New policy states that the cardholder must be present since Covid began. They didn’t check my card when I arrived, which belongs to my partner, but upon trying to check out with a full cart of groceries, the extremely rude checkout lady manager on duty flat out refused to let me check out even with my partner in question in the phone. They even tried to confiscate the card, which is ridiculous. Again, no problem getting in, only when trying to checkout. Never had a problem like this ever before - I drove 30 minutes to do my shopping only to be turned away. Unacceptable. We’ll be canceling our membership. if there’s any time to NOT have a policy like this, it’s in times like these. Shame!

Always a miserable shopping experience at Costco, however I like some of the items that they carry. Store hours are very limited and inconvenient; they don’t open til 10 AM and close at 6 PM on weekends. The store is usually extremely busy with only a couple of checkout lanes open. They recently moved the cases of SmartWater to the frozen food section. Because it would be too logical to have bottled water in the bottled water section. Items on pallets are piled high at the corners of aisles making it difficult to make the turns and impossible to see oncoming customer traffic — mostly young mothers with a bunch of little kids wandering around.

Just got a membership here and if things continue how they were my first day in I will be back frequently. When I told people it was my first day in there with my membership everyone was so welcoming and accommodating and helpful it was unbelievable. Shirley at the membership desk is fun and exciting and everything A store owner could help to have in a customer service representative

This location is overcrowded. The selection is very good. Get here early, and then you can shop relaxed.

Terrible experience. Club was packed. Isles were not labeled. Hard to find items. Cashier was rude. Cashier messed up my order. I will never shop there again.

I am an avid Costco member for at least 20 years and I’ll tell ya, there are differences in every location. I moved to Avon, OH from NJ and I have to be near a Costco or else my life isn’t complete. I read a comment below about how Avon people are rude and I don’t think I’ve experienced that at the Avon location... in Strongsville I have and won’t go to that location. The returns customer service workers are usually very nice however, while I lived in NJ they never said anything about a 30 day limit for price matches… I’ve returned products that were older than the worker (no lie! It was unused!)and for that, I could not complain about customer service. Products are great but I hate how some of the best snacks I’ve ever had are not available after a short time and never to be seen again. One criticism that I would agree with from a previous comment is workers are always talking to each other at Avon location and ignoring customers when I needed help scanning something but actually the last time I was there, the woman was a little aggressive to get people to walk over to the empty self checker. There’s lots of people around and no one wants to walk over people but she’s yelling for people to come over to the self checker. I didn’t take it personal but calm down, not everyone is in a big rush. People need to take a course on professionalism in the workplace but I feel like that’s a nationwide crisis to be honest. lol. I’m never not going to be a Costco member and I choose the locations I like to frequent (Avon being one of them) because I’m happy with the company as a whole and they have the best deals.

Every time I visit this Costco, I leave wishing I had just gone to Sam’s. The parking is awful, lots of blind spots and bad set-up. The local traffic is also awful, which makes even getting into the store stressful. There is no family bathroom. Diapers are all the way in the back of the store and I couldn’t find the wipes anywhere nearby and they were completely out of boy pull-ups, which a huge amount of girl pull-ups. Products are not in any sensical order… smart plugs were in one aisle and smart bulbs were 4 aisles away. Kid/toddler clothing was dispersed all over the place. Compared to other wholesale clubs, their seasonal selection of items isn’t as good… but I do feel like their clothing selection is better priced and more diverse. Their cafeteria also has an ordering kiosk which reduces the huge lines I run into at the Sam’s cafeteria. Overall, it’s just “okay”—it gets the job done, but if you had to choose I’d pick the Sam’s in Sheffield instead.

If you've shopped at a warehouse store, you won't likely be surprised by what you find at Costco's Avon location. Large portions of prepared foods, enough produce to feed a small army, and the soaps, detergents, and deodorants to keep that army clean. What always impresses me about this specific location is that I see many familiar faces when I pop into the store. Faces that seem to have been around since they opened their doors several years ago. That sort of employee retention shows in the care for the store itself. It's clean, people are friendly, and most of all - staff tends to be pretty knowledgeable. No, they might not know every bell and whistle of this laptop vs that one (though, often they do) - but explaining the benefits of buying from Costco, what your warranty looks like, and more? They've got you covered. And that's more than I can say about a lot of nonmembership box stores. Knowing they treat their staff well enough to keep them around for years at a time makes my shopping experience better - and makes me feel good about where I'm spending my money.

Rude workers, especially the old lady with too much make up checking people's receipts on the way out. We had been waiting for quite awhile behind someone with a lot of stuff. Her line opened up, so we went to her. She yelled at us for switching lines even though the next person wasn't even up to the lines yet. She told us she wouldn't take us if we ever tried that again. She wasn't the only one but she was the worst.

Customers and staff are all very rude. Every time I shop at Avon Costco I feel horrible leaving there. Check out line workers never smile and greet you. They talk to coworkers the whole time. If you say something to them, how dare you. Ladies at the returns are always extremely rude about the return. Makes the whole return process feel uncomfortable. Worker walked right in front of me/ my cart with her ladder to front product in health care isle. Never said excuse me, didn't let me get past even though I was there first grabbing soap right where she blocked. When I said excuse me, she snubbed me and kept on fronting the products! Extremely rude! I'm not going to get into the customers/ fellow shoppers.Nobody in this place is ever friendly. Down to the customers! All rude! What's wrong with Avon?

I seriously love the deals, but putting up with your rude cashiers and cart unloaders isn't worth the price of the membership or aggravation. They need a huge attitude adjustment and training. I had a cart unloader lady snap her fingers at me today and point to a sign because I accidentally went on the wrong side. She was very unprofessional and could've easily used her words and spoke to me like a human being instead of snapping and pointing. Absolutely disgusting behavior for a grown woman in her 60's.

I had a hard time at the store because the layout of the store in Avon , OH was backwards to me. I was disoriented as we looked for party supplies. We managed to find what we needed and were pleased with the selection and quality but I'll shop ahead next time in a familiar store. Thenks

Always a pleasant experience shopping there! Never leave without buying a hot dog or slice of pizza! Very pleasant staff (avon location, location I always visit.)

Wholesale store that has most of the things you need for bulk food. You just have clothes, TVs and other electronics as well. Good place for tires so I've heard.

Most staff are kind, especially Jessica in audiology now, and Corrine! Been a member since they opened. It’s too busy, the customers are so so rude!! I’m going to Sam’s Club in Sheffield and loving it! Half the price, better perks, better food court (I have worked at the Costco one for a bit, nothing against the staff there they just need better quality/variety.

If you love crowds this is the place to be! If you want to be swarmed by people who are ALL in a terrible rush this is the place to be! But they have a few staples that I just love so we fight the crowds and put on our most patient faces... because I feel most people there are fighting their own battle of some sort.

Whether I was an Instacart shopper or here shopping for myself I have always been treated incredibly rude by 90% of the employees from managers to door people to cashiers. It's like if you're a cranky person and you don't like people go work at Costco. I get way better service and friendly attitudes from people at the Mayfield store. I'll just stick with going east. Plus half their frozen coolers are out, no warning, no signage when you came in and all the pet food has been moved to some side aisle and is very limited. It's like I don't know why I keep coming back to this Costco as a customer or an Instacart shopper, it's never a pleasant experience... EVER.

I shop Costco in Avon, Ohio often. We have a big family so bulk is what we need. The employees are always helpful. Something you don't see in other stores. My guy's love getting free samples again. The only thing I dislike is that the store moves my "frequently bought stuff". The local grocery store you can get in and out pretty quickly. Costco you cannot. It's a big place to hunt something down. It's the cheesecake and pumpkin pies that keep me from complaining too much.

Gotta love buying things you don't need in bulk! The rotisserie chicken is such a great value, can get a couple meals out of it, as well as leftovers for our dog and cats. I think they like the rotisserie chicken more than the humans! Always a clean store with helpful and friendly employees!

Great deals, like usual at Costco. The highlight this time was two 5 quart bottles of synthetic oil for $31.

We went there for eye glasses, to return something, eggs cottage cheese. Forgot the glasses Rx and the return item, but went anyway. Got the eggs and cottage cheese, then had a light dinner on the great selection of product samples ( love that). As always... Ended up spending $100+ on stuff we never planned to buy, but are glad we did. Love COSTCO!

This is a member based store. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable. They offer top quality at very reasonable prices. You can find food sample stations throughout the store. Great concept... try before you buy.

Jeff was the most friendly and helpful team member my wife and I have met. Kitchen table we purchased was a little too large for our car so Jeff helped us unbox it to make it fit. Above and beyond, thanks!

Great prices on most items but extremely busy. I will never go on a Saturday again. It was pushing the cart through the aisles and avoiding others that was bothersome. They did have every register open so the checkout was quick. I did compare prices to my <other warehouse club> app and did find a few where the other warehouse was cheaper. Sometimes significantly. So you still need to watch the prices.

Went to finally get my Membership Card after getting a Groupon deal online a few months ago. Customer Service desk employees are very friendly and professional. Could do without the completely rude people 2ho are being a-holes to the employees and trying to return stuff clearly after they got their use out of it. But happy with my new membership and deal I got on my Sealy Hybrid Mattress.

Always has interesting finds, nice employees, and clean restrooms! If only other patrons didn’t come JUST to have snacks!!! We’re shopping here people, stop clocking the aisles!! 🤣🤣🤣

  • 5/5 Teddi S. 1 year ago on Google
Always great service when you can find someone, which is everywhere and the staff at the registers are always so accommodating. They have a nice variety of produce that's in season and the best grapes. Can't beat the price on the organic bananas. They have a section of gluten free bread, pita and tortillas which is great and I love their cheese gluten free pizza. Another little pointer, if you happen to browse through their clothing section look for items ending in $ .00, that's the final markdown and the lowest price. I've found some great deals on CK dresses.

Always pretty packed but then again always great service, prices, and quality. Costco has everything! It is a membership only thing but there prices are so low that basically only really pay a lot for your card membership. It’s also not cheapy stuff too, they have real jewelry, electronics, sample snacks, and food court, and a large selection of household items, clothes, and so much food. Obviously because it is just a huge warehouse and all the product comes directly to the Costco you shop at! If you need a place for groceries, totally recommend this Costco!

Enjoyed shopping my first time. I had a wonderful conversation with the young lady named Ashley who was giving out samples. Very knowledgeable and helpful.

This is hands down my favorite groceries shopping place. I would not limit that comment to this particular location, I'm talking more about the store chain. This one though is very convenient for me because of my job location and I can go in and out in 17 minutes, because I know where everything that I need is. Staff is quick and helpful at the checkout, also they are really nice and fun to talk to. If you're not a member yet, what are you waiting for?

Great Costco location. Excellent parking and gas station setup. I've noticed the gas here is almost always more expensive than some of the nearby gas stations that don't require membership and always more expensive than Sam's Clubs gas. This is the first city I've been to where the Costco has was the same or more than other stations nearby.

I had an appointment at the hearing center. It took me an hour to drive to this location and when I got there they told me my appointment was for 2 hours later (I know i put it in my phone for the right time but at the last minute they changed it. I had a message on my voicemail from the previous day I missed) At any rate I said to the girl I can’t wait around 2 hours. She just shrugged. Poor customer service. I can imagine what the customer service would be like if they here was a problem with your hearing aids! I know it takes time and many different tries to get adjusted to wearing hearing aids. I will go to a real audiologist who cares about their patients.

This is a very belated review in recognition of a team member, Dalton, at the Avon, OH, Costco location. Thankfully he was available to load a dehumidifier in my vehicle; and he very kindly helped load my remaining purchases as well and returned my shopping cart to the store. He was pleasant and courteous, attributing to a very pleasant shopping experience. Thank you, Dalton.

I had a flat tire, it was just as the Avon, OH store was closing and the service department wasn’t available. As one of the representatives, Timothy was leaving, he saw I was still waiting and assisted me by replacing the flat tire with the spare. I was so grateful as roadside assistance estimate was another 45-75 minutes after I waited over an hour.

Always the best, only this time they didn't sell diesel!!!! Mgmt needs to do a better job of letting customers know which Costco's have diesel... And which don't!!

This is a great Costco store but as FYI a project recently started replacing a section of the freezer cases. That area is blocked off with floor to ceiling plastic tarp. I would guess this has eliminated about 50% of the freezer display capacity for the store. I asked an employee today (8/14/2022) and was told the project was going to take 18 weeks and one week has already elapsed so 17 weeks until finish. Some of my favorite frozen items are no longer available either because of this project or because of normal inventory churn. Regardless, this location may be impacted until early to mid December 2022.

I mean it's Costco it is what it is. The five star rating is for the food court. Not only is the food (pizza/hotdogs/chicken bake) top tier and amazing it's quick and easy and the portion for price you can't beat.

  • 5/5 Kyle S. 1 year ago on Google
Great customer service, easy to locate items, wide variety of pretty much everything. My expectations were met at Costco, you can even shop for out of season items here.

  • 5/5 Sherry C. 2 years ago on Google
Everytime I go in to Costco, I find things I didn’t know I needed!!! For instance, I bought a 6 piece sheet set today on clearance for 15.00!!! Not to mention the unbeatable end of season items, such as the 2 parkas I got today for $4.00 each!! Makes the membership fee ($60.00 a year for a regular membership) worth it to find those kind of deals. My only complaint is that they no longer fill empty ink cartridges for under $10.00.

  • 2/5 Michael R. 2 years ago on Google
Great store, wonderful location, but the upkeep outside (snow removal) is horrific and whomever is hired to keep it clean and safe needs replaced. For a nice property, i would expect it to look much better.

  • 4/5 Al S. 2 years ago on Google
It’s nice store, bur limited products comparing to other Costco stores. Especially food section, they are way behind. Most stores now pay attention to their customers and built a section for kosher, halal, and vegetarian to choose variety products to purchase. Also their fruit section requires some TLC. They need fresh and quality products. You can find old, expired, and even rotten products. If you are not careful you can we easily pick one. On the other hand, clothing section is not bad. They offer eduque amount of goods. Although, I can say the same for their furniture selection. I mean modern, multi function furnitures. Very limited. Also, It would be nice if they have more knowledgeable employees to help people. Overall it’s a good store shop.
