Most pathetic sandwiches I've ever seen. Pepperoni sub is a joke. Trash pepperoni thrown on a roll with some sauce on the side. Cheese in the pic is our own to try and make it edible. Chicken Parm sub is dry and tiny for the price. Put the sauce from the pepperoni sub on it to add some moisture. Two bites taken out of meatball sub then tossed. Most disgusting meatballs either of us have ever tasted. I've eaten here a few times over the last few years and has gotten worse each time. Never again. I don't see them lasting much longer and should not even sell sandwiches.

So I will preface my one-star rating by saying that at one point, I loved this place and used to come here with my mom all the time. My last experience was with my wife, her first time going there, and her last time going there. We got childrens cups for our drinks because ? I'm 6'2' 180 lbs, I just want a normal cup of coke that I don't empty in two sips and have to keep asking for refills that don't come because they're "so busy". I ordered Lasagna and my wife ordered, I don't remember honestly, but I know she thought it tasted terrible. My lasagna? I ate about a quarter of it. They had it in a bowl shaped receptacle that looked like they cooked the lasagna in it because it was literally burned to the bottom of the thing and half of it tasted like it was. It was literally so bad that when we get coupons for their restaurant in Valpak's we joke that it's still not worth it.

Not sure what has happened since winning 2018 best of the west but very disappointed. House salad came in this tiny cup with the cheese in a seperate plastic bag. I dont understand why it would not come in a big container to eat out of. Pizza, breadsticks, mozzarella sticks taste like they were frozen. Just couldnt believe how nasty the pizza was with crust too hard to bite and the size was soooooo small

Short staffing and limited menu sign should have been a clue about the dinner ahead. Had to wait about 15 minutes for a table in a very small cramped dive in diner. Mozz sticks were frozen. I had better frozen pizza. If my boys says your meatballs are horrible you can put $$ on it. My wife broccoli chick Alfredo was tasteless and I'm pretty sure the chicken is not suppose to be breaded. The waiter will throw straws at your table and forget to bring your bread. Also if you are a table of color even tables seated 20 minutes after you will have their food before you. The old waitress will roll her eyes at you as she walks away from assisting your waiter. Food over priced by far. Thank God Chick fillet next door

Live to go to Frankie's for dinner, they give you hot bread and with dinner. They got slammed with customers all at once but nobody was neglected, that I could see. My husband had chicken alfredo and I had chicken parmesan. The food is always good, and the helpings are big my husband and I took some home.

I’ve been wanting to try Frankie’s for a while now and I’m so glad to say I finally have. Nancy was a hoot and a half, she shines! She made our dinner so entertaining. The food was delicious with lovely presentation. Overall a really great environment. You can tell that everyone here is doing their best despite (as i’ve read in reviews) mentions of the restaurant being understaffed.

Went to Frankie's for the first time with a group for a family member's birthday. Unfortunately many of the items on the menu were not available due to a lack of staffing, which is not the fault of the restaurant. The food was very good, I had the veal parmesan. It was very good and the pasta was well done also. I met the owner briefly, what a welcoming guy! I will definitely be back to try some more of their dishes.

The Pepperoni Pizza was very good. I haven't had it in a while. I usually get the spaghetti and meatballs, But it is temporally not available due to staff shortages. (I work in a restaurant myself I know what your going through.) Keep up the good work.

Hands down some of the best pizza we have ever had - we go out of our way to get the pizza!! The pasta is fresh, the salads are great, and the desserts are delicious (try the lava cake!). The food is always excellent and reasonably priced. The service can be slow when they are very busy - but every restaurant is experiencing this due to staffing shortages. Aside from that - the staff is attentive, friendly and some have been around for quite a while! Atmosphere - could use some updating. There haven't been any changes to the interior in all the years we have been going. You can see holiday decorations tossed in a back room - cluttered and disorganized. But the restaurant itself is quite clean with a nice waiting area. Of course we'll go back!!

Heard many good things. Tried it for the first time - carryout. First choice was 86'd, second choice not available due to limited menu. I get the limited menu but don't post the full menu and waste everyone's time including the person taking my order. Ordered the Sampler - they clearly hadn't changed their oil in a good while. Cavatelli was sticky/mushy, sauce - not so good but personal preferences. Packed potato chips with the sandwich so they were soggy. Sorely disappointed. Will not be returning.

Hd a Groupon that was 12 dollars off 30. Order some specials of the day and a Pizza for half price. Once they saw the Groupon, they deducted the discounts. Half of Pizza was now full price and more. A $53 bill with 30 dolar groupon should have been $23. After they got done subtracting discounts, I ended up paying $36. That's $17 off my original bill. I paid $18 for the Groupon. Poor way to honor a discount.

Came here on a Groupon. So glad that we did. Food was great! Dinners came with soup or salad & bread at the table. Prices were not crazy either. Definitely give this old-school italian restaurant a try! Thank you & Good Luck!

The entree was amazing! I ate the Italian sausage with angel hair pasta with sauteed onions and green and red peppers. The salad was less desirable because it was a plate of lettuce with one slice of a cucumber, a small grape, tomato, and a few slices of onion.

Have tried to support this restaurant during pandemic, as we prefer to go to local places vs. chain restaurants. However, last night we ordered takeout, the Veal Tosca which the two of us had planned on sharing. Price has increased a bit, to be expected, but when arrived, we were shocked at the small portion. Two small pieces of breaded veal, probably less than 3 ounces, and a laughably small side of fettuccini. We didn't get our salad (but at least they remembered to pack the dressing!). Don't get me wrong, the food was good, as per usual, but truly disappointed in how the portions have shrunk, for a dinner to be the size of a lunch portion for that price ($23.95), well, can't justify that any longer. So we called. First, to let them know yeah you forgot the salad, no we don't want you to bring us one it's late for that now. But, what happened to the portion sizes you used to provide? Guy who answered the phone admitted this dish used to have 6 pieces of veal, but they've reduced it to two, (all the while increasing the price - that's not a good way to go, guys). And the pasta? For an Italian place to skimp on one of the cheapest things to make is a bit of a joke, sadly. No real care or concern, I'm sure they hear this all the time, didn't offer to even attempt to make it right aside from having a salad dropped off to us, or make us want to come back. Said he would tell Frankie. Don't think Frankie cares much anymore. How long will it take for this place to go under?

Like everywhere else experiencing staffing issues, they are too, but they are managing it well by not seating the whole restaurant, and only seating what they can handle at a time. This does mean having to wait a little longer for a table, but they aren't sacrificing quality for quantity. (At least, this was our experience tonight) I can respect that. Food was good. I liked the atmosphere.

My dad has been going here practically his whole life. Frankie's opened the year he was born. He used to also live down the street from the owner in North Olmsted. Great pizza, the best I have ever had.

Lovely place! Went in with a family of five and were quickly seated. The servers were beyond friendly and helpful, always quick to assist us. The wait for the food was only about 15-20 minutes, and it was well worth the wait. The food was absolutely delicious! We were absolutely stuffed, and absolutely satisfied. The service was amazing, the food was great, the prices were good, and we'll definitely be coming back again!

Good Italian food in a restaurant that's been around for a long time. It does feel like the dishes are based on recipes that grandmothers brought with them from Italy more than a century ago, except they're not. The food is good, and the portions are big, but it feels like the dishes are prepared with modern necessities and limitations in mind. Prices are high, and service is professional but a bit slow. This used to be a far superior establishment before the pandemic.

Food was the usual awesome. Our waitress was great and worked hard because no one else helped. We waited over 5 minutes to sit down with many open tables. Normally, that's expected. I get it. Many places don't have enough waiters to handle every table. But this time, I was greatly annoyed because the young man who told us it would be just a minute while "they" wiped off a table, stood there talking to the other hostess and didn't lift a finger to do it himself (or herself). After several minutes, I even said, "If no one knows how to wipe off a table, I can do it." They just smiled and said it will just be a minute.. they were waiting for the waitress who was serving several tables to do it. I'm not exaggerating. I could hear their conversations. Although the two of them were very polite, they should've helped their fellow employees! Anyhow, other than that, the food was as good as it has always been. We had pizza, soup, and their famous salad. All were delicious.

We love their food but the stupidity about the way they handle things when the kitchen is backed up is absurd. They leave us sitting out in the lobby area where it is freezing. They have plenty of servers so they could seat us and bring us a beverage but no we sit and freeze. I am so disappointed. Bad way to handle a bad situation.

WOW WTH happened to this place? And what's up with their food? Hubby had the Fettuccine alfredo. It looked so dry. NO sauce guys? He said it was horrible. We went here for years, loved their deluxe pizza, the best around! NOT anymore. So disappointed. It was just "okay". I actually enjoyed Costco's frozen pizza better. To make matters worse our Waitress was obviously burned out. Not good at all. Older short lady, doesn't have the personality for customer servce. And the food took forever. 20-30 minutes for salad??? Owner needs to take a step back, regroup and go back to basics. GOOD FOOD atleast... I can handle bad service then, but not both. Won't be in any hurry to go back there. Thank goodness there's Ohio city Pizza.

We waited for over a hour to get seated. I got the Italian wedding soup. It was so bad. Meatballs were hockey pucks. We were really disappointed.

Frankie's has been a favorite of mine for years. Excellent house salad, excellent meatball and mushroom pizza, and while I miss its Rocky River location, this has been a fine replacement

  • 1/5 Matthew M. 1 year ago on Google
I remember how good it was years ago….. had to wait forever in the cold lobby and listen to your cooks talk with a customer getting takeout forever (Instead of working. Over 20 mins of banal conversation). I don’t see why we couldn’t be seated with a few waters and had to be in the cold lobby….. it wasn’t very busy. I get being short staffed, but there were plenty of open tables. We went to Nino’s and we were seated and served immediately. This place needs to step up or close. Your days are numbered in this kind of economy. Go to Nino’s for good Italian!

I order about 2 times a month using door dash. Everytime my order is accurate, fresh and ontime. My only issue has been sometimes they take items off the menu on doordash. (Spaghetti). That is my usual and it makes me turn to another restaurant. Please keep doing a great job

This was my first time visiting this establishment and the service, was simply amazing .... and I enjoyed the food. It's small and cozy and I must say, I enjoyed it. (My Mr. loves this place)

I always liked Frankies, but recently I had A problem with a takeout order. Someone named Rich, who I believe is a manager, went over and above the call of duty and straightened it all out for me. He was wonderful. I love Frankies even more now!

I have been going to Frankie's for over 30 years and it never disappoints! They have the best pizza I've ever had anywhere. I generally don't like tomato sauce that much, but Frankie's is great! Their house salads also are amazing! And they have half price pizza night. We always go and get one pizza each because we love it so much we want lots of leftovers too!

This was the worst place we have been in awhile. From the young lady telling us it would only be few mins, then waiting 35 minutes that wasn’t even the worst. Our orders were placed and it took 45 minutes to receive our food. Unfortunately I did they did only have two servers one for each side but come on. If you can’t handle a dining room and focus on take out then you need to close your dining room. Then the lady at the front can’t cash out gotta have someone else. This was horrible and it was just a Wednesday. A freakin Wednesday I’d never come on a weekend.

My family and I have dined here my whole life. Even after we moved 40 mins away Frankies was still a staple in our lives. A lot of my GREAT memories of family lunches and dinners are at Frankies. Highly recommend, I have never had a bad dish or pizza. Plus the service is amazing.

Wasn't impressed at all! The first time going here and will be my LAST!! The guy who seated us was rude...didn't seem friendly at all. The salad was bagged salad with one piece of cucumber and one cherry tomato served on a plate! No option of alcoholic drinks... Not to mention the bread was brought out AFTER our meal was served! I'll stick to going to Little Italy where everything is FRESH including the Salads!!!!!

  • 1/5 Angelo L. 2 years ago on Google
Go to Frankies often food and service always great. Went today and experienced a very rude and obnoxious hostess. While being seated we asked to move to a less crowded area because of the virus. She became belligerent and threw the menus at the table and shouted, " why don't you be the hostess ". Very unprofessional .
