One of our hidden cultural gems! Enjoy the quaint weekend farmers market and other regular events. The parking situation is forgiving, so no worries. Great coffee and of course plenty of artwork to peruse. Nice spot for some quiet time on the weekend.

Alliance for the Arts is a nonprofit visual and performing arts center that hosts classes, performances, summer camps, community events, farmers markets, and exhibitions. It is the premier community art and cultural space in the county. AftA is also home to a stunning new permanent installation. More than just a beautiful piece of sculpture, it's a critical yet optimistic commentary on the impact of mass development on the local environment. Highly recommend stopping by to give it a closer look!

I am one of many fans of the delightful Tatiana and her husband Ramon. Their vegan food is home cooked and often includes plants grown on their land, for example, Tatiana's tangy, green papaya kimchi. A wide variety of yummy, fresh, vegan foods are to be found at this booth every Saturday at the Green Market!

The Alliance for the Arts sponsors many worthwhile programs here in the Ft. Myers Whiskey Creek area off College Parkway. Today (Saturday) I came to peruse the local Farmer’s Market that runs from 8:00 - 1:00. It’s a small affair, where most of the vendors offer goods they’ve made or produced, such as breads, sauces, woven items, jewelry, tamales and some very good looking vegetarian/vegan home cooked salads, entrees, empanadas and samosas. The latter vendor (Tatiana & Ramon of Eco Farms) will even contact you with their upcoming week’s menu and take orders to be delivered at the next Saturday’s market! Bottom line: Yes. If you’d like some really authentic tamales or if amazing home cooked vegetarian appeals to you, go early to get the best choices!

Alliance for the Arts on McGregor Boulevard in Fort Myers Florida is a must see while visiting Sunny Southwest Florida. Saturdays they have a wonderful Farmers Market which is hosted on the lawn from 8:00 a. m. - 1:00 The Green Market has a large variety of produce and deliciously prepared foods . You may want to visit downtown Fort Myers while in the area, it's close by and has several quaint shops and restaurants along the riverfront.

Wonderful community resource, supporting all the various arts!

My family and I visited Alliance for the Arts to view the displayed artwork. The artwork was varied, e.g., sculptures (using mixed media collages and ceramics) graphite and colored pencil drawings, digital photography and paintings to name a few, and was the work of select students from Lee County School District. Many of the pieces were unusual, but creative. We enjoyed seeing the art of the adolescent mind. I hope your visit is as nice. Art On!

I was there cause my 5 year old grand daughter was in a art thing for her school. We had to walk through a beer fest where children and adults were doing beer tasting. Kind of disappointed

It was a trunk or treat that 1. Was VERY loud. 2. Half the people weren't giving candy. They weren't giving anything so I don't understand why they were even there

I had a wonderful experience. Just saw Faceless and it was excellent. Every actor was terrific in their role. It was an intriguing play that had you discussing what the outcome of the trial actually was. Best play I've seen this season. I commend the actors on doing a superb job!!!

Wife took art classes here and loved it. The staff are tremendous and helped my wife in so many ways become a better artist. Special shout out to Terri Lynn, she is a great art instructor. We had to relocate for my career, but will miss these folks.

Think twice before donating to this organization. I was a supporter of this organization, and obviously wont be any longer. I'm a board member for a non-profit organization that does a regular Christmas gift giving program for single mothers and their children. I knew one of the board members there and she offered to be a drop-off location. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask again this year and the location was left on the paper. Two people drove from Naples to drop off a handful of gifts to be delivered to families the next day and they were turned away. Furthermore, I was told they were being extremely rude to the people. I called over to apologize for the confusion, and the receptionist was rude to me, and refused to accept the gifts even for 30 minutes while I drove over there. Out of all the heartless and cruel acts in this world, refusing to hold Christmas gifts for children for 30 minutes has got to be one of the cruelest things I have ever been witness to. The types of 501c3 organizations that become overly concerned about making money that they don't pay taxes on should have their tax status revoked for acts of cruelty.

This place was clearly not prepared to handle tonights concert (JJ Grey 12/1) Huge disappointment. From getting into the event, ordering and paying for drinks & food, using a restroom, sound system, parking etc… Poor planning. I’m sure everyone working the event did the best the could but improvement is needed.

An excellent Lee County sponsored facility offering thought provoking off Broadway theatrical productions, community events and concerts, diverse gallery exhibits and adult and child classroom tuition in many things artistic including drawing, painting and mixed media creativity but currently not offering ceramic or pottery tuition. Saturday mornings offer outdoor yoga and a small farmers market.

A truly wonderful, creative, healing ,and rejuvenating Peace festival💖☮️✌️🕊️ This was our first peace festival. (Both Chewy, my 9 year old furbaby, had a great time. Wish we could have stayed longer! Made lots of friends and discovered a lot of new art and healing modalities. Everyone and everything was filled with great, positive energy. The music was lovely ( vibrating on many key healing frequencies), art was fantastic ( very diverse and extremely imaginative), a true feast for the eyes and senses. Picked up a few gifts for my mom and sister in Canada.( The little succulent growing crystal troll), some "holy smoke" smudge sticks( yerba & white sage), and some fabulous soaps made with lots of love and antibacterial properties that smelled like heaven. Overall, the best, most magical festival I've been.

We go there on Saturday farmer's market for the tamolies and burritos.

  • 4/5 Brenda B. 4 years ago on Google
Wonderful groups today but music drowned out the voices. Not sure why sound board is on the stage and not at the back. Might lose 4/6 seats but it makes no sense when the sound board operator has walk to the back of the room to hear what the balance is.

I am relatively new to Fort Myers and a totally "unknown" artist; I joined the Alliance about the same time as Ehren came onboard there and I feel fortunate and blessed that he is there! My own experience is that he is a master at "fostering the creative possibilities in others." When I talked to him about a member (my art) exhibit for December, he had such creative and exciting ideas, including making it an interactive exhibit, and such enthusiasm that it made my heart sing!
