Good food, no fluff, quick service at an affordable price. You just sit and someone will come to get your order and food shows up in 5 minutes. (As expected, 5 items are ready and your dosa is just made order). They have bottled water at the table too. Kudos to the management for running a nice spot for such foods. Hope to come back again.

Dosa menu items were good! Tried ghee onion podi dosa, kara dosa (very spicy 🥵 after the act) and malli dosa. Snacks tasted pretty badly. Didn't like their medu vada, bonda and cut mirchi bajji.

Great south Indian food ! Visited the restaurant multiple times recently and would highly recommend ! The chutneys are the best I have had in bay area especially the peanut chutney. I love hot and spicy food and they had the right amount of them . Madras Paratha with Kurma - was really good. It was crispy and hot. The kurma was the best i have had in bay area till now. Ghee Kara Masala Dosa - was really hot as marked. We also had Masala Pesarattu, masala dosa and Mysore bonda and they were good. Rava kesari - The sweetness was just right and liked it compared to other restaurants i have tried in Bay Area. Filter Coffee is great ! Rose milk was good with the right amount of sweetness and essence which was not overpowering! Would be visiting again and again . Edit : This is our go to place and we visit it very often .

One of the busiest places , took some time for me to get a table and my ordered dishes. I tried ulavacharu masala dosa , punugulu and poori . I really liked the dosa , it was crisp and roasted perfectly, must try!! The size of the dosas and uthapam are damn good for the price you pay for it, and they are tasty and satisfying too. Must visit place if you are a fan of Indian breakfast.

The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of this place is the crowd and the very delayed service. We had to wait for an hour to get just these 2 items and waited another half hour for a takeaway order which we placed along with these 2 items. Not at all happy with service and the taste was also okayish not the greatest - I’ve definitely had better in the bay. There are better South Indian restaurants in the South Bay. I wouldn’t go here another time.

We had podi idly, onion masala dosa and ulavacharu masala dosa. Taste is good but the disappointment comes from sambar and chutney. No complains on serving and ambience.

It used to be a great place, I usually place a pick up order and from the past 3 visits, they say to pick up in 30 minutes, when I reach there after pickup time I have to wait another 30 minutes to pick up.. The service is seriously bad.. When I ask them what's the problem, no one cares to respond and simply ignores. They don't care about your time at all. I recommend to skip this place

We wanted to have some Southern Indian food for breakfast today morning but didn't wanted to drive far off so choose UlavacharuU Tiffins. We have tried many times before but always it was Togo so thought of having a sit down experience this time. Since we were the first customer to the restaurant the whole restaurant was empty so we can choose any seating except the last area they are been reserved for family ( I think they mean family with kids) . We ordered some breakfast items- 1) Idly - the No of idlies in this plate are 3 to accompany it comes with Sambhar & 3 different chutneys. It took some time almost 20-25 mins to come since it was being freshly made as per the staff ( David) who informed us when ordering we didn't mind to wait. My husband got the chance to read his novel & I was enjoying some Bollywood songs . When the Idli came I didn't see any coconut chutney so asked David about it , he informed only with Dosa they give coconut chutney but he graciously agreed to give us some. Idli was piping hot & soft enjoyed it with all chutneys & sambhar. Their chutneys are really good - spicy tomato & Red Chilli chutney , Peanut chutney , Ginger & jaggery ( unrefined cane sugar) this is my favorite so far I have not seen in any Bay Area restaurants & last but not the least coconut chutney it was made with fresh coconut (not descicated or coconut powder which many restaurants make it) we enjoyed every bite of this as well. 2) Idly Vada combo we choose 3 Idli & 1 Vada- This was also very good pipping hot Idli & Vada it was freshly made . Their Vada was freshly made & crunchy. We shared the 1 Vada. 3) Ghee Masala Dosa - again very flavorful due to ghee ( clarified butter) can't go wrong with it !!! The main reason we went for sit down is whenever we do Togo especially with Dosa the crispy Dosa turns soggy/ soft by the time we reach home . So we're really looking forward to have it. The Ghee Dosa when served we didn't see any Masala ( potato filling) which my husband loves it so asked about it ... David informed us they have to remake the potato batch again from starch since the early batch became very salty so it will take time , we were bummed but couldn't wait that long so agreed to eat it with chutney & sambhar. As we were enjoying the Dosa, David came back again & apologized for it again & comped us either with Medhu Vada or Idli so we choose Medhu Vada. We loved their customer service. 4) Mysore Dosa - it was good on its own as well as their chutneys & sambhar. It's been ages since I have eaten it , It's a childhood nostalgia. I grew up eating Ram Ashraya ( Matunga Bombay) restaurant Mysore Dosa so nothing comes closer to that taste for me ... We ended up our breakfast with 1 Filter Coffee it was very strong but good. Overall we loved the food & will come back again in a heartbeat.

Checkin was easy, you scan a QR code and join waitlist. Reception will call your name when a table is available for your party. Placing an order was quick and easy. Also order came with in 15 minutes. Food looked fresh and tasted good. They have four kids of chutneys (dipping sauces) all are delicious. Price is reasonable. Overall good experience. Will go again.

No words to describe I felt like eating my mom made tiffin. Almost ordered everything on the menu on my 2 visits Everything tastes great and fresh. The staff was so quick and helpful in managing very busy tables they are doing great job. Special mention Podi idly it is the best idly I had in states the gee the podi and idly just taste perfect along with chutneys and sambar. If you want to feel home food I highly highly recommend this place. So visit eat happiness food enjoy

This is by far the best South Indian tiffin place I’ve found in Bay Area. The food was very flavorful and the chutneys were amazing. They have coconut, peanut, ginger and I guess peanut chutney. I cannot talk enough about them. Loved it with dosa and Mysore bonda. Madras Paratha and kurma is a must try!!! The kurma is not very spicy and has the perfect taste. Will definitely be a regular here and I’m sad it took me so long to find this place.

LOVED THIS PLACE, WOULD DEFINITELY COME AGAIN! We tried the following items: Medu Vada Ghee Podi Onion Masala Dosa Filter Coffee Mango Lassi (From my experience in Texas) I have never tried SOO GOOOOD Medu Vada in the US. It was on par (if not better) than the Medu Vada I have had in India. I couldn't be more joyful. Ghee Podi Onion Masala Dosa was fantastic as well but I think my taste buds couldn't handle the Podi spices as it was unbearable for me as I reached the masala in the middle. Next time I would order the same without Podi. I loved all of the chutneys (was blown away by the peanut chutney and tomato chutney) and sambar. Couldn't get enough of it. Service: 10/10. Staff is extremely polite, gentle, sweet and humble. Even if the food had not been good I would have still come again for the service of the staff. [We had ordered filter coffee and we kinda didn't like it as it wasn't similar to the last time, the staff replaced it twice and even when we didn't like it they didn't charge us for it.] The Ambience is good enough and will make you feel like you're in an Indian family restaurant, nothing fancy and that's what makes it feel like home.

If you are looking for the best dosas in Bay area and authentic tiffin feels, this is it!!! Went late for dinner around 9 pm and people were still coming in. Took almost 15 minutes wait to get a table but totally worth it. Love the bibe inside the restaurant bustling with people, takes me straight home.

Good spot for South Indian breakfast food. This place gets very busy on weekends, so plan accordingly. Food taste is authentic and very close to what I had back home in Andhra Pradesh. Podi Idly and Masala dosa are my favorite items on their menu. Service staff are friendly. ambiance is a bit odd at night but ok during the daytime.

Amazing place for south Indian food. We went for breakfast. Tried onion uttapam, ghee idli and mango lassi. Both the dishes were super tasty and delicious including all of the chutneys. Prices were reasonable comparatively. However, be prepared to wait as it gets crowded during peak hours. Would definitely like to visit again.

Authentic south Indian cuisine with a variety of options to choose from. Decent dining space however during peak hours, can get congested. Service was good and we loved the food overall. They also serve several Indian sweets and nakeens. Has decent parking space and restrooms are outside the main hall.

The food here was excellent. The podi dosa was rated with 1 chili was still very spicy but delicious. There was also a sweet ginger chutney I've never seen at any other place I've been to. Highly recommend visiting.

We came on Sunday for lunch and there is a long line and waited 10 mins to get table. The staff are friendly and fast with taking order and serving. The dosai was great and very spicy. The mango lassi is amazing LOL

Yumm..Yumm...Yumm.... Tiffins are so yummy that we tasted almost all of the items on the menu. It felt like as if we are eating Andhra style breakfast in India. 4 types of chutneys, sambar. Prices are reasonable not costlier. They as well sell indian sweets and snacks that are fresh and delicious as well. Travelling all the way from Seattle and eating over there made us forgot the pain of drive.. 😄 Staff are super firendly and ofocurse it is crowded on weekends. Definitely will NOT disappoint your wait time.

One of the best food, probably in the US! We ordered Idly vada combo, masala and mysore dosa. All of these dishes were beyond amazing. Chutneys and sambhar were the best part. I try not to drink tea but their masala chai is amazingly delicious. Prices are reasonable. I'd definitely recommend this place and visit them again.

Ghee idli was a treat to my taste buds. Ambience is decent. Restroom is not within in the dine in area. You have to step outside which is kind of an inconvenience. The chutneys served with the idli was not great. I would have give 4.5 stars.

  • 5/5 vignesh t. 2 years ago on Google
Giving them 5 star rating for the food. They are overwhelmed during rush hour service, hope they add at least a person front house. Podi idly, Kara masala dosa is best. Their chutneys are good as well. If they maintain quality, we’ll keep coming here.

Delicious South Indian place. We tried ulavacharu dosa and podi onion masala dosa. Both were great options with the right amount of spices. Dosa comes with sambhar and four different types of chutneys. Filter coffee was great too, thankfully sugar was on the side and not added to the coffee. Prices were very reasonable. They have plenty of tables, there was no wait time on a Saturday evening. They also sell sweets, spices and snacks boxes at the counter.

Had coffee and Medhu vada. Both were served hot which we enjoyed. The vada was hard and we assume that it was made out of ready made dry flour.

Easily the best dosa in the South Bay!

  • 4/5 Prachi M. 2 years ago on Google
Loved the podi idly and onion uthappam! Podi was not spicy but idli was really soft and tasty. Dosa was on the drier side. Recommendation to management is to improve the taste of the chutneys and sambhar. They are too sweet and not flavorful.
