I am a senior citizen with hip replacements, knee pain and spinal pain. On my 1st visit Nurse Practitioner accused me of pill shopping and jumping from Dr to Dr to get more Tramadol. He became angry when I did not want Physical therapy or cortisone shots for my knee pain. He personally escorted me to the front desk and had secretary give me my discharge letter. I was so embarrassed as there were other patients in the waiting area. I have never been treated with so much disrespect v

A MUST READ ALL!!! This review is for the Dundalk location. Women at front desk are professional and kind. The Physician ā€œAssistantā€- Kevin Bedwell gets the 1 āļø! My injuries are 2 herniated lower back disc. My spine specialist from Mercy decided to try pain management along with aqua therapy due to my opinion to try every non invasive treatment. Instead of taking his advice and using Mercyā€™s, I chose this establishment due to a neighbor of mine. I brought my X-rays and MRI in on a disk. Once finally filing out 30 minutes of paperwork, I was in the back with Kevin who is not a doctor. His exact words were ā€œstart from the beginning as to what brought you hereā€. I started and was continually being interrupted with sharp fast questions. While answering his questions I would continue with my injury process. He questioned me ā€œwith I thought you saidā€. I then said you arenā€™t letting me finish because youā€™re interrupting me with other questions. The entire time whiling explaining to him, he is on a laptop focused and typing with his 2 index fingers slowly. He proceeds to tell me he canā€™t look at the disc I brought in and wanted a written report from a doctor of the imaging. He also said he has no way to access Mercy or Hopkins MyChart which would have the X-ray and MRI in the system along with the report and findings. Two things came to mind. (A) he doesnā€™t know how to read an X-ray/MRI or (B) this establishment does have the technology to access MyChart system and technology to use the disc I brought. Then I hand him a letter from my spine specialist from Mercy that states I have off work until I see pain management and they would determine the need amount of time off. He hands it back after quickly reading it and states ā€œoh I donā€™t give notes off for workā€. He then tells me we can give you shot treatments in your spine. Soā€¦ā€¦.this person is not a doctor but wants to put needles in my spine. Also I told him from the start that I wanted to try every option thatā€™s non invasive first. He sends a script for a muscle relaxer to my pharmacy (which I wonā€™t be picking up) and says Iā€™ll see you in 2 weeks. NO THANKS! Last I knew a disc is not a muscle. Sure thereā€™s muscles around the spine but thatā€™s not what hurts. Imagine the constant pain, the ability not to walk properly, sitting/standing, having passion with my wife, and sleeping with this pain. Maybe management should look into Kevin Bedwell and make a change as to what he does and who he sees. Almost missed another statement Kevin Bedwell said ā€œI canā€™t find you anywhere in the system that searches Concentraā€™s and Urgent caresā€. I asked him would he go to a Concentra when I was paralyzed for a week or would you go to an emergency room? He said well your job should have sent you to one. I again explain to him that I couldnā€™t even stand for five days. Then once I was some what mobile I went to Bayview Emergency room. Side note here for all. Urgent care doctors are doctors that have finished school but are having problems passing their exam to be considered an actual doctor. This is why itā€™s always a revolving door as to the doctors. This is why I donā€™t go there Pros- Front desk women are pleasant Cons- Youā€™re seeing a physician assistant not a doctor. The establishment doesnā€™t have the technology to see your medical history in any of the MyCharts. The establishment either doesnā€™t have the experience/knowledge or the technology to review the imaging for X-ray/MRI. (Possibly itā€™s both) Kevin Bedwell is rushed (there was only me and another patient there), rude, abrupt, sharp with his questioning, distracted, non caring or non sympathetic, seemed inexperienced with imaging(would rather read a DOTORS report) My advice would be stick to a major name facility. Also try and google reviews on the Kevin Bedwellā€¦ā€¦.zero! If you have a major injury I would say definitely donā€™t go to Choice Pain and Rehabilitation Centers. Itā€™s like the old clichĆ© ā€œyou get what you pay forā€ although Iā€™m not paying due to it being a work injury. They seem like a lower level Concentra/Urgent Care.

The administrator in Buckeystown is the worst, she asked me to call then refused several attempts to call. This is a Circus atmosphere, they fired all of their clerks and kept just a few to save money by using one person , looking at you thru a computer screen. They do not answer the phone but here and there. The customer service is F- and guess who they cater to with this service. You guessed it! Afro- Americans and some very poor other cultures.

Have been trying for a week and a half to take care of my RXs early as we have a medical emergency in Los Angeles, and I will be there when I most likely run out of my meds. The doctor squeezed me in early (after several days of working on that) ....he put in for my RXs....had lots of issues but was finally able to pick one up. The other one is now being denied by same doctor who says it's too early. That was the entire point of coming in early....because I will be in another state during the time I will run out. I have been going in circles for several days. There have been other issues with this company and I think sometimes part of the problem is that it's too big with I think something like 8 or 11 locations. They are spread thin. Do yourself a favor...find another pain management place. Also, since one of the doctors left recently it has also gone down hill.

I've been a patient of Dr. Onyewu for 3 years now. I love the personalized attention I always receive & my visits are never rushed. He is truly dedicated to locating the problem & treating it accordingly. I highly recommend Choice Pain Rehabilitation (Dr. Obi), to anyone seeking to find out the root of their pain & actually coming up with a treatment plan conducive to your needs. Dr. Onyewu, affectionately known as Dr. Obi is awesome.
