Worse experience at reception as the lady who sits there is stubborn without any humanity, to describe she is a heartless person. The way she talks, her tone is not welcoming and no eye contact. She is not the right person for the job. People come to the hospital when they are already stressed and struggling with a disease but for her, I believe she feels relieved by giving such services to people and making them feel uncomfortable and hurt. This is my 3rd experience here with such services due to which I am forced to leave feedback as this is the most you can do as if you try to escalate internally you will end up disappointed as they tend to divert the issue towards aggressiveness which no one wants. It seems she know she has a pass to mistreat people under NHS badge.

Massive problem with the reception I received at spire Dunedin paid in advance to see a private GP for my daughter but still wanted my card number when I questioned it was told incase my daughter needed other treatment (but I would be informed before it was taken) don't believe that for one minute. Stereotype comes to mind. Was told I could not go in with my daughter as I was suppose to let the matron know beforehand, could of told me that when I booked the appointment had to listen via my phone to the entire consultation as she was so nervous, even though she told me a lady was there with her daughter Could go on for ever but they don't deserve the review time . If I could give 0 I would

Very efficient, smart private hospital. Parking can be a bit of a challenge but we managed the last space! Tea and coffee for those of us who have to wait for our partner's scan! Good WiFi too.

I saw a neurologist, Dr Flossman, who was marvellous and cannot be faulted. That being said, I was told that I would receive a call within two weeks to book an appointment for imaging services. After one month of waiting and four unavailing attempts to call the hospital myself, I have now given up. They do, however, have the capability of sending me a bill but not picking up the phone - just to add insult to injury! I appreciate, due to current circumstances, that the hospital may be busier than usual, although the obscene wait time merely to get an appointment booked is unacceptable. If you are paying for private medical health care, I would suggest that you do not waste your time or money and go to a different hospital.

I had surgery here and should have followed my gut and cancelled it! The communication and coordination has been so poor start to finish. The admin staff have let me down at every opportunity. The nurses were great but I’m not 100% sure how confident I feel with my consultants even. I didn’t seem to have 1 dedicated consultant so no one seemed to really know what was going on

Awful !!! Unprofessional! Horrible! I had 4 appointments here and never got results for one and/or any plan going forward to help me . I ended up using the NHS and within 6 months I was diagnosed and operated on. The person I saw was unprofessional , uncaring and didn’t take me seriously. I HAVE A GENETIC CONDITION THAT THEY FAILED TO DIAGNOSE. I can’t believe this place is aloud to continue to operate at this level of care. I felt like I didn’t fit their demographic as a young lad with tattoos from the get go and they failed to show any concern towards me at all. In one case I drove one hour to get there for a blood test at the time they gave me and there was no one even there to do it ! The specialist seemed smug and patronising without any real knowledge or understanding.I wouldn’t send a dog there.

Truly professional approach from kind, friendly and trustworthy staff members and doctor. I received swift action and prompt response for my problems and queries even above and beyond in expectation. From Reception to Surgeon, caring and patient-focused service is provided. It is very much appreciated.

I had a treatment done at this hospital. The doctor I saw was fantastic and explained to me all the procedure. On the day of the surgery the hospital staff was very attentive and made me feel safe. Particularly the nurses who were caring for me until I was discharged, they were very helpful and caring. Personally I didn’t like having to call to book appointments and didn’t find the people on the other side of the phone very helpful. But I would recommend this hospital.

The Spires in Reading should be listed as a tourist attraction, the staff are straight from paradise, especially the PA who personally escorted me to the staff dining room. I was given VIP treatment by a chef, I was invited to drink coffee in the nurses’ section of the world’s most hygienic staff facility, I rate Spires as Berkshire’s finest and friendlies hospital on earth Frank Smith I’m not a chauffeur really

My partner had wisdom tooth extraction surgery here this morning. Everyone was so kind and I just felt like he was in the best hands. Charlie & Janet were especially great, thank you! Car park was quite big, and we had no trouble getting a space on a Saturday morning.

I recently had laparoscopic inguinal hernia surgery undertaken by the excellent Dominic Coull at the Spire Dunedin hospital in Reading. I am nervous patient and was obviously very worried, but I needn’t have been; the staff were extremely understanding and supportive in a caring and professional manner that puts you at ease………you can feel that you are in safe hands. I can’t praise or recommend highly enough the staff and treatment that I received at every stage.

How can this be a private hospital? I had the worst consultation ever, the surgeon didn't take me seriously kept cutting me off, didn't listen to my critical issue which needs immediate action/surgery, they don't even have the facilities to do endoscopy tests and referred me to the Royal Berkshire Hospital, what's the point of referring me to the RBH if the entire purpose was to skip the NHS waiting times, on top of that you pay a fortune, what a joke.

I had my surgery today, even thought I have arrived one hour early, everyone was very accommodating. All staff that assisted me today were just amazing but special thanks to lovely and so polite nurse Charlie Millar who taken exceptional care of me today. The sandwich was fab too 😊 Thanks

Be very aware that breast surgery is life changing and not in a good way when it goes wrong. Also note that you have no recourse to compensation when it goes wrong and you have breasts that you can't bear to look at or show your parther. Go elsewhere if you want breast surgery is my advice.

I have had less stress going on the NHS. Twice this place has messed up. 1. I turn up for an appointment and I’m told all radiologists have gone home (4pm on Friday!). 2. Went for a blood test. Get a call back a week or so later saying they forgot to do one of the tests. Considering I’m needle phobic, I decided to go elsewhere. Appalling service, especially for a PRIVATE hospital.

Good availability of appointments and doctors are very good however beware, they take your credit card details for a reason. Unexpected and unexplained charges billed afterwards.

I experienced a good patient journey, met lovely staff who introduced themselves before doing anything and the service was efficient. I will be coming back for the next phase of my treatment. If I could, I would rate 4.5 stars because I felt could have been kept up to date on what was the next step a little better / more frequently, but generally great. The private room I had was great and food was good too. Nice to have this facility in our local area.

I contacted spire almost a year ago to get a CT and consultant appointment for my husband yet still no reply (he’s since been diagnosed with incurable cancer as we gave up and went elsewhere). I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and contact them to make an appointment with the “one stop” skin tag removal for myself, yet have only had contact from the wrong department. I’m not entirely sure why it’s so bad? Lack of staff maybe?

Beware they take your card details at the door, went to a surgeon and received a £295 bill for a 5 minute chat, then to my suprise I get hit with an £800 bill from the hospital for a procedure I wasn't even aware had taken place during a routine examination. First and last time I will ever use this cash cow.

A lot of the staff are grumpy and rude. The receptionist is always confrontational and blunt, the opposite of what your front of house to be.

My partner has been seeing doctors at Spire for couple of months now. Firstly, the doctors are slow at providing appointments and also not very clear about the diagnosis, specially with chronic illness stating it as long covid without making effort to test further. Prescriptions are not provided on a timely manner, in our case, medicine was suggested on the 8th of December and now it’s the 22nd and we still do not have the prescription on hand to buy the medicine. Lastly, the hospital charged directly to the patient despite having private insurance and mentioning this 1000 times during the visit. This was later revised after calling at rhe hospital but an additional hassle on top of work and long term illness. Atleast effort to act timely by the doctors and staffs will be helpful such as with timely dispatch of prescription and contacting insurance provider for costs.

For anyone who is going for private appointments!! So unprofessional, both reception didn’t had any clue of my appointment or where should i go even though everything was on my booking note! 2nd my appointment was at 11:00 i got appointed at 11:40. 3rd all my testing samples been left on a work desk just like that and then the nurse carried on with someone else doing there job. I don’t think so i ll get the right results!! From what I’ve seen and my experience completely unprofessional!! Please be mindful where you spend your money!!

Faultless. My 4yo has never been to see a specialist before and is quite a sensitive little chap anyway, so was a bit nervous. Everyone was extremely kind and friendly, the Dr took great interest in the pictures he’d drawn while waiting. When it came to his first blood test, he was given ‘magic cream’ for 45 minutes and everything was done to make sure he had a great experience. His arm was tucked underneath mine so he couldn’t see anything and the blood was taken while we read a story. He didn’t even flinch and was delighted with the sticker he got. He will never be frightened of a blood test now and that’s thanks to the wonderful staff at Spire Dunedin. Thank you!

If you are considering this hospital for oncology please think again! The service I received nearly cost me my life. Lack of attention to detail is an understatement.

A terrible place, they treat you terribly and they don't care about the patient's health. If it were up to me, I would sue the hospital because it is not fair how they treat us patients.

I think this is a great organisation, I have attended many times in the past few years for appointments, treatments, x-rays and surgery. Whilst there may be an odd hiccup by and large they are brilliant.

Have called five times today to get consultant, not a single person who answered the phone knows what they doing or can offer the help to put me through the right department. This turned out to be a massive understatement of the incompetent!

I had a total knee replacement at Dunedin last week, and the care & service I received was professional & personal, from the time I arrived at reception (a special mention to Marion Elmore, who went over & above to make the whole experience go smoothly) to my discharge. Everyone I had contact with were happy, helpful and kept me informed of all that was going to happen during my stay. The food was excellent, and was always served with a smile! It’s 5 stars all round from me.👍🏻
