We had a wonderful dinner last night at the Deep Cove Chalet. The food, service and ambiance were all exceptional. One of the best restaurant meals we have ever had. The view was spectacular and we got to watch the sunset. Perfect spot for a special celebration.
Went here for a fancy dinner out at Christmas with friends. The food was good but not great. For the price we felt it should be better. We ordered a bottle to share for 2 and it was served to all 6 at table, that wasn’t great. Enjoyed the atmosphere but table seating needs improvement. My chair was backing into my neighbours which was frowned upon. Tags for coat check are needed, not a free for all so anyone can take any coat. We did have a Wonderful server at our table, friendly, accommodating and helpful! I may try again down the line and see if anything improves.
Fantastic place for a nice meal, i had the halibut (catch of the day) and braised rabbit, and my wife had the clam chowder and lamb rack. All was fantastic and cooked perfectly. the view of the water is nice and the garden is beautiful, it's not cheap but you definitely get what you pay for. And the service was great, the wait for the food was not vary long about 15 minutes between courses
This restaurant is like no other place in the island. An amazing night out awaits you if you are lucky enough to get a table. The flowers alone are reason to come. Absolutely beautiful and everywhere! Food is so delicious and service is awesome.
This might be one of the cutest place to go eat on the west coast. It is really not a cheap restaurant. The food is fantastic, you cannot really go wrong with any plate. The clam chowder is especially good, as well as the venison. They also serve wine from the area, this is a must try. The service is pretty good, but there were a few mistakes on the plates during the night which were noticeable more than once. The view you get from the restaurant is also really pretty. One of the thing I would improve is to provide some sort of fan or AC during the really hot days. Unless you're eating outside, it can get really hot, especially with the sun in the windows.
What can I say….Dining at this amazing restaurant made my birthday special and memorable. Beautifully decorated room, white tablecloths and expensive dishes and utensils, fresh flowers on every table, well and most importantly... it's a mind-blowing view. An aesthete like me got a real pleasure, enjoying the delicious cuisine, candles. Everything you need for a romantic atmosphere. I liked that the waiters did not ask unnecessary questions and appeared at the right moment. I will definitely come back to this restaurant again!
Food for two $180 including drinks and tip Positive: the scenery and the wine orchard is well worth the visit. Perfect place for wedding. Food is french insqired. Decor is a flash back to high end restaurants from early late 1990s. Lots of free parking. Many ingredient especially herbs are picked fresh from their garden or locally sourced. Fish was moist and flaky. Lamb was cooked in a way that isnt gamey. Bread is house baked but butter could be softer. Neg: i notice a difference in servers attitude between locals and people not from the area (us). More welcoming and chatty for locals. More indifference with us. Drinks were always top up for locals. They left a water jug and bottle on our table. Self serve for us. Even saying thank you, all we got was a nod. Then when we left, they just stared at us...but said bye to the local walking after us (they use their first names). we were expecting the level of service better than most but as comparison to Marilene, Il terrazo, and even The Keg, it was a bit disappointing. Food for thought: Great by the ocean view restaurant that everyone should visit at least once.
The Deep Cove Chalet offers a remarkable view and a welcoming ambiance. This upscale restaurant exudes a sophisticated atmosphere, complemented by its friendly staff who ensure a well-served experience. I thoroughly enjoyed their smoked salmon; it was impeccably prepared. While the oysters were fresh, a couple of them tasted slightly off, prompting me to consider ordering them baked next time for added reassurance. The prawn salad was refreshing, and the clams and halibut were enjoyable. Unfortunately, both the duck and bison dishes were a bit chewy and tough. However, the garnishes were exceptional, particularly the mashed potatoes and creamed spinach, surpassing those found in some steak houses in NYC. As for desserts, there is room for improvement. The crème brûlée had an overly burned taste on top, while the pear belle Hélène provided a refreshing option - the chocolate syrup was overpowering, leading to disappointment. Overall, while there were some standout dishes and aspects to appreciate, there are opportunities for enhancement in certain areas.
