Huge line but worth the wait! The line is massive but moves quickly we got our food within 10 minutes. The burger is one the best that I have ever eaten, it hits the spot. I always get the quarter pounder with cheese it comes with ketchup, pickles and diced onions, the bun is a soft sesame bun. The burger is cooked around medium well but for some reason it so juicy and tasty. The prices are very reasonable especially now that beef prices are at all time high. High recommend, I give the burger a score of 9.2/10.

After going to All American for over 20 years so disappointing today. Is it a new owner? 2 workers busier texting as seen in pics then taking care of customers or making the good old All American that was a mainstay of popularity in Long Island. Me and my 2 friends all not happy with the soggy greasy fries and sandwiches.

Wouldn’t consider this the “best” burger in the country however, I can definitely see the appeal as well as the nostalgia associated with this burger establishment. The burger tastes really fresh & great. The prices are unmatched and the overall anticipation of having to wait a long line is what makes eating at this location a whole experience. Needless to say, I will definitely be back for more!

Honestly, I really like this place. It's a cheap fast food spot which satisfies your cravings. It's kinda like when you crave that unique taste of McDonald's fries. Same with All American, a unique taste that you crave. I was able to get a full meal for 2 people for just $24! Where else can you get 2 burgers with fries (EACH) and a milkshake for so little!? If you are a Long Islander or a visitor, I definitely recommend this spot!

After hearing so much buzz about All American Hamburger, I just had to check it out. I went for the cheeseburger with fries, but to be honest, I’m not quite sure what all the fuss is about. It was an okay burger, nothing really stood out except for the wallet-friendly price. On the bright side, the fries were pretty good. But be warned, if you’re a mayo lover like me, they only offer mustard and ketchup here, so it might not be your go-to spot.

An All American staple of Long Island! Been coming here since I was a kid, so have my parents. This place is just classic Long Island. Its a no frills burger joint that tastes great and has great prices. Burger and fries is always my go to but the shakes, onion rings, and dogs are good too. There is no indoor dining here, never was. You can eat outside or like everyone else, in your car. If you've never been here and you live on the island, come here. An added bonus is that they take credit card now. 🍔🍟

All American is a great local old time burger joint. The menu is simple and its very tasty and satisfying! I recently visited and noticed that they have a new double cheese burger which I recommend I got a quarter pounder as well and I thought the double was the better burger in my option! The staff are friendly and the service is very quick! They usually have loads of staff on so don't be phased by a large queue! If you are in the Massapequa area and are looking for a burger, fries and a milkshake I highly recommend stopping here! A new feature that certainly makes the trip easier is that they now accept card, which is very convient!

I’ve been going to this place since I was a little kid. Recently I had family come in from out of state that are originally from here. Feeling nostalgic we decided to order a fairly large order for everybody. We ordered about $76 worth of stuff. We should probably checked the order before we left but we were in a hurry to get back home. Once we got home we realized that they forgot the two knishes. I saw we were in fact charged for them on the receipt. Unfortunately one of the people we ordered for was a vegetarian so it was the main part of the meal. That was kind of disappointing. A few weeks later my spouse and I visited All American again for lunch. I mentioned to the cashier that last time we were there we ordered a lot of food and they forgot 2 items. He called the manager over, the manager asked if I had any proof of the transaction. I told him I had put it on a credit card if you wanted me to pull up the bank statement I could. He requested me to do so. I did it exactly that, I showed him the $76 transaction and he replied back, “where is the receipt?”. I told him I no longer have the receipt because it was weeks ago. Then he said,” why didn’t you call?” I explained to him that my family was visiting out of town so it really wasn’t on the top of my list to call. I honestly thought that it wasn’t going to be a big deal and they would either reimburse me for the two items they missed or replace them on my next visit. He would not do either... even after I had showed him my bank statement like he requested. I know it may seem trivial, however when you spend that much money...The correct customer service thing to do is to replace the items. I ended up leaving with my order without getting reimbursed for my two missing items or refund. At the end of the day it’s really not so much about them replacing the items or refunding them, I’m upset about how terrible I was treated for something that was their mistake. That is the reason for the review. I expected better from All American.

No fast food burger in the world comes close to this spot! I've only started coming here 25 years ago, but they've been at this location serving the same recipe since 1961! I'm a quarter pounder with cheese gal myself but sometimes only a double double can truly satisfy a craving. Pair it with either a sack of their crunchy onion rings or their matchstick French fries and your set! Fried shrimp is a great starter too! And don't forgot the shake!! Make sure to order an extra burger for later because these are great even cold! Staff is always friendly here and they try to be as quick as possible once you got your receipt in hand to get you your order and get you going. Some seating outside but just grab and go and enjoy in your car!

I haven’t been here since before the pandemic I don’t think. Don’t be alarmed by the line if there are people outside. It always goes by quick as they have four cashier lines going. It’s a small place with no seats inside of the building, however there are seats on the outside. It’s a very quick in-and-out deal they have going on which truly is the epitome of “fast food.” A lot of people say it’s overrated, but it’s just a solid and consistent place that you can get burgers/fries/hot dogs for under $3 each which is a deal you can’t beat. I recommend the cheeseburger, the Frank, and onion rings! I know they have good milkshakes but I wanted to grab ice cream next door. People travel long distances to come here, I would go if you’re in the area already, don’t make this what your whole trip is about!

Absolutely amazing. Very inexpensive but delicious food. We went when the line was insanely long yet we didn't wait long at all. It goes so quick and we got the food within 5 minutes of ordering. I highly recommend dipping the fries in the milkshake. The quarter pounder is a pretty decently sized burger too! The food is greasy but great! (Isn't greasy what we want in a burger and fries?) It was my first time trying it and the line almost steered me away but trust me, it goes by so fast!

Prices were good! Order of onion runs had 4 small pieces but I guess that's how they keep prices down. But it was good. Order the quarter pounder. The beef patty was good and the bread was doughy. Good overall! Would eat here again

Best to take out unless it's a beautiful day to sit outside along Merrick Road. Great prices and they even take Visa now. Fast food atmosphere, more organized with the line and ordering. Line entrance on the left, out on the right. Fast and clean.

After taking the drive out to pay our respects to an amazing man we decided, the kids ands and I, had 15 minutes further west and visit a Long Island staple called All American Burger. What is there to say about the nostalgia of this restaurant. It has been there for absolutely forever. It has been open since 1963 and nothing about the place has changed. My son got two burgers. When asked how he thought they tasted he said all I taste are pickles I hate pickles and why is the meat so thin. I explained nostalgia My daughter got two cheeseburgers, when I asked her what she thought her response was the cheese taste like something. I'm not sure what but there's a hint of a flavor in there and I don't know what it's like. She then informs me that she absolutely hates sesame seeds and their buns have sesame seeds on them. I then decide to get my kids shakes my daughter orders a strawberry shake she tells me it tastes like medicine. It doesn't. Kenny enjoyed his shake but explained they were way too thick and hard to suck up through a straw. I had two cheeseburgers and they taste exactly like I remember them from being 18 years old going there and my friend Vinny's car. They both said the fries were good they are really salty which in their opinion is a good thing... This place has been around for 80 years, and I hope they're around for another 80 years so I can bring my grandkids here and they can see what we ate. I cannot wait to go back!

Don't know how they do it but the consistency is always there. If you liked it before you're gonna like it now. If it ain't broke.....This place is an all time favorite and they have not let me down yet! Good is great, long lines but it moves fast, which speaks to the amazing customer service. Definitely a thumbs up....oh and the price is right 👍🏽

The line was to the back of the building! But in all honesty, the line moved VERY quickly! It's an awesome place to go with friends or family for a quick and delicious meal. The folks working inside are awesome! They work FASTER than the people in the brand named burger establishments and the food is always fresh! I don't know HOW they manage that, but KUDOS to the staff and the ownership!

Absolutely horrible! Usually when I get a burger from here it’s really good, but this time not only was the burger absolutely horrible, but the cashier Nicholas was very rude and I found a blonde hair in my food. Get your things together man

I'm glad that places like this still exist. A 100% original preserved piece of American history. It's a beautiful thing. That being said I'm really not a fan of the product. The superfans of this place will ignore it but, it's inconsistent, some days satisfying but some days salty and lacking in flavor. I apologise for saying it, but I'd rather spend my money at Taco Bell and save myself the half hour wait. Just my own $0.02, be sure to try it and share your own opinion.

I have been coming here ever since I was little and I still love the double-double burger (double beef and double cheese). They don’t put a bunch of veggies on there like the fast food places always do. It’s perfection in simplicity. Fries are yummy and the potato knishes are crispy outside and silky smooth inside like they should be. When in the area, stop in and grab a burger and fries. You won’t regret it. Atmosphere gets 3 stars cuz there isn’t much seating. We ate in our car.

We love All American! They move through the long lines fast, are very affordable and food is very good. French fries aren’t like anything I’ve had in fast food. They have a salty flavor and slight crisp to it even thought they are soft, which is hard to explain but they are very good and cooked perfectly!! Burger is simple yet yummy! Always cooked well too. Sesame seed bun, little pieces of chopped onion, two small pickle slices and ketchup are what are on the original burger!

I've been coming here for such a long time and i really don't think i enjoy it here anymore. They finally let you use card which is nice. Food just tastes kinds bland and the prices keep going up. Two double burgers and a large fry don't feel that filling anymore. I think i paid 33 for around 5 burgers, 3 fries and a shake which isn't horrible i guess.

We kept our order simple, cheese burger and fries. It was a solid, “cheap eats” meal. I loved the history behind the concept and the fact that they seemed to not change anything over the years. It’s still commands a crowd and is a favorite of the local law enforcement. Keep up the great food and don’t change a thing!

  • 5/5 William K. 2 years ago on Google
Skip the fast food and come here. While you don’t have the same number of options, what they have is 1000 times better and less expensive. Plus grilled cheese for the kids. Line is usually long (because of how good it is) but moves very quick.

Historical drive in style burger joint, still preparing hot dogs, burgers, and fries like 1960! Even with covid, the line stretched around the building. Everyone I saw was masked and respectful. The staff really hustles, the food is fresh off the grill and delicious. The line moves quickly and there is outdoor seating, although many people were eating in their cars. Great place for older kids and grown kids! Rock on, All American!

Actually the taste of the quarter pounder was great 👍,. But the size of party was like half of the bun, didn't see the onions and burger n fries weren't hot. Was warm,.. I asked for how much more foe a additional meat party,. The say price is double,.. I'll give a second try.. see you soon!

This was recommended while I was in the neighborhood. I got there and there was a long line. It went by very quickly. I ordered a cheeseburger, fries, a hot dog and a strawberry shake. The cheeseburger was surprisingly finger licking good. This is a great spot and well worth the long line. I paid $11 total!!!!!!!!!!! 😱😁👏🏼🎉

  • 4/5 Jeff S. 1 year ago on Google
The line goes pretty fast on a Saturday night (~10 mins) as there are 4 lines inside the building. There are a few tables outside and I see people eat outside their cars with the trunk opened. The quarter pounder with cheese is good and simple. Quarter pound patty with diced onions and ketchup and pickles. Think McDonald's burger but fresher and more oniony. Fries is a bit greasy, and onion rings are just okay. Skip the Hot Knish (fried mashed potato). Shake is okay. Everything is priced pretty good.

I was out with a friend making courtesy calls for his company on Long Island and he told me of this and it's reputations fast service professional. Burgers are incredible. Although I live in Chelsea hopefully he'll be out there again and we can make another visit.

This is my favorite burger place, and you can't beat their prices. I always make a point to stop by when I'm in the area. The Quarter pound with cheese with pickles is the perfect burger, and no one does it better. It's my go-to order every time. The knish with cheese is also tasty and goes great with the burger. And the milkshakes are delicious - thick, creamy. The onion rings and fries are good too, and the fried shrimp is a nice addition to the menu. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is clean and well-maintained. It's busy at times, but the wait is worth it. Overall, this is a must-visit spot for burger lovers!

A must go to place when you are in the mood for some "all American" summer food!!! Absolute gem of a place that has been owned and family run for decades. This is a walk-up style, take out to sit outside or in your car. Lunch and dinner time can be very busy but your food will come out hot and tasty!

  • 5/5 gabrielle g. 9 months ago on Google
Long line outside proves its worth. Very flavorful double cheeseburger. Milkshakes are very thick consistency, like ice cream. Crunchy onion rings and some outdoor seating! Super low prices too, definitely a bang for your buck. 🍔

  • 5/5 David B. 9 months ago on Google
Classic example of the origins of American Fast Food. Quaint little building with the 50s flair makes you feel like you're in a movie! Formerly Cash Only, but they do take Debit cards now. Lines are long, but they move through them quickly - I started around the building and got to the counter in only about 10 minutes. They are super quick with service, as about 1 minute after I ordered, I got my full meal. When you pick up the order be sure to ask for sauces if you need extra. I'd liken the cheeseburgers to being McDonald's-esque but better. Super juicy sliders cooked just right. The fries were solid with a crunchy exterior and soft middle. And the onion rings were tasty, but a little too mushy for me. The shake was so thick that I had a hard time using my straw until I let it melt a bit! After a nice relaxing day at nearby Long Beach, this was a great way to cap the day! Go check it out!

All American is an okay burger spot. It has a nice old-timey setup complete with an ice cream shop right in the parking lot.The fries are really good and decently priced. It's a busy spot with great organization and the line moves quickly. However, there is nothing special about the burger itself, no extra seasoning or flavor and limited options for toppings. The onion rings are frozen and much like the onion rings from burger king. I gave three stars specifically because of the great prices; for $4 you get a fairly large quarter pound cheese burger and a small fry for under $2. Overall, I would eat there if passing by and hungry, but I would never choose to go there specifically.
