A reminder of the simpler times in NYC. I'm not sure if $3 even covers the electricity and staff that is used to run the carousel. Truly a great deal if you really think about it. I personally don't mind the longer downtime between loads. It gives the parents more time to take photos of their kids on the horses before things get blurry when the carousel starts moving.

It's a fun place to bring your kids, but also a bizarre work of art. The horses are these weird hyper masculine sculptures that really are striking, and then there's the calliope and the circus part of it. It's a really strange blend. The ride is decently long and comfortable. It's also clean as a whistle.

Employees don't want to be there. Seems that they hate their job and that is translated in the service. The Carousel is really nice. But the hole experience is not good for the people working on it. So: go. But know that you'll be treated bad and supporting that is the only way to acces to the Carousel.

This was such a fun addition to our central park day! Definitely a fun ride to make any adult feel like a kid again! The horses have that vintage wore vibe as it was made in 1908. The cost is $3.50 per person regardless of age however it was a special day and why worry about that when you can relive your childhood while making new memories with the kids?! Opens at 10 am and closes at dusk. It's a shirt 10-12min walk from the lowered Central Park entrances.

Great place for kids in DT NY, Avoid on a hot summer day as there is zero shade, or avoid early afternoon hours

They just reopened. They charge for the adult standing to accompany children less than five. Not typical compared with other carousel in NYC

This carousel was a surprise I had no idea it was in the park my kids really enjoyed it... perfect on a not so cold day for the kids. There is a cost to go on the ride but i cant remember exactly how much I paid but it wasn't expensive... I took the entrance at Columbus circle and ended up at the carousel after a little walk...

Adults have to pay just to stand with younger children, never encountered this with any of the other NYC carousels.

Not beautiful compare to carousel in Brooklyn, but it’s a gift to New York children in 1951.
