees there then I would have anywhere else.

Venue is aged with good sightlines. For a comedy show they had live video monitors and sound was good almost too loud (nothing good earplugs can't handle). Seats can be crammed in and give you knee cramps. Get up and walk around. Upper level steps are moderately steep. Line for bar for mixed drinks can be long but it moves. For beer and water, find one of the many other spots for quicker service. Bathrooms are huge and taken care of

The venue's interior is eye catching, but the audio is consistently 'meh'. Food concessions have some surprising options that are not too shabby.

Ideal!! Great venue with highly professional and amiable staff. The venue itself had adequate facilities and never a bad seat. I love that the box office sells tickets without gobs of extra fees (so extremely valuable in 2023) The sound and lights are tremendous. I’d give this venue a 10 star if possible! Love this place, and I drive hundreds of miles to enjoy a show here!! #best!

Fantastic location; I had a great time. It was my first time attending a performace like this. It was Eric Chou, a well known Chinese artist whose songs my wife had been pleading with me to listen to. I am glad I made to choice to get a ticket to his concert. The atmosphere was excellent, lighting was fantastic and it was so much fun. It's easy to find parking too since there was a parking lot close-by, although there was a slight queue up because of a special event.

One of the happening places in the San Jose downtown. I love the balcony seats facing the stage!

The venue is okay. Seems more like a high school gym. If you sit in your in front of the stage it is all the same level so you can't see anything! It's actually better to sit up in the balconies to see anything. So much for paying for better tickets to sit on the floor where I couldn't see a thing

The San Jose Civic is a nice older but cozy venue with good seating, great historical creds (check out the cool photos in the corridors of the many great acts who have played there in the past), friendly staff, and generous parking nearby, all with excellent downtown restaurants and clubs just a few blocks away.

Good theater, the directions to different seating areas can be a bit confusing but staff was helpful and the show was awesome. The public parking nearby was the best option for flat rate $10, other paid parking can easily go to 20-40 bucks…

Great venue for a concert. Went to see Dread Mar and had an amazing time with my sister. Felt safe, the acoustics were great and intimate concert are the best.

Saw Pierce the Veil here. Super interesting (small) venue with a crazy history. Highly recommend to Caltrain into Jose Diridon station if traveling from San Francisco.

The place was nice but the bar tender that was serving the mixed drinks was truly awful. He was telling my husband after we paid for our drinks what to tip as if my husband was super drunk or unable to understand what he was doing. He was very rude and kept stating push this button here , no push this one here and not allowing him to press anything else with his hand! He was Blocking the other buttons if that makes sense. After I noticed what he was doing and which button he wanted us to press after he scanned his cc had me mind blown and the way he was so persistent about the tip button made me suspicious so I took over and clicked on no tip! after he kept telling me to why I didn’t press the 20% tip option button. I pressed no tip and he said “oh thats nice” I said wait you wanted tip for doing your job? It’s not like you gave me an extra shot or an extra tamarindo straw ! He said that’s nice ! I said oh sorry that I’m being honest and don’t think you deserve a tip for doing your job but if you want a tip here is a dollar and he said don’t be sorry its okay, it okay. I stared at him with disgust that he was probably taking advantage of drunk people at this event. For this reason I give it a 4 star because the entire situation was just unbelievable and the civic center was nice but it’s small. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Will definitely look out for bar tenders employees at events that be pulling this stunt.

Absolutely gorgeous venue! I've attended live music, theater, lectures, and more in this historical San Jose landmark. The sound is usually perfect, which is rare, especially for the variety of events. The last time I was there, Oct 2023, was for an amazing Health Summit. The AC was on too high and miserably cold. But that said I've never felt the place get too hot and stuffy even during rock concerts. The restrooms can handle the crowd volume, but are not designed and decorated as elegantly as the rest of the facility. Most seats seem closer to the stage than at most other venues of this capacity. My favorite memory was seeing the Moody Blues play an epic concert maybe 2017? Over all, it's remained one of my local favorites.

Great location. We watched a DSP concert here. We parked on 3rd street(free street parking) and walked about 10 minutes. The sound system was bad(loud and noisy) in the concert and I doubt that is because of the place.

I've been to 3 shows here now and each time I'm left with a great experience!!!! Prob my fav venue EXCEPT for the fact that it's super slippery on the floors if someone spills a drink which happens very very often and can lead to falls in the middle of a moshpit but other than that.... AMAZING!!!!

Nice small venue. Easy parking in back only $10 for the night. Had good options for food and drink (alcoholic too) inside at kiosks.

Bill Graham is definitely bigger than the civic center but nonetheless, it’s still a good venue for raves haha

Nice venue for events and live performances. Building is older obviously but the premesis are clean including the bathroom. Has a working elevator on one end to get uou to the 2nd and 3rd floor. Currently requiring masks indoors. Concessions are limited, they had only drinks and small snacks like chips and candy. Parking is difficult is you are looking for street parking due to road construction. One of the parking garages nearby is also being completely redone. Parking lot right next to it is horrible, fills quickly and if you can't get out fast enough will charge you $6 for the first hour. Better off parking in the garage across the street next to the hotel that charges a flat rate.

Awesome venue. Small but spacious at the same time. Saw Primus there and it was amazing.

Beautiful venue. Sound was great. We're going back in September for Jonny Mathis. Only complaint is that ticketmaster assigned us regular seats instead of wheelchair seats.

This is a good place to see high energy concerts. It's a bit of a small venue, but that matters very little. It's beautiful inside, what with the gorgeous chandeliers and lighting. The floors are really bouncy too, so when the crowd starts jumping it's almost like standing on a trampoline. It's seriously amazing.

Seats were nice, place was very well ventilated and staff was good. Restrooms were clean but on the upper level. Not sure if this was this show or the centers setup but the sound system was very poor, there is no noise absorption which did not help either. This is right at the train station, for parking there are hotel parking garages open for paid parking.

I had a great time watching Dream Theater performing live at San Jose Civic Center. Everything about the show was terrific -> Sound/Lights/Ambience/Seatings etc.

Amazing venue and area. The song Lindsey Stirling here during her Christmas special. Was very much set up like Christmas staff was into the spirit and made everything worthwhile

We were there for the Caifanes Concert and I had a great time even though the concession stand for the Alcoholic Drinks were down and that made us lose our place at the front. The food court didn't have churros and there were like 5 employees for one cash register? It bothered me that people were smoking inside the building and during the concert and no security around to stop those people And the bathrooms were clean.

The venue is great! Security will do whatever they can to not let you in, regardless if you have tickets or not. All these depressed middle aged people working at the door look so miserable, I feel like they take our your anger on people visiting

I went to the Caifanes concert at this venue on Sunday, August 29th and it was a nightmare. No one was checking vaccination cards at the door-they'd just let people walk in. Most of the concert-goers removed their masks once they were inside and there was no one policing and assuring that they kept their masks on. I paid good money to see one of my favorite groups, not to attend a super-spreader event where my own health was at risk! Per San Jose City protocols: Requirements at Entry: MASKS are required to be worn indoors per Santa Clara County Order, see below. PROOF OF VACCINATION REQUIRED, per State of California Order, starting September 20, 2021: For indoor events with 1,000 or more people, attendees must provide proof upon entry that they are fully vaccinated or have received a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of their concert/event. All the protocols were ignored and flouted.
