Excellent trip with Serenity Tours, nearly three hours with an hour on the Inner Farne island which is free to land on for National Trust members. I only had my phone camera but I was amazed how close we could actually get to the nesting birds; so an expensive super zoom camera wasn't really necessary. The National Trust staff on the island are very helpful and will tell you all about the different birds. I particularly loved the Puffins, they're so cute. You must stick to the board walks on the island, which not only makes the walking easy, but protects the birds from unwanted intrusion. Apart from Puffins, you can see Cormorants, Terns, Razorbills, Shags, Kittiwakes, Guillemots and of course Gulls. Also got to see Seals who are very curious popping their heads up in the sea to check you out. Whilst the day was overcast, it was still a brilliant trip, but go with warm clothing, the boat is open with no sheltered area; temperatures are cooler than on the land, particularly with the wind.

We booked on a Billy Shiels Sunset Cruise from Seahouses which took us around the Farne Islands. And so glad we did. The skipper was able to take us incredibly close to the Atlantic Seals that live there and up to the cliffs where the colonies of Shags and Gannets live. Beautiful sunset helped to make the views spectacular. If you want to see the puffins though - make sure you come at the right time of year.

Wow. This island is definitely worth a visit. As i visited during covid, numbers were limited to 32 people so this is much better than the usual crowds. Saw lots of different wildlife, and LOADS of puffins!

We went on Billy Sheil boat which was great, tickets were not expensive either. £20.00 each adult. You get 90 minutes on board going around the islands. The captain was very informative. I would definitely recommend it.

Loved seeing the birds and the seals on the boat trip. Just wish I hadn’t felt so sick on the boat 🤢. If you want to see puffins, it is best to take a tour that stops on the island.

Incredible place to visit, thousands of birds, including puffins! We even spotted some seals. We visited with Serenity Farne Islands Boats from Seahouses (sunset cruise).

Well worth a visit. We went by boat in June. We saw seals, loads of puffins and other sea birds.

Great evening boat trip around the Farne Islands while the birds were there during the summer. Particularly interested in the puffins. Travelled out around 4 miles from Seahouses over the 2 hour trip.

I LOVE visiting these islands. Each trip I see different wildlife and it is always a joy. My best visit was when I saw a big pod of dolphins swimming and playing round our boat! It was brilliant. The commentary on the boat is always very interesting too.

We went on the Billy Spiels tour and it was a fantastic day out. The boat captain was really friendly and knowledgeable, and went out of his way to show us as many species of birds as possible. Very nice national trust staff and facility. If you like wildlife, you won't be disappointed!
