Beautiful scenic Takapuna Beach overlooking Rangitoto Island in the distance. Great place to relax and enjoy a picnic and a swim. Within walking distance to restaurants bars and shops. And for children there is a playground. If you are lucky you may get to enjoy a free Summer music concert beside the sea. Free Public toilets and showers.

Great beach. I went there few times during the day but last i went there at night when the moon was full. It looks superb and the reflection of moon on water was amazing.

Awesome spot for a walk with ice cream or coffee. Beautiful views and the cliff makes a great spot for taking photos. Can use this area as the start for the Takapuna to Milford walk depending on the tides. Also has public toilets, rubbish bins and a world class all ages all abilities playground. Check water quality if going for a swim would be the only caution.

We live 400 metres from this beach. It is unique in that it is so near the City, has sands that changes daily. and is great for picnics, sailing, sage swimming, all water sports and dog walking. Everyone says " good morning" in response to greetings. All in all a very civilized place to visit. We have lived here for many years and love it!

Taka beach is an awesome place for a walk, they have changing rooms, shower and public toilet. Great for swimming but sometimes stinging jellyfish (non toxic, but can sting). Great for sunbathing, picnic, beach rugby or volleyball.

A beautiful beach right in the middle of Takapuna city. Plenty of Accommodation and a great camping ground right at the end of the beach, bars and Cafes. A safe beach for swimming.

Really stunning beach. Just a few minutes from the city, with a lovely cafe and ice cream shop. Very dog friendly, big park for kids and a perfect beach for relaxing, swimming or whatever. Can get crowded at peak times but even then there’s normally plenty of room.

Such a little beautiful beach reserve. Outstanding views, plenty of green grass and trees and a nearby playground Vary close to the parking area and a stroll to takapuna shopping area Walking down is the lovely Takapuna Beach which is another great place to relax and maybe having a dip

Nice beach with plenty of businesses and eateries around. Good place to take your fur babies for a walk, but please keep them on a leash (please don't forget to clean up after their "business" though). Let's keep our beaches clean. =)

I love this beeach. Very close to the city, good distance from where I live. It is my backyard. Good to go for walks, to swim, paddle boarding, the bottom is sandy. There is good parking, toilets, playground.

Dropped into Takapuna Beach to take in the ocean breeze & Latin Festival. It's a great location for something like this and free for everyone. The surf club is located next door, and if the kids need more entertainment the playground is massive and at the beach. Those looking to enjoy the view over food and drink, there is plenty to choose from on The Strand.

First time at Takapuna Beach for several years. Very impressed by facilities on and adjacent to the beach. Large car park with AT paid parking, if you can't get a free one, but very reasonable charges of $2 an hour. A short stroll through to the shops and eateries, a great day out

I feel one day I will be on this beach, dying, sword in hand, I truely see the bliss that will come for our people, the sands running red, flowing like silk down a firefly’s tail. A beautiful place to go until labour and national sell New Zealand to foreign entities and use mainstream media to condition and deceive the masses so they do not understand what’s going on

It’s a beautiful and quaint beach with soft sounding waves. There were quite a number of people with their families, walking their pets. We saw lots of seagulls too.

Takapuna Beach is one of the most famous in Auckland, with a lovely view of Rangitoto island. While it has nice views, there are definitely better beaches in Auckland, as well as run off at parts of the beach

Nice beach, probably a better choice over Long Bay Park. Much better than Mission Bay. You can come here for a nice walk and relax. As cons, it is often too windy and rarely end up taking off your t-shirt, basically never swimming. So... Yeah, it is a nice beach, but it is not like going to the beach, swimming, getting sunbathe... Still, recommend only if you live in Auckland

Nice beach with a large playground. There are also many cafes and restaurants within walking distance.
