2 years after my previous visit, Brown Sugar was outstanding -and it still is. Hats off for keeping that level of quality despite the Covid situation. Great and very friendly service. All dishes were amazing both in taste and presentation. Top notch. We will be back.

Friendly staff, good food and reasonably priced. We enjoyed brunch here.

Charming and helpful wait staff. The oysters were magnificent. A little bread and fine French butter would have made them stupendous. Mains: steak was a bit ‘stewed’ , it needed more heat to sear it. Gnocchi (goats cheese, cavelo nero, sage butter and pumpkin) sounded great but I found it stodgy and completely tasteless. Sides: huge serve of hot chips (that were indeed hot, so nice). Lettuce looked weird but was quite enjoyable. This is our first time back for about 20 years so we’ll give it another go soon. It seems the fish pie is a winner so we’ll have that (and oysters!). Chicken or duck liver pate would make a nice starter in this type of restaurant too. We had 3 loud boring people right next to us (that kept nipping outside for a drag or two) . Without them, the atmosphere would have been fine. Our bad luck really.

Wow, absolutely wow. Fantastic food and somehow even better service. A delightful and attentive service team added to the atmosphere and made it feel very comfortable. Totally fell in love with your cocktails and will be back again! Wish we got the names of our servers but they were fantastic.

We had a wonderful dinner at Brown Sugar. The food was excellent but in my opinion what really separated Brown Sugar from other restaurants was how amazing their staff were - they really made us feel comfortable and treated us like they wanted us to be there and not like an inconvenience (as so often occurs at other places). Based on our experience I would highly recommend dining here.

Recommend the fish pie. Tom made me have a good time dining there.

I had the mussels dish with the sourdough, it was super yummy with the freshing green smoothie. My friend ordered the fish pie! It took approx 30 minutes for them to cook it but my friend said it’s worth the wait!!! Having said that she love love loved her pie!! Even thought it was a super hot sticky day!! She was eating and sweating with enjoyment LOL The Fish pie was actually one of their signature dishes.. looked amazing!! We will return back in winter to warm ourselves hahaha 😍😍 Only 5 minutes walk from Campbell Parade Bondi Beach. The waiter was very friendly, taking our orders, checking up on us etc.. Great prices 😍 Casual seating and ambience 😍 Friendly staffs 😍 Yummy food 😍 Great location by the beach 😍 Highly recommended 🏄🏽‍♀️🏄🏽‍♀️

Incredible meal, phenomenal service by a cheerful French fella, the mushroom profiteroles “Couté Gougires” special were life changing!!

We came for lunch on busy Sunday. As a hospitality worker I know how exhausting weekends can be and even if it was busy and packed of people, the staff provided great customer service. We were not even waiting long for our food, which was really delicious. I ordered breakfast plater for one person but the portion was like for two!! My partner had marocan eggs. Again, both was delicious. We are mising Brown sugar in Northern beaches!

The coffee was delicious and the food very inventive, but the service from the (I think French) waiter was really poor. From forgetting our menus and then forgetting about us completely, to talking somewhat "bluntly" to us thereafter, it really damaged the experience. We dined for brunch, so I'm hoping they're just more of a lunch / dinner spot.

Fish pie sounds off-putting… I’m glad I was convinced, one of the best things I’ve ever had. Burns your tongue everytime though 😁 Brown sugar is well priced, outstanding food. A local gem. The flavours -think fine dining. By far my favourite restaurant in Sydney. Over the Quay, Sean’s, the lot.

My partner and I had dinner at Brown Sugar in Bondi recently and the team were extremely accomodating. The service was flawless and the food absolutely delicious! We were even able to bring our dog along, we sat outside with blankets under the heaters and watched the world go by. Terrific night!

My family and I had a really good experience. We can't drink alcohol because of our allergies, but we were very impressed with the food and desserts, which were really delicious. Also, the staff was very very very very kind, helpful and trustworthy. The food, the service, and everything was so professional that we were still lingering after we returned to the hotel🫠 Until the end of our trip, we were all saying, "Brown Sugar was the best!” I will definitely go back again while I am in Sydney💖Best Lovely place 🫶

Delicious food and cocktails + excellent service. They ran out of my first choice of main (mussels), but more than made up for it with perfectly cooked scallops. Great place for meeting friends.

We were attracted to the stellar reviews this place has had in the past and the dog friendly venue outdoors. Unfortunately 3/5 people in our dining party rated their breakfast as “average”. Meals were delivered with long wait times and items missing. Staff are friendly. The only meals that stood out were the Moroccan Eggs. The last time we ordered the “Mojo Eggs” we had about three times the prosciutto. Coffee is somewhere between nice and average. Three stars.

The staff were very professional, very friendly! We sat outside with our dog and they were so accommodating. Offering blankets, gave our dog water and a treat, talked us through the menu. Thank you very much!

Absolutely love Brown Sugar! The food is fine dining quality at very affordable prices. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is warm and comforting. Couldn't recommend highly enough!

Normally 5 star but let themselves down with service on Sat night. Food & cocktails/wine were amazing as always and service friendly. We knew we had a time limit but the timing could have been more slick to keep us on track - even after some of us were late, we had to wait to order food and drinks, drinks took a long time to come. We weren't asked for a dessert order or reminded our time was going to be up until 2 minutes before it was when the bill (and yummy brownie) was put on the table and we were asked to vacate the table. We loved it as always but wanted to outline this. I acknowledge how hard it is to get people in hospo at the moment but there seemed to be no shortage of staff on that night.

What a gem that I wish I had discovered sooner! Came here for dinner with friends - the food was insanely good and the service outstanding. I don’t know how they do it but the waiters just seem to be the most attentive guys I’ve ever seen - I would just look up and they would come over right away although it was super busy. Definitely makes me want to come back for brunch :) Great that they accept the NSW dining vouchers too.

We had a wonderful time at Brown Sugar for our Engagement Dinner! The communication with Peta before the day was really prompt, and he even arranged to have personalised menus for us. On the night the waiter and waitress were very friendly and the food was delicious. Would not hesitate to book Brown Sugar again. Thank you!

Loved the food here, and service was friendly and attentive. Black stone eggs (with hash browns) and sourdough pancakes are the must haves. Reservations needed of you have a big group, but it's a nice little brunch venue. Will be back!

This little gem oozes warmth, friendliness and a genuine want to service its clientele. The food was way above expectation and if you're a beef lover, don't go past the Steak Tartare. Whatever you do, give this place a try.

The food and service is 5* The cocktails were so flavourful and the desserts was heavenly. We loved the tiny complementary brownie, it was such a cute touch. Cant wait to go there again.

I was here for dinner with my boyfriend for the second time just last week and we were so impressed with the service, wine list and food and ambience. We had a chat to the owner too who was very friendly aswell as the waiters who were looking after us. Definitely a stand out Bondi restaurant. Our team had the most amazing private dining experience at Brown Sugar. Peta was very attentive and took care of every possible detail- the food was absolutely delightful, the cocktails were great, the service was at the highest level. All 20 people had an unforgettable night and felt really looked after during the dinner. Thank you to every staff member at Brown Sugar who made this night so special for us all.
