I love this place. Just when we were saying that Sydney was missing some good places to eat at, we found this place. It was just the two of us. We ordered arancini(truffle), pork belly, scallops and the salmon. All very thoughtful. The pork belly has some pickles on it which I thought was a great combination as pork belly can get too much. The arancini was detailed. Every little piece of rice was covered with chopped mushrooms which means not a bite got away without flavor. The salmon was not fishy, light for the taste buds. Although I would recommend to have scallops first as the salmon overtook the flavors in the scallop dish. Service was very thoughtful. The lady helped move me to a table rather than a high table because my knee surgery. The food came fairly fast and was hot. There was also live music on the Sunday night. We would come again and make it a night.

Coming here today to meet an old friend and every visit of this venue makes me feel like meeting an old friend. Cosy hearty environment & very tasty food. Nice drinks and even nicer service people. Just like always. We ordered all the starters to share and love every single one of them. My all time favourite is the "zucchini flower stuffed with three cheeses". But we were really wowed and fell in love with the "burrata cheese". (No filter used for the the pics. Aren't they gorgeous 😍) Will be back very soon, my friend.

Lovely place to fine, this old converted garage has knowledgeable staff, great food without the pretentiousness of many a place and an impressive wine list for the vino connossuer. Prices are very reasonable and I recommend Kipling's for either a get together with friends or an intimate evening out!

Great looking place with an excellent atmosphere, quite busy on weekends. Nice selection of tapas style bar snacks and great range of drinks. Good service to boot.

Good local restaurant serving tapas type plates but with cuisine from around the World. It was a cozy place to be on a cold and wet night. The food was good, although the duck in the duck pancakes was almost cold (but nice and pink) and the fillings were scarce which made for a very skinny roll, but everything else was good, nicely golden fried calamari was a hit. Hope you enjoy

Visited this place for a weekend lunch. Nice ambience. Not too crowded. Large indoor seating area. They also have outdoor seating availability. The food and drinks tasted great. The order was served quickly. Don't expect fancy presentation of food or drinks. Price is little bit on the higher end. Average portions. Plenty of parking in the area and also close to the station and bus stop.

The food is so good and they have a great gluten free menu and can cater for Ceoliac people. The service is outstanding and the wine list is nothing short of epic.

Amazing little place with some beautiful food options and open spaces inside and out. Perfect for current conditions. The zucchini flowers, salt & pepper squid & duck pancakes were all delicious and ideal for sharing. Staff were really friendly and attentive.

A lively tapas bar space with a comprehensive selection of wines. The food is slightly on the pricer side and the portion is not big. Wait time is slightly long. The desserts are quite good.

Amazing wine list - just see Angus if you don't know. Especially this bottle of Pinot. Was lucky we had some pretty special company to enjoy a nice long dinner otherwise this place gets booked out on Tuesday! The red curry spring rolls and cheese burger were tasty! Definitely worth a visit for the wine lovers

What an iconic establishment. From being a working Garage years ago then turned into a Trendy Tapas styled bar is unique. The place was alive & we were serenaded by a delightful young lady singing romantic songs accompanied by her guitar. Keeping in mind it is only a Tapas bar so if you are looking for a huge feed you need to select several choices to share or ask for a larger table & have the lot yourself. The dishes were beautifully presented by the way & very tasty. Staff super friendly. A big PLUS for me. Right next to a train station so convenien t for some. Would I return? Sure! Why not!

This is my local. Lunch today was fine not great just fine. I had the gnocchi I would say at the most it was a cup of gnocchi very stingy serving for $30 left hungry. Had a coffee I remember when you opened, with your coffee you used to get a little sweet biccie but slim pickings now. Won't be back.

Great little wine bar with fantastic share plates, huge selection of wines and wonderful ambience. Appreciate that there was no loud music, we've stopped going to bars because of this! The service was quick, but a little too quick for our liking, they seemed a bit too keen to clear our tables. Although understand it was a busy Friday.

This slow cooked lamb dish with eggplant was really delicious. We went here for a get together for lunch. The vibes were good. Lots of choices. There is a lunch special for $55 3 courses and a coffee. Good value. Will return.

Would not recommend fish & chips dished. As the fish & chip is not fresh. Try the pizza, taste ok but small & pricey consider there are two other pizza shops near by. Coffee is fantastic. The staff there is great. She is exceptional with her customer's service.

Great service and good comfort food. A unique interior design, I do recommend family and friends to visit when nearby or living around the area.

  • 3/5 Emma V. 2 years ago on Google
Food was really nice and well portioned and the wine list is so extensive I almost felt overwhelmed. The only negative was the customer service. I wasn't advised there was an EFTPOS surcharge (it may have been on a sign somewhere but I didn't see it) and when one of our meals was missed the kitchen had already closed so we were unable to get it which wouldn't have been a drama if the staff had been polite about it. With a bit of customer service I would most certainly rate this place 5 stars.

Came here for a catch up dinner on a Monday night. The place was busy which is always good to see. On a Monday night they have live music - they had a great acoustic singer who was fab and helped created a brilliant vibe in the place but wasn’t too loud that you couldn’t talk and enjoy your meal. Most of the menu is share plates - they recommend 3 per person but we ordered 2/ per person and found it enough as portion sizes were good! We ordered the beef croquettes, baked gnocchi, spiced chicken, burrata, calamari and tempura caulini. Loved the burrata and the caulini but everything else was good just not wow Service was excellent, our waitress was v attentive even though we were super annoying and slow to order. Really this is a 4.5 star review but sadly you can’t give that on google purely as mentioned I found a lot of the food good, just not great. But all in all a great find and definitely somewhere you should visit especially if they have live music. The ambiance was awesome! Would recommend and would return

The food was really good and arrived quickly! Unfortunately the kitchen closed before 9:20pm on a Friday night so we couldn't order more.

I work in the area and the smell from this restaurant was the reason why I booked a table. The atmosphere was great, the staff friendly and the food was delicious. We really enjoyed our meal.

This is the ideal dinner date for us. Delicious tapas, lots of variety, accompanied by some thoughtfully chosen tipples. It does get a bit noisy at peak times but I guess it's a small price to pay for quality.

Kipling's Garage Bar is industrial- chic bar in a former garage, serving some good food including tapas plates, craft beers and cocktails, and coffees . It's conveniently located opp Turramurra Station with plenty of seating both inside and outside. Great service and food. Reservations are recommended on weekends.

My visit to Kipling's Garage Bar was exceptional. The atmosphere was vibrant, the drinks were expertly crafted, and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the evening all the more enjoyable. Whether you're looking for a great meal or a fun night out, this place has it all. I'll definitely be returning for more good times!

Great restaurant with a very positive vibe. Better to make a booking or be prepared to sit at a heated outside table first until your inside table is ready. Great food tooπŸ™‚

Finally got to visit Kiplings after many years of wanting. Fantastic spot for a lazy, long Sunday lunch with absolutely amazing dishes but not cheap so lovely for those special occasions with $33 average lunch mains and $14 desserts. Barra was cooked to perfection.

My parents have limited mobility and need a few considerations as a result. I had requested some extra space for my Dad’s walker and a table close to the door. I dropped my parents close to the entry and saw them in, then left to park. By the time I got back they were seated comfortably (with some cushions on the chairs) and were browsing the menu. Nothing was too much trouble. I really appreciated the care and attention given - it enabled my parents to have a very enjoyable experience

Kipling’s is a perfect place for lunch. Although busy when we were there for lunch, it was easy for us to hear each other. The service was great, food absolutely delicious and we couldn’t fault our experience.

Like the greenhouse situation of outside section.... Good selection of drinks, only issue was the bar menu has not that much to offer in terms of small eats....

We were blown away with our first order (pasta that could feed 3-4, an equally massive mouse, and a decent paella). We order the fish and chips about a week ago with was delicious although they were very stingy with the chips (one portion had a total of 7 chips! ?). Sadly our order yesterday was really poor, the size of the mouse had been halved since the first order (price is the same) and the paella was very poor), a shame as it’s made is think twice about ordering in the future.

Very nice atmosphere and customer service. I wouldn't say it's much of a bar, more of a restaurant. Bit pricey but lovely.

Had a great meal here with work colleagues. Food is pretty impressive for downtown Turramurra. Prices are not the cheapest but the food is of quality to warrant the price. I'd recommend the "dish of the day" every time - but you wouldnt be disappointed with other meals!

Loud, crowded and busy! Even in this Covid 19 time they are packing into Kiplings. No thanks!

,I am a local, I was not impressed... the wait staff seemed disinterested, fish and chips were over cooked. $37 including a glass of house wine, not up to scratch. Not on my list, what a shame it was so close to. I could not even get their attention to get a bill, made my way to the counter to pay, what a disappointment.

Delightful bar for great food and drink. Fried Chicken Salad is exceptional - chicken was tender and moist - batter was crispy and well balanced flavour. The chicken worked well with the Asian salad - lots of variety in the salad which was amazing. The fish and chips was also very good. Chips were nice and crispy. The portions were perfect - on the moderate side for big eaters. Their selection of beer is very good as well. Service was exceptional and staff are friendly and come across as happy to be working there. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We were lucky with the weather so we sat outside. It's nice there is now a great social spot for locals. There is free street parking but depends on when you choose to dine. It's just next to the train station. I would come back again if I'm in the area.

I don't often venture out to the North Shore but this place is a good reason to make the drive there! The menu has a wide range of tapas to suit all kinds of palettes and an extensive wine list. I had the Riesling and it didn't disappoint. I appreciated that the background music was kept low to allow for good conversation. I'll be back!

Dinner was awesome ! Thank you so much to the staff at Kipling's Garage. The food was great but the staff were fantastic. A special thank you to the lovely lady who helped me navigate the menu with all of my food sensitivities. Can't tell you how much I appreciate because I generally find eating out so difficult. It was also really great to see a young team where each and every one of them were attentive, polite and engaged. What a refreshing change. We'll be back !
