This has to be the most nastiest red peas soup I've ever come across. It smell sour, like vomit sour. When I got in my car I was wondering what the smell was but gave the entire bag the benefit of the doubt. Mind you I went and bought this soup cause my daughter was sick so it was for her. When I got home and went to open it and gave it a tiny taste, that soup was NOT at ALL GOOD. And smell and taste was so bad that lady should've known at the store. Especially if you are an elder serving the food. That entire bowl went the garbage. Apparently, if you ask for a fried chicken meal you don't get sides as a walk in customer but if you order on uber eats, you are offered steam veggies or coleslaw...as you can see I wasn't offered anything but rice and chicken. I will never support this local restaurant again. Plus you don't even get a hello...not worth it.

The women working last night around 3:30am was so incredibly rude. I have never been to a restaurant that treated me and my friends, the way she did. She was at the back, we called and called, but nobody responded, when she finally came out, she didn't say hello, may I help you? nothing! I asked her if one of the dishes on the buffet was goat and without looking and mumbling as if she was upset to answer, she said "yeah, goat". One of my friends said the minute we got there; "this smells bad and old. I didn't agree but he continued to say; it smells rancid! We waited and waited but she continued to fill containers for orders online, but never said; I'll be with you in a minute, NOTHING! The food looked horribly overcooked, all black, we couldn't tell what it was. We decided to leave and I yelled; have a great day! BTW, no tables or chairs but on their website, they have some. We waisted our time driving all the way there. Don't waist yours. Food looks disgusting and service is way below standards. She should not be working in food service.

first, of all I would like to say. chicken was nasty and the rice was made like it was made 3 nights ago and re heated and re fried and re cooked. the rice was also rock hard. do you know what your food could have done to the digestive system of a human sick for more then 2 weeks or so do to any growth or any level of bacteria that can come from badly cooked and made product. The chicken that was made is not due to seasoning or taste. it has nothing to do with taste, etc what your staff, chef or cooks are doing is the worst level of food delivery that can actually close your restaurant down for good. the starts should be less then one percent not even half starts. Sunrise Resturant brands and chains should all just close down. Until you get a better outlook on the quality of foods that customers are purchasing. image when a customer who is hungry orders bad food and it sits in the belly vomit will come. its not how the food has a lot of rice or less rice or more chicken its the preparation of the food and how its being cooked and no one is fully tasting the food before it goes out of the kitchen that honesty with customers is clearly not your companies level of standards and representation of quality. NO recommending this company and all the sunrise locations

Ordered Uber eats the food speaks for it self… Ordered the King Fish and Jerk Chicken. The fish dinner was a joke, fish was so thin like a slice of tomato,better to charge more and give proper portions. Remember your name and establishment represents what you put out there. This restaurant should be called sundown…it doesn’t matter how hungry I am, this was my first and last order.

I hate this place. There’s a lady that has green short cut hairstyle. She so disrespectful. I do Uber and I have been waiting for 25 minutes, I told her please can you let me go and she looked at me from head to toe and doesn’t say anything. And still made me wait for 13 extra minutes and finally said “who are u here for?” I think she’s nigerian. I wish I could leave 0 start cause this is crazy man

I should have learned my lesson as my last 3 UberEats orders were incorrect. Wrong beverage, simple enough. Via the Merchant end of the uber platform you can list an item as not being available, a few swipes would solve that problem. Uber also gives merchant the secondary option (if they just realize when an order has come through, that they have run out of something) to notify the customer that the item is unavailable and provide them with secondary choices, or to completely just remove it from the order so there is no issue. But no they send you whatever they want, who cares if you are paying for it. Lazy if you ask me but its not my business to run and given that this is not the first time I should have known better than to give them the opportunity. Now the kicker is on top of giving me the wrong drink, I have now found plastic in my soup. Yummy!!! Now I tried do my due diligence by calling them and saving another potential customer from a choking hazard but guess what... they do not have a working phone number. So here I am essentially writing an essay. What do you know, had I come here and checked the reviews sooner I would never have ordered from them in the beginning. They don't even care to respond to the reviews. Yikes!!! Kind advice spend your money elsewhere!! There are other Sunrise locations providing far better service and better quality food. Bye Folks :)

Unfortunately I was so dissatisfied with the food I actually came here to leave a review. When you walk in there are TVs but they don't have any menus displayed on the TVs, regardless I ordered the safest thing I could. 2 large rice and peas with jerk chicken. When I went to pay not only did they not have change to give me but when I offered to pay with my debit card it seemed like that was also out of service then as I was leaving there was a large bowl on the floor collecting the rain water from the leaking roof. But in regards of the food the rice and peas with jerk chicken both had these small hard crunchy pieces of rice in it and the gravy I was given had a fishy taste and smell to it. Couldn't finish it so we ended up throwing them both away. The only thing amazing about this place is their ability to make a traditional meal so unappealing. I absolutely recommend staying away from this place in it's current state.

Had to walk out without my food. The Warmers were not on and food was out long enough to be cold with oil completley solidified on top. The girl was very polite about it but I had to pass.

I bought chicken soup, To be honest , I have had many chicken soups from various other restaurants. However, this chicken soup is the worst one I have had from a Caribbean restaurant,. It taste disgusting. I had to throw it away. They need to get some more lesson in cooking soup. I will not make that mistake ever again.

When this restaurant first opened up at Jane and Finch the food was delicious and fresh. Their fried dumplings were so fluffy and their plantain was nice and sweet. Currently I cannot say the same now the food tastes like leftovers that got microwaved. I can tell it was not made with love or the customer in mind. Their rice gave me run belly, their potato and curry chick pea tastes sour and their plantain is not fully ripe before it is fried. If you guys don't care to make your food with the customer in mind then do us all a favour and just close down the restaurant. Stop charging people for subpar food. No wonder you guys have a sign up saying no refund well now you know why people are requesting a refund!

The Famous store where employees get paid for sleeping on shifts!! The reason why your food is burnt, soggy 🤮 This guy doesn’t deserve to be there anymore If you want to do double shifts, make sure you are ready for it.. don’t just sleep and tell you worked!

Absolutely disgusting. We ordered from Uber eats. The food was old, cold and half the order missing. I do not recommend. Currently trying to get our money back from uber eats and really hoping to not get food poisoning from the one bite we took.

Uber eats value meal $9.99 each.... buy one get one free $17.30? Free meh blohd Klatt! All the food portion is small rice dry like granny draws. Keep your false food advertisements and shut down Sunrise yuh ah diss yawdy food. Uno know Chinese people run this place down. All the food is in plastic vacuum sealed bags boiled in water. Rushing to work at 8:05am after dropping kids off, though I would treat myself to a nice breakfast instead of the usual hard boiled egg. Food was dried out and look like leftovers. I asked the staff person if this was fresh. She gives me all the attitude and excuses: “Breakfast starts at 4am, it’s cause of the heat lamp, it’s going to be mix up so it’s fine” I’ve eaten breakfast at Sunrise for over a decade so all that’s cap and I told her so. Well, she’s been working for 12 hours (is that legal?) so she don’t have time for this and “you people” should make your own breakfast. Say less. I will never be coming back here cause I work too hard to waste my money and get disrespected on top of it.

Brought this thru uber eats bogo special for the month special . Overall pretty good .. jerk chicken and oxtail rice .. quality was good and the taste was very nice.  Would definitely go back if it was not too far

I went here excited to find Jamaican food for breakfast, so early in the morning, but it was an absolute disappointment. Never again. I saw that they had a few signs stating that they did not do refunds, and I thought it was weird, because why would you request a refund at a food place? …but now I see why.🥴

Today or this morning to be more specific, I got fry bakes and they were really really hard. It seems as though it was re-fried. The quality of the two fry bakes were so hard and dry, i couldn"t even finish them. I ended up having to throw them away, which was upsetting. I really wished I had taken pictures of the after and before. But I was so disappointed, I couldn't even fathom at the idea that the bakes were actually re-fried in oil and then served. I thought to myself, maybe this was just one of those days that quality wasn't the best. I've had better from this exact location, not sure what happened this morning with the fry bakes. But I must say the corn meal porridge was really delicious. This experience will not affect my next visit. I do hope the next time I visit it will be a must better experience.

I usually order from these guys all the time through Uber eats and for some reason my last order I ordered small chicken curry and small goat curry with white rice, these fools thought I'd be able to eat my order that I received with no dam white rice, seems like the rice grew legs and walked away. Not only that but I also ordered extra curry gravy on the side, don't know what the hell they sent me definetly not freaking curry. Such a dam waste of my money.

This store used to be so good! Now the chicken is so obviously old that was probably sitting there for days!!!! Girl cashier is so rude and putting her legs up infront of u while talking.

Ordered ackee and salt fish via Uber. Then this place calls and tells me they don't have it. This is the most basic of all Jamaican breakfasts! The person on the phone clearly had no clue of Caribbean culture or food because his "substitutes" were not sensible. I canceled the order and was still charged 50% for "their time". A disgusting place. If you're Jamaican, don't waste time with these jokers and time wasters! I wish I could give negative stars!

Edit: February 2023 Went to grab a patty for a snack, the patty was not fresh or good. Restaurant is dirty, the window housing that the chicken is behind is dirty. Staff is not friendly at all. Lots of changes needed if the restaurant wants to continue doing business. =========================== I got the jerk pork and it was way too salty.

Gave this place a second shot and regretted it more than my first time. I already had a poor experience in store with the unfriendly service and poor tasting rice and peas with fried chicken. This time I decided to try the curried chicken. It was poorly spiced and seasoned except for salt. It was so salty that I had to throw it out and again the rice and peas wasn't done properly, hardly any peas, no spice or coconut milk. I will never have food from here again. The salt really made me wake up feeling sick. Extremely poor, there's nothing Jamaican or Caribbean about food from Sunrise restaurants. Save yourself the trouble and spend your money elsewhere.

These people sold me rancid soup that smelt like vomit and started to foam after I tried to heat it up. Then they want to put a sign up that says no refunds or exchanges. You serve tainted old food that’s poisonous to people who are unaware then refuse to give them a refund. That’s outrageous. Stealing from people because you know that food is not edible. The white you see on my pic is foam,,, can you believe this. My whole house smelt like vomit. Neve again will I go in there.

I went to this place 2nd time in a row. The first time the cook was at the front he said he had no one to serve me i said so why are u open! Tonight i tried to order oxtail again the cook was at the front he asked me what i would like i said oxtail he said he only serving oxtail then the girl who serves started screaming. Then she said she was not serving because she had to pick up her child! And yelled at the cook to serve me and his just standing there! Then someone asked him what time his ending his shift he said 10pm why stay open if his not serving clients! Very dissapointed on their customer service never going there again! Poor service, bad attitude the place going downhill!
