No air conditioning or elevator, cute rooms though :) Floors in rooms are carpeted, and single beds are provided. Open closet, shelf, desk, desk drawer, and clothes drawer provided (double rooms) Edit: After living here I would not recommend, you may have more luck in Tatham or Vanier, both are close to Winters and conveniently located close to York Lanes (a place where many students get food with their meal plans), as Winters is. The price of a double room in Winters is near or is the same as Tatham, but Tatham double rooms are much more spacious, and have wooden floors (easier to clean). I can't say for Vanier as I haven't been there. Winters has many friendly faces and activities throughout the year, but I believe the cons outweigh the pros. The carpeted floors are hard to clean, the double rooms are quite small (single rooms are alright though), the hallways often smell, and in my experience some neighbors aren't respectful (running around the halls making noise way past quiet hours, stealing others snacks or kitchen supplies, forgetting to retrieve their clothing from the laundry room in a timely manner, etc. Of course this is less about the building and more about some in the community in my year of living here). Overall I would not put Winters as my first residency choice, but if I HAD to live on campus and there was no other place to stay, I would be willing to live another year here.

as a disclaimer, overall I enjoyed living here but I would have liked to know these things before I moved in. let's dive right in! -no air conditioning so in the summer months it's crazy hot, get atleast one fan! -no elevator (but accessible washrooms on upper floors?) -cleaning crew, no offense to them, does a terrible job A lot of the time (picture attached, doesn't show too well and I don't want to take a picture of whatever bodily fluid is on the door handle right now). there has been something nasty around the toilets and on the door handle for about a month now -living with people sucks in general. people will erase your whiteboard and vomit everywhere which they will not clean!!! and people will take your wet clothes out of the dryer just to use it, and eat your food if you leave it in the communal fridges. -not much gets done about noise complaints, which means people screaming at 2:30 in the morning on a Tuesday -the curtains don't actually stifle sunlight -people like to scream outside your window at all hours of the night -the kitchens never work. for example, the 3rd floor girls side kitchen's fuse blows out whenever the toaster oven and microwave are in use at the same time and it doesn't get fixed for days (happens about once a week) -there's a Brita filter on every floor but it dispenses such a small amount of water at a time that it takes a solid 4 minutes just to fill up a water bottle. and the water is warm! there's more but this is all the comes to mind. most of the people here are really nice and you're sure to make a ton of friends but if you're high maintenance this may not be the place for you!! good luck!

Stayed in the dorm for a semester and my heater didn’t work half the time. The shared rooms are comparatively smaller then other dorms. Overall it wasn’t a pleasant experience and would not recommend applying for it.

Wew lad. Decent place if you go to York U. But here's the bad part, no AC so it gets pretty hot sometimes. Only stairs so moving in and out is a hassle. Overall decent and pretty cheap compared to other residences though fire alarms almost happen monthly so that's annoying.

The atmosphere is really nice. The students are super friendly. Washroom that I used was newly renovated and gender neutral. The only drawback is that yhe building is not air conditioned. But, the weather starts cooling in September, the year is over before it gets to warm in May. The picture windows are gorgeous. The rooms are well equipped with a desk, shelves, hangers, table lamp, floor lamp, chest and a bed with a mattress, of course. The location is super is it is close to the shopping lane.

The fire alarm went off multiple times at 5 am. The whole building had to evacuate, stand in 2⁰ weather, stand in the rain, and wait for firemen to come and confirm that there was no fire. Multiple. Times. Happened twice just this week. Didn't realize getting an interrupted night of sleep on a week day was so much to ask for...
