Beware that geese make this area their home and the beach area and grass are covered in poo. The beach is fairly rocky so if you have kids, water shoes are a good idea. Bring folding chairs to sit on because the area was littered with poo. It has nice bathrooms. There is a changing area in the ladies bathroom but without any privacy or drapes. The only shower is an outdoor shower near the bathroom building. The playground is decent for when kids need a distraction from the water. There are tables and seating. There are some trees that offer a little shade but the afternoon sun makes it really hot. I would suggest a beach umbrella for when coming here to get a little shade.

A well kept park area with a good 2-lane boat ramp (a concrete launch, straddled by two shorter docks). A reasonable amount of car/trailer parking but will fill to capacity on summer weekends.

The beach is rather large now due to the low water levels. It was nice when we went there because it wasn't too busy. But you definitely had to walk in pretty far to get to the water which had many tide pools created from the waves. The bathrooms were open so the kids could go and wash up. Plus they had the standalone shower that is outside to wash feet. The parking lot is very large and always has a place to park. This is really nice because the boat landing is in a different section so you don't have big vehicles to navigate around. The playground is quite fun and the kids seem to like that. We were able to bring inflatable kayaks but we did not get to launch them because it was too windy. We happened to see somebody using an inflatable windsurf board which was kind of cool! Anyway, I highly recommend the park for a family gathering.

Nice kayaking during off peak hours. Otherwise lots of boats and jet skis. Big beach. Lots of milfoil so make sure you pick a clear spot to jump off your pontoon so you don't get tangled in it.

Small playground and beach next to boat launch. A nice spot. Geese are there a lot - watch the grass when walking! The bathrooms flush and were decently clean. Playground feels small for how many people go to this beach.

On the rare occasion that we decide to take the boat to WBL, this is typically the launch we use. I hear there are other paid launches in the area that are much better, but have not been to any others besides here. The launch itself is decent. It can be a little problematic when the water levels are low for a number of reasons. There are two docks for launching two boats at once (though some people don't understand that...). The downside of using this launch is you run into a lot of newbies to boating or don't understand launching etiquette or one person is doing everything and is blocking the ramp with their boat not allowing others to launch. Lots of shinnanigans.

My first time to WBL Park was during the J4 firework @ 10 pm! (Went 4 hrs early for good parking) Parking lot is huge but filled up quickly, playground & mini beach is perfect for kids. Lots of people during J4 but not toooo crowded. The park itself is medium big. Will come again on a normal day to enjoy my summer!

Nice place for a picnic and has a decent boat launch.

Great beach with tons of easy access parking. We frequently kayak on the lake and this is always our put-in point. It is kind of annoying that there's just a little strip of waterfront where paddle boards and kayaks are allowed to enter.

FUN! FUN! FUN! ...just didn't really like sand part where it can get everywhere on you. Like it that the playground itself is not sandπŸ‘ Many people bring their boats there for some fun in the sun.

Great Park for kids to play. No shade for BBQ’ing. Bring your own tent for shade. Beach has Geese poop all over, including 25-30% of the grass area before you reach the beach. Very unsanitary beach. Needs to be cleaned by the city for a healthier place for family and children. Boat launch is packed but enough room. Come early for boat launch parking space. Over-flow parking is about 200 yards away. :/

The beach is small, but the water is clean for a metro area lake and shallow. No seaweed and lots of parking. Large grassy area to right of the beach and a playground near the water too. Bathrooms weren't great, but better then port a potties!

It's a very pleasant place to spend a few hours. Our granddaughter, her mom, my husband and I played in the sand, and the water as well as the playground. One woman loudly decried the dog s**t all over. She calmed down a bit when I explained it was from wild geese.

Good place but problems with parking (with a trailer). In addition you can find there those smart folks who prefers to stop at the loading line, right after they get off the water, for prepare their vessel for towing. Sometimes they do that by groups lol Another kind is - those who blocked road because they prefer to do that instead of to stay at different spot :) who cares about other people around?? I am the king and everyone must wait! Getting really crowded when hot :)

Pretty mid lake, there's definitely better lakes than this one. Not many waves to have fun with and the beach is small. Not many fishes either.

I like whitebear lake and want to be fair. The 2 star rating is for this very specific point of the lake. The park itself is nice but the goose poops every 2 feet is overwhelmed. You'll find yourself 100 % focus on navigating your way around the poops and not looking at the big beautiful lake. The beach is filled with poops, and water is with plants. The park needs a very good clean up and may be some technology that age check the goose or something. Or at least potty train them lol πŸ˜† All right guys, thanks for reading my 2 cents (My first 2 rating ever) Have a good day.

Nice beach with a good amount of parking. Restrooms are clean and functional, and there's a nice playground. Can get on the Mark Sather Trail around White Bear Lake for biking/running. Boat launch ramp with truck/trailer specific parking and turnaround.

When this was built they tore out all the trees. Lack of shade for those hot days can really be a bummer. Beach itself is well designed and has a dated but well built playground. Currently they are asking for locals to input ideas on how to improve this park!

Kids had a great time at the park while we were preparing the boat. 0 wait at the dock which was nice. Lake was clean and beautiful.

Beautiful family place . Close parking available. Boat ramps available

  • 5/5 Zack B. 3 years ago on Google
The boat launch is decent and has lanes for two boats to go in at once. The parking is usually full however and you have to drive around for quick a while to find a spot.

A terrific park located on the Lake! It is always busy with people, especially around the summer time. The restrooms and the park area are relatively clean. Due to flooding the lake is higher then usual this June but with the beautiful weather an outdoor fun to have, this location is great for family, barbecues and swimming! If one has a boat or wakeboard, even pattle board! All are welcome.

Not a bad spot to hang out in the summer time. Would have 4 stars if Ramsey County would allow consumption of low ABV beverages ie. beer.

Great park. Beautiful three-mile walking trail between here and Kowalski's. There are a few restaurants with outdoor seating on that end of the trail.

This is a great place to take kids to swim. There is a large grassy area with plenty of room for families to social distance while watching their kids swim. There is a concrete wall at the edge of the water with a small step down into nice soft sand and the water remains shallow for at least 50 yards. The water is clear and the swim area is roped off to keep boaters at a safe distance. Every time we’ve been there there has also been people with various kayaks or sail surfing that seem to be available to try or rent.

I love this lake, its very nice and large for boating. Not a fan of the very limited boat trailer parking though. Its a very crowded boat launch on weekends. The last time we went there was also only one loading dock. Still enough room for launching 2 boats at once, just one loading dock though. We have much more success and it's less crowded at the Big Marine Park Reserve nearby in Hugo.

My review is for the LAKE itself as of July 2020. WBL is a very clear water lake, zebra mussels and shore owners taking out the weeds, making it very difficult to fish. On the weekends, there are people speeding around the entire day, along with winds, making the waves big and coming from all directions. The ramp parking will be full by 10am so if you plan on coming out, plan on waiting. A lot of people are weekenders with their boat and have no experience backing them into the lake so that takes time too. There is two ramps but no drop off station so you have a lot of people using the dock to sit and wait with their boat as their dads park the trailer. So waiting to get into the ramp from the lake is another story. The ramp themselves are covered with sand and lopsided. There is only one DOCK this year so that makes it even more difficult for most. The ramps are crooked due to the sand piles so this makes it more difficult for people to get their boats in line with the trailer. Nice lake but very crowded on the weekends and in my opinion, a lake to skip if you plan on trying to fish on a weekend. The park is nice for children. Lots of area for them to run around. The beach is clean and shallow. There are toilets with plumbing. There is special car parking away from the trailer parking. Cars parked in the trailer area will get ticketed and towed and vice versa. 1 stars for being wayyyy to crowded and chaos on the weekends. Very poor boat ramps this season with lack of a dock on one side.
