We rented a cabin near here for the weekend with family. I've always wanted to visit this house so we stopped by on our last day. Tickets were sold out for the indoor tours (they weren't doing many because of Covid), so if you want to do that, book at least a month in advance. That being said, the grounds and outside of the property are incredible. It's such a beautiful house and definitely worth visiting just the outdoor portion too. Plus you can see the inside through the windows. Tickets for that were only $20/person when we went. There are tons of trails you can explore around the grounds too. I'd allow at least 1-2 hours here. It's definitely worth a day trip to visit if you're anywhere near here!

Amazing house. What a breathtaking experience this house. Frank Lloyd Wright did a superb job making the house blend into nature and the whole thing be cantilever is astonishing. I had heard of this house before but hadn't taken the time to visit until now and I wasn't disappointed. I can understand why it is so beloved and really appreciate that it is being so well maintained. The tour guide was excellent and she really gave us great insight into the family and the history of the building. There are some trails to walk around as well if you wanted to spend more time there. Highly recommended!

There was more to this place than meets the eye..5,000 acres more. We went with a school group, so it may run a little differently, but we gathered at the visitors center and Pavillion where there is a super clean bathroom, a Cafe, a gift shop and a ton of seating for relaxing and having a packed lunch. There are also plenty of beautiful trails that you can walk..the tour of the house put us in a group of 10 and were offered a listening device while the tour guide used a microphone. The place is tight by design, and there is zero wheelchair or handicapped accessibility. If you have problems with stairs, tight spaces or balance, you may want to ask questions. Photos can be taken anywhere outside, but us limited inside which the guide will explain.

This place is one of kind. A beautiful nature walk to a true wonder. The visitor center seemed so calm and peaceful. it's an open roof in the woods. Even the mens room was beautiful. You can take guided tours, but it seems you have to book in advance, but for $15, you can walk the grounds on your own and still see the beauty. The cafe was really good and eating out in the lobby of the visitors center was very peaceful. I'm definitely glad to go. It is highly recommended to check out.

Absolutely stunning sight to see this iconic Frank Lloyd wright home for yourself. Highly highly recommend, even as someone who doesn't know anything about architecture this is absolutely breathtaking. Price: $18 for grounds access, $30 for grounds and a guided tour inside the home. Note if you're unable to buy a guided tour online it is still worthwhile for the grounds tour. Be sure to check in with the ticket desk every 30 minutes or so if there's any availability for the home tour. Duration: 1 hour to 4 hours. We ended up spending nearly four and a half hours enjoying each of the various angles of the house, walking every available Trail on the grounds, and doing the one hour guided tour inside the house. The time flew by and was absolutely worthwhile Trails: recommend the 1mile round trip hike to Paradise overlook, h on the map. This overlook provides a beautiful sight of the river I do not recommend the hike down lower bear run trail (Point I on the map). This one mile hike is steep with lots of rocks and there's no view of the river throughout the hike and it terminates at a railroad. This is not scenic nor an Oakley enjoyable hike due to the lack of use and large amount of rocks in the trail. Point F is the iconic view up the river where you see the waterfall and the house in one view. This is the best site on the entire grounds and one could easily spend many hours here just enjoying the view

If you don't know about this iconic structure already, please Google it. There's not much I can add that hasn't already been said a million times. What I want to say in this review is that you should visit it. The house has been maintained in nearly perfect condition. The tours are well organized and informative but you must book well in advance because it is a popular destination. I am including a few of my photos but photos really don't do it justice. There is a FEELING about the place that is relaxing and special. If you can refrain from taking pictures and just soak it in, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

We happened to be in the area and decided to stop by. Unfortunately, because we did not reserve tickets ahead of time, all the tickets that would give us access to tour the inside of Falling Waters and the grounds were sold out. The only option we had was to purchase tickets to see the grounds to Falling Waters. I have to say that the price of the tickets, $17 per person, just to view the outside grounds, peek in the windows of the house, visit the visitors center, and the museum/store, were worth the cost if you like architecture and take interest in how things are built. This house is a National monument so it was pretty busy while we were here. The price to do the tour that would include a tour of the grounds, the inside of the house, and access to the visitor center and the museum/store was $34 per person. Not sure if I will go back and pay that full price again just to see the inside of the house and take the tour. I feel just peeking into the windows gave me enough of an idea of what the house looks like, but I do think I'd enjoy the info I'd get to hear from the tour guide, so, I don't know, it's a toss up as to whether or not it's worth another $34 per person to get that information or not. It definitely was a cool place to go and see though and I loved the store/museum as it definitely has a lot of cool and interesting things you don't see many places you go. I'm glad that we decided to stop and feel it was worth the the time and I enjoyed seeing it and think it's an interesting piece of history worth checking out.

A shining example of just one of Frank Lloyd Wrights many accomplishments! Absolutely loved the guided tour, everything was covered in depth and with a wonderful personality! A beautiful setting and easy to find (despite it is out in the middle of nowhere) would highly recommend to anyone but especially architecture aficionados.

This is a world famous building! A must see if you are in the area. We went in late February on Presidents Day. It was a beautiful day. We just had a timed walking pass. This means you just walk around the gardens and around the outside of the house. The actual map they give you is a bit rubbish as their are no physical markers on the ground to correspond with the letters on the map. Also paths etc were closed for maintenance. It was obviously ‘off season’ so a lot of maintenance was taking place. The restrooms were not functioning so there were portapotties. The gift shop and reception area were closed too. However the building was great! What an amazing building!! The gardens are perfect. It’s a really great stop over and the whole area itself is amazing

We love it here! Highly recommend the inside tour at least once. If tickets aren't available, the outside grounds are just as interesting. This last time we toured it was late Fall - still gorgeous & picturesque. The gift shop has unique items - make sure to check it out as well.

Beautiful home and grounds. The views are absolutely breathtaking. We got to tour the inside of the house and the inside is just as amazing as the outside. Our guide was knowledgeable and funny. I highly recommend getting tickets in advance, they sell out a lot. The gift shop had some interesting things and the Cafe had good food.

Beautiful. We didn’t have tickets for inside the home, so we just toured the grounds. It was still a great walk and the grounds were lovely. We went off grounds to see the overlook about a half a mile down a path. It was a bit tricky, so wear comfortable shoes and watch where you walk if you go to the overlook. It is a gorgeous view!

We had Linda as a guide. Wow, was she knowledgeable and friendly. The tour was about an hour long, and she successfully answered questions by all. You can tell she has a true love for Falling Water. I don't understand the complaints. All you simply need to do is READ the website. It lists all the rules, and guidelines. Nothing asked of us was outlandish. Preserving the home for all to see in the future is best. It was our second time visiting, the first time was in the early 1990's. It's amazing how well kept and cared for the home is. Such an amazing place to visit!

Fallingwater’s beauty never ceases to amaze me even after numerous years and visits. I wanted to suggest to who anyone who was looking to do a more laid back approach to take the Grounds Only Tour. It’s only $15 and you have the entire day to spend looking around the entire property and even peak through the windows. You just can’t go inside. You can walk all along the terrace and go up to the guest house - just be respectful of the roped off areas. I managed to take these beautiful pictures all outside and not on a tour. It’s much more laid back. I suggest going at the end of the day around 4:00 pm as the guided tours are already wrapping up by then. Note: you have to leave by sunset so plan accordingly.

Built in the early thirties of the 1900’s as a getaway from EVERYTHING “Cottage” or Vacation Home, unbelievable advanced architecture and use of space and nature… I was very impressed to say the least! Quite the drive to get there but for me and my “Inspired” Son, it was definitely worth it.

Great work of architecture! Love the floating terraces. Good hike and exercise trails for me but not for old people who has difficulty walking on rough grounds. Knowing the history of the house and the owners is an honor. When going wear comfortable clothing's and shoes. 👟

This place is a must for people who appreciate Architecture, Arts and Nature. The place is so beautiful, well maintained and truly one of a kind work of art. The staff were very helpful, approachable and knowledgeable. The guided tour tickets sells out quickly so book ahead. If you have kids, better get the ground pass as it will not disappoint. The kids will surely enjoy hiking and exploring the manicured trails and the natural landscape all around. The only con I would say is that some rocks/pavers were a bit slippery, so be mindful and take extra caution.

Breathtaking and just absolutely gorgeous! It was such an amazing experience. My dad and I did this tour back in 2018 and I’m finally reviewing it. The house is very slippery so be careful when walking around it. It’s so interesting and there’s so much history with the house and family. It’s a must see if you’re in Pennsylvania! The grounds outside were my favorite part!

Absolutely stunning architecture. You could stand and look at the outside of this building for hours the for hours the art is absolutely fantastic. One of the greatest works of architecture in my opinion. Worth stopping for anyone interesting architecture or art at all.

A must see if you're in the area, even if you're not an architecture buff. Beautiful house and grounds. Very good tour guides. Take the time to walk the trail back to the Visitors Center. Some very interesting outdoor sculptures along the path. They could do a much better/faster job in the Cafe at the Visitors center but warning there are not a lot of good food options near Fallingwater. If you're in the area already, take the time to visit Kentuck Knob just a short distance away. It's a very different but terrific visit experience.

Like all the reviews, below is my real quick snap shot of my experience. So, if you have reservations for the tour it's probably worth it no matter. But If you area in the area don't have tickets come anyway get the grounds pass it's awesome. Take the whole trail it's nice to walk the grounds first, then experience the house. It gives you a better all inclusive experience and why he chose that area and let's you absorb the natural beauty that he designed it from. Side note if you follow the trail past the quarry go to paradise overlook it's pretty cool. Also close by is a family owned local restaurant, Brenda thumbs up if you've been.

The mecca to some of the great Frank Lloyd Wright. This house was an amazing sight to see and the landscape and surroundings just made the experience so much better. I've been to about three or four of his houses that he has designed and this one right here just really brought nature into the house and really made everything seem fluid. The creek and waterfall can be felt all throughout the house whether it is sight sound smell sometimes touch. You really get the sense of being in nature in a house like this as everything is designed to bring the outside in. On top of the house itself you can also walk the grounds and see other points of interest as well. There are some Trails you can walk in other viewpoints of the house which is highly encouraged. It is up in the mountains in the woods and I was fortunate enough to get the full experience of going there during a huge rainstorm but then having the skies clear once the tour started. So to say the least "falling water" was very literal that day. Well worth the price of admission and a must-see of Frank Lloyd Wright lovers

What a wonderful and enjoyable experience. I grew up in western PA but never visited. Am so glad I returned to take this amazing tour and see first hand the genius and beauty of this iconic architectural design by Frank Lloyd Wright embracing nature. Its incredible this visionary design was created in 1935. Amazing! What a generous gift by Edward Kaufmann Jr. for all to experience by donating this private property to be cared for by the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. The house contains the family's original furniture and art work. Wow! The grounds are stunning. Pennsylvania woods at their finest. The entrance is beautiful and there is a cafe and a very special gift shop filled with incredible books and gifts. Our guide was so very knowledgeable and passionate. I absolutely loved it. I walked away with deep appreciation. Highly recommended

A really amazing experience. Seeing pictures and videos cannot do this place justice. The harmony created with nature, and a man-made structure is perfectly balanced. We went on a 30F day in November, but still felt I could imagine what a summer day felt like here with the windows open, and a nice breeze. The grounds are beautiful, and relatively untouched. The home is setback far enough that you’re secluded, and there’s no noise (except the falls). Our guide was Brandon L., and he was great. We opted for the earpiece, which was also very convenient. Nice gift shop.

Fabulous location. Gluten free lunch at the cafe. Museum is beautiful. Art gallery is amazing. Bathrooms are gorgeous and clean. Grounds are stunning. Linda our tour guide was wonderful. Such a soothing voice. The house is unbelievable. So grateful they opened it up for tours. What a remarkable legacy. Would visit again.

Here is an architectural masterpiece. If you’ve never visited his house that he built here in the foothills of Pennsylvania. You need to come check this out. It actually has a stream running in the house. A very neat feature that you can walk down to any season of the year. Beautiful architecture I would love to be able to live in this house. Sits way back in the woods in the most beautiful setting ever. There’s also a guest house up behind it that not many people know about if you don’t visit it. It is a very neat place.

Wow, the house is more beautiful in person than any pictures I've seen. We did the house and grounds tour and just wished that you had more time in the house and less time walking around the grounds. The gift shop was well stocked and the art gallery was also impressive.

It is simply amazing that Frank Loyd Wright designed Fallingwater in 1935 as a vacation home for the Kaufmann family. This home is stunning. It’s unfortunate that it’s undergoing renovations that will last the next three years however, it’s better to see it maintained then neglected the ground surrounding the house are beautiful for short hikes. It’s very peaceful and calm. This has been a bucket list Item to see so very happy I made it out here. Went on a Sunday and there was hardly anyone here. Felt like we had the entire area to ourselves. Definitely recommend.

The space in the history is breathtaking. To see and feel how the elements enter twine and then remember that this house was built in the 30s is remarkable. This space is peaceful and well-kept. The visitor center before you get to work on this space is astonishing. The foundation does a wonderful job of maintaining the simplicity and the complexity. We missed the Inside tour but walking on the premises and the hidden paths I realized that this house has been here for over 50 years - it's magical.

This is an UNESCO world heritage spot. A special and unique place. I love the easy walking trails. When one is on the property I recommend you go to the left first, towards Bird’s Eye/Iconic Views. I got pictures inside the house and the guest house/servants quarters. When on the trail back from the house, do the loop in the clockwise direction to the Visitor Ctr.(it’s easier). Take your time and see all of the property. If you’re paying a pricey price, get your money’s worth.

I've been wanting to see Fallingwater for many years. My wife and I finally made it there this year. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and all the stories that are shared. This was a nice outing. We did not do the inside tour, you have to buy tickets at least 6 weeks in advance. It is $18 per person to walk the grounds. You can look at the house but not go in. There is a small garden area, a path to an overlook of a river gorge, you can look around the house on the outside and in some of the windows.

Beautiful spot. I've always wanted to see it, didn't realize it was where we were staying until we chanced upon it. You can still get in and see the grounds even if the tours are sold out. It's very worth it! We were able to see most of the house and get some good looks at the inside of the house also.

I recently visited Fallingwater for a “Remake Learning” meet up event. An amazing place with even more amazing people. The home goes on forever with beauty around every corner and curve. Indoors or out, it is absolutely breathtaking. The iconic and birds eye views each give 2 different perspectives of the home. A wonderful experience! Bucket List item checked off!

if you're looking to go inside the house, you should buy your tickets in advance because the spots for the tours fill up quite quickly. however, even without a guide, there is a lot to see and explore. the windows of the house allow you to look inside without entering also. it's really quite nice to listen to the sound of the river. it has a calming effect your mind. additionally, there is a museum that showcases photos of frank lloyd's various architectural works and provides insight into his unique perspectives. the workers there were all really nice and ready to answer questions. it's def worth a visit!

What a fabulous experience! We were there for an event that my 9-year-old granddaughter had participated in and were fortunate the house tour was part of our visit. The house, as expected, was breath-taking. Beyond that, every Fallingwater staff member (paid and volunteer) was above and beyond what you'd expect anywhere. The staffers directly involved with the design event took quality time with each young participant, asking pointed questions and truly listening to the kids' answers. They sought to ensure the kids felt important and that what they had to show and say mattered. The tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable, interesting and courteous. She, too, involved the kids on the tour in sharing their observations, encouraging them to take part. She allowed us to take our time in the rooms, absorbing the beautiful designs and accessories. I would go back in a heartbeat. Top-notch on all levels!

This has been on my list of places to see for some time and it certainly did not disappoint. The level of care that was put in the whole experience, from entering into the visitor area, to touring the home, and then the opportunity to explore the grounds after, was very lovely. (Though I should note there is a lot of walking and many areas where navigating stairs is involved, so this may be more challenging for some individuals. There is a shuttle to take you back to the visitor center from the house, but I'm not sure if there's any assistance to getting to the house initially.) Our group's tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and clearly passionate about sharing the history of the home and all its interesting details. She answered all of the group's many questions and helped make the experience much richer. The house was gorgeous, and I enjoyed exploring some of the trails around the house after. Very easy walk to be able to photograph the home with the waterfalls in view. Stopped by the cafe on my way out. The staff there were very friendly and offered a great rec on the oatmeal cookie. I'd suggest going for that and skipping their "MLT" sandwich tho (a very strange mix of what seemed to be pickled veggies on multigrain bread with a disc of mozzarella cheese). Other than that, a pitch perfect visit!

There is more than the house to see. You can walk around on a one mile path, or a different half mile path without having to see the house. We did the quick tour on Friday June 24, 2022. Came early and was able to grab an earlier tour.

Excellent tour given by Scott W. !! Knowledgeable and personable. Great history and arcetechtural details. Tours sell out so buying ahead online is a must. There is a great deal of walking and stairs both to reach the house from the starting point in the visitors center and in the house itself. Shuttles can be arranged if you ask. Photography is limited to first floor and some outside pictures.

We had a fantastic tour guide who made the experience that much more informative and engaging. Strongly recommend signing up for the tour in advance as the slots fill up several weeks in advance. A tour of the inside of the house is a must. Plan on a mile of walking to include checking out the property outside the house, so wear comfortable shoes and dress for the season.

You may be wondering, “I’m not really into architecture. Is it worth it?” My answer is, “Yes”. I was able to appreciate the beauty of both the interior and the exterior. The waterfall and the blending of the home with the landscape is amazing. The fact that the architect designed most of the furniture makes it that much more impressive.

Really cool to see this iconic building in person and definitely recommend for architecture enthusiasts. If you want to tour the inside, the tickets are more expensive and sell out fast but you can also get tickets to tour the grounds and outdoor spaces, which is what I did and I was still able to see a good amount of the building, as seen in the photos

Fallingwater is an absolute gem to visit! We purchased our tickets in advance for a specific time slot and had zero wait time, as our tour started punctually. Earpiece radios allowed us to hear our knowledgeable tour guide during all times, giving us freedom to explore a bit around the property as she spoke. The visitors center was easy to navigate and was very beautiful. The gift shop had gorgeous souvenirs!

This is the monumental masterpiece designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, organic architecture at it's finest. Tours of the house are available and they have to be reserved via the Conservancy website in advance. Normally, the grounds can be walked at a small or at no cost. July, August and October are their busiest months. Bathrooms at the visitor center with Gift shop and Cafe in the same structure. Look for signs for the "View." Two ways to get to the house. One via the stairs and the others by a winding path.
