Everyone
is
great
when
they're
taking
your
money
but
that's
where
it
ends.
Lynn
checked
me
in
and
was
very
personable.
She
said
she
gave
me
a
"nicer"
room
because
I
was
pregnant.
We
live
in
the
area
and
needed
an
affordable
place
to
stay
while
awaiting
keys
for
our
new
apartment,
which
were
delayed
over
a
busy
weekend
full
of
events
in
the
area
that
made
room
availability
in
the
city
scarce.
The
room
was
musty
and
the
carpet
so
dirty
that
it
turned
my
feet
black
when
I
walked
across
the
room
barefoot.
The
bedding
was
itchy
and
the
towels
worn
thin.
There
was
mildew
all
over
the
tub
and
cigarette
burns
everywhere
in
the
bathroom
and
on
the
entire
carpet.
In
the
first
night,
my
husband
killed
three
bugs
that
looked
like
tiny
cockroaches.
Google
reviews
for
the
property
were
OK
but
after
he
did
further
research
online
we
found
Yellow
Pages
reviews
complaining
about
bed
bugs.
After
finding
that
information,
I
called
the
front
desk
and
talked
to
Linda
who
insisted
there
was
no
such
problem,
and
that
she
lives
on
the
premises.
She
said
the
reviews
were
actually
lies,
left
by
disgruntled
guests
who'd
been
asked
to
leave
prematurely
for
causing
problems.
The
following
day
my
husband
woke
up
with
bites
on
his
arm,
abdomen
and
foot,
and
killed
another
bug.
I
went
to
the
front
desk
where
Lynn
was
working
to
alert
her
about
the
problem.
She
said
that
I
could
leave
if
we
weren't
happy,
denied
any
infestation
and
said
she
wouldn't
provide
a
refund,
and
that
I
would
have
to
talk
to
the
owner
Mr.
Patel
to
try
to
get
one.
When
I
expressed
my
disappointment
with
her
deceiving
me
the
previous
day,
she
told
me
to
"Get
the
f**k
out!"
and
"F**k
off!"
I
promptly
headed
to
Drug
Mart
next
door
to
buy
trash
bags
to
place
our
belongings
into,
in
an
attempt
to
avoid
taking
bed
bugs
off
the
property
and
into
our
new
home.
Unfortunately,
we
used
our
vehicle
a
handful
of
times
during
our
30-hour
stay
while
in
clothing
we
had
been
in
the
bed
wearing,
and
won't
know
for
several
weeks
if
we
cross-contaminated
our
car
due
to
the
incubation
period
that
it
takes
for
a
bed
bug
to
mature
from
larvae.
So
far,
we
spent
more
than
$30
confining
and
laundering
our
belongings
that
were
in
the
room.
We'll
need
to
do
the
same
thing
with
all
the
items
that
were
in
the
car
before
they
can
be
moved
into
our
new
apartment,
and
possibly
have
the
car
treated
by
a
pest
control
company.
What
we
saved
in
room
rates
is
costing
us
much
more,
both
in
money
spent
to
eradicate
the
pest
problem
that
the
management
concealed
from
us,
as
well
as
all
the
emotional
distress
we
were
put
through
during
this
ordeal.
Don't
let
the
location
fool
you.
It
may
be
adjacent
to
Nuevo
Acapulco
Mexican
restaurant
and
Fat
Head's
Brewery
in
a
nice
suburban
area
but
this
place
is
by
far
the
dingiest
place
I've
ever
stayed
with
the
most
negligent
owners
imaginable.
