Very beautiful small stretch of beach.
Beautiful views across the water, and good swimming (July to Sept) at mid to high tide (stay away at low tide unless you want to squelch through crabby mudholes.)
It's a very pretty beach, but I probably wouldn't go swimming here nor walk without wearing something on my feet. It has lots of shape shells and crabs. When I was there a lot people seem to be having fun w their dogs on the beach as it looks to be shallow for a while before the water drop-offs
We needed to cool off and have a wee wash as we were staying in the regional park which had no showers. We received a booklet from the tourist information with lots of public accessible beaches. We had a read and decided to visit this beach Chalet beach. We would never had found it or known about it had we not received the information from the tourist information office. There is parking for approximately 5 to 6 vehicles. You then walk down a short path, then down approx 30 steps to a pebble beach. The waters are reasonably shallow. The beach is surrounded by huge expensive looking houses on the bay but the bay and sea shore are accessible to all. It’s beautiful. We had afternoon sunshine. It was warm the water was cool but not cold (September 2024). The strip of beach was never busy when we were there. It was a lovely place to spend a few hours. A wee hidden gem.
A bit steep getting a kayak down, but doable.
Lovely beach not the best for parking but we'll worth a look. Some gorgeous properties overlooking it which will definitely make you yearn for the Canadian life style.
this is my home Beach and I literally raised my children there during the summer months when we spent hours there every single afternoon! sometimes the water gets quite warm in the summer but you really do need shoes to swim there because the beach is either rocky or pebbly, depending on tide status.if you are feeling really adventurous and know how to read tide and current charts, you could attempt to swim out to Wayne Rocks, a round trip that takes about two hours swimming. I did it first with my eleven-year-old son who was delighted, and that particular evening the water felt to be at least 22 degrees Celsius!
What a beautiful, quiet way to start our day
cute pocket beach for sunset images. There are some old pylons in the water that look great. The street by the beach is a NO PARKING zone. I parked regardless, its a municipal park and as such should be accessible to everyone that pays taxes and wants to enjoy the beach!
Just a small beach in the North Saanich area.
Just as nice as the picture looks.
Some nice views from this small beach. Doubt I'd be taking my shoes off as there are plenty of rocks and broken shells. Nice place to get some fresh air and some exercise. Nice for a quick stop in and have a lunch or snack and watch the sun go down. Got plenty of looks from the homeowners as we walked along the beachfront. Made us feel a bit unwelcome, complimented a woman on the look of the backyard, and she just looked at me for a second and turned around and walked baxk to the house. Kinds weird but it is a public area...
