Mike had so much knowledge to share. I love watching birds but this tour was another level. I had no idea how many different birds were around me until each one was pointed out. It was a fascinating morning and I was taken to beautiful parts of the Northern Beaches. I did the morning 4 hour tour and was very satisfied with the experience.

Had a very rewarding day Bird Watching with Mike and a friend. We saw a whopping 58 species!. Mike is so skilled at finding the birds and also getting amazing photos which he shared with us. We saw a number of species, I have never seen despite a lifetime of birdwatching in the same area!. Mike's knowledge of the targets and their movements is impressive. The equipment he provides is first class, giving you the best chance of spotting some of the smaller and more elusive species.

Had an absolutely wonderful experience on the bush to wetlands bird tour! Mike provided all the gear necessary, making sure each of us in the group knew what we were looking for and the best way to spot the birds. He answered any questions we had and really went above and beyond to make it an awesome trip. After the tour, he provided us with beautiful high quality photos of some of the birds we saw, in addition to a full list of the various types. Perfect day for anyone who loves birds.

Such a fabulous excursion through varied beautiful bush, wetland and lagoon tracks that I never knew existed. I learnt so much from Mike who explained a lot about the birds habitat and habits. We saw some beautiful birds, especially the Sacred Kingfisher and Osprey Eagle. Can’t recommend this excursion highly enough.

It was a joy to explore the multiple bird sites in the Northern Beaches area with Mike. He was very knowledgeable and answered any questions I had. We saw around 70 species in a single day, 2 of which were very rare (brown noddy, satin flycatcher). Highly recommend to all levels of birdwatchers. You're guaranteed to learn something new!

My partner and I had a great time on the tour. Mike showed us all the hot spots and shared a lot of his extensive knowledge on the local birds and others. Perfect for beginners like myself and has fired up my passion to explore the outdoors. Would highly recommend others. Attached are some of the birds we saw on our tour.

I cannot emphasize how awesome the birding tour of Sydney's northern beaches was! I'm a pretty avid birdwatcher, and I saw over 10 *new* species (with over 50 total). Beyond the new species, hands-down the best part was learning from Mike himself. All of my birdwatching up until now has been self-taught (from books or apps), but learning from Mike was really incredible. My favorite parts were: - watching a Pacific Koel baby being fed by its Red Wattlebird parent (the cuckoo is a parasitic species-- I had read about it in books, but it was wild to see with my own eyes!) - learning to tell the differences between stints, turnstones, plovers and tattlers - hearing some of the bird sounds (this one is nearly impossible to do without someone else) - seeing several Eastern Whip birds. I've heard dozens, but they're notoriously hard to actually see I highly recommend the tour for anyone who is interested in Aussie birds :)

I took my Dad along to this tour for a Christmas present, and we were greatly impressed! Mike is an incredibly experienced, knowledgeable and passionate birder who everyone can learn from. He is an expert, and catered well to all levels - Dad’s been into birds since he was young and still gained a wealth of knowledge but I am only new and enjoyed it greatly. He was well-equipped, providing binoculars and a bird book. He took us to places we have never explored even being locals!

Our family enjoyed the morning spent with Mike on the Beach to Wetland half day tour. We saw some beautiful bird life, were educated and informed and discovered hidden parts of the northern beaches we had not visited before. A great way to experience local bird life and various habitats. Mike was friendly, knowledgeable and accomodating. Highly recommend Aussie Bird Tours.

My wife and I went on Mike Barrow's half day tour of Dee Why Lagoon Warriewood Wetlands and Irrawong Reserve. It rained much of the time but Mike was able to point out 49 bird species on our walk. Aside from the rain, it was a great experience and we would recommend the tour to others. John and Jeannine.

I had three days available for birding in Sydney in May 2023 and asked Mike for guiding support. He put me in touch with Martin Allen, who took me varied sites within 90 minutes of central Sydney, including lakes and lagoons, rainforest, dry forest, scrub. We saw over 120 species and I was able to photograph the vast majority. Martin was very patient with me as a newcomer to Australian birding and explained features, field marks, habitats, and was happy to wait until I had secured record shots. He drove carefully and furnished snacks and rinks, as well as finding pleasant lunch spots. We ticked most of my list with only a couple of dips (Rock Warbler, Lyrebird), and managed an amazing recovery on nightbirds, securing Tawny Frogmouth and Powerful Owl at the end of the third day. A pleasant and knowledgeable birding companion who knew where to go and what the birds would be doing. Thank you Martin, and thank you Mike for the connection.

Best day out! Took my 10 year old son on this tour and it was better than we even imagined! Mike's knowledge of the area and birds (by sight and sound) is amazing! We saw so many species up close, including a few new ones. Got some great photos and visited multiple locations. We even ended the day at a gorgeous waterfall☺️. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to do it again!

My group of 4 amateur birders from the U.S. had an excellent morning on the Beach to Wetlands half day tour with Martin. The weather in winter was excellent and our guide was friendly & very knowledgeable. Overall we saw 66 species of birds and learned many of their calls. Would recommend this tour to birders of any level.

I had a great tour with Martin from Aussie Bird Tours. He was very friendly and checked my level of knowledge, if there was anything specific I wanted to see and whether I was interested in taking photos. Martin was super friendly, very knowledgeable and pitched the information he shared about the birds we saw at exactly the right level. He took me to a few different spots in Sydney and knew exactly what to look out for and where. In total we saw 55 different birds and heard two more! A great experience that I would definitely recommend if you are interested in birds. Thanks Martin!

Absolutely amazing! My husband and I did a half day tour. We were able to observe around 60 species of birds. Mike takes professional photos of the birds that you see and sends them to you after the tour. He was also really knowledgeable and friendly. The walk is quite long but it is not strenuous at all. We had so much fun and it was a really special experience!

A very enjoyable Friday morning. Three of us joined with Mike who was an excellent and very knowledgeable guide. Even though we are familiar with the areas visited it was looking at it through fresh eyes. Visited the Dee Why lagoon, Warriewood wetlands, and the Long Reef Headland. Walked about 10000 steps and saw or heard just over 50 species of birds. A highlight was watching a pair of red wattle birds struggling to feed the much larger young Pacific Koel. MIke provided each of us with great binoculars which were a spectacular improvement on my own pair, and took photos of the birds and wildlife which he sent to us after the tour. We all really enjoyed it, and absolutely recommend it to anyone who has an interest in birds and wildlife or just discovering more about the Northern Beaches. Thanks Mike - a great morning.

I really enjoyed bird watching with Mike in the morning was fascinating I saw many interesting and different types of birds. We started on the beach we covered rocky terrain and later entered some forested areas. I am new to bird watching I have a lot to learn regarding the different species but Mike gave me a sound introduction. Mike was very observant and he has plenty of knowledge of birds. I learned a lot from his tour and also I discovered some areas of Sydney that I have never been to. Highly recommended half day tour! Thanks Mike.
