As much as I want to give this restaurant a good rating as I think this has the best ambiance and Filipino decor in town, the food service is extremely poor. It was my first time here. I was greeted by a fluent English speaking waiter with an amazing personality (which wowed me). I ordered turunito (literally small as the name suggests) and halo-halo. The turunito came after few minutes but to my surprise, the portion was not justified for 9cad. I took it gracefully as I really liked the store decor. I was so amazed that I took a lot of pictures and did not realize 30 minutes had passed and I still did not get my halo-halo. The crew was reminded politely. 45 minutes had passed and the order was not in. I had to go to the crew area to tell them that I ordered halo-halo which can be easily prepared in 5-10 minutes. I was trying to convince myself to be more patient, but I couldn’t. I would say the halo-halo was very satisfying. However, the restaurant needs to improve their service. They were adequately staffed in my opinion so I don’t see why the service had to be that poor. My cousin who was with me at the time said she had a similar experience at the same restaurant years ago and promised herself not to go back there again. She only did because I begged her. 😅I hope this review will be helpful for the improvement of the restaurant. It has so much potential.

We've driven past this place for several years thinking that one day we'll actually eat here. Well, today was the day, and we absolutely delighted! The staff was courteous, patient, kind, and enthusiastic! Each dish was flavourful, with a wonderful aroma! Without a doubt, this is now one of our favourite spots to dine with friends and family. We can't wait to try other items on their sizable menu!

First time having filipino cuisine with kamayan and it was truly a great experience especially as my friend’s birthday with friends together. Food is great, I believe it was the right amount and they were tasty! I am a rice person and their garlic rice is amazing! Of course, other items like shrimps are in good size so that’s good.. the pork is great even I am not a fan of fatty food but that was good! Anything can be better? umm, I think it’s overall a great experience and we also ordered some drinks as in the pictures, they are good too! didn’t get a chance to try their desserts though, hope can try that next time! Thanks!

Amazing Filipino food! They even have vegan and gluten free options available which is really impressive. Not a lot of Filipino restaurants offer this. Mais con hielo tasted quite bland though and probably wouldn’t order it again. But everything else was flavourful and just the right seasoning. Interior space was beautiful and so relaxing!

Food was hot and delicious. It may have been busy when I went ( 1:20 pm on a Sat) and after being seated we didnt get served for an hour. I think the moment you are ready, just get their attention so you can order asap. They were very sweet atleast.

Really liked the food and vibe here! The staff was very nice and friendly, but the service was quite slow and it’s a bit overpriced so I took one star off. Parking was also a pain but there’s underground parking behind the building.

The food here was delicious! Served hot. Our table of 7 had a variety of dishes and everyone loved what they had. The server was kind and attentive. Only small negative point was there was no one at the host desk and it took awhile to get attention initially. However, the rest of the experience was a delight. They even separated the check for us.

Not worthy at all when too many things made us disappointed. Food is not special and 100% overpriced with that portion and ingredients. I ordered Pinakbet with vegetables and shrimp. And it cost 19.95$, and the shrimp they used was the frozen ones in the bag with small sizes. The funniest thing is when i looked at the picture on the menu, it included the pork, so i just i looked at the price next to the name of the dish, which was 19.95$, and ordered the dish. But actually, the crispy pork is 7.95$ for 100gr. So after tax, only my dish already costs 31.5$ with vegetables, small shrimp, and 4 pieces of crispy pork, and the portion is small. and it doesn't come with rice. I was shocked tbh and feel like I was scammed. And when we ordered rice, the menu again messed up. It has 2 options for garlic white rice, one for 1-2 people, and the other for 2-3 people???. I didn't pay attention cuz I thought it gonna be the first option because we have two people. But when we paid, it became the second option which was 2-3 people. I was "What?" and it cost nearly 10$ only for the rice, and the garlic rice was not good as well. I don't talk about Western food with small portions with high prices, but compared to other Filipino restaurants, this place is way more than expensive. And for the drink, I order calamansi juice, and it's tasted like salty lemon (My family back in my country plants calamansi trees, and we make salty lemon juice as well. That's why I know how it's tasted). I just shake my head and try to finish it because I don't want to waste food. About the staff, I can tell the staff here is nice and friendly, but somehow they were not around when we needed help. And when we arrived today, they had a lady with fashionable clothes who can be the owner or the manager, and she made us feel uncomfortable while rushing us to choose the dishes from the beginning. And when we asked one staff about the parking lot, the lady again kept calling the staff's name to serve the other table. In customer service, you don't do that because it's rude. You need to wait and get other staff to help you, or you say sorry nicely to interrupt the conversation. After looking at the receipt, and thinking of all the experiences we had today, my boyfriend and I decided that we would cancel our next plan with friends here in March, and we will never come back in the future..

Came here for winterlicious lunch. The decor and atmosphere was nice but seating was very cramped. Somehow the mismatched chairs and random variety of decor worked well together creating a warm earthy atmosphere. We ordered the tamarind soup and empanada to start. Fried milk fish and Pork in a ginger coconut sauce with shrimp paste. Dessert was ube parfait and fried crepe. The tamarind soup was nice and sour. It was really sour so might not be for everyone. The empanada was disappointing. The dough is very chewy and mainly just stuffed with potatoes eventhough there suppose to be chicken in it. The pork main course came out cold. But they were nice to reheat it. But even the 2nd time around the plate was hot, but the food was still jusy slightly warmer. I wouldve liked more of thr ginger and shrimp paste flavor in the sauce, but it was mainly just coconut. Pork was tender but unremarkable. The fried milk fish was really good and worth trying. Can really go wrong with fried fish though in general. Ube parfait was very sweet and too much mousse. The sweetness overpowered the ube flavor. The fried crepe was not actually crepe but spring roll wrappers. The inside had a bit of jackfruit in it which was nice. Overall, average food, but still good to try.

This was my first time trying Filipino food at a restaurant. I loved the experience, and the staff was so friendly and nice. My absolute favorite was the milkfish sisig. It was creamy, and I loved the fish as well. I loved how all the flavors were strong and rich in umami. I wasn't much of a fan of the tres leche, but I was absolutely in love with their Halo Halo, except I struggled handling it by myself. Bring a group of people so you could try a variety of menu items. Their menu literally accommodates different diets as well, which is a bonus. Definitely would come here to try their kamayan as well.

Been here a few times and it hasn’t disappointed yet. Great presentation and great food. Everyone got their own individual kamayan meal with garlic rice, various meat skewers, and veggies. We got a strong pitcher of what I think was calamansi mojitos accompanied with a cute appetizers of chicharon. There was a sparkling halo-halo and the end perfect for any birthday celebration! The staff was super friendly and made everything perfect! Definitely come here if you are having a small gathering for the full experience and delicious foods.

The appetizer is sour soup, top notch. This was my first experience with Philippine food and I am ready to try more. Flavorful, colorful and interesting. Some difficulty communicating with some of the staff but regardless very nice. Would definitely recommend to try one of the combos. It's fun, sharable and it feels quite homely. Would go again next time I'm around!

Food was delicious! Must return to try more of the menu. Love the atmosphere and wish the weather was warmer to experience the patio as well. Staff were key in making it a great evening. Great place to meet friend and celebrate family birthdays.

I've been here a few times over a span of several years and it's wonderful to see this place evolve each time I visit this place. The food was very nostalgic and with hospitable service from Haya & Aileen. I like how the interior is like a garden and I really like the glass palm tree and glass bamboo. We enjoyed the lumpia, mungo bean soup, chicken adobo, beef & oxtail kare kare, leche flan, and the ube macapuno silvanas. Definitely will be returning here.

We really enjoyed our dinner here. The food was great and the attentiveness of the staff was wonderful. We had mentioned among ourselves that we don’t think we have been at a place where the staff was this attentive and genuinely friendly. The owner was very hospitable and came around quite often to ask if we had any questions, and to check up on us. And she really helped my friend out with regards to her gluten allergy which we appreciated. thanks again for the lovely dining experience, we will definitely be back.

We had an amazing Filipino dinner at Casa Manila yesterday. My wife is from Pampanga. We have been to some other restaurants in Ontario in the past, but none with traditional Filipino cuisine as good as it was here. The atmosphere feels like being in the Philippines too and the staff were so pleasant. We are absolutely coming back here very soon. The Manila chicken curry was my personal favourite and they made it extra spicy for me. We shared some lumpia and BBQ chicken skewers to start, then enjoyed some crispy Pata, pancit palabok, and pinakbet. Finished off the meal with leche flan and ultimate halo-halo. A pitcher of calamansi juice was refreshing. Masarap.

The atmosphere of this restaurant is what started off the experience on the right foot. Plants, decor and seating orientation helped to create the perfect ambience. The service is where the restarting needs work. After about 10 minutes our table was ready to order… no one came to us after another 20 minutes and then took our order. Putting the service aside, the food was FANTASTIC. I ordered the vegan Kamayan which had so many different options with its main protein being tofu. They did a great job with proportions, flavours and most importantly, sauces!! Overall, I would 100% go back but hope the service and wait times was just a bad day and not common.

Excellent VEGAN/VEGETARIAN options - the only Filipino restaurant that highlights some very good PLANT-BASED options. Great service and atmosphere - you can almost feel the warmth of the Philippines, especially with the tasteful (but not in-your-face) decorations. Truly a home-cooked feel and experience!

The menu was a bit expensive but the food taste good! The portion of the food was smaller than what I expect haha. It was grilled platter around $60 on the picture! And I ordered beer and cocktail and sangria which was good! Sangria is little sweeter than I thought! Sweet lover will like it!

We ordered the vegan platter. It was pretty good, but a little overpriced. We will be back to try more. I think it's great that there is a Filipino place that focuses on quality ingredients and offers vegan food. They also sell plant based sauces, which is nice too.

Ordered food for a birthday party this Sunday June 25,2023 for 12:30 pm and it was an awful experience. Specifically ordered vegetable spring roll but they prepared pork spring roll instead, and was told to wait for another 15 minutes to cook the vegetable spring roll but ended up waiting for 30 minutes.Thank God we checked our orders!!! it was a very stressful event given the party starts at 2:00 pm. The spring roll didn’t taste that good, not crunchy and needed more seasoning, chicken adobo is swimming in sauce, big pans of pancit bihon and canton are more of noodles, the veggies were too less and same goes with the chicken and the taste is disappointing. Didn’t taste the other dishes ordered cause I already lost my appetite. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT…SPENT A LOT OF MONEY!!! Especially since we were looking forward for this very delicious food for a very special occasion.

June 8, 2023: Worst Filipino food experience of my life. Has there been a change of management? It's not the Casa Manila I used to enjoy & rave about. The last time I was here was maybe 6-7 years ago. Food was atrocious! First, the lumpia didn't have flavour. It didn't seem it was even seasoned with any salt & pepper. It was sour & I am almost certain it didn't have onion. How could one mess up lumpia? The sauce that came with it was so watered down. The typical sweet chili sauce would have sufficed. Do better! Second, the sisig came out cold & it wasn't sizzling. It didn't even cook the egg. (see attached photo - we couldn't even eat it) We then saw other sisigs come out sizzling, which shocked us. We feel ours was sitting there for so long & wasn't taken out in time. You all probably thought we wouldn't notice. Do better! Lastly, the palabok didn't have any flavour whatsoever. No one even thought to bring lemons to go with palabok? What is happening? Even Jollibee has better palabok!! The service was bad. Our server didn't even bother asking how our food was. He only ever came once, to get our orders. That was it. It was so disorganized. The manager/owner, was going around to only the non-Filipinos to ask how the food was. That was so rude & unprofessional. Our opinions matter too. Also, you have been tone deaf when it comes to customer reviews. It has been noted numerously that you don't do proper ventilation in that restaurant. We came in there so smoky and my friend was very nauseous because all the smoke in the kitchen was being wafted to the dining area. This is not a great environment for people with respiratory issues. To the foreigners out there who are so eager to try our cuisine, please go elsewhere. I would recommend Tinuno for kamayan. If you want to do proper, quality food and service, go to Max's Restaurant. I AM NEVER GOING BACK HERE EVER AGAIN!
