The Rocky River Reservation is an excellent place to visit! You can stop at the many different parking areas to get out and view the river or falls. We got to see otters, deer, and groundhogs while we drove through the long Reservation. The park overall was quiet, felt safe and had plenty of restrooms along the route. This park is excellent and I would highly recommend going there!

Phenomenal park with a nice nature center as well as stairs up to an observation area (see photos). You can also take a more leisurely stroll along a gentle curving path to get up to the observation area. It's gentle enough that we made it with a stroller without an issue. Great area to take your dog for an outdoor jaunt - leashed, of course. Beautiful sights and a great place to feel in touch with nature while in close proximity to the city.

Tons of hiking, miles of trails (of all types), and great overlook views. The Fort Hill steps are popular and photographed often, and always worth a first visit.

Great natural beauty! One can do plenty of activities like kayaking, jogging, running, biking, fishing etc. The Nature Center at the Rocky River Reservation is worth a visit. The Nature Center offers wildlife exhibits, a river observation deck & a bird-feeding station. The deck offers spectacular views of a 360 million year old shale cliff from the deck overhanging the river.

A decent amount to do here. The trails are nicely kept. They have an outdoor stage. Beaver marsh. Bridges. Stone stairs. The large staircase to overlook the river. We always see lots of wildlife here. Sunsets can be good too.

Beautiful trails and well maintained area! I enjoyed my time here strolling with family. The visitors center is both informative and gave me an appreciation of all of the wild life surrounding us. Also, the amount of trails at this reservations was unbelievable! You can get lost here for hours! Lots of parking available as well as washroom facilities throughout the reservation for your convenience. Ill continue to come here every time I visit cleavland

Beautiful river. I just moved from PA, and the metro parks are amazing. I had a really good time fishing in different parts of the Rocky River. I see myself frequenting here. If you see me, feel free to say hello.

Wonderful piece of preserved nature along with great recreational facilities from a marina just upstream of Lake Erie, to 3 golf courses, the horse stables, and an infinate variety of small and large picnic areas connected by multi use trails.

Easily one of the best Metroparks/parks in the NE Ohio region, and a huge asset to Greater Cleveland. Always well-maintained trails, clear signage, and safe. One of the best free nature centers I've been to. I will always come to this parking while in the Cleveland area.

Sure, there are endless trails up and down hills, through thick woods where it is cool even on a steamy summer day, along ponds where the frogs serenade and the herons watch majestically, by the edge of cliffs where the vista stretches as far as the eye can see - you can find it all at Rocky River Reservation! But you can find the hidden treasures too: a spray of wild roses, a little frog waiting to cross the path, a cluster of shimmering ferns. Go find the treasures. They are there to be discovered!

We love this park! It’s so beautiful and also a great place for a nice walk and exercise! I love to bring my dog and walk up the stairs! We do it several times and it’s great cardio for me and him! He always come home so tired but so happy! Also in summer, you can take your pet to the nearby lake so they can in inside the water and chill out after a long walk!

We visited the nature center a d surrounding paths... Absolutely lovely nature center and walking trails. All very easy to navigate with children (and dogs). Many of the paths could be walked with a stroller, but a backpack carrier is easier, especially if you want to go up the steps. The nature center is a hit with the kids (16m and 3yrs), they could have spent the entire morning happily playing inside the nature center.

So pretty and well maintained. Lots of small loops so it's easy to hike a lot without getting lost. Many plants and local wildlife are labeled or documented throughout the trail which is nice. Trails are nicely marked. Lots of stairs but it's early to create routes without them. Most of it was paved.

Miles of smooth trails with a few hills, winding along the river. Tons of nice little pull-offs and picnic areas along the way so it rarely feels too crowded

Great place to drop a boat. Great parking. Would appreciate picnic tables or a park . Not thrilled about duck poop on the grass, made it challenging to find a place to sit on the blanket.

Beautiful walk with so many different trails. Great place to bike, walk the dog, etc. There are areas where you can fish in the River. Highly suggest to enjoy during the fall when all the leaves are changing.

Beautiful trails, one of my new favorites. It was a bit muddy at times but that's expected. Plenty of low and high elevation spots to see the river and trees.

Love this reservation, especially during fall. The nature center is cute and kids will enjoy the place.

Really great paths located behind the nature center with even better views of our valley. I like to visit for river fun and trash pick-up walks too!

  • 5/5 CC A. 7 months ago on Google
It’s very nice but way to many people every time I go. It’s just not relaxing. If you don’t mind 400 kids and groups of people walking with you then this is the place. It’s clean. Beautiful. Paths with a lot of steps for a great workout and there are easier paths for those who don’t want steps. There is a cute nature center . If you want a quiet peaceful hike without 5 million people then don’t go here ! I heard there are bathrooms. I’m not sure where because I didn’t see any

Fun location to learn about the wildlife. And local plants and horticulture. Some signs around the trails show history about structures and information on nature. There are a lot of stairs. Pretty pond also

Part of the exceptional Cleveland metroparks. Great trails for running along the river. Start from Berea Falls and go 3 miles out across 3 photogenic pedestrian bridges and then back to get your 6 miles of beautiful forests in.

This is an awesome park! I didn't expect you like it as much as I did but there's so much to see and explore. You can go there as a solo explorer, a couple on a date, or as a family. Remember to carry a bottle of water and to soak in nature whenever you can.

Beautiful park with lots to do. The Rocky River runs through the park, with several trails to walk or ride by horse (there is a stable; unsure if it is only for boarders or if there are any public options). There are also various fields and picnic areas, and a golf course (park is free to access, but golf course requires payment). There are several free parking lots. I went on a beautiful clear weather Saturday in July, and even then it was not crowded at all, so I would imagine it tends to be not too busy here.

Rocky river is probably one of the best maintained Cleveland metroparks and offers fantastic trails, bike paths and amazing multi species fishing opportunities. It is also a treasure trove for nature observers with a diverse spread of flora and fauna. I have been visiting the metropark weekly for 7 years and I truly find it amazing every time I go...

Great hiking trails and the staff in the nature center is super friendly! It's a nice place to visit with kids, dogs, or just yourself! There is a lot of inspiration and educational things to see along the trails and in the nature center.

Peaceful drive through Metro Parks Rocky River Reservation. Nature Center visit recently with my five year old great granddaughter was an experience we both enjoyed. Now with fall weather conditions the changing colors of the trees adds another element to enjoy.

One of the best run Nature Systems in the Entire Metro Park System. Loved to look at staged sets with animals and some of the old maps of the area built into a lesson on the areas past history. Had the Greatest Father ever take me as a child over 45 year ago..Then my sons Nick and Justin both taken numerous times by grandparents are now taking their families to the exact same place that our families love for Nature grew under the leadership and lessons to love all living creatures under our parents all those years ago has now landed on its 4th Generation of Krehels in which it all began by the Greatest Father of All time over 45 years ago. Great Father Nick. and Justin are much like their Grandfather's....Well grounded.

First time to Rocky River Reservation in quite awhile and definitely first time during the Winter. Enjoyed the trails and plenty of opportunities for all the photographers out there for great photos.
