Worst living experience. Staff are rude and unhelpful. I had to follow up with housing because an urgent work order was not done. Walls are thin, so very noisy and fire alarms constantly go off with no explanation as well as the electricity. I'm a graduate student and I do not wish the experience I had on anyone. I stayed because it was VERY convenient living on campus and I wanted my own space, which is not offered in York Village to my knowledge. I lived in Passy.

As a run-away daughter from an abusive family, I relied on campus residence for a safe place to live and study. I'm a clean person and pay rental fees on time. I planned to ask the residence to give a reference to my future landlords. One night, I heat up my food in the toaster oven, but it burst into fire. I unplug the oven and pull the fire alarm. I cried and feared for everyone's safety. Next day, residence mgr Tayxxx Mxxxx gave me the warning letter, saying that I violated their rules, will face eviction, and banned from seeking employment at the residence. I reasoned with her but she still said I was at fault. Later, I ended my tenancy early, but she refused to refund my fees. She and her staff refuses to speak with me, especially about the fees that they owed me. They are ruthless!

I chose to live in res cause I thought it would be easier to deal with school than individual landlord Not really. Buildings weren't the nicest when I lived there. Unless you want to pay the highly inflated prices for pond road res the other buildings are quite old and falling apart Staff was nice and helpful in general except for one woman She was not kind to students especially those ESL students. Unfortunately she took care of most office work. Not sure if she is still there Some Dons loved power tripping. Mind you I don't smoke drink or party. I advise people not to live in res especially since Yorku has subway now.

The worst living experience I've had in my life. People are absolutely unhelpful and just don't care about you especially if you are an international student. They are absolutely irresponsible and do not maintain the apartments in good condition. Passy apartments are the worst, the noisiest and oldest of them. If you're thinking of living in them, be ready for all sorts of noises, like floor creaking and thin walls and the noise from the courtyard!

Students are not provided with basic needs such as fridge , shared kitchen, ....very disappointing !...

Absolute incompetence of housing staff in regard to stolen packages at Passy and Assiniboine Apartments. Zero communication and zero actions taken even after multiple complaints. If you order something online, it will likely be stolen. Straight down from York Administration I guess, they've York-ed it again. And dont worry I'm sure they'll blame you for it.

Dedicated to the student experience and with new improvements in maintenance and housing, the customer service is second to none. Continuous improvements and striving to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all.

I had a leakage through a pipe in the washroom if the pond. Residence and it seeped through to me bedroom. They came and fixed the leak but my whole bedroom is wet. They gave a blower to dry it off but it’s very slow in results. This is unacceptable. The housing department is pathetic. Now they’re saying I might get mold in the wet carpet in my room. The whole room is covered with the same carpet. It’s not even a carpet. It’s the worst fiber carpet ever. I’m honestly done with this university.

Excellent staff, including, admissions, front desk, custodians and maintenance professionals going above and beyond everyday 24/7 to ensure the health and wellbeing of staff and students by offering high level customer service and support in all areas.

Great rooms. I booked 2 york suites and loved the experience.

I called to inquire and staff were very pleasant and attentive to my needs. It makes me more inspired to join York University this coming Fall.

I came to the office and inquired about housing. They have no spaces available and I’m not eligible but what I remember is that the staff spoke to me politely and treated me with respect - like I mattered even if they will not make money from me. That’s service with a heart!

Not sure why this place has good reviews. The staff are not nice :/

York Housing Services is not only attentive and accommodating, but they are friendly, caring individuals. The help, patience and understanding we received was more than we could ask for, and for that, we are genuinely grateful. As a parent, I felt reassured to know that York Housing Services is taking my child's needs seriously and genuinely worked hard to meet them. Ms. Kruetzmann is an angel! The help we received from her is uncomparable. We weren't simply another "applicant." She took the time to really understand our situation and helped us every step of the way. Staff are friendly, accommodating and dependable in times of emergencies and needs. For the service and support they offer, I will not trade living in residences to any place on campus.

I recently moved into Atkinson Apartments. Upon arriving, my oven and stove was unfit to use. After filing a maintenance report, within 24 hours I had maintenance knock on my door, and they provided me with a new oven. I had great service, friendly, and efficient! I am also very happy with the size of my apartment and the big, bright windows!

Absolutely pathetic housing management services. I have a mattress with a blood stain and a melted patch in the middle. So I emailed them as I checked in and even called them and it’s been almost 2 months, but I guess they are too arrogant to even respond to my emails or my maintenance requests. So, I definitely do not recommend this to anyone else.
