Veya Restaurant above Sandy Ground. Another team oriented service configuration very well executed in a charming two story villa and planted grounds including a koi pond and Omari Banks playing outside down below in Meze, their small plates bar. The two-top we were sat at was touching a thick opened door - slightly uncomfortable starting situation increased by the ubiquitous plastic itchy placemats and too-dim lighting to read the menu. Glass of rosé and a slightly too sweet Veya sparkler to start greeted the bread plate with a fresh hot Johnny cake, soft butter and banana and pumpkin breads that were gone too soon with no offer to replenish. Lobster fritters made me forget all about the concept of conch! Very good... brightly flavored batter (slightly wet, not enough cornmeal, and missing cakiness) let individual elements of fresh ginger, bell peppers and the delicious lobster come through and the sriracha aioli was a perfect sauce. Charred-grilled furikake broccoli with abundant slightly sweet furikake had been par boiled so was perfect texture and again had a yuzu aioli... very good! Then choose a glass of albariño and a Malbec. Butter poached lobster dish was exceptionally conceived with perfectly cooked spinach risotto and crispy shaved parsnip chips - yum!!! Moelleux with almond ice cream was disappointing to me, though my companion enjoyed it. Lava cake, even under practiced and controlled conditions, is a gamble at best, and all too often either unoozing/set, or too-runny, as I felt this one was. The very hot surface all but melted the ice cream into just almond cream. We had a glass of Warres LBV to accompany and then made our way out into the night. Significantly more creative combinations than what is seen on much of Anguilla that are all very well executed (and again very fast firing between courses -- not easy to accomplish reliably anywhere) and with attentive staff each performing their times made this last-night pricey treat very well worth it. Would absolutely return to try everything on the menu, though without the scratchy placemats.

Beautiful little restaurant! You're located within what I believe is a botanical gardens (as we were there at night, I couldn't be totally sure) but on the second floor it puts you up with the tops of the trees for a very romantic feel. There were no bugs which I was very surprised about being in a garden. The service was wonderful. By far the fastest we've had on the island. The lobster fritters and shrimp cigars were amazing along with the salad. The ribeye special was wonderful and the fish was beautifully done. The sauces were all fantastic. The dessert!! Oh My The dessert! The keylime pie was amazing and tangy. The lava cake was decadent and melty. I would come back for that alone!

Experience fine dining from the tree tops, with exquisite cuisine and impeccable service. We had the grilled lobster, and just fell straight into a flavor fest! The owners are very visible and make you feel so welcome. Don’t miss this experience!

wow ...YEYA xxoo I can't say enough about the special restaurant located in Sandy Ground, Anguilla. The food is absolutely phenomenal. Order everything, Lobster, and you'll absolutely love it. The lobster fritters are probably the best lobster related menu item that I and my family have ever eaten. The lobster bisque is to die for! The service, the staff is so so friendly. We celebrated a birthday at VEYA and the staff all sang and had smiles on their faces. VEYA is worth the trip, worth the money and worth the time. I wish we could bring this restaurant back home with us! On your trip to Anguilla if you're only planning to visit one special restaurant pick VEYA. I can't wait to get back to Anguilla again and visit VEYA ❤️❤️

This was, quite literally, the best meal my wife and I have ever had! The atmosphere, the food, the service - all perfect. We ordered the lobster fritters to start - in addition to the Johnny cakes, the fritters were delicious. I tried the shrimp - the curry sauce was phenomenal, along with the hush puppies - and my wife had the mahi mahi. The addition of sticky rice to the fish completely transformed and elevated it. For dessert, I got the apple pear crisp. The ice cream, combined with the warm hot crumble, is amazing. If in Anguilla, you HAVE to eat here!

The atmosphere top notch; the live music was a perfect mixture to sitting up in the trees with a nice ambiance. We started off with three appetizers which were excellent 🔥 - Lobster 🦞 Fritters - Moroccan Shrimp 🍤 - Leafy Greens 🥬 All were excellent, as well as the drinks. These are a must try. For our main entrees we ordered Spicy Jerk Tuna w/ a pineapple rum Butter poached lobster and spinach risotto They were good but they were just lacking true Caribbean flavor. Drinks and live music to end the night made for a nice evening.

Wonderful food and top notch service. Make sure you go to Veya at least once during your trip to Anguilla. Wednesday is “crayfish day”: Super fresh, delicious, for just $5 each.

This is a must do for dinner in Anguilla! The food is based a course menu, although you can customize it a bit. The food is amazing here! Definitely one of the best places to eat in Anguilla. While I don’t believe there was a mandatory dress code, it feels very much “fine dine”. The setting at Veya is also one of the best of the experience, at night it looks like you are surrounded by a rainforest. If you are looking to try some great local food in Anguilla, don’t miss this spot for Dinner!

Recommended to us from a local, did not disappoint! Staff were kind and attentive .. and there was lovely live music downstairs nearby. We tried the shrimp cigars, lobster and the lamb chops which were cooked beautifully. Also I don’t know what they put in their biscuit/bread but that was delicious. Looking forward to visiting again!

We have eaten at all the ripe reviewed restaurants on this island. Veya was by far our favorite meal. In addition to fantastic and unique dishes, the service was terrific. Butter poached lobster with risotto, Shrimp with curry and the snapper special were some of our favorites. Salads/starters were unique and delicious as was dessert. Even the bread service was fantastic and unique.

What an amazing meal. Tamika's service was exceptional and the food is very very good. The fish soup was something else, one of the best soups we ever had. Grilled lobster was perfectly cooked and that sauce is so good. Highly recommend Veya!

Veya is amazing!! The restaurant itself is beautiful. The service was stellar. And the food was scrumptious! If you are looking for a fancy or romantic experience, this is the place for that. We were here on vacation, and just in our super casual vacation clothes (t-shirts and shorts) but they served us like we were royalty anyway. 😂. Husband got lobster, son got seared mahi-mahi, and I had the pumpkin soup and a few bites off of my kid’s and husband’s plates. They served us fresh breads to start (Johnny cakes, pumpkin spice bread, and banana bread) which were delicious. We also ordered a couple of appetizers- the steak lettuce wraps and a ceviche dish. The boys had sorbet for dessert (they tried all the flavors and loved the coconut lime the best -all were great) and I had a decaf coffee with cream. I’m pretty sure they used high quality espresso beans because it tasted phenomenal (and I am a latteaholic and it did not taste like plain ol’ coffee to me). Anyway, eating here was like experiencing a moment in heaven. Not a cheap restaurant, but it was worth every penny.

If I could give 10 stars I would! The food: we had the lobster bisque and consider ourselves lobster bisque officionados coming from penn state, but this had a distinctly island take while still Being sophisticated. The lobster fritters were made of generous chunks of lobster with just enough filling to hold it together. The crudo of the day was ceviche with plantain chips. It was so good even my husband who does not love fish loved it. I had the tuna rare and I do not know what the chef did but it was the best tuna I’ve ever had. Crusted in some crunchy savory spicy (not not too spicy) mixture and served with a perfectly grilled pineapple slice, a cooked vegetable salsa, grilled veg and plantain chips. A feast for the eyes and the palate. My husband had the lamb chops which were done perfectly and so flavorful. The dessert menu was no less inventive. The tahini fudge with chocolate gelato and homemade oat crumble was a revelation. The staff were so kind, attentive and personable. We were well cared for without feeling stifled. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the lighting, decor and music were perfect for a date night, special occasion or just a quiet tete a tete. It is a little fancy so break out the good dress for this one. You will be thrilled with your meal and your evening.

Don’t believe all the reviews. No crayfish on the menu. Made a special trip for that only to be rudely told no. Tried to call beforehand but they don’t answer the phone

Beautiful venue, amazing food. We enjoyed so much on our first visit that we had to eat at Veya a 2 nd time before returning home. The grilled lobster with mustard passionfruit sauce was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Johnny cakes and bread choices are excellent, great cocktails and wine and several salads to choose from. It was definitely our best two meals on the island.

I definitely recommend this place. The food was excellent as well as the service. You may even run into a famous person. Janet Jackson walked in and sat at the table right next to me. That made my wife's and I anniversary one to remember.

  • 1/5 Bernie B. 2 years ago on Google
Make sure you clarify you don’t want to be stuck in the entrance. We sat there and after people kept walking by us we asked for a proper table. It took almost 30 minutes to get a table. It’s as if they just threw an extra table at the entrance where people walked in. There were no less than five other tables available and they waited until one crammed in the back was available. Make sure you clarify you want a proper table. Completely ridiculous.

Excellent food and service. We dined at multiple establishments on the island during our seven days and this was our best meal. It is a locally owned and loved establishment. There was also live music which created a fun ambiance. Thank you for having us and making it a memorable experience.

Amazing. Great live music downstairs. Booked a trip on the Tradition for a sunset cruise and had a 7:30 here for dinner and had plenty of time. AMAZING food. Grilled crayfish were superb.

Dinner with friends. Nice restaurant in the middle of Anguilla. Nice table, nice menu and good timing to the first course. Live music. Very nice panzerotti bread. A very good experience.

World Class Vegan dish nearly overlooked. Have eaten here for 20 years and enjoyed the menu when I ate meat, but the Cauliflower + tofu dish on the menu tonite was greatly under appreciated by the staff. The spiced spinach, reminded me of truffles, this was the best dish I’ve had this trip no offense to all my favorites.

Amazing food and atmosphere! Lobster bisque was excellent. Desserts were off the charts good. The banana cheesecake parfait…it doesn’t get much better than that!!
