I spend two weeks in Fort Myers every winter, and when I'm I'm town, this is where I train BJJ, I've trained all over the US and in Europe and Professor Carl, Kristina and the gang are without a doubt the most gracious and hospitable hosts I've ever had. The training was absolutely top-notch and I left with new techniques that i've added to my game and even some fixes on old techniques I already had. Traveling to Fort Myers is always nice, but VBJJ to train at is one of the highlights of my trips. OSS!

I live outside Chicago and own a small gym. I dropped in while visiting the area. I drop in a lot of gyms when I travel. This was one of the most welcoming gyms I've been to. Every person that came in personally walked up and introduced themselves. Everyone was I rolled with was a ton of fun and very skilled. A variety of all color belts on the mat. All of them tough rolls. I was very impressed with the school and will definitely be back. If I was a local this is definitley the gym I would join.

Vickery is a fantastic place to train. The instructors are friendly and talented and this is especially true of the owner Carl. He takes the time to help each of his students develop at their own pace. From the basics to advanced techniques, Carl provides detail oriented instruction. All of the members in the gym are also great people with no egos and are very welcoming to new-comers. Additionally, many classes have somebody representing each belt so whatever your skill level is, you can find somebody to roll with. I highly encourage you to come train in a great environment with top-notch instruction and great people at Vickery. You won't be disappointed!

Definitely one of Best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA gyms in the USA. I have trained all over the US and Europe, and for a fact this gym has the best guys and Carl Vickery may just be the best instructor I have ever met... aside from the Awesome Jiu Jitsu, it’s a great environment for the family. The children’s program is off the charts.. and Kristina (management) was always the nicest and very helpful at times where I needed it..... Keep an eye out for Vickery Bjj... it’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu little secret layer of killers (obviously not literally killers).

I stopped in to train with Vickery Jiu Jitsu twice while I was in town on vacation. I am from an awesome Pedro Sauer affiliate in Louisville, Kentucky, and I will say the guys at Vickery BJJ made me feel right at home. They truly have great Jiu Jitsu and a welcoming atmosphere. Their work ethic is also first rate. I would recommend this school to anyone in the Ft. Myers area who wants to learn authentic Jiu Jitsu. Carl Vickery is a great instructor, and it shows in both the technique and humility of his students.

Carl is a very knowledgeable coach. His Brazilian Jiu -Jitsu teaching is very informative and applicable to all styles of grappling. There are many talented members of this gym who are both friendly and welcoming to new people. Not only is Carl a talented black belt but he is a very talented boxer who will help you improve that aspect of your training too. I highly recommend this gym as a home for those living in the area as well as a place to visit when traveling through.

If you're in the market for some quality martial arts training, look no further. These guys offer the best in technical instruction, while also providing a gym environment that just feels like home. There's no better feeling than being in an environment where everyone wants to see you succeed, which is exactly what I've found here. Simply put: you couldn't pay me to go anywhere else.

Instruction is great and as aggressive or relaxed as an individual desires.Carl and Kristina truly care about the gym culture. I always feel welcome whether I’m there daily or have missed a lot of time on the mat. My son also trains in the kids class and loves it. He even wrote a school paper about Carl being a positive role model! It’s our second home.

Vickery Jiu-Jitsu offers world class BJJ Thai Boxing classes in an incredibly friendly and encouraging atmosphere. The instructors treat their students like family and are willing to explain techniques in great detail. The higher level students are all often willing to stay after class wheter to train or to help others with technique. By far one of the best schools I've trained at in the country, amd I've trained at quite a few. Stop in and see what the hype is about.

I've been to a few different schools, and this school has been the best. The instructor really cares about his students and their progression in jiu jitsu. The classes are great from beginner to advanced. The owners go out of their way to create a team and family atmosphere. What more can I say; it's simply the best.

This is the best martial arts school in Lee County, hands down. Whether you're a pro looking to hone certain parts of your game or an amateur enthusiast just looking for a great hobby, Vickery Jiu-Jitsu and MMA is the place to go. Carl cultivates an atmosphere of hard work, respect, safety and most importantly FUN! You won't find a more dedicated group of instructors and training partners anywhere else. Everyone is eager to learn and to help others learns, and it's a direct result of the culture of respect that Carl Vickery has instilled in his team. Check it out, you won't be disappointed!!!

Christina was kind and friendly and gave me a follow up call. This isn't the school for me, I'm older (a lot older lol) and I need a school with something more aerobic. But I appreciated the chance to see these experts.

This is such an amazing school. Carl the Head Instructor and all the people there really make you feel right at home. I've been there over a year now and absolutely love it. If you're trying to find the right spot to learn Jiu Jitsu or MMA you've come to the right spot!

Small, but quality Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy. Excellent instructor, good with kids too.

Excellent jiujitsu training for adults and kids. Head Instructor Carl Vickery is an excellent teacher and competitor who is very knowledgeable on both old school and advanced jiujitsu techniques that can be applied effectively either on the streets for self defense or in competitions. The men and women who train under him are very respectful (no egos) and you don't have to worry about getting hurt while training, and most importantly very skilled. So if you're looking for a jiujitsu academy, I highly suggest to check this place out. It's literally a gem for people who is looking for serious jiujitsu training.

The best way to learn better techniques better than the average begginer is to train at a gym that actually knows how to create savage grapplers and mma,and that gym is vickery jiu jitsu. Not strict and very open minded people. Great environment to train comfortably.

Recently moved to Ft Myers. I have trained at gyms with different affiliations across the state and Vickery Jiu Jitsu & MMA is excellent! Carl & Kristina make you feel like part of a family from the moment you walk in the door. Carl's breakdown of techniques is fascinating and he really takes the time for his students to learn properly. Great group of people that train here.

I was completely new to Jui-Jitsu, but that didn't stopped me from participating at this gym. Carl has created a positive learning environment full of friendly respectful people. Everyone keeps a positive attitude while doing drills and free practice with each other. The monthly cost of training seemed scary at first, but when training a few days a week, I saw it was worth every penny. If you're new or experienced I believe this is a great place to start/continue your journey.

Just a short note of Thanks to Carl, Patrick, Brock and Jeremiah for the great instruction the past 5 weeks. And a shout out to every student I got to drill and roll with. It’s been a great place to train in every way. Highly recommend.

Came in while visiting my parents from out of town and man did I feel welcome. The guys that train here are respectful, roll without needing to prove anything, and are very technical. Carl was very detailed in his instruction and made me feel like I would easily call this place home if I lived in the area. Thanks for making me feel welcomed guys and thanks for the good rolls.

If you’re reading this and wondering if this is the right place to finally start BJJ, stop reading and go in. It is the right place. All levels from beginners to experts benefit from this gym. Whether you’re a hardcore martial artist or a hobbyist who just wants to blow off steam with some casual rolling, Carl makes sure you get what you “want” out of BJJ. The environment is very laid back. The higher belts always lend you a helping hand. Everyone wants you to succeed. And when you’re ready, there are plenty of opportunities to turn up the intensity. One of my favorite things about the gym is that it’s okay to show up late, plus, the gym stays open til about 9 — 9:30pm. Stop reading. Go.
