Hi, everyone, this is real. On Monday I went to the hospital because I was bleeding and in pain. I'm pregnant. I arrived there was a long line with people waiting to be attended to, actually I passed at 3 hours, an ultrasound took 3 more hours and then the result another 3 more and in the end they sent me home and said that they did not see anything in the ultrasound. I was still in pain and I felt very bad, apparently they don't care about this. The doctor told me that an obstetrician would call me the next day to check on me and this Wednesday she does not call me and I continue to bleed every day, I called elsewhere and so far no one has been able to help me. I am very worried about my baby if she is that she still exists and also about myself and my body. It can't be possible for this to happen, if you don't have enough staff or the empathy to attend to why they treated you super badly, I don't understand why they continue this profession. because to serve people one must be empathetic and patient, she was not the only one added that she spent more than 10 hours there and they sent them home with a tynatol and that's it.

We visited a family member in the Humber River hospital. The place was extremely clean and tidy, well maintained with well lit areas. Very modern building and design and layout. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and professional. Lots of parking available both regular and handicap accessible. See pictures!!!

The process was transparent, and the staff was highly responsible. Despite the staffing and medicine shortages in the Toronto healthcare system, these dedicated professionals provided excellent support and clear explanations of the process. They efficiently communicated through email and text messages with the accompanying person. Additionally, the availability of paid parking was convenient.

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to the amazing Team at Humber River Hospital. I had my knee replacement surgery recently and my experience starting with Doctor Chan and his assistant Megan was absolutely first class. Amazing to watch how the entire team worked together to ensure my care was planned and coordinated from start to finish. Thank you to everyone at Humber River Hospital #HRH for your support and amazing care.

My mother broke her leg the day before Christmas Eve....right from the beginning her (and my) encounters with staff were very good. Everyone was kind and compassionate. The next day, due to less staffing for holidays, a Doctor assisted the porter in bringing my mother down to the surgery floor. My encounters with the Doctors were informative and inclusive....pleasant (previous experience Doctors are usually aloof). Everyone was very nice to my mother and took very good care of her. Great hospital with a great reputation. Thank you.

Poor explainations of how or where to wait. Little transparency to patients about actual wait times. 2-4 hours has been over 6 hours. Doors from emergency department to the rest of the hospital are shuttered and locked, blocking access to amenities such as the food court. Masks required, yet absolutely no enforcement when a woman sat near me was taking hers off to cough violently into her hand instead. Nurses are curt and rude to simple questions on approach. Management needs to make staffing changes yesterday, to endure wait times are never over two hours. Longer is a crime against people's free time. Pay your people more, give better benefits. An emergency department half+ staffed by new nursing students fresh out of school is extremely telling as to the poor career conditions here. Edit: after a seven hour wait, got into an emergency room, with pictured blood splatters on the floor. Nice clean environment here Humber.

This hospital has the worst doctors and nurses. They are extremely rude and incompassionate. Stay far away as possible! My mom gave birth at this hospital alone. During her labour, she held one of the nurses arm as she was in extreme pain and Instead of being consoled by the nurse, she instead pulled her arm away from my mom so hard and told her not to touch her. They were so uncaring and the complete opposite of what doctors and nurses should be. I was in shock when my mom told me this. I wanted to issue a complaint but my mom told me to just forget about it that she was just glad she was able to deliver a healthy baby and get out of there alive. A separate occasion occurred that involved my friend. She had a Chinese doctor who’s name I do not recall. He insisted on giving her a c-section when it was not necessary at all, just so he doesn’t have to go through the lengthy process of vaginal birth. He walked into the labor room and told my friend that he was completing a c-section with another patient and she would be next, and the reason being she had a slightly high blood pressure, which was caused by her fear of giving birth. When my friend refused this c-section he began mistreating her and made her sign a document stating that if anything happens to her baby that they are not responsible. As the doctor was doing a dilation check he inserted his hand roughly into her vagina without applying any lube what so ever. Every knowledgeable doctor knows that you need to apply lube before doing any vaginal examination to minimize pain and make insertion easier. My friend described the pain and the whole experience at the hospital as the worst experience of her life. Please I have many more stories I can go on. AVOID THIS HOSPITAL. Mount Sinai and Toronto general hospital are much better options. I had my baby at mount Sinai and the staff was amazing!

This hospital takes patients they can’t get to and cannot sustain. I have to specify this is for labour and delivery/triage. When I called at 3am to indicate I’m having contractions they said I should wait until my contractions are 3 minutes apart because they are over capacity, and if I go in at that point I would not be attended to. As such, I waited several hours until I was in fact 3 minutes apart, checking in at 10am. When I got there, the front desk was seemingly overwhelmed as she came off very unpleasant. She asked that I go wait in the waiting room, seeing that I am in pain. She called me after 15 minutes at which point she checked me in to triage. Once I was in the room, a nurse came to check how dilated I was and commenting that I was hopefully not dilated at all so I can get discharged due to them being so over capacity. I was 4 cm dilated and as such required to stay and be admitted. As I was waiting in triage, the pain progressively was getting more intense and more painful. After approximately two hours from when I checked in the pain had gotten unbearable and I was requesting epidural. The nurse indicated they cannot administer it in triage and they’re waiting for me to get called in so they can do so. While waiting the pain became so severe and I started bleeding, so my husband called a nurse. I think she was a head nurse. When she came, she just said that at it’s due to having my cervix checked earlier. She thought the solution to that was to go get me a pair of hospital undergarments. While she went to go do that another nurse came to apologize for the delay of receiving the epidural. While she was talking, my water broke and when she checked me I was 10 cm dilated. She yelled out to get the doctor and I was rushed into delivery room. I requested the epidural and was told it’s too late and I have to start pushing. While delivering, and delivering in a way that was not my preferred, without epidural, the nurses are telling me to wear a mask, and to stop yelling. Just to clarify, I had confirmed previous to attending the hospital to deliver that when I am in active labor, I am not required to wear a mask and it is optional. That being said, I understand the nurses were under a lot of stress seeing that they were over capacity that day, however, I’m here to deliver and it is your job. The treatment I received was very inhumane, unprofessional and unfair. I do have to state that this is not a reflection on Maternal and Child Care. 2 out of the three nurses that had helped me post delivery were phenomenal. Their names were Fatima and Joan. They were both very kind, genuine, patient and knowledgeable. Joan definitely has many years under her belt because she came to provide all the information necessary. She was patient kind understanding and she treated you like a friend.

I hope no one would experience what we have experienced at the emergency at Humber River hospital (Wilson ave). We stay there from 5:30pm to the next day until 10am, almost 17hrs! We waited from midnight until 8am to do an ultrasound. At night there was only one person doing the ultrasound and the room was full of people waiting. They all left around 2am because they could not wait anymore (of of them was even 2 months pregnant). We waited until 8am and nothing. I had to wait because they told me I could have an infection and the doctor did not want to dismiss me before doing the ultrasound. I finally went to talk to someone (not the nurses or doctors) that started to work in the next shift and she was surprised that I had been waiting for such long time. She went to talk to the ultrasound technician and told me that my name was not even in the ultrasound list. The technician came after and took me to do the ultrasound right the way. The morning ultrasound technician was really nice, very thorough (maybe the only person who seemed to care about other people). After more hrs waiting, the doctor finally came to apologize because we were the only ones waiting for so long, My result came and they found kidney stone in the ureter. The doctor prescribed medications and a referral to see the specialist BUT instead of an urologist they referred me to a neurologist!!! Please, I suggest to Humber hospital to have at least an on call ultrasound technician at night or more technicians during busier times. I know everyone is tired but please pay more attention when caring for others.

It was one of the longest waits I've ever had to do here. I get that the hospitals are overwhelmed, that a lot of patients don't have family doctors, and that's why they end up at the hospital. I value this hospital a lot, but today, I felt like I did a 10 hr shift alongside the team. I'm not sure why I had to wait so long. All the tests I had to do were like 3 hrs apart. When they could have been the same time. People who came in after me were getting these tests done before me. Everything was unnecessarily delayed in my case. I feel like it didn't need to be that long. I then asked if I could leave soon because I didn't eat all day. The nurse said he knew I was waiting quite a long time. Finally, the doctor that took over gave me my results, and I got to leave.

Beside the medial services which is a very long hour waiting procedure, i like this whole vicinity and overall design of the hospital. If someone wants to do security work here, he / she can easily apply.

This is the worst hospital you could ever go to. My father went here late November because he wasn’t feeling well, his whole right side from his head to feet were cramping and in pain bad, they said he was “fine” and sent him home. At around 4 am my father could not talk or move and an ambulance was called. When the ambulance arrived they said he has been having stroke symptoms for a while now. He was sent to Western Toronto Hospital, great hospital, where he was recovering amazing. Then he was sent back to this disgraceful place because they said he was recovering good and was ready for therapy. When he arrives here his room isn’t even ready and had my father waiting for over 30 minutes outside. There were patients yelling for help and the nurses wouldn’t do anything that my sister had to tell one of the nurses people are calling for help and all the nurses say is “oh they are fine” and go back to the computers. Few days of my father being in this place, he goes back to worse and not improving, but when he was in Western he was improving. This hospital would not clean my dad. My dad was days without being cleaned. My father the later passed in this hospital. Please avoid this hospital at all time.

If you are in emergency and in pain, you’ll reach the epitome of patience and long suffering. With the ongoing pandemic topped with any holiday season, add on a few hours if it’s night. It’s an experience to not know when you’ll be seen, if the relatives waiting outside will ever come to know what’s condition you are in. I think it’s a good idea to change the “emergency visit” to “causal-y-ty” visit. Can’t believe there’s just one doc in the emergency. If that doc falls ill, everyone waits longer? If more people come in, patients in pain wait for the relief crew of doctors to come in and suffer till that time in the waiting room of emergency care hoping that someone will help. I really appreciate the staff who might be even over worked; however, with the size of the hospital and parking fees and the glam, some consideration to addressing the resources, the patients, customers goes a long way. Request you to look into it.

This is one of the best hospitals in Canada, if not the best. I gave birth here, my husband had knee surgery here, and my husband was treated for a broken foot here. We had nothing but incredible experiences. Our nurses, doctors and surgeons were experienced, kind, and knowledgeable. The rooms were spacious. We are so grateful to have access to a hospital of this calibre. Thank you, Humber River Hospital, you are making a positive difference in people's lives every single day.

Yes totally don't agree with the nurses and doctors laughing and chatting it up. On our time. Was in overnight and could not sleep for all the noise at the station. Pathetic. I thought they were having a party. Definitely need to tell you're employees shut up and work. Supposed to be front line workers , ha!! . Emergency totally messed up no patient consideration at all !!

After experiencing their Emergency Department 3 times I can honestly say I hate this hospital. The first 2 experiences were ok, just ok but my last one was the worst. I am pregnant and went in as I was having weird feelings in my chest and stomach. The triage nurse at the registration desk told me that she would ensure the baby gets checked out too. After waiting hours, the doctor comes in with a very annoyed demeanour and was extremely rude and dismissive. They pushed hard on various areas of my stomach and said it was to check if there was something wrong with my liver even though I told him I was pregnant. They didn’t call for an ultrasound stating that it doesn’t seem like anything is wrong and to just follow up with my family doctor if it continues. The whole time they treated me as if they didn’t know why I even wasted their time. Was in and out in 3 minutes max. Less than 2 weeks later I had an ultrasound at an imaging centre where they noticed I had cervical issues which could have explained the pain I was feeling. Was sent to the hospital and ended up having to go under for a procedure. If this doctor didn’t dismiss me and had ordered the ultrasound, I know I would be in a better place today. If you don’t have to go to this hospital please don’t. This doctor was a man who appeared to be of North Asian descent maybe about 5ft9 or 10 with a Caribbean sounding accent. They didn’t introduce themselves so I couldn’t catch their name. Shame on you.

5 hours of waiting in the Emergency room. still here...for a couple more probably Bring your own camping gear people, these chairs are not comfortable at all, especially if you are sick. Update: 8 hours in, they told us that it could be up to 14 hours to see the doctor...so we just left looking for a walk in clinic as it was morning already... But don't despair people, if you fall on the floor, they won't let you die there, the nurse promised. Why there are not 0 stars an option??

It's a big NO. Don't come to this hospital if you're in emergency. That took my wife 8 hrs wait for just taking blood for testing and no any treatments. Her pain is getting worse and worse and they did NOTHING. Had to wait next 2 days for ultrasound and they couldn't figure out the issue. And they still did NOTHING. I meant don't even give her an advil or something for her cramping pains. Absolutely useless hospital.

Do not go here if there is something seriously wrong with you. They're nurses are 90% horrible. Literally had one nurse come into a family members room gave the pills to another family member and said here give him these. They did not bring him ice chips or water when he desperately needed them. The doctors all gave wrong diagnosis, and when we requested a transfer they told us there was no room anywhere and after that day the help we got was less and less. Then when he finally got discharged we went to Mount Sinai the doctors there could not believe the stupidity at this hospital. They said there was room here for you we were expecting you and you never came. They did the tests and now we'll wait for a proper diagnosis within the week. We were forced to stay there for 3 weeks and had nothing done for us and we went to this hospital and everything done in a week. Humber river seems to only care about the money they receive for "caring" for you nothing else. These people should be ashamed of themselves.

I honestly have not idea why the rating here is only 2.5. They were the most amazing staff I've ever interacted with. Being in the emergency room, a wait is totally understandable. The staff were so nice and quick to answer any questions in regard to wait time, I was provided with the number of people in front of me, the nurse even came to find me, when the number of people in from me was slightly incorrect. Now, the Doctor, I wish I got her name. She was an absolute gem. She asked what details I would like to hear, rather than providing all at once and quickly. She was patient and understanding and gave me detailed answers to all the questions I had. Despite being in pain, it was an absolute great environment which assisted in easing all anxiety leading up and during the procedure.

This hospital is clean, spacious and the ppl working there are attentive too. My dad doesn’t speak English and they made sure he had an interpreter in emergency. Yes the wait times are long but so is every other hospital in Toronto. At least here I feel wait times in emergency are about 4-5hrs only. Prob best out of other hospitals within the city. Once referred to a separate clinic I’ve been getting calls from the support team that will oversee my dad, one by one. I also like the app that they use so I can keep track of my father’s appointments. Overall great experience while there.

Yesterday I had a surgery for ovarian cyst removal and i just have to write a review. I was on the 10th floor east room 1055. All the nurses and doctors who came to check on me were just wonderful.. nice very attentive and made sure I was 100%fine before I left. The nurses would come check on me every 30 minutes or an hour. I was treated so well… I overall enjoyed my time there and I am so thankful for all the wonderful nurses and doctors and even the cleaners who would clean my room twice and throw out the garage. Everyone was so sweet. Thank you again for making my experience at your hospital so great. It’s nurses and doctors like you guys who make a huge difference.

My mom (76) had total knee replacement surgery 3 months ago, double knees. Dr Patrick was incredible from when he saw us , efficient, to the point. He expeditiously booked her appointment (only 2 months wait) and performed complex surgery. He organized rehab plan for her, answered any questions we had. He and Humber river staff are amazing. We are lucky to have such doctor and facilities.

Had the worse experience in the emergency. Came in with my baby and husband. I’m exclusively breastfeeding and I dont pump nor have the things to do so. The nurses were nice to offer options because they were concerned I was exposing my baby but I asked them if I was going to be in a room with multiple people, if not I think it would be okay that they stay. So they placed us in a room. After waiting. I was placed for ultrasound and waited for two hours and between those hours. 0 communication. So I went to the admin station and two nurses were there. One was pregnant and the other one had long nails (worst!). I asked them if I can wait with my baby cause I waited for so long and I’m going to need to feed my baby but they gave me so much attitude. Telling me I’m exposing my baby and such making me feel like a bad mother and all. Never I’m my life have I met such arrogant nurses in my life. Also, came in with my baby months ago with paramedics. No one was offering to help me even though they saw me struggling carrying my baby’s car seat. A patient in waiting was the one who offered me help.

I had very painful experience with those people working in this place. I went to labor room to give birth to my daughter. One yelled at me that be quite, the other gave my new born baby a bottle of milk without asking me. My baby didn't want my milk for 6 months trying hard to give my milk to her. I don't call those people nurse, they don't deserve this name. I am a midwife from Iran. My patient all have good memory from me because I know how to treat with people in pain. Thank you

NEVER COME HERE if you need immediate attention as the doctors will not be available for more than 4 hours and then multiple tests will be conducted and you will end up spending over 12 hours at the emergency. It still continues, you will not get the reports for over 3 hours and no one would be willing to help. Please visit any other hospital or clinics but STAY AWAY FROM HUMBER RIVER.

I gave birth at Humber River's birth centre and I had a great experience, especially since I was hoping for a home birth at first. I had a c-section with Dr. Sterling and she was amazing! The whole medical staff (doctor, nurses, anesthesiologist) made me feel at ease and comfortable during my stay. I stayed at the hospital for 36 hours and the transition between the nurses during that time went smoothly. They provided me with great care and advice during the first few hours with the little one. We also had a private room which was great!

Amazing hospital. The Maternal & Child Unit staff were amazing. I gave birth to my daughter in 2020. The facilities were top class, I wouldn’t have wanted my daughter anywhere else. Ridiculous to see the 2.5 star rating. My mother has also been cared for at the hospital and only has positive things to say.

If I can give this hospital a zero star I would! I cannot believe the incompetence and lack of communication from this hospital. My Dad was in and out of that hospital 3 times in a month. During his last stay on the 13th floor the lack of communication and care was negligent! He was in a for 15 days. I cannot begin to tell you how much pressure we received to have him discharged even though we were telling them we did NOT have anyone to receive him at home. But that is not the worst part of it. We received a call from DISEASE CONTROL STUDY GROUP 1 week after he was discharged asking about his streptococcus amonia positive result! What!!!? He was released on the 10th, positive result came in on the 14th. We have health care workers coming in and out of the home, my mom is elder, we are exposed daily! NO ONE FROM THE HOSPITAL CALLED TO TELL US THAT HE WAS POSITIVE. The last week my Dad was in he was not visited once by DR. SAGMAN and yet they were pushing for release! Despicable health care! Don't tell me this is due to cut backs. This is about health care professionals who just don't care! Would not recommend this hospital

I understand because of the pandemic visitors are not allowed or they need to limit it. My sister brought there by ambulance, I called them after 2 1/2 hours to ask how is she, and staff from EMS department could not even give me a single detail how is my sister, if she is awake, sleeping, walking, dancing,. not a single info about her. Now you need to think, are they really looking/taking care of your relative inside? or they will just get the OHIP details for money... CPR, yah this hospital needs CPR coz their service is poor/dying.

The fracture clinic at this hospital is so bad, they book you an appointment and then have u arrive early only to have you wait 1hr.45mins after your appointment to see a doctor that just rush though your injuries because you are not screaming in pain. Staff here is too busy in their own personal life that they don't care about the patients. I hate the fact that am paying tax for service like this. They need to change.

I think some of these reviews must be based on the old hospital because Humber River's maternity ward has been fantastic for us. Everyone from the O.R. team for my wife's c-section to the nurses, tecnhicians and support staff have exceeded our expectations. Our recovery room is clean, spacious, private and comfortable. The care and attention paid to our newborn daughter has been amazing. Just wanted to share this after seeing how low the avg reviews are!

Canadian health system has failed. No one is in charge of controlling disrespectful hospital staff. They are freely and without any fear, disrespect you, humiliate you, abuse you, and basically violates all your rights. Where is all our paid taxes have gone to? To the garbage bin? We need them back now. We have not been paying taxes to receive this terrible service and for our rights to be violated. This type of attitude from Ontario's hospital staffs are not acceptable and must stop immediately. All reviews under any Ontario's hospitals clearly indicate this and those responsible for this mess must be removed from the hospital ASAP, tomorrow is late. There are so many experts are seeking for job, remove the violators from hospitals and use those who are really deserved to have that job...

Completely blown away by the quality of care at Humber River Hospital. Just had surgery and the pre op care through to surgery, care was incredible. Started with security guard who was so kind and wished me well. Admins, nurses, techs, physios and all the doctors who cared for me were absolutely wonderful. Did not meet anyone who was not professional, dedicated, kind and respectful. Seriously overwhelmed by the level of care I have received over the past three weeks. Thank you all so much, you are truly wonderful

The Hospital,Staff,Nurses and my OBGYN doctor were fantastic and super great. I had a very nice c section there but they told me to be in the hospital at 7:00 a.m on c section day but when I arrived nurses were waiting for me from 6:00 a.m which was weird. Also my husband didn’t have any space to sleep well. Nurses in delivery and postpartum were supportive. doctors were super kind.

Worst experience I have ever had at a medical facility. I would give 0 stars if I could. I went to the ER today with a potential collapsed lung and a lot of pain on my right side. The check-in nurse was rude and condescending, for apparently no reason, right off the bat. Sat on her phone and checked her nails while I was checking-in. I was then sent to the “fast track” area where I sat for over 5 hours waiting to be called. Every time I asked for an update I was told there were more people ahead of me. I watched people who checked in after me get taken back multiple times. I sat there barely able to breath and in unbearable pain but let it happen for a while. At the 5th hour, I had enough and demanded I be given an explanation as to why it is taking so long to be seen and why other people who came after me were being taken back before me. At this point I was in tears and almost completely unable to breath. Yet that wasn’t enough to get me brought back apparently, after already being there for 5 hours straight. The staff working in the “fast track” area were incredibly rude, condescending and unhelpful as well. I was taken to get my vitals done (again) and the nurse told me my breathing was fine and to go back and wait again, that I would be brought back soon. You can both hear and see that my breathing was NOT normal at all and that I was in pain. When I started walking back to the waiting area, a female doctor in a white coat tried shoulder checking me and instead hit my purse as she walked by. At that point I no longer felt safe being treated by this hospital and left. I would rather wait again to be seen by a reputable hospital and risk my lung collapsing then ever step foot in this hospital again. Truly disgusting and shameful behaviour, especially from a healthcare provider.

This hospital is a joke, except it’s not even funny. They misdiagnosed a mole pregnancy as a cyst on my ovaries which I could have died from the amount of blood I lost, they utterly failed my father and despite having been seen by their doctors for a multitude of medical emergencies they dismissed our concerns about his health, things we didn’t but know at the time were obvious symptom of esophageal cancer. When his voice was completely gone, and he was no longer able to eat any solid food- then he was diagnosed Stage 4. It was too late for treatment and over the next 40 days I watched my Dad suffer from starvation, silenced unable to speak, until his heart stopped. I blame HRH for this because they failed to acknowledge and act on the signs and symptoms they should have picked up, the red flags that we were waving. After all that, my partner is now their next victim. The psychiatric unit is disgraceful especially the acute care wing. How on earth can someone suffering mental illness have any real hope of “getting better” by being stuck in an empty room with nothing to do all day? Nothing except eat god awful wimpy meals, sleep with a small flat pillow and thin hospital blanket, by taking the medications they hand you, to be treated like a caged animal, your every move under surveillance including in the washroom, and somehow you’re supposed to get better? No counselling, no group therapy, no workshops, no activities, no real treatment plan in affect and this is somehow acceptable? Disturbing is what this is. Stay away from this hospital if you care about your health.

The Emergency room from hell, they take forever to see people in Emergency. They should've just called it "Waiting To Die". I've been here almost 3 hours and it's gonna be another hour before I can see a doctor. I thought them combining the 3 hospitals was supposed tomake it more efficient it's just a bigger version of Hell. Don't go here unless you truly want to die before a doctor can see you.

Had my baby here 3 months ago. The maternity ward is amazing and the staff very caring both pre and post delivery. I had a c section and I felt that my level of care was very high and that I could not have asked for more attentive staff. I know that hospital staff have been struggling with burnout but they did not once make me feel like a burden. My baby was also very well cared for and checked on very regularly. Thank you to everyone that helped during my pregnancy and delivery.

I would prefer to give zero stars if I could. This hospital has got to be the worse in all of ontario. No sense of compassion or care is given from any of the hospital staff. I had two family members in the ICU that were being treated for covid-19 and based on the care they received or lack there of, you would swear they would rather people die than give them any help. The nurses and the doctors work with no sense of urgency whatsoever. I’ve witnessed almost all nurses on the ICU floor on their cellphones, while patient monitors were lit up and going off like a christmas tree. Doctors only appear in the mornings and give a 20 min update after reading nurse reports that was provided from the following day. I’ve heard nurses yell and lose their patience with elderly patients over the silliest of things. I’m grateful that both my family members are out of this hospital and transferred elsewhere. Otherwise, they would be left for dead. If you could, go elsewhere.

An amazing experience from beginning to end! I had a foot surgery at Humber River Hospital and it went better than I could have imagined. The staff were extremely caring, listening to my concerns and answering my questions with patience. Dr Marsh is an incredible surgeon compassionate and highly skilled. I had Nurse Caitlin and Ariel who were caring, attentive and kept me informed every step of the way. Dr Kyle Waldman expertly placed a nerve block that was virtually painless. He supported me during my surgery, was highly responsive to my needs and I felt extremely well cared for. I feel like I had the best team imaginable and I couldn’t be happier. Thank you to all the outstanding staff in the OR, and to everyone that makes Humber OR a seamless day!

Ailyn in the maternity ward was the most helpful to me and my family! She took care of me and my baby and went over and beyond for us. We had such an amazing experience because of her. Hospitals need more staff like her. You can tell she truly enjoys her career and is amazing at it!

Excellent service and helpful staff. After an unfortunate accident, we were quickly assessed in emergency and provided with X-rays. When we returned the next day to the fracture clinic we were able to get a CT scan on the same day and had surgery booked for the following day. Everyone was extremely professional and made my situation more bearable with their considerate care. Thank you.

This is an excellent hospital! I don’t understand how they get low star ratings. People should really stop & think about how fortunate we are to have such an amazing facility and their amazing staff! I had Breast cancer and the quality of care I received was way amazing and I honestly couldn’t ask for more. They far exceeded my expectations!

I had a double anterior hip replacement last week. I have high praise for all aspects of my treatment, from pre-op, to surgery, nursing care and discharge. I am at home and walking. I felt they had everything well under control and were always pleasant and polite. My one suggestion is to ensure that the newer nurses are all trained to be experts in use of the cold compressors and how to wrap the patient for treatment. It would make the entire experience perfect.

I thought yesterday would be the day I get help. Man was I so wrong about that. I struggle with mental health. I’ve seen professionals. Yesterday was different. I was taken to the mental health facility. Yes I raised my voice when nurse Valarie asked a question that brought out suppressed ugly emotions. But you guys locked me in a room to cry by myself, my husband watching through the other side of the door. I starred at security and the nurse to come back. I said if you open the door I’ll go home, unless you’re going to come talk to me. Valarie brought me a paper to sign & go home. I asked Valerie if she was going to come back and talk to be, because if so I will stay. She walked away. She came to get the paper, I asked her “so you weren’t going to come back” she said that’s not true. (Even though she walked away the first time) They unlocked the door and before I walked out, I asked “was anyone ever going to come talk to me?” Complete silence. I left in tears. No one truly cares about mental health, maybe they use to… But it’s very evident today that no one cares, especially Humber river hospital.

I am beyond satisfied with this hospital. The staff and doctors are all very polite and knowledgeable. Every person demonstrated their enjoyment to be there to help and care for their patients.(Volunteers, Nurses and Doctors) This was my first experience at this hospital bringing my mom there for her surgery with DrStarr. I would recommend this hospital! It was very well maintained and clean!!! Very easy to get around to and not get lost ! If I have to go to a hospital, I would definitely go here again.

When you to visit the Emergency Department 3 times for the same issue and told the 1st Doctor didn't take of it .... Nice facilities, but it didn't take very long for this new hospital to compare evenly with the older hospitals when it comes to efficiency and service. Waste of money. As per site: "Our state-of-the-art facility is enabling our physicians and staff to deliver healthcare in new and innovative ways, and is a model of efficiency for hospitals around the world." NOT MORE EFFICIENT THAN OTHER HOSPITALS. Back to the drawing board... And bring lots of money for parking!

This review is only based on the bariatric clinic. I had rny surgery 3 years ago and I BARELY got any follow ups only a few over the phone. They would keep rescheduling and then when that appointment came they rescheduled. Because of this I had a lot of cons because of this surgery and no one really cared. I felt so alone and got depressed due to this situation. I am so disappointed in our health care system. They truly make us feel unappreciated.

Entered the ER at 7:45 pm yesterday with shortness of breath and chest pain. Within 20 minutes I had an ECG and then sent to next area to be seen by dr. Blood tests done then covid test and x-ray. I was well looked after, especially by Dr. Vincent Brienza. Lovely bedside manner and was very compassionate and professional. Covered all areas. Ended up I have pneumonia and medication was prescribed. All in all, it took 5 hours but satisfied with outcome especially the $10 parking fee. My own family dr, was impressed with how I was taken care of, and that says a lot ❤️

I was referred to Humber River EARLY PREGNANCY CLINIC due to bleeding while being early in my pregnancy. When I called the clinic to see if I could make my appointment sooner (due to my bleeding & the anxiety I was having), the receptionist was very insensitive and said, "maybe it's mother nature taking its course" and that my appointment date could not be changed. For someone who answers the phones and is oftentimes the first person patients speak to, I was surprised at how insensitive her remarks were; patients who have been referred here are already very emotional and anxious. How is this acceptable? Once I was at the clinic however, the nurses and ultrasound technicians were all very friendly.

I don’t know if it’s gotten any better since I last was there but this hospital is more equipped for bodies but is lacking in bedside manner and communication. The last time I was there I overheard someone saying they sent a heart patient home with the wrong medication. After in take - They also talk to you in the waiting room infront of everyone. When my sister went there for her surgery around this time she was the last appointment of the day. She had spent the night before prepping and worried and spent the day hooked up to something in bed only to be told last minute to go home because they weren’t going to do anymore surgeries. Hopefully they’ve improved.

A short and Simple review for this Place. Don't come here if you have any Emergency. If you have lots of time, sure you can come here. And here some Nurses and security guards are really needed to have proper training and Manners for how to talk with Patients and Visitors. They make this place totally Avoidable and Helpless... Trust me, some are really nice Doctors and Nurses but some.. wish I could file a case against them.

All the staff at Humber River have been very friendly and professional, except on Friday, Sep 22, 2017. I was for follow up visit the day before, on September 21, 2017. The Doctor, wanted to do blood test and C-Scan. The booking lady left the appointment for Monday Sep, 25. Then she called back because of busy schedule it was re-booked for Oct 3, 2017. No Problem. On Friday, 22 Sep, around 9:30, I had a phone call, recorded message, that I have an URGENT appointment for same day 12:00PM. No explanation at all. Called back as I was in Peel at the moment, They only said it’s very URGENT. At 11:30 I was at Cardiology, and the Front Desk Lady was very helpful, to investigate, and find out that I was scheduled for C-Scan, as I had no clue what was called for, what was the URGENT. Went on second floor, checked in at 11:55AM, and waited outside. Around 12:15 PM, I was called in, and waited inside. Around 12:45, the nurse, Ellen, prepared me for the C-Scan, needle on the vein, signed some papers, she explained the risks, she never mention anything about eating or drinking, I learned that after when I re-booked. I waited in room for another 45 minutes, with needle in my arm. At 1:30 I went to Ellen, asked if I have to wait any longer because at 2:30 I had to leave, no matter what, I have to pick up my son, 6 years old, or she can tell me so I can make some arrangements, call my wife or someone else. She said I had to wait in the room and she will let me know. She never came. At 2PM I had no choice, I spoke to another Nurse, I explained to her that I had to leave, 2 hours waiting, when is URGENT, and I had to go and pick up my son. Ellen got upset??!!, why I was talking to another person, and was mimicking me, behind my back!!! Then another Nurse came in almost screaming, trying to scare me, that I might DIE if I left and re-booked the appointment. And calmly I told her I was no Rude to anyone, but as a father, parent, it would be no problem if I Die and not leave my Son alone. I’m sorry I might sound harsh but even animals take care of their children! !) If you call people for appointment, please don’t leave only the time, and Humber River Hospital, please explain the reason, what a patient has to do prior to the visit(Eating, Drinking…), and which clinic he has to go( FYI, I still have the message) 2)If you are busy, over scheduled, is not a problem, but please notify people, so we can make arrangements. 3} Being rude is not an option, and please do not provoke people, I think she wanted me to explode. Sorry, I’m better than that. 4) Do not have fun with patients.

The staff that I have been introduced to for my son health care just didn’t seem qualified. It’s not my job to use hospital equipment to administer medication/oxygen to my son. We were admitted due to my son needing oxygen support and you think they have machines in the main room to notify of drops or being not connected. They check on patients once a shift. No one is ever at the desk to unlock doors to allow people to get back to there rooms. They have bad attitudes for when you want to leave to get water or food for yourself.

I had a great experience at Humber River Emergency today. It was a bit of wait to see a doctor, once seen all tests and scans was done immediately after. I was reassess when the results became available to the doctor. Thank you to the Emergency Department, nurses, lab techs, diagnostic imaging techs and most importantly thanks to Dr Wendy Lai, you are an amazing doctor!!!

Do not come here if you want fast service. I arrived at the hospital at 2:45am and had still not seen by a doctor by 6:15am. I came in with a splitting migraine while pregnant. This hospital must be severely understaffed since I don’t know why they would leave a patient suffering for hours on end. I still need to pick my hospital for having a baby - definitely won’t be this one! Take this one off your list immediately.

They don’t see you at the time you are booked, they let you take the number and wait a minimum of 1 hour to mark you in, then they tell you to go wait there your name will be called this time not your number 🤣 then you go wait another hour!!! Then they call your NAME. Then they take you to a smaller room called the examiner's office wait another minimum of 40 min to be seen! Then the Dr came to chat with you for a maximum of 10 min my case was 6 min. Then they let you go and you will be called for another appointment or whatever…. All this reminds you that you are at the bazaar and stay in line to buy fresh fish 🐠. Very cheap management but smart at the same time, plenty of fish 🎣 to catch! What a greedy 🏥

This was the first time I went to that hospital, and it was for my 13 month old daughter day surgery. From the moment I arrived in the building, everyone was so welcoming and helpful 😊 from the lady that registered us in, the nurses for my daughter, and of course her surgeon, Dr Martin, and her anesthetist. I would highly recommend this hospital for day surgery.

7 hours on a Wednesday, we are still waiting my sons been crying the past 2 hours waiting in the patient rooms and no one is here still. They also have a patient survey they like to post in the halls guess what they got for Patient Care? 25% out of 100% for the month of Sept 2023 goes to show I’m not the only one who thinks this

Understandably the healthcare field is not easy job, so wait times can be horrific. But I’m not complaining about wait time (despite them being so long). I had the worst experience ever. So many signs how the staff don’t tolerate harassment yet they are the rude ones! I understand wait times, but I don’t understand insensitive health care workers. The lack of care and empathy in this hospital is insane. Being kind goes a long way ESPECIALLY in the healthcare field where people are going through things. No matter how minor a situation can be, it affects people differently! Efficiency can always be improved and trained for but EMPATHY and KINDNESS are something we shouldn’t beg or complain about. Came to the ER and saw a man get admitted by getting hit by a car just to find the nurse laughing when she heard the story(I watched and heard the full situation play out) I then went with my friend to see the doctor for a follow up and they didn’t even introduce themselves and didn’t even read the results of the tests done. All they did was lecture them about eating healthier and taking vitamins?!? How about care for your patients and cut the damn attitude. You choose to be in healthcare, the least you can do is be kinder.

MEDICAL MALPRACTICE!!! I was waiting in the emergency room and noticed an older African-Canadian female nurse with a big attitude who skipped and refused to check the patients vitals because the nurse would have to wheel the patient in a wheel chair. That nurse said “yeah I’m not about to do that” Worst yet when that same nurse was checking my temperature/vitals, she asked what happened to you, as I explained my injury she said “Yeah yeah I don’t care keep it for the the front desk” . To make it even worse, the vital piece was on my right hand finger then the same nurse told me to pull mask down to check temperature through tongue. However, when I used my right hand she rudely said no no use your left hand…. I said miss my left hand is injured I can’t use it… then she said ok leave it. Whoever is hiring these types of nurses needs to be fired, what kind of background check are you guys doing. If someone dies under that negligent nurses hands, I wouldn’t be surprised. I have listed the description of the nurse since I was unable to get her name, please investigate before someone dies in her hands.

Do not come to this hospital if you want better care for your family members. A family member has been in the ICU unit for a month. A attending doctor order a procedure, twice they booked the procedure and the GI doctors called both times and got the consent but did not show up to perform the procedure. It has been 3 weeks since the order was given but now they are delaying this procedure for another week for a patient that is in the ICU. This hospital needs a overhaul, they need to hire better management and good responsible doctors.

I delivered my first baby in Sep 2021, Although yhe equipment of hospital like rooms and monitoring us really good and is a new hospital, but there is a very big important thing that is missing! There is shortage of dr in this hospital! Even I had induction and from the day before I was in process of delivery but there wasn't dr to come for my delivery, baby's heart reached to 200 and the nurse did all the work that night ! I was lucky she was good and energetic other wise might my baby wasn't here now!!!!

I've been here a few times now and can say that overwhelmingly the staff here are patient, attentive, knowledgeable, and kind. I've stayed overnight, had my gallbladder removed, had several rounds of bloodwork, EEG, CT, and spoken to probably a dozen doctors, nurses and staff over the last couple of years. Great experiences overall, considering no one goes to the hospital for a good time.

My Husband was there for an operation and remain there for a day and half. According to him the care from the begin to the end of his staying was spectacular and he has nothing but good things to say about the staff and the care. Amazing experience with our daughter and son-in-law having their first baby. Birthing and Moms and Baby facilities were excellent- spacious, private, clean, high tech and functional. Staff in both areas were all exceptional- knowledgeable, kind, efficient, helpful, empathetic, informative, caring and professional. It was a memorable experience with complications that was handled well on all fronts. I would highly recommend this hospital.

Everytime i come here it's a disaster in terms of waiting, don't understand why they call it fast track if there's nothing fast about it. Got here at 9.30pm finished triage at 10.50pm and then they send to fast track waiting room, waited another 2h there then they call you into room to see doctor, it's 2.03am and still no doctor has seen me. Very poor hospital in terms of emergency. Would have been better of going to a hospital downtown.
