    The staff who worked on us were very kind, so I've felt conflicted about leaving a negative review but ultimately appreciate honesty and hope this helps someone in the future. This was a TERRIBLE spa experience. I wanted to purchase a Groupon to treat my sisters to a spa day. I called a month in advance to confirm we could use 3 in one day and told them the price listed, but they asked me to book directly with them so they don't get dinged for the cut Groupon takes. I figured that was fair and paid for my booking. Someone else called back the next day and said actually, the price has increased for this package. She was quite rude about it. I thought that was extremely odd and but figured it was just an honest mistake so kept my appointment. I paid for a package for 3 that should have included an hour long "gemstone" facial, an hour massage, a "gemstone" pedicure and a hand mask with massage. When we arrived there was a lot of confusion about who would be providing our services, it seemed like no one knew what we had booked. My facial lasted 40 minutes, when I mentioned it should have been 60 was told my skin just "absorbed it all so fast". She kept saying we were getting the Yonka facial with the lotion they use on burn victims in the hospital 🤔 Not a gemstone in sight for any of us (a Yonka is $35 cheaper than the gemstone facial according to their website). The massage was good. The pedicures were awful (see photos) and extremely inconsistent. My one sister got a nearly hour with lotion and exfoliation and massage, mine was about 30 mins and she forgot half the steps. No lotion, no massage. Again, not a gemstone in sight for any of us (not that I really care but we paid extra for the experience so would have appreciated getting what we paid for). The hand "mask" was literally a plastic mask you can buy at target for $3 (see photos), definitely no massage. We felt really bad because the ladies providing services were nice but it seems like this place is horribly managed. The cherry on top is that when we went to give tip, we gave what we felt was appropriate given the level of service and that we didn't get half of what we paid for, which was 18% and the woman at the front desk had the AUDACITY to say average tips were much higher. It took all self control not to just walk out in that moment, but we felt it would be unfair to the women who worked on us. Avoid this place at all costs!! Definitely not worth it!

    Just had my first experience at shimmer and it wasn't the best. I went in for a "free" hair consultation. I met with Grace and she told me she was going to take a stand of my hair to do a dye test on it. After cutting a strand of my hair, she disappears and comes back telling me I owe her $20 for them to test it! That would have been nice to know before you cut my hair! By the way, free means no charge! Not good business. I didn't go there with any money as this was supposed to be free. I had to walk out. Terrible first impression.

    Lorraine is fabulous! I was a client of hers at least 8 years ago. Just happen to run into her here. She isn’t there to just perform her facials. She cares about what you do to your skin. She recommended a different service based upon what was best for my skin at that particular moment. Thank you Lorraine! Glad I ran into you again. It was fate 😊 see you soon

    Terrible experience…. I bought a Groupon that was for a gemstone pedicure, facial and massage. I was one of the first customers of the day… no one was there to provide the services…when I finally got the pedicure started the woman doing it had no idea what she was doing…she said it was too early for her and she was still half asleep (it was 10:30 am) halfway through she told me someone else would be taking over….waited another 15 minutes for someone one to finish!! The same person that started my pedicure did my facial.. she kept repeating how much she loved the products they use but then told me that baking soda and witch hazel are just as good and I could get them at the dollar store!!! The massage was done by someone else and was okay. The whole place is totally unorganized! They make sure to collect a 20% tip on the full amount before the services! The did not deserve the tip! It was awful!!

    I give this place one star and that’s being generous. My husband purchased a Princess spa day package for me to enjoy a day of relaxation. Let me just say, this place is unprofessional. They demanded 20 percent tip before I got any services done. I was so disgusted by the demand that I simply told the male receptionist that I would tip after my services. However, he kept insisting. But I held my ground and tipped the girls what I thought was necessary after they finished the service. Please do yourself a favor and go to a place where the client actually matter and where you will truly enjoy your service.

    Shimmer salon is great! I called on Sunday and was accommodated with Shayna on Tuesday. She is an expert stylist and so fun to speak with.she took the time to talk with me first to understand what’s I was looking for. They use high quality products. I will be returning!

    Not cool with how long you have to wait to see if they approve your request on Vagaro. Each day that passes i could book with someone and make sure i can get that service done when i need it. Was going to call them and check but i see they don’t have good reviews. Every little thing in a business counts, even how long you make your potential clientele wait to get an appointment.

    Extremely pleased with my results, in fact, so much so, I want to return to the same hairdresser. I bought a Groupon for this visit, to save money on what I was sure would be quality results, from the location and reputation, and I wasn't wrong! Better to spend a little more, with no regrets, and feel fabulous, than short change yourself, and still be unhappy! I had a world-class experienced artist, who delivered the goods!

    Went in for color and layers with Azriel and was super happy with how soft and full my hair turned out after! Also got a complimentary glass of wine with my service and they offered to order me food while I waited! My new favorite place as it is right in my neighborhood, salon staff was very helpful and efficient and know how to give you exactly what you want. Will definitely refer my friends!!!

    I purchased a Groupon because it had been several years since I've been to a salon and had damaged my hair with box color. I called them and went in for a consultation as I knew I would need extra services to fix the mess I had created. Consultation was fine, they ended up quoting me $500 on top of the $160 I had paid for the Groupon. This was to strip my hair of the damage and full highlights. Hair came out just OK. I understand it will take sometime to get it back to the way I want it. Basically the highlights are only on the crown of my head where the hair had grown out. I had to pay extra for more highlights as the groupon only covered a certain amount. The service that I got, isn't the main reason for my issue. My issue was when I go to pay the lady at the counter gets a calculator and starts calculating the full value of all the services I had (apparently the $500 was discounted) saying "we require 20% TIP on the full value of the services you received". Now I did read this on the groupon which I figured was fine seeing that they offered a discounted price. Thinking that I had to at least TIP 20% of the Groupon value, but this is not the case at all. i think the lady calculed the the services at full value was close to $800, so wanted a $160 TIP!!!! To grab a calculator so you can tell someone what what they HAVE to tip is disgusting and unprofessional. Needless to say I did not tip what was "demanded" of me and I'll never go back here. I don't understand this "policy" of theirs as TIPs are supposed to be at the discretion of the customer for a job done well. honestly if you require something you should make it apart of your prices up front. Super tacky and this TIP culture is out of hand! I included some pictures of my "$800 WORTH of services that they wanted me to tip (paid $500 to them direct plus $160 groupon)" which included stripping the dark color out and adding highlighs to get my hair back to blonde. The top of my head does have some very nice highlights, but as you can see theres basically no blonde on the bottom.🤷‍♀️ honestly tho, like I mentioned above my hair is OK the experience at checkout is what ruined it.

    The crew at Shimmer is top-notch! They are attentive professionals who take fabulous care of you. The spa therapists do a wonderful job with massages and facials that leave you completely relaxed. The nail technicians have great attention to detail and are wonderful to chat with. The hairstylists are patient and creative. And the makeup artists make you look beautiful! Whether you’re going for a full spa day package or any of the components, I wouldn’t go anywhere else!
