I and my family raised thousands of dollars for SalusCare, advocating for them, thinking they were helping people. They talk a good talk, but their care is worse than jail! After having my adult son there in crisis care at Deer Run, I speak from first hand experience that this place is a horror chamber. I have all their documentation proving of hours of restraints and isolation, injections of antipsychotic drugs they were told he cannot take due to adverse reactions, HIPPA violations including another patients personal information and their family contact names and phone numbers in my sonโ€™s records, refusing to let family see him for visitation, refusing to transfer him. The things that we witnessed and endured....the physical and emotional harm done to my son, has rocked our entire family to the core. This place needs to be shut down! When you do more harm than good, you shouldn't be able to treat people in crisis. It scares me that CHILDREN are sent to this place. Seriously, this is the stuff horror movies and books are written about. The public should know how SalusCare treats mental illness, as there would be an uproar. Their state and other funding needs to be terminated. My new mission in life is to expose this and invoke change. We demand and deserve better!

I wouldnโ€™t give this place any stars. My daughter was here last week and I got no information. They would only call my husband for information, which heโ€™s amazing but I tend to all the medical needs in the family and so Iโ€™m more familiar with everything. Some of the staff yell at the kids and make fun of them. Iโ€™ve had to call to get information and have been met with very rude staff members. This isnโ€™t the first facility we have dealt with and I was very surprised there was not a discharge plan. This isnโ€™t healthcare and these are not healthcare employees. I have significant doubts of the competency of all the staff including doctors and nurses. This place needs an overhaul and better training and supervision of the staff. Itโ€™s definitely not easy working with kids with mental health issues and therefore all staff needs to be highly trained and have much better supervision.

THIS place is BEYOND a NEGATIVE ZERO !! PLEASEEEE READDD My 11 year old daughter was in the children's unit 3 separate times , 12/19/16 just being her last time automatically from when she was being taken from my home to be baker acted I said to the cops I DON'T want her to go to saluscare I said she's been there twice already within the past 5 wks they do NOTHINGGGG for the KIDS NOTHINGGGG , I explained her therapist & Dr's even recommend her NOT be placed in THAT Environment AGAIN !!! Her last stay she was made fun of by the nurse by being called FAT !! Which is NEVERRRRR acceptable BUT especially in THIS situation due to her being there for SEVERE depression, anxiety , Ptsd ,Adhd , & o.d.d !! She's been struggling tremendously with her self esteem & image due to her being overweight & this quote on quote "Nurse" Nelly whom SHOULD have thee professionalism & proper training & education in how she SHOULD conduct HERSELF especially in a setting of children with a wide array of mental health illnesses!!! CLEARLY she DOESN'T!!! After my child came home & explained the events that she had been put through during her stay the 2nd time , I've been going through the process of finding out to WHOM due these people & facility answer to .. My daughter had been taken there 12/19/16 until they (our Dr's) contacted the David Lawrence Center in Naples & requested her a bed there . Which was within the first 30 mins of her being there . But she had to stay there for a few hrs until transport could take her seeing it was a baker act . What took place within those few hrs was & still is appalling !! My 11 year old daughter whom was brought to THIS grunge holeee for the duration of the transports arrival WASSSS ATTACKEDDDD by a BOYYY at THIS facility UNDERRRR THEIR QUOTE ON QUOTE CAREEEE!!! He threw a book at her face FIRST , then received a SIMPLE warning !! Then proceeded to roll up 1 of the books & slap my little girl in HER FACE with it as you would a dog & at THAT point she jumped up then this BOYYY grabbed her by the hair threw her to the floor got her into a choke hold punched her in the eye , was hitting on her scratching her & when she tried to fight back he bit her arm hard enough she stillll has teeth impressions & it's welted & bruised !!! My child was CONTINUALLY ATTACKEDDDD FOR 3 MINUTES before staff acknowledged the ATTACK & got him off of my daughter !!! 3 MINUTES !!! Howwwww ??? I got a call my child was ATTACKEDDDD & was being taken via AMBULANCE to the hospital !!! THIS facility & the staff are completely incompetent CLEARLY of ensuring KIDS safety THERE !!! I'm NOT backing down EITHER I HAVE obtained a attorney & am going to sue the hellllll out of THEM for this MISCONDUCT & NEGLIGENCE ON THEIR BEHALF SOMEONE MUSTTTTT STOP THESE PEOPLE & THEIR INCOMPETENT STAFF BEFORE A CHILD LOSES THEIR LIFE TO THE NEGLIGENCE ON THEIR BEHALF!!! BEST words of advice HAVE YOUR CHILDREN taken to the David Lawrence Center in Naples NOT to these people if you truly care about your KIDS...!!! I give THEM A NEGATIVE 10!!!!

Unfortunately a family member of mine was placed here after an incident. This place is filthy and disgusting. It appears like it is never cleaned and the facility where patients stay is void of any redeeming positivity. The common room is a combination of a dining and sitting area, extremely small room to "socialize" in or visit in. If the measure of our society is any reflection of how we treat the sick and the elderly in places such as this we should be ashamed. How are you supposed to heal with rundown sitting rooms, and rundown outdoor sitting area...which looks like prison. This place is deplorable and should be shut down.

Please for the love of god and all that is good Please tell police officer not to take you or your loved ones to salus care the patients here receive no help for their mental illnesses except for being forced to take medication the rooms are absolutely cold causing your love one to freeze every night the staff abuse the patients. LCSO took my mother here a while back and she was traumatized by the entire ordeal received no help at all we are thankful the second time that LCSO took her to park royal instead where she got the help she needed please donโ€™t give money to these peoples they are abusers and will only traumatize your love ones

I would give this place a -3 star review. My wife had to go involuntary to this crummy place for her first time receiving mental health treatment. She was scared the entire time she was locked up here. The building is dirty, the beds are no better than plywood with a pad over top, the food is terrible which meant my wife could hardly eat which meant they gave her negative ratings about her recovery and forced her to stay longer, the staff is rude, and these people have no compassion or empathy for what the patients and families are going through. They are here for a paycheck not because they want to help people. Its not much better than being in a prison (which is what i thought this place was when i pulled in).

I was treated like a child, put in solitary confinement, and given nothing to do except be alone with my thoughts. This is no treatment center. This place is designed to lock away the ill and isolate them. Being sent here was a violation of what little sanity I had left.

As a family we go through this too. I am trying to do the best I can do to provide help for my mother. We were working on voluntary in take so we can avoid Salas as much as possible. Unfortunately things took a turn and involuntary had to happen. I called Salas care earlier in the week, they informed me that I can call and provide her insurance information. This morning I called to do so and about transferring her to another facility. The lady on the phone was rude about it instead of just explaining to a lost family member about hippa laws. When I asked about providing her insurance information she states.. "we know how to track them".. my heart just broke. I explained she might not have the current information due to fraud issues and I need to provide it, refused. If they canโ€™t release any information to the daughter who is her contact, how am I supposed to get her.. she will run off and I will never get her back. I feel like I made the worst decision ever.

Trust me if I could put half a star I could, doctors there kept telling me that I was faking because me and my parents didnt consent to several drugs known to be quite addictive. The employees were often rude and tended to scream over the children everytime we had free time and we were not loud at all, in fact most of us were wispering. They told the children that the staff did not threaten you with punishment but that was what most of the staff did everyday, several times a day. The rooms drive you crazy because there is never a clock in each room so the children never know what time it is and that gets very disorienting. Their only save and grace is, the front desk employees were very nice and some nurses were nice and tried not to yell but other than that I had several panic attacks and got much worse during my stay there.

i've been here multiple times. At first you think this place is the worst place on earth but after the next few visits you get used to it and its not so bad. I just don't understand why the bed are flat as hell "Mattresses" on metal tin cans...i also don't understand why the lights in your room (that stay on through out the night, which i understand why) are so bright when they know we are trying to sleep... orrr that the staff are so undeniably loud the entirety of the night...the food is alright, some people would say its nasty, but hey, what can you expect from a mental hospital? There is a majority of staff that are just down right vicious to the patients and there are some select staff that are angels in your darkest night. A few nurses (you can tell) hate working there and hate everyone and everything to do with Saluscare, then there a few nurses that are kind and compassionate and understanding. I guess what im trying to say is that this place is like any other Baker Act facility. You cant expect much, but select things could be better. It gets me a little aggravated when people complain so much about this place because honestly the things they complain about are for your own safety and the safety of others. I get its frustrating being there but what you do gets you in the position to be brought there. Long story short, there are worse places and there are better places. Dont complain when you are making the idiotic decisions (voluntarily or involuntarily due to mental illnesses) that get you placed in this place. I hope whoever reads this understands what im trying to say and please dont get offended, just try to understand. Have a wonderful day

If you care an ounce for your family member you will not send them to this place to get help. I am lucky i had witnesses when this place's psychiatrist made me wait over 2 hours to see her. I had to leave for work so i left, and they called and I told them " I waited as long as I could, I couldn't be late to work". This place put a self harm alert out to the police saying I threatened to hang myself over the phone. I was with my family when i was on the phone with them luckily not driving alone like i usually do. I have family on the force they told us to pull into parking lot. The officer saw i was with family and told them to follow him back there instead of me having to go in the police car. We went in a room and the psychiatrist walked in saw my family and walked right back out. No words. The head of the center wrote a letter that i was cleared to leave. Don't leave your family with these people. They are money grabbers and could care less for anyone's wellbeing.

When I was 16 this place filled me with antipsychotic drugs, I stopped going to follow up appointments and refused the medications, and was able to continue with my life as anyone else could. However, due to the drug pushing and unqualified doctors, the medications I was given (mainly seroquel) have left horrible side effect that I am miserable with everyday, 7 years later. I never needed those medications and the only alternative they would give me were benzos or stronger things, which destroyed me mentally. They convinced me I needed these medications. They convinced me I was broken and couldn't be helped. If I didn't step back and refuse their "treatments" I would be nothing but a mindless zombie with no mental capacity. I can't begin to imagine how many lives this prison has destroyed. Keep your loved ones away and get them the help they need.

No communication what so ever with this place. My wife went to a doctor's appointment to end up here. She gave them contact information to call me (I'm her wife). They never called so I learned the hard way that my wife wasn't at the doctor's appointment that she was taken here. Stripped her from everything that had strings on her clothing and locked it away. When it came to bringing her clothes it took them a while to come to the door after I've done called 7 times.

This organization is a 501 3c pipeline. They have no desire or drive to treat disabled children. I was in the process of placing my son in a government facility the rest of his life. It's a long process. They have to find a place for your child. Sometimes out of state. All because they were convincing me this was autism or behavioral. I told them my son's physical manifestions of psychosis. At that point it was OBVIOUS. His face and eyes were distorted. Pupils dilated/ eyes black. (his eyes are blue) Bottom jaw shaking in unnatural ways. They WOULD not treat my son. They kept blaming autism. I was so terrified that I had an exorcism performed on my son. I knew it WASN'T autism or behavioral. Everything, even his face was different. I had to find an expert with decades of experience to diagnose and treat my son. On something that should have been easy for these "educated" doctors. He checked every box for psychosis yet they still denied it claiming autism. It's seriously concerning their lack of willingness to treat an autistic child in crisis. I pray you all never find yourselves in my situation. With doctors offering your type of "care".

The staff walk by with their lunch that was delivered from a restaurant right by you. The dinner is soggy, lunch is cold. Breakfast is the same thing everyday. The doctor doesnโ€™t keep their word. On one of the units you have nothing to do but watch tv and sleep. You canโ€™t sleep in your room without a light on and the light is right above the head of the bed. They donโ€™t let you have any more then 3 outfits.

Hi I was placed here 6 times between the period of March to April 2016 and it was a mess. I almost pooped my pants cuz they wouldn't let me go potty, staff was so rude and kids kept screaming and causing issues. One girl started screaming at 2 in the morning. Beds are hard and theres like no pillows and staff love to make fun of patients. Doctor takes forever to see you and she types as fast as a kindergartner. It is not right how they can just keep you there if they feel like it, like literally there were so many kids that didn't need to be there and they kept them probably for the insurance money. sickos. Doctor was so rude she kept telling nurse to give shots up kids butts to make them be quiet so staff wouldn't have to deal with them. I would like to see her get baker acted and put there and see how she like to be drugged up all day. So disgusting and they were rude during visitation to my mom. Came out worse than before. :(

I have been in this center before, and the place deserves to be shut down because the staff is rude, they won't allow you to call your parent every 8 hours, the visitation is only 1 hour, and overall, it feels like prison. Because they wake you up at 6:45 AM, dinner is 5:00 PM in fact, when dinner was served to me, I was not hungry but one of the staff forced me to eat dinner and the lunch is around 12:45 PM, and these times are unreasonable because really, who do you know has dinner at 5 in the afternoon? The base room is combined of a dinning room and a waiting room, the outside area is like a prison. And if you want to go to your room, for some reason, they give you 5 minutes only. How is someone that is here supposed to recover from here if you have mean staff, unreasonable times, every 8 hours allowed to call parents, 1 hour of visitation time, and a prison like structure, this center makes you feel like you are on the show, "Beyond Scared Straight" because there are unreasonable times, mean staff, and overall, you can't recover here, and even though you were on your best behavior the whole first day, they would still keep you in, you know, One last thing, this place deserves to be shut down once and for all! Oh, and I also forgot that it is dirty as well. Probably this is why people gave it a 0 rating. What is the point of running a business such as this when you clean the floor I don't know, every 10 years? Even fast food restaurants is cleaner than this, this place is so filthy and disgusting that people pass out by the air or even looking at the floor or the place itself.

Bad. They changed my daughter's medicine after she was stable for four years. She was at this place twice. The medicine they gave her wasn't working. They discharged her without telling the family. We don't know where she is at. Privacy law for people with mental illness should be revised and changed, no matter the age. She has a family and a place to leave. I have the papers for legal guardianship. I will get an attorney and all kind of help to get my daughter back. Doctors should talk to patiens when they are really stable with her mind clear.

Place is a joke , nasty employees trying to make patients angry . To keep place open so they have a job. the female employees has nasty attitude talks to visitors like they are criminals . The time they post for visiting is bull shyte. A facility where people suppose to be nice to patients is a facility where all the visitors got treated like war criminals . worse then jail visitors . what a waste of tax dollar or insurance dollars . women sitting on their computer were on there private agenda . I would even want my enemy to go there . This place needs a remodel as far a lotta employees go . One person say something , Other does something else . I hope they close this junkyard . Where regular troubled people get treated like war criminals. Few employee have no life , So they think others don't either. This is a negative star . I have to put a star or they wouldn't let me post it . They have like 5 big chickens running around out side . Few employees were so angry at us visitors like we have no rights . This women in their was screaming at every one . She need s to be fired for sure . She is giving every one a bad name there . I am so upset at the way I was treated . I will try till I get some positive results by even approaching news channels .

I got to this place thanks to my husband who put me in there for being "crazy" or acting " physyco . Horrible place to be at, no pillows, you walk the entire place with sucks they give you when check in, you have to walk on dirty floors, soack urine , they have man and woman place in the same rooms not privacy at all . If you are on medication you are completely screwed , you have to wait 24 hrs to see a Dr who's going to prescribe ibuprofen or Tylenol? The staff there saying they are there to help people get better? NOT AT ALL! They make things worst for patient. Not recommended at all.

The only good thing about SalusCare is the groups we had. Also Nurse Bill, Crystal (tech),Iisha(tech), Lily(tech), And Meg(Tech)should get some type of recognition . Besides that there is nothing good about this place. I told the discharge planner that I was not ready to go home, she sent me home and 6 days later I was in the E.R and then sent right back there. 95% of the staff that was there was only there for the money. There were staff that asked you to share your struggles with them so they could turn around and tell other staff. I attempted in there and they waited a grand total of 6 hours to send me to Golisano. I then returned 4 days later and I was put on a 1:1. They put my "bed" in the hallway and some of the staff would just get up and walk away when they were supposed to be in arms reach away from me.They put you in "Quiet time" from 12-2 so the techs can sit in the hallway and scroll on tiktok. I was having a conversation with someone and a staff member made the comment " If they really wanted to kill themselves they would just do it already". The last time I was there was Sep 18th 2022, Right before Hurricane Ian but I hope with the remodel they changed some things. Also you guys really outdid yourselves with giving patients pillows, maybe access to actual deodorant and not deodorant wipes will be next. Actually toothbrushes should be first.

Waited 3 days once in cape, two on Ortiz, all to get a nurse at home on video screen, who's more concerned about her landscapers than patients. It's like ice detention center. Not going to help you, find help anywhere else. I had stroke, not mental health issues, but Chemical imbalance. Never been back. Save your time, money and dignity, talk to God. These people are a joke and funding should be pulled from the state and federal government.

Salus care incorrectly diagnosed and medicated me for bpd and insonmia which led to medication dependence, losing my job, 2 more visits to a psych ward, all because they put me on medication that I didnt need which made me have continuous panic attacks, anxiety attacks, and induced ocd like symptoms and psychosis because thats what happens when you give antipsychotics and mood stabilizers to someone who doesnt need it.

This place is more like Alcatraz Prison in San Francisco Bay than a mental health facility. Facility is freezing cold. Beds are very uncomfortable. Lights are on in the rooms 24 hours a day. Food is often moldy. To send someone here, you really may as well just send them to the SHU at California's Pelican Bay State Prison.

These people almost destroyed my daughter's life. She went in for help because she ran out of her meds and couldn't get into a doctor until January. They called the sheriff, saying she overdosed twice at her home and sent them out with child protective services. In another county. Her husband answered the door and he and hidtwo teenage kids were horrified. She has never been a drug addict, never overdosed on anything. Thankfully the people that went to the house saw the mistake. They live in a nice home and my autistic grandson was traumatized by these ignorant people. Never go here. They need to be closed down.

OMG I AM LIVIDDDD I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES TRYING TO GET MY DAUGHTERS CLOTHES. My daughter was admitted for a Steroid Induced Psychosis (Taking more than 40mg of Prednisone per day). When she went in she had on Shorts and I went to visit her the next day during the hours of 6-7pm. First off the Safety of that Place is NO GOOD!! I sat and was talking to ELENA and She was explaining to me how the department runs and how safe the place was and how my daughter was in good hands until she saw a Dr the next day, well the group of people that came in the same time we did had to go through a FAKE security Check one of the Nurses had a Metal detector Wand and she wand down the 3 males and 2 females but neither me or my Husband was wand down, my Husband Remembered he had a Pocket knife on him and as they were going to Allow us to walk back to the unit without being wand He said out loud well โ€œI CANT GO BACK THERE BECAUSE I HAVE A POCKET KNIFE AND SHE DIDN'T EVEN WAND ME OR MY WIFE DOWNโ€ Elena said โ€œDONT WORRY ABOUT IT MY HUSBAND SAID โ€œNAH IM GOING TO THE CARโ€ He went to the car Dropped the Knife off and was able to enter the building AGAIN with out being wand.... So now we are in the unit and we see 3 kids sleeping in the hallway on the floor on mats, the floors were DIRTY!!!!! FILTHY at least the could of CLEANED UP KNOWING ITS VISITATION HOURS AND PARENTS ARE GOING TO PASS Judgement on CLEANLINESS! My daughter is suppose to drink water due to her Mixed Connective Tissue Disease when I visited my daughter I said have you been drinking water she told me that the water from the fountain tastes like CHLORINE I asked Elena Why does the water taste like CHLORINE is there anything other water system she clearly told me thatโ€™s all we have. 5/8/2019 I called trying to located my daughters clothes because on 5/6/2019 I came after the visit with my daughter to bring her clothes so she can take a shower, I went to Walmart and bought 3 pants 3 Shirts 4 Panties and 2 Bras. A young man in Blue Scrubs and glasses came to the door took the bag from me and said he would take it to the youth department. On 5/7/2019 I called to speak to my daughter I said Nay did you get your stuff I brought for you...she said no they only gave her 1 shirt 1 pants 1 panty and 1 bra I said WHERE IS THE REST OF YOUR STUFF....she said I donโ€™t know it Make be in the locker...later that day I got a call from Discharge saying she was going home. I instantly called my husband to come and pick up Nay from the Facility. When my daughter got home I went through he things and noticed the rest of her belongings were missing. That means it wasnโ€™t even given to her I spent $60 at Walmart for those belongings. As I called I spoke to Sally she told me she will sit on the phone with me while they locate it she found the inventory form with the items I brought in but NO ITEMS. I was told they might have put it in the Laundry and it takes about an hour and they would call me back I NEVER GOT THAT PHONE CALL....5/8/19 I called between hours of 7:45 and 8:30 pm A man answer the phone from the Crisis unit. I said โ€œHELLO CAN YOU PLEASE TRANSFER TO THE YOUTH DEPARTMENTโ€ RUDLY HE SAID โ€œMAM THERE IS NOT A YOUTH DEPARTMENT THERE IS AN ADOLESCENT DEPARTMENT I SAID SIR ITS THE SAME THING...HE ARGUED BACK N FORTH OVER THE PHONE TO WHERE I COUDNT BELIEVE HOW Unprofessional he handled the called He also threatened me with law-enforcement told me that if I called back again he was going to call the Authorities. Thatโ€™s when I started to record the call I had to call back 13 Times between the hours of 8:12pm-8:34pm because this man kept seeing my number come up and hanging up the phone. Finally Jim got on the phone I told him what was going he transferred me over to YOUTH SERVICE I spoke to Elena she told me they are still unable to find my daughters clothes I then asked to speak to the Head Nurse...because at this point I need to file a compliment. I spoke to Cynthia she took the time to hear what was going on she offered to look it, but she also couldnโ€™t find it.

I cannot comment on the beds or other physical aspects of this facility but I can comment on the staff (especially Christine) and the director who NEVER gave up on a family member of mine who was a patient there. Another inpatient facility in town would discharge my family member with a handful of prescriptions and papers without follow up resulting in repeat admissions due to noncompliance. The staff at Saluscare showed true compassion and concern for my family members welfare. I am truly grateful for what they did.

We brought my sister a big lululemon bag with new clothes and her glasses in it for overnight and they never gave it to her. They said they โ€œlostโ€ it and that was their excuse. So sheโ€™s been in sweaty clothes and hasnโ€™t been able to see all day. They have cameras everywhere and didnโ€™t look at them for her bag. They will find it or replace the stuff. Will not stop until she gets it back. This is supposed to be a safe environment so someone explain this. Will be calling the police if not resolved. If I could put zero stars, I would.

Did you know that anyone can call the police and say that you said that you're suicidal and off you go? My few hours there was enough to make a person suicidal. Rude female staff pick on patients. It's a hallway with beds that's it ,nothing to look at nothing to read , A iNightmare Asylum. A full 72 hours would be equivalent to burning in hell.Stay away!!!

Today I was highly tried by the unprofessionalism from Sally and Dr. O. Instead of talking to me in regards to my child she decided to indirectly talk to my partner and kept asking everyone else to talk to me. Trying to stale/ fishing. Mind you the doctor called me on the number of the facility and all of a sudden sally says she called from Zoom. Waste of time and highly inappropriate from a mother stand point

This place is such a dump the nurses and staff they donโ€™t know what they are doing. They need to be trained and they need to know how to speak to the patients as well really bad experience I will never bring a family member again to this place.

Better off helping yourself than expect help from this place. Seems to me they are only interested in donations and tax payers money. They make it hard to make an appointment if you have to call in an appointment. Nothing is easy to do which is strange when dealing with people with issues. Itโ€™s a bad joke.

Beds are Hard. Pillows have you laying flat on your back. It gets cold and they only allow 1 blanket that is very thin. Staff were nice to me. Only on a couple occasions did they tell me wrong information and mislead me. But Hated it here. Would not recommend.

I and my family raised thousands of dollars for SalusCare, advocating for them, thinking they were helping people. They talk a good talk, but their care is worse than jail! After having my adult son there in crisis care at Deer Run, I speak from first hand experience that this place is a horror chamber. I have all their documentation proving of hours of restraints and isolation, injections of antipsychotic drugs they were told he cannot take due to adverse reactions, HIPPA violations, refusing to let family see him for visitation, refusing to transfer him.

Finances says we owe them $700 even though my sessions are free because we are poor and qualified for it. But my therapist I've seen since I was a freshman is a warm person with a great heart everyone else seems very lazy and more like a school counselor. I was sent here and they didn't give us toothbrushes because a girl with an eating disorder used it to throw up. Staff told me patients are crazy but they make fun of patient.
