*UPDATED REVIEW* 2 Years Ago: Good place to relax and socialize. It also has a great music selection. Food is decent but could be a little cheaper given some of the portion sizes. Now: This is NOT the Ab I remember. First of all, they're incredibly stingy with the shots; my friend ordered a shot and he received a sample size for full price. Furthermore, I waited 13 minutes for two mixed drinks and then LITERALLY an HOUR for a plate of nachos and a burger. When I went up to complain, it turns out that someone else "just so happened" to not pick up the same exact plate of nachos we ordered, which was sitting out for who knows how long. So we got "someone else's" nachos after waiting an hour. Another friend of mine ordered a burger and similarly waited an hour. When it arrived, it looked worse than cafeteria food. He asked for relish and they put salsa and a cold Kraft Single on the thing and called it a day. Lastly, some of their COVID-19 measures, while understandable, are completely arbitrary and don't do anything positive. We were made to split up our large group even though we were not breaking overall capacity limits, dividing friends into two groups even though we came together. There's just no sense to that. I love the Ab and I want it to be as it was. In its current state though, I can't say I or my friends will make this a regular spot again.

The only pub worth going to on campus. Shopsy's Bar is too loud and overpriced. The Underground is overpriced. The Ab has a relaxed atmosphere, good drink selection and often has live music. Bonus fact - students technically own The Ab (if you are a member of Winters College)!

Although only accessible if you're a student of York or with one of the students, it's still a very nice bar. The drinks are averaged priced and the food isn't too bad at all. The atmosphere is nice and the music is good. It's managed by the students and has a very nice atmosphere to it.

The best pub on Campus. Everywhere else is either overpriced and/or loud and/or crowded. This place is owned by students and ran by students so don't go in expecting the greatest of drinks and bartending but if you go in for a good time and cool vibe and atmosphere you will not be disappointed. They also have darts and the occasional live music which are huge pluses in my book.

The closing of the Absinthe just makes me so very sad. Loved it as an undergrad oh so many years ago, and liked to pop in in recent years when I was back working on campus. Such a shame.

In order to get into this pub you must be a York student or be accompanied by one. To confirm that, you need your student ID. I am not sure if this is all day or if they impose stricter rules towards the late evening. Whatever food I've had has also been pretty good. They have a large variety of beers on tap for a small pub. They have a patio, of course only open for the summer. This place does a lot of open mic nights and music nights. Overall a very social atmosphere, I would definitely come back with a group of good friends.

Winters is the only college that has a pub left and it is it's prized possession. Great atmosphere and especially like the Erdinger on tap.

Wonderfully quaint student pub. Great for drinks and hang outs. The food isn't particularly great. But the ambiance is pretty good.

A wide selection of drinks and tasty food. There's a patio with benches, although it seems to be closed most of the school year due to snow - thanks Canada. Dart boards and frequent themed/event nights to keep you entertained! The ab was my second home during the first few years of my undergrad - pull up a chair!

Need more vegan options and a better beer selection. That said, staff is nice and the ambient is cozy and relaxed!

This place is not an absinthe pub. Bartender didn't even know where the absinthe was at or how to make a drink of it. Does seem like a cool college hang out though
