Brilliant place for a family visit, but not advisable for small children. The price is fair. We took the short 60 minute tour, but for sure we will be back next year ( or before) for the 100 minute tour, which is 4km drive from the 60 minute tour cave. There is a guide who escorts you through the cave, stopping at certain places to explain the history. It was interesting and quite amazing. We took extra warm clothes in a back pack, just incase we got cold half way through. But there was no need, I was in shorts and a t shirt. Other people in light jackets. Once the tour is over, you have a pleasant walk back over the hills to the beginning. Out side the cave in the surrounding areas (walking) there is souvenir shops and 3 restaurants, well places to eat. Not high class restaurants, I would rather say , quick food points, but you order and can sit in pleasant surroundings and enjoy your food. The food price was also good value and not your typical tourist resort extortionate price. There is a small play ground, all in all it's a full day program. After the cave you can walk around the Forrest.

One of the best and most beautiful cave in the world. Aggtelek is charming and very good for a long walk a picknick and relax eat flogged food at the cave legs restaurant. The cave offered different length hike where you can be amazed by the nature and enjoy the views. Recommend absolutely.

The Aggtelek cave complex is an amazing network of ancient caves in Hungary and Slovakia. The nature park offers different guided tours according to a variety of difficulty levels and durations. There are two entrances (with ticket offices) for the different tours, located a few minutes car ride from each other. The visits show the impressive caves, with beautiful stalagmites and others shapes. It’s cold down there, so dress accordingly. The tours at the time that when we went, were only offered in Hungarian, which is not unusual in Hungary. There are brochures with some minimal information in other languages, including English. However, the guide did not even bother to clearly name the different formations for non-native speakers, so you were regularly made to wait somewhere for a long Hungarian explanation without any idea where you were, without being able to follow in the brochure.

Beautiful cave, more than on Slovak side. The thing is, that there is only Hungarian guide so we only read the paper guide they gave us. Parking is free and the entry was around 7-8€.

This is a great place to visit all year long. The temperature stays the same at around 10C, so make sure you bring a jacket and wear shoes suitable for wet surfaces. The walkway in the cave is nicely done and easy to walk around for an hour or longer. You might even see some bats! We did! Plus, their website about opening times is accurate.

(Translated by Google) Domica from the Hungarian side was a very pleasant trip. You can also pay by card upon entry. You pay 2600ft for an adult and only 2000ft for students. Upon entering, they will give you a brochure about the cave in the Slovak language. One disadvantage is that the guide speaks only Hungarian. The cave has 8 halls. Each of them is something interesting. It's cold in the cave. The tour lasts about an hour. The trip I definitely recommend is worth going through. There is one room in the cave with a light show :) (Original) Domica z maďarskej strany bola veľmi príjemný výlet.

(Translated by Google) Fantastic caves stretching for kilometers ... Scenery out of this world. Unforgettable views. Guided tours included in the price. One star less, because I don't know Hungarian and the guide doesn't know any other language than his native language. Still, I definitely recommend it! (Original) Fantastyczne jaskinie ciągnące się kilometrami... Sceneria wprost nie z tej ziemi. Niezapomniane widoki. Zwiedzanie z przewodnikiem w cenie. My best cave experience ever !! Although the tour guide speaks only in Hungarian, the lady at the cash point nkted that we wouldn't understand a thing and gave us a summary leaflet in English about the history of caves and its story. It was an hour tour seeing many kinds of different shaped rocks and even bats. Highly recommended especially if you like caves and rocks ! Tours start every hour.

Large cave, lots of rooms. But if you have seen other caves like the Ice Cave in Poland, it's honestly not so interesting. Worth seeing but not worth a detour (imho).

Beautiful caves and an amazing opportunity to walk inside of them with a well lit path and a guided tour. Not very foreigner friendly as the tour is in Hungarian only but even without the explanations it is still worth the visit.

A nice cave tour.... lots of bats hibernating when we walked through. The guide only spoke Hungarian, so we understood nothing, but a great attitude and walking tour. Afterward we hiked to the top of the mountain and this too was amazing! Beautiful place in nature.

We came to the Baradla cave. On the other side of the road we found a big parking lot, free of charge. Entering the cave is possible only with a guided tour, which occurs three time a day - 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00, as for our time of visit. The guided tours and ONLY in hungarian... They gave a nice paper with some information, but seeing the hungarian enjoy a much more fun tour made feel like we missed an important part of the tour. Except from that, the cave was amazing and beautiful. We paid 2000 Forint each for being students. We are neither hungarian nor European unions citizens, so bring your student ID if you have one, even if your are from outside the EU !!! Bottom line - highly recommend, even if you don't speak hungarian, enjoy! :)

Visited on an Educational Trip. Cave tour was an amazing experience. Especially the cinema experience in the caves. There is a giant stalactite that holds the record for highest stalactite in the world. There's plenty of good food and entertainment around the cave entrance. With a subsided ticket anyone can visit the amazing Aggtelekk caves in Northern Hungary.

There are two entrances (with ticket offices) for the different tours, located a few minutes car ride from each other. About tours and its starting date and place check their website

  • 4/5 P N. 11 months ago on Google
Free parking on the opposite side of the road (during the off-season). Friendly reception at the ticket office. As the tour was offered in Hungarian language only, the receptionist offered well-written and sufficiently detailed A4 leaflets (printed on both sides) in various languages. The cave comprises several impressive and different large halls including a concert hall. During the tour you get an impression of the accusations as the guide starts a light and sound show. The paths are well maintained and easily walkable, including some steps though (not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers). The tour took about 55 minutes and could be paid for by card. Access to the cave is possible only at specified times which can result in some waiting time. However, there are possibilities to take a short walk, visit an outdoor exhibitiona playground, a restaurant, and a souvenir shop. Only 4 stars because the guide showed no motivation at all and didn't even make an attempt to greet foreigners or show them on the map where in the cave you currently are.

This is a must do thing in Hungary. I drove 3 hrs from Budapest to here to get into the caves in early morning. You can not get in by yourself you have to go with the tour and guide, the tour is about an hour and 1km long. You enter here and get out at different location. The guide takes you through different parts of the caves and explains every thing. It is very cold inside the caves around 10deg C so better to take warm clothes. It extends more than 25.5 km.

A beautiful place that should be on your must-see list. Photographs cannot do justice to the beauty of this place. The entrance to the cave as well as the ticket office is located 5min from the free car park. The tour takes about one hour. It is good to prepare warm clothing, the temperature inside is around 12 degrees. The paths are wide, so moving around inside is comfortable.

Bigger more monumental Hungarian side of caves. It is truly a massive complex - sheer size of their concert hall!! and we highly recommend taking some flashlights with you, both adults and kids have great fun exploring tunnels with lights. Tours are every 2 hours, groups are big, and could have easily fit more of them, for more personal experience. It took circa 1 hour to walk around with a guide.Pity it was only in Hungarian.

If you're in the area, then it's worth a trip but if you don't speak Hungarian, then I'd not travel too far to visit. The tour guide was adamant that we listen to all her information even though we couldn't understand a word and would much rather have been taking pictures of the cave features. She made more than one joke at our expense in Hungarian. If you're travelling through Europe and want to see some caves, go to Postojna in Slovenia. It would be beneficial for this place to have numbered guide sheets for non-native speakers to follow along with the guide. As others have said, the temperature is a mild 10°C in the cave, so bring a jacket.

Very interesting place. A huge cave. Sizes of some of the chambers are just enormous. Might (actually, it is) crowd during the season. I was there in late September and was perfect. No crowds at all. On a negative side, the guide used only Hungarian, even though 2/3 of visitors were foreigners. Apart from that, all good.

Beautiful place worth to visit!!! Might be considered that the services are not so high standard like ie Postojna Cave, but so admission fees are also lower priced. The cave itself is beautifully dripstoned, the visitable path visit some very interesting halls and coridors. One can choose the other hungarian side tour (Vorosto - Josvafo, the Slovakian tour at Domica), or the long (6-7 hours) "real" speleo tour guided between Aggtelek and Josvafo (this has to be booked in advance).

(Translated by Google) Beautiful, but under-criticized the way they drive a person, the tour guide is even mischievous with the elderly niis that he should already be out there, to move on. Maybe fewer people would have to be admitted to the group and then the end of the line would not be in the dark in the room, because everyone is in a hurry. But the cave ... Miracle is beautiful. The cave is really big and friendly to small kids. It was so amazing for us to visit it with our two little boys. The temperature inside was quite low, around 10 degrees so that it would be good to prepare some clothes for visiting. The only problem is that it is not easy to find a good place for lunch after the 11’clock tour. There is a restaurant next to the cave but not many choices for eating.
