Actually a 3.5. We went here to celebrate my birthday dinner. I honestly have to say, we prefer Segovia in Little Ferry much better. The food here is missing something. The shrimp bisque was bland. The crab cake appetizer had so much breading. I had lobster and shrimp in garlic sauce over linguine. It was so hard to eat because the lobster was still in the shells with the sauce all over it. This meant cracking the shells and getting your entire hands soaked in sauce. It was not particularly lady-like. My boyfriend had scallop & shrimp stuffed sole. You couldn’t find a scallop, minuscule shrimp, and it again was a ton of breading. The two pros of this dinner were the waiter Matthew who also was the bartender. He gave tremendous service and made one hell of a sangria. We skipped the dessert for my birthday.

My boss and I went here for lunch. When we arrived we parked in the private lot. We walked in and was sat by one of the servers. Steve was our server. I started with the uptown but it wasn't sweet so I stuck with water. For my meal I got the stuffed salmon lunch special. My boss got a chicken dish. The food took a while to come out. When it finally did both meals looked great. I dug in and added a little salt and pepper to my salmon. It was more tasty when I did. There was plenty for me to eat and take home. My boss enjoyed his chicken dish. The bill was very reasonable. All in all I had a good experience.

First time going and the food, drinks and atmosphere was wonderful. Look forward to going back.

I had an outstanding experience at Segovia Tavern! Our server, Matt, provided excellent service, making our family feel welcomed. The food was nothing short of amazing, leaving us with a memorable and delightful dining experience. Highly recommend!

The atmosphere and service is great. The food, in comparison to more authentic Spanish and Portuguese, could use more of an upgrade. Considering the area and clientel, it is understandable that the menu is more americanized. One thing that should stand out is the steaks, however. Below are some pictures.

The food is excellent. However, service seems lax. A lot of people walking around doing nothing. Seems like they are not supervised properly. At the end of our meal we had half a skirt steak left over with a good portion of rice, vegetables, and chips. It was obvious we would want it wrapped. When the server came to take our plates, I made a comment "I can't wait to finish that for lunch tomorrow" which to me means..wrap it up for me. She smiled and took away all the plates. She never brought back the food we wanted wrapped and when I asked her she said she thru it in the trash but would talk to her manager. The manager came over without apologizing and said the chef had left so he couldn't make us another one (about 9:30pm). He asked if we wanted dessert on the house or he could take a couple glasses of wine off of our bill which I thought was fair. Also what seemed unprofessional was as we were eating dessert, a few of the service staff were hanging out sitting on the fireplace on their phones while customers were still finishing their meals. Just seems like they need to tighten up their service a bit, it's a shame because the food is excellent.

We had a great evening here! We were a party of 10. All dishes were very good! Every plate had an incredible amount of food on it. All of us brought food home. Drinks were on point and our server was great at what he does and had a great sense of humor. Loved it all. We will definitely be back!

We've been multiple times for dinner and takeout and has always been great. So good we decided to celebrate our daughter's birthday in their private room and it did not disappoint. The family style appetizers and tremendous buffet had our guests raving. 40 adults and 15 kids under the age of 6 was no easy test for the staff and they exceeded expectation both in quality and freshness of food to attentiveness of our guests every need. Would recommend to anyone. A special thanks to Matt, he was our point person for everything. He helped with everything from planning to menu selections, as well as throughout the entire party. He personally made sure we had everything we needed and that our guests plates and glasses remained full throughout.

We had our company party there the last two years and could not be happier.. They were extremely accommodating, Service was great and food was top notch.. Highly recommend and will definitely be going back thank you Manny for making it happen.

It’s a shame because we would come here often. We made reservation for 8 adults and 2 children. We had our meal, but the entire time we were being rushed by the staff. We made an early reservation at 4 pm to beat the crowd. An older man apparently running the place who was arguing with his staff the entire time, came over to me after we finished our dessert and asked if we are done. I told him we were finishing our sangria and would leave. He starts pointing at the watch on his arm and raised his eyebrows at me, and I asked him if he was kicking us out! I can’t make this up. Very disappointing. We brought it up to him while we’re we’re leaving and starts to argue with us saying we aren’t on time to leave, whatever that means!!! Will not be going back completely rude and unprofessional, not to mention our bill was $800 and we left a very generous tip. We asked to speak to someone in charge and he yelled at us that he’s the boss!! After realizing the conversation was going no where, we left. Drive down a little further to trovato’s. Food is always great and the service is on point!!

Exceptional service and staff is top tier. Paul the manager not only welcomed us with the red carpet treatment, but went above and beyond in PERSONALLY assisting us with a flat tire situation (certainly NOT in his job description). First time here, they are beyond accommodating, food and vibe is delicious and I would travel out of my way to come back and support this local gem.
