We spent our morning here before driving to the Badlands. It was great. Lots of walking paths, bridges, an observation tower with a gift shop, and a great little cafe. We loved the grilled cheese and tomato soup. It was hard to pull my kids away, but we had a long drive ahead of us. I highly suggest this as a stop on the way to the Badlands and Mt. Rushmore.

We recently took a 10 state road trip and this was one of our stops. Lots of free parking with an easy walk to the park. No admission charge. We spent about two hours in the park walking the paths and stopping along the way to view the falls, looking at the ruins, visiting the observation tower, gift shop, and cafe. The natural beauty and historical ruins in this park are awesome. The area is well maintained and clean. Loved that this natural area is surrounded by a city-unusual. We noticed no odors while we were there. I believe it’s worth your time to visit.

We stayed overnight in Sioux Falls and passed by the falls before driving to Badlands. This place is clean with a lot of walking paths. It’s a nice place to spend a couple of hours. People were not deterred visiting the park even if it was lightly raining.

Google took me to the wrong place, and I was wondering "where are the falls?" Luckily, I had a conversation with a couple, and they told me there was indeed falls somewhere. I got back into the car and again asked google for help and again it failed. I had given up when I decided to follow the railroad since the couple stated they believed the falls were by the railroad. I FOUND IT! What a lovely people area. I noticed locals out and about enjoying the lush landscaping and of course The Falls. Children were excited and entire families were enjoying an outing. Good Job Note: the was a place to order food but I can't comment since I did not partake since the menu didn't interest me. Note: After I wrote this review, I looked on a map and I can understand how google or anyone else could be confused. Too many Falls locations. Therefore, I am posting the 1st location google took me too since it was also a lovely walkable area along the river. The city has repurposed an industrial area and I saw many families enjoying a scenic walk or bike ride. Very peaceful from the city hustle and bustle.

A quick stop on our way home from W. SD to E. IA. This worked well as a bathroom/food/stretch stop. Free admission, plenty of parking and just enough to see that you don't feel rushed, but you also don't feel like you need to spend hours there. We were there for probably 30-40minutes. We walked the trail from the bridge to the falls, took some pics and we're back on our way! Watch out for the sassy black birds, they're not afraid to let you know whose territory you're standing in!

A must see when either traveling by or staying for the weekend. This was our second visit to Sioux Falls and was just as amazing as the first visit. While we were there we heard music, there just so happened to be a free outdoor concert going on. We walked around the area and downtown, I have to say it was very clean and people were super friendly. Will be back again one day just to take it all in again and walk around the area.

Beautiful visit. The waterfall was more impressive than I thought it would be. In the visitor you can walk up to have gorgeous views of the whole park. We loved exploring and climbing around the falls and up on rocks. Always fun. Plenty of people fishing, we’ll kept park, and we are at the restaurant too. I got chicken tacos and they were big and delicious!

Falls Park was the easily the best stop of my trip to Sioux Falls. Immediately upon arrival we felt the primal part of ourself release as we wanted to experience the falls up close and personal. Amazing spots to stop and look at the falls as a whole from multiple distances and perspectives. The rocks are very fun and there are many trails around the area that make for a great outing.

This is a beautiful park. Clearly safe from the amount of people walking their dogs and children after dark. The waterfall is nicely lit at night with blue spotlights. All the park path lamps are currently wrapped with garland and white string lights which lighten it up a little more and adds a bit of a romantic vibe to it. I had a nice after dark walk with my dog here while passing through.

This place is fantastic. The beauty of Nature is really displayed here. The sound of the falls are extremely calming and the sight of them is captivating. There are places all over for picnics. They have an observation tower with a gift shop. There is a cafe as well.

We love falls park but with all the drought this year, the river is significantly lower than it normally is. Coming in the winter is a treat because a good portion of the river freezes over but the falls are still moving. They also have the Christmas lights out for the Winter Wonderland theme. The pedestrian bridge over the river is a bit small so you can't stop long to take pictures. Great experience though and I highly recommend.

The park was really beautiful and well kept. We enjoyed climbing and exploring the various routes along the falls and watching the water. Our visit was in the fall, so the water was much lower than the other photos we saw, which I assume were in the spring. It was still very worth the trip. Plenty of nice folks were visiting at the same time. Bathroom is clean and in good working order.

What a beautiful part of South Dakota. This park is very well taken care of. There is plenty of parking. It is free to enter and enjoy. The waterfalls are beautiful. You are able to walk right up and enjoy them closely. There are several paths to enjoy the falls from different angles

Date of visit: July 11, 2023 Very nice park. We found street parking before realizing there was more available parking had we driven just a bit further. The Falls are beautiful. There wasn't a rush of water, perhaps due to the time of year as well as lack of recent rainfall perhaps. Overall very nice park to walk through and look at the Falls. We also visited the gift shop and observation tower, which provided quite a view! Definitely make this a stop if you travel through Sioux Falls.

This is a really nice park. It was my first time in Sioux Falls so I wanted to see, you know, the falls! So we found this park and we were really impressed with how nicely it was laid out and maintained. Highly recommended.

It's a beautiful place to walk around and enjoy the sounds of rushing water. Walking on and climbing on the rocks is a nice change from just sticking to walking trails. At night, the red lights illuminate the falls, and it's stunning. It's definitely worth the visit!

Enjoyed a non challenging walk around a beautiful park on a Sunday morning. Plenty of restrooms, benches, rock scrambling, RCV opportunities and beautiful place for photos! The observation tower was open but none of the cafe/restaurants were open. Plenty of parking. Worth the stop to take a break.

I really enjoy this place, and have been here to see it every season. It's a must stop every time I'm in Sioux Falls. Listening to the water is so relaxing. It's nice to see more water flowing this year, the past couple of years hasn't looked promising. I will always return

We had a picnic with a couple friends from church and their families! The park was busy, however, we had plenty of space to ourselves and didn’t feel as though others were around! We brought the kiddos down to the falls area to look at the beauty of nature and decided on an impromptu family photo - it is awesome that we can get this close to a unique landmark! Wildlife was there and didn’t seem to mind us taking their picture. Ducks were bathing/hunting and having a great time of it as well! Recommend taking a few hours to walk the park, take I. The scenery, ready the historical markers and really get a flavor of this beautiful gem in the heart of Sioux Falls! And then come back to just enjoy it throughout the year!!

Very cool park that is very close to the city center. Lots of cool spots to explore in the area. There are nice paths for walking around the area. The views of the falls are really nice. It was also very cool to be able to walk out onto the rocks and do more up close exploring of the falls. If you decide to walk on the rocks make sure you watch your step so that you don't end up slipping and getting hurt.

In most places this would be white water but here the rocks are so tall and proud that the water is lifted high into the air. The Sioux Falls are not going to be the highest anyone has ever seen but they stretch on into the distance. The width is incredible for this type of fall. There is so much room that many people can enjoy this park at once without feeling cramped or even realizing how busy it is. There are bridges and over looks with strong metal bars so that everyone can safely view the falls. Though the rocks are still easily accessible for those with good balance, daredevils, teenagers and the like. There are picnic tables set amongst the trees. When not in use, they blend into the background. The parking lot is extensive. There are parking spaces right up at the head of the falls. The lit is the length of the park (which is the length of the falls plus a little longer for good measure). Many people choose to park at the bottom of the lot even when there are other spots open. Most cars were parked at the bottom or the top of the falls. The middle of the lit was empty.

Finally visited a place I found just playing around with Google Maps and Street View. Stopped by for lunch on our way to Omaha. Must be great to have a gem like this sitting right in the middle of the city. The series of falls is of course the main attraction. My kids enjoyed traversing the rocky terrain around the falls and river. There are also some old buildings and ruins with interpretive plaques/signs describing the history of the place. You can also go up an observation tower overlooking the entire park.

There are many nice waterfalls to be seen here. Falls Park was a really nice place to visit. There were quite a few water falls. No they were not all that large. You will see bigger falls in so many places. But they are big enough and there are quite a few. That made for a nice time to check them out. They have restrooms in a building close by. There are a few different places to park your car. The park itself looks like a nice spot to relax, play or picnic. The water falls are just the icing on the cake. A great place to visit.

Amazing park with beautiful scenery. We were passing through, staying in Sioux Falls just for one night and visited this park. We didn't get to see everything there was to see but enjoyed viewing the falls from the multiple overlooks. The reddish rock surrounding the falls is Sioux Quartzite and not what we expected. The park has a restaurant and well landscaped with grass. There are a couple historic buildings onsite as well. Overall, the park is a nice setting to take a break and relax.

Spent the morning walking around the park. Nice views from the bridge by Overlook Cafe and the tower. Also nice to walk down to the water and see a few mini falls up close. Plenty of parking and restrooms. Gift shop in the observation tower too. Green space for kids to run and enjoy the outdoors. Plenty of dogs enjoying a walk too!

Stayed in Sioux Falls for the night and had to check out the falls. Not disappointed at all. The surrounding park is big and offers plenty of vantage points of the falls, picnic areas, walking trails, and is close to several eateries in the area. There are even old mill ruins there to discover. My favorite part is the Sioux quartzite, there are outcrops of it all through the park. Interesting rock formation that the geology nerd in me enjoyed learning about. Great place truly worth the stop!!

One of the best parks in the US. The visitor center was clean and has lots of cool things to purchase with Sioux falls and SD swag. The observation tower gives a spectacular view of the falls and whole park. I'll definitely be back as often as I can.

Falls Park was amazing. Everyone we met was super friendly. The waterfalls are cool to see and learn about. The best part besides the view was being able to climb around on the rocks. Inside the park is an observation tower and a cafe (which is pet friendly).

Beautiful park. The area had a pretty awful smell when we're visited in may but I think it was the river. Probably isn't always that way. It's worth a visit.

Great place, so scenic and worth a walk - for free. Lots of little spots to take in nature's glory. Go at the golden hour, so beautiful. The old mill is pretty cool as well. Highly recommended.
